Pravus Ball

The Pravus ball has been postponed repeatedly, for sickness, for war, for grief, and for the last time. Today is the day!

As we move forward, those we lost, mourned for. Those that survived, finding out what comes next. We rebuild and we give thanks.

This is what the Pravus Ball will be for. To give thanks to those that helped defend our home. To remember those that fell and celebrate those that survived. We as as people are strong and even with what we have lost, we will rebuild. We will move forward.

House Pravus invites you to spend a night celebrating with us, come rejoice and remember. Through bleakness comes the light.

Cadenza gets a blossom and flower petals of colored steel from an elegant wooden chest with an engraved dragon.

Harlan enters from outside, escoring....well, he's apparently brought an entourage. The duke has Princess Elgana on one side, Princess Agatha on the other ....and apparently Agatha is carrying Lady Ennettia. It's an ... interesting group, it seems.

Venturo gets a blossom and flower petals of colored steel from an elegant wooden chest with an engraved dragon.

5 House Mazetti Guardians arrives, following Cambria.

Luigi, Cambria arrive, following Hadrian.

Rue gets a blossom and flower petals of colored steel from an elegant wooden chest with an engraved dragon.

Harlan gets a blossom and flower petals of colored steel from an elegant wooden chest with an engraved dragon.

Felicia gets a bottle of Setarco Gold from a twilight blue wooden chest engraved with a swan.

There is a feeling of magic and wonder about the gardens in this late spring evening. The air still has a crispness to it was the sun sets and the festivities begin. As guests arrive, they are met by servants that take cloaks and coats, as well as passing out small gifts, stunning flowers in polished metal (an elegant wooden chest with an engraved dragon) and bottles of Setarco's finest (a twilight blue wooden chest engraved with a swan).

An arbor, twined with white jasmine, has been set at the entrance, allowing those that wish to make an entrance to do so. That is were the Lady Juliana Pravus stands, greeting those as they come in. From the silver and pearl hair pins that hold artfully piled curls as glittering drops of dew hidden through out to the dainty pearl studded slippers below, the lady brings to mind the silvery veil of a misty morning. Of course it is the dress that brings it all together. Held at the shoulders with hammered silver broach that hold yards of silvery mist like silk. Her arms bare, the silk dips low both in front and back to form gentle cowls, then fall unfettered the full length of the lady's form. Beaded throughout are tiny crystals and pearls that randomly sparkle and disappear in the ever shifting folds with the impression droplets suspended. But it is when she moves that the true magic is revealed. Turning to greet each guest with a warm smile and soft touch, the mists part as the folds move, what is hidden is now seen. Wearing nothing under the gown, one would think that all the lady's secrets were for any to see, but even though Juliana is nude under the transparent silk, she is not naked. As the hand of a clever artist has taken care of that, having painted each and every inch of the pale skin under the gown with intricately scrolled black lace. Gia the peregrine falcon, 3 Rubino and Zaffria guards arrive, following Grazia.

Harlan gets a bottle of Setarco Fire from a twilight blue wooden chest engraved with a swan.

Metzger, a great grey shrike arrives, following Dominique.

Gino, a surly sailor, 2 House Velenosa Guards arrive, following Antonio.

Elgana gets a blossom and flower petals of colored steel from an elegant wooden chest with an engraved dragon.

2 House Velenosa Guards, Margret arrive, following Alessandro.

Arriving alone, but none the less cheerful for it is Venturo. His clothing is a series of shades of grey save for the brilliant green sash tied about his waist, the top couple of buttons of that shirt left undone. Rather than directly into line to greet the hostess given the slew of entrance, it's a warm smile cast towards Juliana as the brewer slips further into the gardens, finding a comfortable spot to settle in.

Venturo has joined the admiring the view.

2 House Velenosa Guards arrives, following Lorenzo.

Sabella gets a blossom and flower petals of colored steel from an elegant wooden chest with an engraved dragon.

Cadenza has joined the the gazebo.

Ennettia gets a bottle of Setarco Fire from a twilight blue wooden chest engraved with a swan.

Ignacio has joined the the gazebo.

Astraea gets a bottle of Setarco Fire from a twilight blue wooden chest engraved with a swan.

Felicia's arrived 'stag', but actually wearing a dress, the copper wealth of her hair pinned up and left to drape in artful curls that it's a fair bet the knight didn't make herself. It doesn't change the prowl with which she moves; or hide the smattering of burn scars dotted across her shoulders, but at least some effort has been made to dress like a lady, for once.

Reyna gets a blossom and flower petals of colored steel from an elegant wooden chest with an engraved dragon.

For the sake of the common people as he made his way across the city with Astraea, Barric was wearing a heavy leather overcoat that was completely buttoned up to his neck. He enters into the garden with Astraea on one arm, conversing casually: "So, at the first sign of arrows or trebuchets, we'll go for the gunners..." They seem to be treating the ball like it might be a battle, or ambush, or war. Still when they arrive and a servant offers to take his coat Barric nods towards the servant, "Of course." He then takes off the black and green leathers to bare it all. Almost literally by all appearances! The coat is taken and Barric then looks back to Astraea, "Drinks?" He asks, offering as a suggestion as he gestures towards the refreshments.

That done, Barric simply strolls into the garden, offering polite bows and smiles to those he recognizes. The seemingly nude Prince acts as if nothing is wrong, at all as he escorts Astraea through.

Barric gets a bottle of Setarco Fire from a twilight blue wooden chest engraved with a swan.

Harlan is wearing...seasilk shirt and trousers in green trimmed in gold, with a red sash around his waist, and a pair of some exotic leather boots, as well as an umbra cloak. He definitely dressed up tonight. He looks to the princesses and Lady and asks, "Where to?"

Felicia has joined the among the trees.

Rue enters on the arm of Apollis Malvici, looking wide eyed and more than a little nervous. The culler is pretty but no where as eyecatching as the plethora of princess and noble woman in attendence. It's her dress that makes her stand out, the very dress that Lord Apollis was challenged into paying for. It's like a watercolor painting rendered onto seasilk, the sunset and glittering stars of the southern coast all woven into one dress. It's backless and low cut and the commoner tailor looks like she's never worn such a thing before, from the way she's clinging to Apollis' arm like she might explode from anxiety.

Ugh. Parties. For someone who like carousing as much as he does, Antonio does not appear at very many large social engagments- still, he's here, even if he hasn't bothered to dress for the occassiona, salt-stained leather sailor's grab covering his body.

Gliding in, wearing an umbra dress that leaves very little to the imagination, Grazia glances around the ball with a serious look, striking and beautiful and cursed with resting bitchface. She gets a glass of wine from a servant and sips it.

Joining the party, Caelis enters alone and with as little fuss as she can manage. She slips in and looks about curiously, setting her feet to wandering an aimless sort of path around.

Another lone arrival comes in the petite, golden-haired form of Tabitha Mercier, who enters the garden with light graceful steps that send her silken lilac-hued skirts flowing with every movement, Wide cobalt eyes slowly glide this way and that, her gaze a little far-away she takes in her surroundings.

Belladonna is, of course, at the party though she is standing farther back near the libations and food. This is Juliana's event and she seems determined to let her cousin have the spotlight for it. Glass of wine in hand, she instead murmurs greetings towards arriving guests and offers party favors from a pair of chests. Clad as ever in the brilliant fireweave dress that she favors, the Duchess watches everyone arrive with a warm smile and offers of drinks. There is a certain Prince, however, that gets a more personal greeting. When Barric makes his entrance, Belladonna moves towards him to greet both Prince and Princess. "Your Highnesses. Prince Barric, you look absolutely stunning. Thank you so much for attending tonight's festivities, and for so fully embracing the gift. Princess Astraea, you have chosen the best escort in the room, your taste is impeccable and I salute you."

Alessandro and Margret arrive together, the latter on the former's arm, as people generally do when they...well, arrive together. Alessandro's pace is slow to accommodate Margret's, his own usually languid steps a rather better match for hers than some might be. He is mostly in black, with the exception of a red silk shirt, which contrasts quite starkly with Margret. "Shall I get you a drink?" he asks his companion. "Or shall we find you a seat first?"

