One of the things I often try to impart unto those who come to me for advice in regards as to how to live their life more in accordance with the gods is that the answer to their question is not so hard to discern as they may have otherwise suspected. The key is to learn how to pick out fools. That is to say one should be able to easily identify those who think the world is not a complex, living thing with sockets deeper than we can possibly imagine, those who detest uncertainty, and who are incapable of setting aside their flippant judgment over that of which they know little. Above all, be aware of those who always believe those things that are flattering to them. It is from these types that one can begin walking down a path more pleasing to the ideals put forth by the gods. You see, it will be the claims they find the most absurd, or the thoughts and opinions they consider most offensive that will end up being the ones most worthy of paying attention to.
As a final note, I wish to remind any and all who choose to read my public musings that I only said that the answer is easier than one might think. I do not claim that putting it into practice will be easy. In fact, one should expect life to be made more difficult for it.

I return from a two day jaunt at sea to find my wife has presented me with a son. It is untimely, and unexpected, or I should not have been at sea. Once again we are separated when my wife needs me most. But I will not be dismayed by that, instead I rejoice that both are alive, and Gods willing, will remain so.

Firstly: a most sincere THANK YOU to everyone who offered their congratulations to me for passing my Explorers trial! I think this is the first time I have been sober since the moment I heard that I passed -- I have been celebrating with unrestrained joy! Between this and being allowed to join the Scholars, I feel as if every dream of mine is coming true. Arx feels to me like the city were the impossible becomes possible. It's everything I hoped it would be and more.
Secondly: I have decided that once I start going on adventures, I am going to write up little travel journals afterwards and title them 'Caithcapades'. Because I am Caith and they will be recount my escapades. Get it? Oh, this is going to be amazing. Can't you just see it? 'Caithcapade: Journey into a Dark Forest'. 'Caithcapade: What is That Thing? Let's Poke It'. 'Caithcapade: Ahhh! Run Away!'
Thirdly: I will be getting my own set of armor soon and this is very, very exciting! I imagine it will go a long way in protecting me on my Caithcapades.
Fourthly: YAY!

Holy hairballs in a beef basket! I don't know how, I don't know if I will ever be so lucky again but I actually not only managed to land a hit on Princess Agatha during the fight, but I did serious damage more than once! She is incredible! Nothing like an amazing brawl to mark the beginning of a wonderful friendship!

Breaking news: Princess Sabella has confirmed the reports, which may be based off of completely inane chatter from the whites, that Bastien, now to be known as Sir Bastien the Sullen, has been knighted in the Order of Grump. I'm told the ceremony was quite beautiful, and that many tears were shed. In other news, Orathy Culler, ever the progressive humanist, has been making waves in the hopes of bringing further attention to the plights of the common man. Will this hero ever rest? The walled garden at Tyde Tower is quite an accomplishment. Duchess Margot Tyde and Lady Catalana Kennex should be commended for the beautiful design. Should I ever find myself in possession of a grand estate that needs an appropriately grand garden...
The party there was fun, especially the model ship races, even if the one I'd constructed did not make it much further than the starting line. It was a joy to spend time with new friends, and meet interesting people I might not otherwise.
I think I may name the sturdy Thrax vessel I was gifted, the Butterfly, to commemorate the event.
