I learned many things in my time as Voice for Pravus. Among them, that I prefer to be a quieter voice than a loud one, and that what martial training that I received ill prepares one for the realities of war. I feel that I honored my House with my duty. I hope that they feel the same. I am also grateful for the generosity of my Duchess to allow me to step back into a less public role.

I have begun putting the wages of the sailors I lost at Setaraco into a fund to pay to the families left behind. Thanks to Norwood and my Auntie, I have also begun planning on going on and meeting with the families personally to give them their first payment. Count Kael seems to be onboard, so we may do a joint venture for both our infantry and our naval sections.

I've been trying to keep myself busy ever since my talk with my brother. It's easier that way. I've been busy checking on the ship construction, buying up lots of writs for a project, though I haven't really been talking to anyone about it. I'm still figuring out the particulars. Speaking of which...well, kind of!
Father is back from Pearlspire already. He seems to be in a much better mood and he brought Kalani with him! Both of them forgot Orli though. Naturally.
Anyways, the Marquessa was there, so I ran my vague ideas past her to the end that we grow the fleet (because fleets need money!) and she pointed me in some good directions. Been thinking on it and I have better ideas coming I think.

I don't remember being this weak the first time. All I want to do is sleep but writing gives me some sort of solace.
But one can only read for so long I would think. Being bed bound is not enjoyable. I don't recommend it. But I have a healthy, beautiful baby show to show for it and that is more important than my pains.

Marquessa Samantha recently negotiated on behalf of House Bisland and I am pleased with the results. Duchess Iona and I fostered her from a young age and I am honored to have been able to see her blossom into the woman in which she has. She is like a daughter to me and I am very proud of her.

I'm staring at the life I left behind and it's like it belonged to someone else, the clothing, the jewelry, the odd-bits of memory-trinkets, the weaponry. I took my bow, something to my hair up, the dagger my mother gave me, and the clothing on my back when I left for the woods. Only once did I think of returning and then news delayed me for several months; I stayed in the wild to grieve among the trees.
But I'm home again. I'm cleaning out my rooms. I'm me and yet I'm not the me I was. It's been a year in the woods, eat, sleep, hunt, eat, sleep, the pack that keeps you warm and you follow, eat, sleep, hunt-

A lovely dinner with the Count and Countess Keaton. If someone has yet to take them upon their offer of hospitality, I assure you, do go and you will be quite pleasantly surprised in their reception.
Of course business was discussed, I do not believe that I can go anywhere without speaking business, but the additional conversation of family matters, understanding Arx, and the politics that go on within, they were superbly well prepared and I left feeling educated.
Again, I cannot say enough about this wonderful couple and I do look so forward to furthering the relations between our two houses.