Islin arrives solo to this particular event. The Harthall Lord swaggering in with an easy going confidence and graceful movements so smooth they seem effortless. The warm smile on his lips brightens as he glances around, pausing and offering a polite bow at the waist to the Lady Juliana as he makes his entrance. Dressed in a shirt of sea blue silk ornamented with mother of pearl buttons and trousers and boots of black dyed doeskin he looks rather stylish and some might even say dashing. He saunters in glancing about with a look of curiousity in those bright blue eyes.

Princess Cadenza Velenosa was well....couldn't really miss her. The ballgown that adorned her body seemed to need it's own space....good luck. That gown of roses....a jest turned reality was just.....massive and trailed behind her. That Fidante lady to be was on the arm of Lord Ignacio, her blue eyes looking about as she pushed some of her long bone straight hair back behind her ear to reveal the only jewelry she was wearing: garnet earrings. On her wrist hung a blood red wine bag...maybe it was a purse. Looking over to Ignacio, she leans over to him the best she could in all that fabric and murmurs softly before smiling as she looked around.

"If there's trebuchets I'm out." Astraea comments quietly as she starts listing potential chokepoints within sight. When his coat comes off, the princess practically blushes. Okay she doesn't practically, she does. All manner of throat clearing was given as she nods eagerly to the question of drinks. "Aye. A drink would be good. You promised lots of alcohol." Belladonna's greeting makes her pause, the sunset colored seasilk swishing lightly as she offers a bow to the Duchess. "You're far too kind and if I were to be completely honest, half of his charm comes from such a lovely outfit. Whomever graced him with such a gift has my gratitude."

In walk Ansel and Dominique, the former escorting the latter. The young Telmar heir is clad in a set of scarlet-and-white plate armor, House sigil present on his chest. His House's ancient-looking heirloom weapon is kept sheathed and attached to a loop behind his right shoulder. For her part, the Wyrmguard Marquessa is clad in a long-trained gown, iridescent and embroided. There's a vaguely dragon-like quality to the outfit, complete with a few plates of armor attentively placed in a nod to the more traditional aspects of Oathlands attire.

Reyna gets a bottle of Setarco Gold from a twilight blue wooden chest engraved with a swan.

Agatha is starting the evening as many may hope to end it - She's carrying a lovely lady in her arms in classic Office and a gentleman style, or over the threshhold. Clearly the walk to the Pravus estate was just too much for the dear Ennettia. And what's a bear to do? APPARENTLY, though, throwing a gowned, carefully coiffed for the ball woman is Frowned On in some establishments, though, and SOMEONE was told that she should find a more elegant way to help the Igniseri woman out. When they've arrived inside and greeted their hostess, she looks down at her burden. "Okay. But can I put you down now? Or am I carrying you all evening?" Alas, no fancy dresses, but Agatha has bothered to put on silk. How long until it tears or is horribly ruined by stains is a perfectly reasonable betting pool for the evening.

Princess Sabella Grayson arrives with her hand on the arm of one Niklas Kennex. Her hair is curled and she's wearing a very expensive dress that someone took the time to write a description for so you might as well just look at it. She picks up a flower from one of the chests and beams a brilliant smile around the whole place, "I have been looking foreard to this since they announced it what seems like forever ago! She says excitedly, then waves to Harlan, "Duke Harlan! Good evening!"

Felicia can't help it, from the way her green eyes settle on Antonio and his salt-stained leathers, there's at least some envy there. She collects herself a drink from a passing servant and goes to stake out a spot among the tree's.

Duarte enters with a casual stroll, Mirari at his side. They walk nearer together than usual escorted company: their shoulders nearly in constant contact and Duarte's hand resting atop Mirari's fingers which grasp at his arm. Duarte seems to be blushing, actually. Is he blushing? Well...

The pair stop near Juliana, to whom Duarte speaks. "My lady-hehehe..." he clears his throat to stay the giggles and tries again. "My lady! A grand affair and the decor is so lovely. I know you put much care into hosting tonight. Thank you. My regards."

"You look beautiful," Apollis says as he leans down a little to Rue, who hangs on his black leather clad arm. He runs a stray hand through his white-blond hair, making sure every strand is in its proper place, which it always is. "Let's get a drink. I am not feeling well. Maybe that will settle my stomach."

Niklas gets a bottle of Setarco Fire from a twilight blue wooden chest engraved with a swan.

Ennettia is indeed being carried in by Agatha, arms twined around the ever-strong princess's neck, a lazy grin on her face "Dearest Princess, you are the absolute sweetest. I suppose you might." She decides with a sigh, before leaning foward to place a plush kiss to Agatha's cheek. Dark hazel eyes then sweep towards the rest of the party upon arrival, pausing on the nude Barric moreso to admire/judge the goods than in any sort of surprise or shock, before they continue on. Grazia, when spotted, earns Ennettia actually making the effort to raise a hand and waggle her fingers, "Duchess! How marvelous to see you!" She calls out, before looking back to her companions, "I suppose it would be rude not to socialize."

Niklas gets a bottle of Setarco Gold from a twilight blue wooden chest engraved with a swan.

Elgana gives a smile Agatha as she carries Ennettia in her arms before she glances to Harlan. "That is a very good question," she chuckles and then looks out to those gathered. "Lead the way? Someplace where we can mingle and talk preferably, of course." Those dark eyes skip over faces, both new to her and known, before they land on Cadenza in her lovely rose gown. "Oh my, she actually did it," there is a touch of surprise in that voice now as she laughs. "But of course she makes anything look breathtaking." She gives a tug on Harlan's arm then and lets him lead the way. "And I imagine the Lady wouldn't mind being put down now, sister," she adds to Agatha with a grin before she casts her gaze back out and then lands on her cousin and Prince Barric, then skips again--only to skip right back to Barric and then she sort of stares a moment longer and then casts her gaze off. "It's a very lovely night."

Accompanying the Princess Cadenza, Ignacio looking dapper himself, he allows his smokey emerald gaze talk a slow look around the Garden before it falls back onto Cadenza, leaning over to whisper something to her.

"Of course Duchess," Barric says to Belladonna with a smile, "I am honored to have received such personal attentions by yourself. Truly going to the shrine of the Sentinel to pray against the injustice of something new to wear has been answered. You do the work of the Gods, Duchess." He bows his head to her with a smile and then gestures towards Astraea, "And to be so lucky as to escort Princess Astraea as well. I am quite sure my fortunes are rising." He nods towards Astraea, "Of course Princess. Let us go see what alcohol may be had." He looks back towards Belladonna, "If you will excuse us, this looks to be quite the event and we would hate to miss any of it." He gestures over towards the alcohol with one hand and then leads Astraea towards the alcohol.

Taking a quick glance about, Dominique seems to be fresh and squeaky clean from the baths. Walking alongside the Sword of Telmar, she purses her lips for a few moments, nosewrinkling while glancing about looking for any familiar faces. Patting his arm gently, she motions towards the free drinks. "Ooooh, the Setarco fire burns, but is good." she says with an approving nod before she spies Barric and raises a brow in his direction.

Elizabetta, a disapproving lady-in-waiting, Lily, a lithe young woman, Valor, a small brown and white corgi puppy leave, following Sabella.

Elizabetta, a disapproving lady-in-waiting, Lily, a lithe young woman, Valor, a small brown and white corgi puppy arrive, following Sabella.

Harlan inclines his head towards Elgana with a smile, "Of course, of course." He moves to lead Elgana (and the others if they follow!) as he looks around. His eyes may...pause, here and there, but he doesn't react, although he gives a momentary freeze when he sees Barric. Less due to the man's near-nudity, perhaps and more ... other issues.

In contrast to her darkly clothed escort Margret is dressed in a simple white silk gown that is adorned with a girdle made of glass. "I don't think one typically sits much at a ball." The scarred woman says to Alessandro with an easy smile. "So I suppose drinks and then mingling is in order."

Harlan has joined the among the trees.

Harlan has left the among the trees.

Harlan has joined the the gazebo.

Elgana has joined the the gazebo.

Drysi, a young shaman apprentice, GusGus, the fluffy Whitehold Mountain puppy arrive, following Khanne.

Agatha has joined the the gazebo.

Dominique gets a bottle of Setarco Fire from a twilight blue wooden chest engraved with a swan.

Dominique gets a blossom and flower petals of colored steel from an elegant wooden chest with an engraved dragon.

Antonio has joined the a shadowy corner.

Avaline arrives on her own, a curious glance given to thsoe gathered at the party, and dressed in fine silks with her hair done back in an ornate styling. She tilts her head towards the crowd and accepts some wine from a passing servant, sipping idly as she moves through the crowd, fingers wiggling in the direction of Apollis and Astraea.

Juliana stands near the entrance as people enter, the Pravus girl offers smiles to each, nodding to those she doesn't know as well as those she is familar with. Stunning in her misty dress and dark curls, the hints of the black lace body paint that shows as she moves and the dress gives occasional peaks of it's transparency. "Lords and Ladys, thank you all for coming, Pravus is humbled again but your presence as we were in weeks past. Please welcome and enjoy our gratitude for all that has been done." reaching for a glass of wine as a server pass, raises it towards the company. "Here is to you all and a lovely evening "

Having found a glass of wine at some point upon his path to the spot he's taken up, Venturo watches the parade of pretty people streaming in. Princess Sabella gets a lift of his cup in quiet salute, a wry smile touching the corners of his mouth while his gaze slips onwards. The pair of Duarte and Mirari garner a deep nod of his head with a look of mischief etched on those features, quickly hidden as the man takes a small sip of that wine.

Caelis has a look of someone who deeply regrets her life choices. She spots Astraea and drifts sort of that way with her lips pressed together. The sheer amount of people have her shoulders tensed.

Apollis has joined the a shadowy corner.

Grazia drifts purposefully in Belladonna's direction, her movement regal but her bland expression unmoved. "Duchess," she greets her fellow Lycene counterpart. "It's a lovely party thus far." Her voice is husky to the point where it might be senuous if she bothered to be anything but dryly monotone.

Reyna has brushed her hair! So shiny, so beautiful. Natural curls which hang limply, the woman looking vaguely overwhelmed as she comes upon the party, having heard of it through the vine, a glance given around before she's set upon with a flower which is set delicately within her left hand, and a bottle of dessert wine which she tucks under her left arm, "Oh, ah." A light dip of her knee, "My thanks." Her hand lifts away from her waistline with a small upwards tick, Reyna choosing to go to the quietest place on the outer edges of the party, dark blue eyes scanning all the while. She did not dress up. The hair is as good as it's going to get.

Islin wanders through the sea of people with graceful and fluid looking steps. Somewhere along the line he has found himself a glass of something to drink and is sipping idly as he admires all the various attire on display and in some cases he even admires those wearing said attire. As Juliana speaks he lifts his glass lightly before taking a sip from it once again.

Sighing bit she just rolls her eyes at something said as she nodded. Looking to Juliana as the pass, she curtseys as she seems to be momentarily swallowed by the flowers before standing back up. "Thank you over hosting this event....everything is lovely and you look ravishing." The Velenosa princess winks playfully then nods. Of course after all the greeting was done, she motioned towards the gazebo and nodded to that bag on her wrist before trying to move through the crowd with that large gown.

Ansel moves to walk over to the drinks with Dominique, assisting her in selecting a bottle of whiskey, securing a pair of glasses for him and the other Oathlander. The Telmar's gaze turns out over the crowd for a few moments, scanning for familiar faces. Seeing none, he busies himself with finding a small table to pour drinks, offering one to the Wymguard Marquessa.

Khanne gets a bottle of Setarco Fire from a twilight blue wooden chest engraved with a swan.

Reyna has joined the admiring the view.

Once the Duchess excused them so they might go mingle (and find drinks), the princess heads towards the refreshments. "Well I've heard a lot about this Setarco Fire so I figure I should probably try it yes?" Astraea grins and snags a glass of champagne from a passing attendant. Not that it lasted much long, it was small and she was thirsty so down it went. When her sweet sister arrived the other white haired princess beamed to her, tugging on Barric and gesturing in her direction. Then Caelis is there and the princess is practically beside herself. "Cae! Ava. Come drink with us and let's go dip our feet in the pool....surely it has nothing to do with me considering tossing Prince Barric in."

Mirari pats Duarte on the arm, leaning in to speak to him quietly. She moves to the corner of the room where she can quietly people watch, hands folded behind her back.

"Thank you, my lord." Rue says with a quiet little smile. Her hazel eyes dart around the room, taking in everyone's fine appearances and finally locating some refreshments. "If you ate less candy, you might not feel so awful." With that gentle scolding taken care of, the Culler directs her "date" to grab two drinks of /water/. Then she's tugging him over to a shadowy corner away from the crowd to sit and rest.

Dominique has joined the among the trees.

Rue has joined the a shadowy corner.

Lorenzo has joined the among the trees.

Ansel has joined the among the trees.

Astraea has joined the large pool.

Barric has joined the large pool.

Khanne gets a blossom and flower petals of colored steel from an elegant wooden chest with an engraved dragon.

Ennettia gets a blossom and flower petals of colored steel from an elegant wooden chest with an engraved dragon.

Finding a spot by the trees, Dominique finds a table as she ooohs and curtsies. "Yes, I think I'll definitely be needing a drink." she offers with a slightly nervous chuckle. Such grand parties are not her strong suit as she waits until the drinks are poured. Raising a glass, she lets it clink with Ansel's before taking a shot in one gulp. Woosh!

Cambria and Hadrian Mazetti arrive together, insofar as the couple ever arrives anywhere together. Escorted by a few Mazetti Guardians, the Marquessa can be overheard discussing something with the much taller Hadrian striding purposely at her side. And somewhat ahead. Much more ahead, actually, which is why it is easier to hear her, as her voice is pitched just that much more. "...--to think about it some time. We cannot just wait and see what happens." And so it goes, the Couple Mazetti have made their entrance into Pravus grounds.

"Perhaps not usually, but the order of the day at a ball is to enjoy oneself, and the best way to do so is to be as comfortable as possible." Alessandro's smile pulls up at these words, but he then nods, starting to steer them toward where they might obtain the first. "I shall look for my brother," he comments as he moves them through the crush of people. "It would be too bad to miss him, though no doubt another opportunity for you to meet him will present itself.""

Duarte leaned down to hear Mirari, his eyes gazing over those present as she spoke. They widen a touch near the end, and a particular look of scandal comes across his features. He nods with affirmation afterwards and follows to join her off to the side.

Ennettia has joined the the gazebo.

Apollis, when reminded of candy, pats his jacket pocket to make sure he remembered his candy. "Oh, well you stole my candy, so no danger of that happening tonight," he says with a small smirk as he follows Rue with the waters over to the corner.

Avaline grins and considers Astraea. "Raea!" she grins, sipping her wine and moving to join her with Barric. "I assume your companion here is Prince Barric?" she asks, smiling with a little dip of her head. "I can dip my toes in, but I'm not quite sure if this is the kind of party where I can truly enjoy a pool, I'm certainly not ruining these silks tonight!

Niklas leads Princess Sabella into the party, giving her and her excitement an indulgent smile. As they pass by the booze boxes he taps her arm and moves to grab something for himself. After looking at the offerings he says, "Take one? Of each, right?" And then he does just that. Wouldn't want to insult anyone by making it seem like he thinks they're cheap. When he rejoins Sabella he says to her, "Lead the way, your highness."

Sir Alren, Costas arrive, following Bianca.

Ansel raises his glass to Dominique's, but he's not about to just shoot it all back at once. The Oathlander gives a careful sip of the drink, nose crinkling slightly, before taking another small drink from the glass. "Agreed," he says, nodding at her words. The Sword offers the bottle back to Dominique, should she desire a refill. "Don't remember the last time I saw this many folks in one place," he remarks.

Sabella raises a hand to Venturo and waves cheerfully, "Come on," she tells Niklas, taking his hand and dragging him to the side, there's someone I want you to meet!"

Sabella has joined the admiring the view.

"Princess Astraea." Caelis greets smiling. "I'll have to pass. I managed to give up my boots for slippers and I'd be loath to slide them off." She shakes her head and stands near by in her idea of what a modest Oathlander dress.

Niklas has joined the admiring the view.

Inclining her head towards Grazia, Belladonna lifts her glass to take a sip of her wine and murmurs, "Yes, yes it is. I expect it will degrade into depravity and silliness as the night wears on. We have all this alcohol, two pools, and many, many nobles gathered." She can't help but twitch out a brief smile that looks almost... satisfied. "I am particularly glad to see you here, Duchess. A true show of Lycene solidarity. My thanks to you."

Felicia grins in the direction of Agatha, raising her glass the Bear's way even if she doesn't head over to the crowded gazebo to say hello for the moment, distracted by those also among the tree's.

Barric laughs at Astraea's comment, "It is sea silk, so I am assuming getting wet wouldn't hurt it to much." He goes to get her a bottle of the Setarco Fire before they are all gone and then takes it with towards the pool. On the way he pauses by Dominique and smiles, offering a bow of his head to her and Ansel, "Marquessa Wyrmguard, I am pleased to see you." He then nods politely to Ansel as well, "Lord Telmar," a glance over Telmar's armor and he chuckles, "I fear I am underdressed now. Have a pleasant evening." And then he is drawn over to the pool by Astraea and there is an Avaline. He smiles, "Princess Avaline. A pleasure, yes, I am fortunate enough to escort Princess Astraea tonight. Truly, I had planned to come alone but..."

"Yes, yes, we can't wait and see. We have to think about it, take it seriously, and... stuff... things too!", Hadrian announces over his shoulder to Cambria even as the lead that he has on her begins to grow after arriving together. Soon enough he's moving away from the Marquessa of House Mazetti and her alleged husband promptly begins to power-walk away from her, like watching a very slow chase unfold. The sharp features of the Marquis dart this way and that, taking in face after face within the Pravus-hosted gathering. Dressed in green, black, and gold with his sword cloak thrown over one shoulder Hadrian's hands smoothly transition to the small of his back where they clasp together. With a pace that begins to slow, Hadrian lifts one hand from his back to point a gloved finger toward Caelis, "There you are!" and onward he keeps walking without pause.

Avaline has joined the large pool.

Khanne walks into the garden area with her head held high. Her wine-red hair is pulled up and off her back and neck, held in place with a thong of feathers. This manner of wearing her hair exhibits her elegant and bare, porcelain-skinned back which is beautifully framed by deep black lace. She perhaps does not look quite like she normally does in way of dress, but, seems comfortable and even confident in her skin. Looking about as if trying to spot someone, her lips twist, perhaps not finding them. She does, however, see Venturo there and heads over towards the brewmaster, wearing a smile.

Khanne has joined the admiring the view.

Juliana smiles at Duarte, touching his arm. "Thank you for coming Count." a flicker of amusement and wink towards Mirari as the two pass. Turnuing to Cadenza "Thank you, your Highness, it is the least I could do. You look breathtaking." Islin gets a bow from the Pravus girl in return before she peeks back over her shoulder to smile a moment to Belladonna before looking back to the others. "Please do not be shy to dance, this is a ball. And don't forget to take a look at the wonderful items that our Pravus craftmen and women, and of course others of Arx have made for your bidding"

Looking up towards Barric, Dominique seems to relax now that she has some alcohol flowing through her system. "I see you did not come alone as previously advertised." she quips, hrmming for a few moments. "But it is nice to see you." making no comment on his clothing though she does raise her brows. "Though I thought the bet had something to do with you also carrying Elvesbane?"

Agatha was JUST ABOUT to set Ennettia down when she calls out to a Duchess. Agatha turns, still carrying Enn. Which of course means the other woman's feet are swinging about, gown trailing. She can't really wave to Grazia without potentially causing an international dropping incident, so she inclines her head. "How do you see anyone in this crush of folks? That's impressive!" But then they're on their way to the gazebo, so she waits until they're inside where she can stand Ennettia up atop a bench, the better to enjoy a Very tall vantage point. "So. Naked guy and roses. What else am I missing?" A Felicia apparently. Arms newly free, she reaches over to hug her friend. "LITTLE RED! How are you? Are you going on Violet's rabbit hunt?"

Barric looks curiously at Dominique, "There was no bet." He says confusedly.

a tiny man with a BIG unpronounceable name, 1 Telmarine Armsmen arrive, following Monique.

Look it's a stray cat -- oh, no, don't be silly. It's just Karadoc Saik. He seems to favor a certain feline theme, however, as he slinks in on the heels of another, more obviously noticeable party-goer that is arriving. He snatches a glass of white wine from a servant drifting by with a shimmering silver tray, smiles, and steps quickly over to find a decent place that allows for the best people-watching.

"Prince Barric," replies Ansel, politely, seeming to miss the comment about the armor, because Oathlander. How else does one dress for a party? Pfft. His attention returns to the group among the trees as the Wyrmguard engages the Prince in conversation. "Prince Lorenzo, I don't believe I've had the pleasure," greets the Telmar, bowing head and shoulders politely. "Ansel Telmar," he offers.

"Oh my misunderstanding. My memory is foggy. My apologies, your highness" Dominique offers with a low curtsy.

Grazia lifts her glass in a toast to Belladonna, her mouth curving into what almost could be called a smile. "Indeed. To Lycene solidarity. The more unified the Lyceum is, the stronger we all are," she agrees pleasantly enough. "I have been looking forward to the ball. Thank you for inviting us all."

"Oh I understand Cae. You look radiant tonight and I wouldn't dare. Once you've done the rounds we'll be drinking by the pool." Astraea kisses both of her cheeks and wanders over with Avaline and Barric. When the prince returns with the bottle of libations she smiles,"You're far too thoughtful Barric, thank you." When the hem of her dress is hiked up she is revealed to be wearing matching slippers that are easily removed and in the foot goes. "Avaline did you come with anyone? Where's your hubby ever?"

Karadoc has joined the a shadowy corner.

Caelis blinks at the pointing. "I am not above having someone put snails in your shoes." She informs Hadrian as he continues walking. Though she looks over him keenly, like she's reassuring herself he's fine. The keen look in her eyes diverted when she's spoken to again and she looks to Astraea and blinks again at cheek kisses. "I've worn it before." She mumbles with a flush and spots Antonio, beating a retreat to greet the sailor.

"Watch the hair, Bear! It took my sisters an hour to make it behave!" Felicia protests to Agatha with a laugh, not that it stops her from hugging the taller redhead back fiercely,"Yes, I'm going to go torment some more bunnies with her. And I'm doing good. Look, see? Dress. Figured I should at least wear a dress, but I'm jealous of his leathers." she's got no qualms pointing out Antonio, nope. Jealous. Still, once she hugs Agatha she grins,"I'll catch up with you in a bit, or rabbit hunting, if not then, yes?"

Turning to chat with the others in her immediate area, Dominique ahhs and curtsies low at some of the introductions. "A pleasure to meet you, Prince Lorenzo." She would use your highness, but then that would be super ambiguous in such an environment. "Dame Felicia." she continues with another curtsy and bow. "Would either of you care for a drink?" she asks, motioning towards what Ansel brought on over.

Raising her glass as well, Belladonna gives a subtle nod, "To Lycene solidarity. No matter how much we bicker and fight amongst ourselves, to an outside force we are a wall." Her sapphire gaze casting out around the garden, she watches folk here and there, smiling towards Juliana when her cousin looks her way, then nods to Grazia and murmurs, "It was a far better turn out than even I had hoped. And you are quite welcome, of course."

Ennettia laughs when Agatha leaves her atop the bench, adjusting her skirts jest so before taking the moment of higher vantage to let her eyes skim through the throng of people. They stop on a few notable faces: Belladonna Pravus, hostess; Avaline, Astraea, and Apollis, alliterative in-laws; Niklas, friend of princesses everywhere; Duarte and Mirari off to the side being secretive - they earn a waggle of her fingers and a blown kiss in their direction - and-- wait, is that? Blinking slowly, Ennettia steps down from the benches, "Do excuse me, dearest companions. I think I saw a slinking tom in need of being pushed in a pool." A lazy wave of her hand, and she begins making her way through the crowd without a further word, heading towards where she last saw Karadoc.

Cambria seems to sigh, then she lifts a hand and waves it at Hadrian's back in an irritated manner. She almost looks glad to see him go. It seems as if she were going go her own way, when instead she cuts a path in the same direction Hadrian had taken, eventually finding herself in the same vicinity as Caelis. Sidling uncomfortably close to the Marquis, Cambria asks, "So which cousin is this?"

Tabitha has joined the admiring the view.

And so Antonio goes to skulk. And where's the best place to skulk? The shadowy corner of course.

Grazia raises a hand in acknowlegement of Agatha's greeting, bowing her head briefly to the Redrain princess but remaining where she is, near the hostess. She takes a sip of her wine and scans the crowd. "Quite the turnout. I see people from all fealties here and there, mingling and drinking and looking over one another's dates jealously," she remarks to Belladonna with a measure of amusement.

Islin is still wandering about when he catches sight of what appears to be a man wearing...nothing at all. Blue eyes widen a touch and he grins merrily. He lifts his glass to Barric in a playful sort of salute as he decides to approch the other man and mingle properly. "And here I thought the clothes didn't come off until AFTER the party...or until people were properly drunk." His tone is teasing as he drops into a respectful bow with easy grace. "Forgive the intrusion, but you looked interesting so I wanted to meet you. Lord Islin Harthall, at your service." A charming smile is offered here.

Duarte laughs! at something Mirari murmurs to him. They have been whispering softly to each other for some time now. "No! I shan't. Your wiles will not work on me, my dear Mirari!" He averts his gaze with defiance.

Ennettia has left the the gazebo.

Ennettia has joined the a shadowy corner.

Agatha is in danger of undoing the sisters' work. But she /tries/ not to do any more harm at least. "I wish I'd known it was okay to wear my leathers. But at least it's just one evening and I found pants! I'll come out and help the two of you with the rabbits. See you later, Little Red!" Then Ennettia is sliding buy to go ... "Did she say push someone in a pool?" She's following the direction of her movements, just hoping to get to see a giant splash. But she does chatter a bit with those in the gazebo as well.

Jordan walks in a bit uncertainly, his alaricite sword sheathed at the right of his swordbelt as he steps in. No armor, no, he's clad in a silk shirt, silk trousers, and a pair of fashionable boots. All very form-fitting and incredibly Lycene. He tilts his head for a moment, then starts his way to the corner.

Jordan has joined the a shadowy corner.

Monique slips into the party, wearing the flaming colors of a Phoenix risen from the ashes. With her crimson hair, she's hard to miss, and the Minx takes a pause to look around, wide-eyed and impressed. And to get whiskey. Must not forget the whiskey.

Ennettia is given a big smile and a wave from the poolside tables. She does her best not to look like a lush with the giant bottle of liquor in her hands. Still, the princess manages to get the top off and has poured several glasses. All of the kinsman she hadn't spotted before are blown kisses or hugged if close enough. Agatha, Echo when she makes her appearance, and of course Elgana. Then she's promptly back in the conversation with her older sister and the Grayson Prince, sipping away.

Off speaking in a tucked away place, Venturo pauses just long enough in the conversations with a handful of others to lift his glass in a silent salute to Monique. The Mynx gets a wry smile flashed her way, before he turns to the quiet talk at hand.

"That one? Caelis, my cousin, Princess-Consort of Sanctum. Very hard worker, dependable, gets the job done as they say," Hadrian says even as he continues his trek beyond Caelis with Cambria working to catch up to his quickened pace. Then abruptly the Marquis-Consort of House Mazetti comes to a halt, whirls about to face Cambria and he clasps his hands again at his back, "Would you stop following me? You didn't wear that dress I suggested that looks like a fishermen caught a fish gems in his net. It would have perfect for a Spring ball". Hadrian exhales an exasperated sigh before he turns away quickly and continues in his march toward his ultimate destination: Belladonna.

Derovai gets a bottle of Setarco Fire from a twilight blue wooden chest engraved with a swan.

"Ah, well, the trick is to drink just enough that you can't feel your feet." Margret says as she snags two drinks from a passing server, and hands one to Alessandro, "But not enough that you can't walk or make a fool of yourself." She takes a sip from her glass, and when she spots Monique coming in she lifts her hand from Alessandro's forearm briefly to wave. Then she asks Alessandro, "Where would your brother normally be in something like this?"

Bianca stepped into the garden, her attention immediately drawn upward to the twinkling rainbow of lanterns that illuminated the affair and relying a bit further on the arm twined with that of Costas Voducce. It was always a wondrous atmosphere at a Lycene party after all. After a few slowed paces, it was a familiar voice that drew her out of revelry and caused the pale brushstroke of brow to rise in a high arch. Dominique! At that point, poor Costas would more likely than not need to be adjusting his pace accordingly... as this was probably the fastest the Archscholar had ever moved at a social event. Weaving her way in and out of the throng of party goers, a few nods and small smile were offered to a variety of individuals, but inevitably her attention fell to her cousin upon reaching the Marquessa.

Having made her way inside just a liiitle bit late, Echo flashes a warm smile to all the people around. Wow, there's a lot of people. After catch Astraea's kiss and making a splendid show of it, her footsteps come to an abrupt spot at the shadowy corner of the room where she narrows her eyes, squinting in the dark. "'Pol? Is that you?" A brief pause was given before she crooked a finger at Ennettia. "Nettie..? Is that you?" It didn't take long before the knight-princess was practically draping herself over the woman. "It's been /so/ long! How have you been?"

2 Grimhall House Guards, Gustav, a gruff Islander advisor, Vanora arrive, following Valdemar.

Reyna stands off, admiring the view, having just moved in to stand closer to Tabitha whom she leans over to speak to, the bottle of setarco hold held in her right hand by it's neck, no doubt soon to be cracked open and drunk straight from the bottle. All in good time, though.

Bianca has joined the among the trees.

Apollis waves toward Echo with a small smile. He sits with Rue in the corner and looks a little under the weather.

Costas has joined the among the trees.

Antonio has left the a shadowy corner.

Caelis watches Hadrian and Cambria as he carries past and looks about. "Good evening, cousins." She finally offers and goes to find something to drink as she looks around at the press of the crowd. Retreating to refreshments isn't likely the best idea to avoid people but Caelis is looking like she wants a wall at her back.

It must be because of years of battle training does she find herself constantly scanning the crowd even as she has an amicable chat with those amongst the trees. Still, upon seeing Bianca, Dominique chirps up as she beams, "Bianca! It has been a while!" she beams brightly, opening her arms wide for a warm embrace.

Gino, a surly sailor, 2 House Velenosa Guards leave, following Antonio.

So much being on time. Jorygg had to take care of a couple things at home before coming to the ball. Mostly making sure his son obeyed the rules he set down by his caretaker before taking a much needed night out. He even makes time to put on decent clothes. Mostly something equally decent, all fox furs and leather. He's smoking his pipe when he walks inside, puffing lightly and looking about. "Huh, she's not here." he utters, frowning a touch. Well, now it just got a little awkward for the Crovane, but he seems to be making the attempt to make the best of it, starting to roam about.

Derovai strolls in, dressed in black silks. He takes a bottle of Setarco Fire from the attendants, tucking it under an arm casually as he makes his way in. He's made some effort to fix his hair, but he's never been able to do very much with it. Now's no exception, it seems. He waves off the offer of a metal flower, finding a place off to the side to plant himself, arms folded, bottle now dangling from a silk-gloved hand, content to observe for the moment.

With an amused curl playing at one edge of his otherwise illegible, leathery visage Costas kept a long-legged pace with the darting Archscholar, his umbral formalwear casting the swordsman as a dark shadow in Bianca's pale wake. He drew up alongside the holy woman, favoring her embrace with Dominique with a thoughtful grin for a moment before turning his stormblue gaze out over the crowd in idly scrutiny.

Cadenza gets a special edition vintage bottle of Lenosian red wine from a blood red wine bag.

Ennettia chatters with Karadoc, a lazy smile on her face, before suddenly she is wearing a new Echo shawl! The latest in fashion, truly. A laugh escapes as she gives a gentle push, "Echo, dearest! I've been adjusting to this Arx life. But I've been here weeks and weeks and you positively must stop by the estate to see the little savage or myself. You may even chase him to your Northern home. Just do be sure there's nothing fragile." Even as she chatters with Echo, one eye slants towards Karadoc, before looking back to Echo.

"I hardly felt that it was the most appropriate dress in my..." Cambria's eyes dart left, then right. Her expression is a mixture of annoyance as well as bemusement. Undoubtedly annoyed because she was not entirely certain of exactly what it was she wanted to say. "Anyway... You do not get to tell me what to wear. Or where to go." She turns her nose up in a haughty manner, and promptly takes her departure. In the opposite direction of Hadrian himself.

Alessandro takes the drink with his empty hand, taking a sip. "Ah, is that so?" he replies when Margret speaks. "I shall endeavor not to embarrass you then, my lady." He scans the surroundings, catching sight of Monique when Margret waves to her, and inclines his head to her, slightly more than a nod but not really a bow. He's still looking, though, and a little, "Hm..." escapes him, before his expression clears as he spots Lorenzo among the trees. "There he is," he says, pointing him out to Margret, before he waves to his brother, starting in that direction, though seemingly in no hurry.

Chuckling softly, Belladonna leans in ever so slightly to murmur something to Grazia, straightening up as she watches the goings-on, her eyes drifting from one group of people to next. "Yes, it does seem so, doesn't it? Lyceum, Grayson, I see Valardin fealties, Redrain... I don't believe I see any of Thrax here, but they -did- have the unfortunate timing to schedule a dinner even shortly before the party began. So perhaps they'll be along soon." She lifts her glass towards Hadrian when the Marquis approaches, "My lord. Thank you for attending our little Spring get-together. Duchess Grazia Rubino, I'm sure you've already met Marquis Hadrian Mazetti."

Mirari chats quietly with Duarte, her eyes darting to the various different gatherings of groups. When he mentions using her wiles she grins at him and rolls her eyes before she points to a table with refreshments.

Gino, a surly sailor, 2 House Velenosa Guards arrive, following Antonio.

"Oh, 'Pol..." Echo steps up to Apollis' side and gives her brother a solid couple of pats to the shoulder. "I've heard people have been picking on you." Her gaze drifts onto Jordan, who sits nearby. "Lots of challenges, all sorts of terrible things, really. And now you're not looking too hot." Leaning over to press the back of her hand on Apollis' forehead, she creased her nose ever so slightly. "You don't seem too feverish. It must be all the stress from all these /weird/ challenges." Ennettia's comment had Echo snorting out a half-laugh. "Careful what you say or I might steal him away." She waggled a finger at Ennettia. "I missed you lots. Let's meet up sometime soon okay?" And then she slumped into a seat nearby to say hello to everyone else around.

Echo has joined the a shadowy corner.

When Costas and Bianca stepped into the garden, Lady Juliana, sent each a warm smile and nod, the silvery silk shimmering and disappearing around her to give hints of the blacklacy body paint gives an illusion of modesty. Turning her attention to start wandering the gardens to greet people as she can, a glass of wine in hand. "Lords and Ladies, please dance, the musicians are lovely and of course the flowers of Arx should be allowed to shine. Don't forget to glance in at the auction items that have been so lovingly donated!" https://goo.gl/forms/lcrXlPZ0U9D13Zxy2

Valdemar's arrival draws a friendly wave of greeting from Ansel, located over with the group at the trees. A nearby bottle of whiskey is offered up, demonstratively.

Niklas looks up when he overheard the Duchess speak, "Thrax here! Over here! Me! Tears in our wake, but never when we bake. Or something."

Barric stands from his conversation at the pool side tables, offering an arm to each Astraea and Avaline and assisting them with their chairs and seating if they wish it. He chuckles at something one of the two says and then he starts to escort the pair of them towards the exit after Barric puts in a bid for the auction.

Barric has left the large pool.

Apparently the wiles worked after all, as Duarte finds himself doing Mirari's bidding. He heads to the refreshment table and dutifully prepares a glass of wine - even taking a sip of it first himself upon his return to prove it isn't poison, and then handing it over.

Astraea has left the large pool.

Avaline has left the large pool.

Avaline leaves, following Astraea.

Astraea leaves, following Barric.

"Oh, Belladonna. The Thrax sent the dumb one," Grazia murmurs to the other duchess when Niklas speaks up, shaking her head slightly. She sounds faintly amused. Her whiskey-hued gaze falls on Hadrian and she nods. "Yes, we're acquainted. We've been conducting some business together, but it's on hold at the moment," she remarks, then takes another drink of her wine.

The Lady Vanora Pravus is double booked it seemed, but wanders into the party on Valdemar's arm before fashionably late turns into rudely late. "This one is a bit fancier but not necessarily formal. It can be a study in contrasts, this evening. Come." She nods towards Belladonna and the pair approaches. Vanora leans in to her cousin to give an airy kiss to each cheek, once she can do so without interrupting. There's a curtsy to follow it. "Cousin Belladonna. You look radiant. I heard you wondering about an Isles contigent? I've brought you one myself." The incline of her head indicates the looming man at her arm. "Lord Valdemar Grimhall, heir to Grihem's Point, this is Duchess Belladonna Pravus of Setarco."

Agatha hears something about Thrax, and Niklas is crying out, and she leans out of the gazebo to shout, "I don't know if that's true. I've heard a lot of people talking about broken teeth and hardtack. Does that count as baking?" Maybe if she keeps half hanging out of the gazebo, she'll fall, and then she can change. Still hasn't managed to ruin the silk, but she's working on it bettors!

Islin sighs as his first attempt to mingle falls flat. Shaking his head in bemusement he finishes off his drink and continues to prowl about. His gaze scans over those present and he flashes a charming grin. "Is anyone here daring enough to dance with a stranger? I would be delighted to have a partner if anyone has the courage." His tone is light and playful, his grin roguish as he looks for those who might allow him a dance or five.

Having slipped out for a brief moment, Antonio slips back in, pulling the edges of his coat tight around him. Yes, it's nearly summer, but perhaps he's still cold.

Margret laughs outright and shakes her head, her loose red curls bobbing a bit with the movement. "I was more concerned about embarrassing you, your highness. But I appreciate the thought." Her attention turns to Lorenzo when Alessandro waves to him, and she smiles a touch before she limps along with Alessandro as they make their way in that direction.

Talyan, a frazzled apprentice arrives, following Saya.

Unobtrusively as can be comes in another noblewoman, presumably. Prisila is graceful, calm, collected and seems assured of herself when she enters and manages to keep her head down. A few people are spoken to softly on the way, always with a sly smirk on her lips. Yet only when she's reached Jorygg's side does the dusky skinned woman come to a pause, appearing as if she were trying to find someone she were looking for when she leaned in,"Have you seen my date? Tall, handsome, kind of brooding?"

Islin has joined the the gazebo.

Sabella raises a hand to wave to Vanora and Valdemar when they come in, giving them bright smiles and then leaning in to murmur something to Niklas, hand still on his arm.

Belladonna lifts her glass towards Niklas with a confused but polite smile upon her face as she calls out, "My mistake and apologies then, my lord!" She sends Grazia a -look- and quickly buries her nose in her wine glass. Once she's taken a sip, she gives a nod, watching Barric escort the two ladies from the party with a small tsk, "And he leaves so quickly. Such a shame." Looking back to Grazia, she murmurs, "He is quite good at proposing business ventures, I've been working with him on a few tasks myself." She puts on a warm smile for Vanora and greets her cousin with a kiss to the cheek. "Thank you, my dear. You look lovely as ever yourself! And welcome, Lord Grimhall, we are so very pleased you could attend tonight. Please, help yourself to a party favor from one of the two chests. Drink, dance, enjoy yourself. And if you feel generous, place a bid on one of the items my cousin Juliana worked so hard to have ready for everyone."

Hadrian offers a polite dip of the chin toward Belladonna before he glances aside to Grazia with a subdued smile, "Oh yes, we've met," Hadrian says with a polite nod toward Grazia at that point. Then Hadrian moves to stand closer to both Belladonna and Grazia as he turns his attention over the gathered crowds, "I see varying levels of effort. Some impressive, most not. A perfect party, I suppose. Thank you, Duchess, for House Pravus' hosting of it". Hadrian's hands move to clasp at the small of his back as he leans in to exchange a quiet word with the Duchess of Setarco.

Duarte places a hand on the small of Mirari's back and remarks to her casually. "I dare say it is quite getting crowded. Care to step away with me for a small bit?"

Mirari nods to Duarte, finishing off her glass of wine and setting it aside.

Derovai looks up at Prisila's words from where he lingers, remarking, "Well, brooding, anyway," before he snags a drink from a passing servant. Sip.

Juliana waves towards Vanora was she enters, a nod of her head before turning back towards wandering the gardens and those within. As Antonio steps back from where he had disappeared, her smile brightens a bit, with a graceful curtsy to the prince as she turned to look at those still entering.

Islin wanders over towards the gazebo after a while offering a low and respectful bow to those there. A warm smile is given as he straightens. "Hello!" He greets cheerfully. "I don't believe I know any of you YET but that can always change. And there is no time better for doing things than the present. I'm Lord Islin Harthall and its a pleasure to meet you all."

Sonnet, a silver tabby kitten, Lumen arrive, following Tomwell.

Aurus Wyrmguard ventures into the garden manor, resplendent in an austere white tunic and coat that leaves him dappled in the rainbow light. He glances around, idly manuevering for some of the refreshments, spearing something or another on a toothpick like a lance. Wandering further inwards, he sweeps the auction items with an interested look, but finding the form of Bianca, he makes an arc-line for her and those with her, smiling radiantly. "Ah-ha! Bi-ANCA!! Out of the dusty stacks, I see!"

Isabetta arrives to the garden un-escorted and starts to look around. "Lovely," she remarks and then pouts a little, "But it is missing something, I dare say I need a date." She's talking to herself. Again. "Luckily I brought honey." And she did, if only a small dollup on a piece of toast. "Sure to land me a bee or a bear." And she walks deeper into the garden.

Saya, surely, does not belong here. But here she is none the less. The eccentric (we're being nice) tailor slips in quietly. She tugs at the draping sleeves of her river hued silks. She does stop, however, just outside the doors to the walled garden. Hazel eyes wide, and slightly glossy as they take in the crowd.

Niklas offers the Duchess of Gemecitta a wide smile and a wave. "Better the dumb one than the consistently tedious one, I always say." He opens his bottle of Setarco Gold and lifts it toward Agatha. "A lost tooth is no cause for tears, your highness. And on a long ship voyage a few missing teeth is a good way to make some new friends!"

Jorygg gives a bit of a wave around the area. "I'm pretty sure you'll be able to find more than a couple people who fit that particular bill." The Crovane remarks with a light smile, chewing on the end of his pipe. "Brooding though? Can't say that's me. Doubt I'm the brooding type. Waste of time, brooding." Turning to face her, he beams a bit. "You had me worried, thought I was being stood up. But, I realized I don't really know anyone here. Thought it'd be a good idea to start meeting people but..." he exhales a breath. "Seems to be a bit harder than it looks."

Engaged in conversation, Venturo's glass is lifted towards the departing Duarte and Mirari, a look of playful mischief cast towards the pair, but it's back to the group at hand he settles in with, offering a handful of quiet words.

Alessandro had been going over that way, of course, but suddenly seems to have a change of heart. Perhaps it's the talk of embarrassment, though that may not bode very well for what he suggests next if true. "Would you care to dance first, my lady? Perhaps we should make the most of it before our faculties are too impaired to attempt." There's that hint of teasing in his tone at this.

Alessandro has joined the the dancefloor.

Orland, Mirari leave, following Duarte.

Margret has joined the the dancefloor.

Vanora's hand lifts to return Juliana's wave, smiling at her cousin but not deigning to interrupt her in party planning flow. She notes Sabella's wave of greeting and returns it with a smile, there is a nod for Niklas as well but she does not impose her presence on them either. Prisila briefly catches her attention, a curious look from frosty green eyes but nothing further. "Wine makes the best party favor. Need something good to chase all that rum." She teases towards Valdemar before acquiring herself a drink.

Margret finishes off the drink in her hand, and puts it on the tray of a passing server before she lets Alessandro guide her towards the dance floor.

Setting her drink down by Ansel for another refill, Dominique takes in a long and deep breath, needing more of that liquid courage to remain amicably social when surrounded by so many people. Hearing a familiar voice, she glances in the direction of Aurus and smiles brightly.

As if she were impressed by Derovai's snark, the woman slowly peered at him as the corners of her mouth twitch. It's fleeting though, perhaps one might even call it the faintest ghost of a smile. No words were offered though as she coolly looks him over and turns back to Jorygg. "When I make a promise I keep it. As hard as that may be to believe from a lycene-prodigal-pirate lady." Prisila's smile, if it could be called that, widens a bit when Vanora catches her russet gaze.

Kyan, a long-legged silver tabby-cat arrives, delivering a message to Grazia before departing.

Juliana's smile and cursty are returned with a dip of his head and a small smile of his own- though Antonio seem somewhat withdrawn, quiet.

Echo has left the a shadowy corner.

Listening to Vanora as he enters with her, he nods slightly at her words, but does not say anything in return. When they approach Belladonna, he bows to her formally, and waits to be introduced. "A pleasure to meet you, Duchess. This looks like quite the gathering you've put together. Thank you for your hospitality," he greets her, before turning to the Lady he arrived with and responding to her advice, "Then by all means, show me what is good or not. I'm far from an expert on Lenosian wines, so I will have to take your word for it."

Did someone say honey? Echo, the seasoned Bear Scout, emerged from the shadowy corner of the room to step on over to Isabetta's side, snaking an arm around the woman's waist. "Why are you bringing honey out here?" She asks with a curious tilt to her head. "There's a /lot/ of bears out here tonight."

Agatha waves an .. OH NO, she has a tragically empty hand of alcohol. There's a brief, stern look at the people in the gazebo passing around a bottle of something. There's not quote profound disappointment in her features when she looks at Niklas, but some shallow dismay is evident. "I think I need to send someone on a whiskey hunt before I can answer you about the woefully tearful nature of that one squire that one time! Even baking. Perhaps you should arrange a baking contest to see if you could find someone to make something so awful it brought us to tears, though!"

Gia the peregrine falcon arrives, delivering a message to Karadoc before departing.

Monique gets a bottle of Setarco Fire from a twilight blue wooden chest engraved with a swan.

Bianca inclined her head to Dominique, some touch of subtext not particularly lost on her. "Of course." She fell quiet then as she was wont to do in the midst of gatherings of this capacity, attention drifting as Aurus approached and her smile moving beyond its usual polite gentility into something greater. Her grin lit up her features. "It is not /that/ rare." She chuckled, turning from the group within the trees to offer another embrace to another cousin!

Monique gets a bottle of Setarco Gold from a twilight blue wooden chest engraved with a swan.

Jordan gets a bottle of Setarco Gold from a twilight blue wooden chest engraved with a swan.

Monique gets a blossom and flower petals of colored steel from an elegant wooden chest with an engraved dragon.

Tomwell and Lumen arrive together, the Leary Lord escorting the Whisper with a light hand at her back. "Well." He slows, eyes going round as he surveys the garden. He judges Lumen and gestures to the colored lanterns. "I feel like we've somehow walked into the center of your lantern," he tells her, glancing aside at her with a crooked smile. "Though perhaps with fewer butterflies."

Isabetta is snagged by a bear! She gives Echo the honey toast and tells her, "To entice a bear or bee to bee my date, of course, which are you do you think?" She looks around and remarks, "For a lot of bears around, I suppose none were faster than Echo, unless you're Astraea in disguise as Echo. I cannot tell anymore you know, you and the twins look just too much alike."

Grazia actually looks mildly amused as she stands near Belladonna, perfectly content to be herself. She takes a long drink of her wine, receives a message via a cat, and glances around curiously at the party for a moment. To Hadrian, she says, "It is a lovely party. I also congratulate the Pravus party planning effort."

Karadoc has left the a shadowy corner.

Sayahops a step away from the doors when Lumen and Tomwell arrive, so she doesn't block their path. Her gaze darts around, and she starts across the garden toward ... someone! But in her single mindedness, bumps into Isabetta and Echo (literally) on her way. Woof!

A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Venturo before departing.

Jorygg jerks a thumb over his shoulder to Derovai. "See? Told you. I'm not the brooding sort. And if I've said something to suggest it, then I've made myself look bad." That said, he doesn't seem too bothered by the idea of doing so. The scout considers a moment longer. "So, thought maybe this would be a place better for you than for me. I just realized I don't really know why I asked you to this. At first, I thought it'd be a great idea. And now that I'm here...hrm." He can't help but laugh despite himself. "This is why I never listen to my own ideas. Never good ones."

"Excellent, introductions are so tedious." Belladonna lifts her glass for a sip, murmuring against the rim before taking the drink. She gives a nod, her smile one of genuine enjoyment as she sees all the gathered people mingling in the garden. "I was not expecting such a large turnout. This has been a very pleasant surprise. You are quite welcome, my lord." Valdemar is treated to another smile, albeit a brief one this time as she murmurs, "You are quite welcome, Lord Grimhall. But please, do not let me keep you and my cousin from enjoying the party."

Karadoc ducks out from the shadowy alcove in which he was (mercilessly) picking on his favorite (pfft -- and only sister) Ennettia, edging over toward another gathering of nobles. He haunts Grazia's shadow. Just a few polite steps behind her and slightly off to the left, pressing a hand to his chest as he bows forward slightly. Greeting without spilling a drop of his wine. "Lord Karadoc Saik. Say it again, and it will always sound the same. An honor to be certain."

When Echo came to the ball, she definitely didn't expect to be eating honey toast. Yet here she is. And then she's getting bumped into, what a day. "Oof." That sound was totally unnecessary, but she made it anyways. Sharing a warm smile with Saya, Echo dipped her head politely before plucking a fluted drink off a serving tray. "Oh how lucky! I'm wearing one of your dresses. Which is kind of weird because I know /of/ you and am wearing your stuff but have never met you. I'm Princess Echo Redrain." She cants her head towards Isabetta. "This is Lady Isabetta Gilden."

Isabetta looks at Saya up and down and says, "Okay, so if Echo is the bear this this must be the bee, whomever you are, you are now also our date. No use protesting, it is the law I am afraid, those who are enticed by the honey toast become the date. So.. Yes Echo did get the honey toast, but you cannot back out now." She tries to take Saya's hand, apparently intent on dragging her along for the antics as well.

Apollis has left the a shadowy corner.

Derovai grins to Prisila, lifting his drink in a salute. Jorygg may not be the brooding sort, but the black-clad figure with a bottle of wine in one hand and a glass of wine in another is at least suitable for the stereotype. He leans back against the wall where he's planted himself, still making no move to mingle.

Juliana wanders, stopping at the group of those that are scattered under the trees, stopping to press a kiss to Bianca's cheek, a smile offered to Costas as she touches his arm and nod to Dominique, though shew doesn't know the rest. "Thank you all for coming."

Lumen laughs breathily, head tilting fondly in Tomwell's direction even if she's not really looking in his direction. "Truly," she agrees in a subdued done. Her dark eyes lift upward, admiring the directions as she's lead inside. "Shall we get something to drink and look over the silent auction?" She asks before, eyebrows waggling, she offers her an alternative. "Or should we see if anybody's dancing?"

"Lord Karadoc Saik," Grazia repeats, turning slightly towards the man. "A pleasure to meet you. Duchess Grazia Rubino of Gemecitta." One hand rests at her hip; the other holds her wine glass. "You have gone out of your way to make my acquaintance. It is more often people wither under my gaze." She does have a fairly intense whiskey-hued stare, which she turns on the man. Then she murmurs something to Belladonna.

Saya's eyes widen and she protests, loudly, "I am not a bee!" But she doesn't resist when her hand is taken. Only repeats a little bit more quietly, "I am not a bee. My head is not buzzing."

Eventually, Cambria finds herself beside Derovai. "Fancy meeting you at a place like this," the Marquessa teases the man good naturedly. "How have you been, master Voss?" She does not go so far as to lean against the wall, though she does join Derovai in gazing out amongst all those gathered.

Bianca leaned into the kiss to her cheek, a warm smile turning toward Juliana though she still mostly faced her long since scene cousin (Aurus). "Lady Juliana, it is all absolutely breathtaking. Thank you so much for having us." Costas then received a faux snort of derision, "It is not as bad as he describes."

Prisila steps closer to Jorygg and utters something quietly. Whatever is spoken brings out that sly looking expression as she peers around again. "Well, this is a great opportunity to work on your social graces and meet new faces. Come on, don't tell me that there is no excitement in experiencing new things?" Coyly posing the question, even as the older woman is slowly guiding him towards the bottles sitting around. She's far too lycene to drink anything open, preferring to grab a bottle of her own. Stopping by and dipping her head to Grazia,"Duchess." Then to Hadrian and Cambria,"Evening Marquessa and Marquis Mazetti." A few more friendly faces are spoken to much more quietly, although Echo and Jordan receive special attention. For some reason.

And just like that, Antonio slips back out again.

Dominique beams as she takes another swig of the available whiskey before curtsying to Juliana, "My lady. Thank you for graciously hosting this get together."

Echo's brows lift to Isabetta's comments and she glances between both her and Saya as she washes down the toast with her drink. "So now you've just captured someone that isn't a bee," The Redrain chevalier states with mild amusement. "Do I have to call the Iron Guard on you?" She lets out a long, over-exaggerated sigh before taking Isabetta's hand leading her towards the shadowy corner from where she arrived. Saya might be getting dragged along for this if she doesn't shake loose Isabetta's grip!

Echo has joined the a shadowy corner.

5 House Mazetti Guardians have been dismissed.

Saya has joined the a shadowy corner.

Isabetta has joined the a shadowy corner.

The corner of Tomwell's mouth quirks higher. "All three?" he suggests. "Drinks first. But I do believe you promised me a dance, so I won't leave before I get one." It's only the work of a moment to find a passing server and snag two glasses from their tray. White wine, it appears. "There we are," he says, offering one over to Lumen and raising his glass toward her with a warm smile, eyes dancing. "To dancing."

"Shrink under a predatory gaze, my lady Grazia? Never. A lion is kindred spirit. On the level with, not beneath, despite the ragamuffin appearance of the stray that shows up to introduce himself." Karadoc grins, gaze sharp, and he lifts his wine in a toast. "Do you have need of refreshment? If not, I will remain. Slouched comfortably, but not withering away to nothing."

Derovai murmurs to Cambria quietly, plucking at his black silk sleeve as he speaks.

Vanora moves comfortably through this garden, her layers of Lycene silks matching both the decor and the other guests after standing out like a sore thumb in several other gatherings. She seeks out one of the tables filled with wine and plucks two goblets of Setarco Gold, returning to Valdemar's side before he can wonder if he lost her in the crowd. "Here. You want to learn Lycene wine? This is Setarco Gold. Light and sweet and expensive tasting, as wine should be. It's among my favorites though not the one I like best." With that a goblet is handed off to him. "The hostess there...stunning one with the gown that looks almost sheer...that is my Juliana. A Pravus cousin, but also sister to some of the royals of Thrax." She gestures to point Juliana out for Valdemar. "A gift for beauty, whether its her wardrobe or the perfectly executed events."

At realizing Juliana has come up on his side Costas unlimbered more of his leathery mug than usual to beam a proud smile down upon the Pravus noblewoman. Reaching across the intervening space created by her extravagant dress, the warrior eschewed any sense of formality to curl calloused fingers around the back of her neck, drawing the girl into a brief but warm embrace. Some words would pass quietly between them before he released his grasp, and not before he pressed a gentle kiss to her brow.

Lifting a brow at Prisila's skipping over her in the greetings she offered to both people standing next to her, Belladonna shakes her head and looks to Grazia with a faint smile. "The man has courage, at least. That is certainly worth at least the greeting," its murmured as she watches Karadoc briefly. Returning the whisper to Grazia, she then leans towards Hadrian and murmurs something gnetly before offering him a brief smile and responds, "I am sorry you cannot stay longer, my lord, but I understand the call of duty all too well. Thank you for attending even a short while and I will look forward to our next meeting."

Cambria glances only briefly to the silk sleeve that Derovai plucks, then her blue eyes cast back out and about, narrowing upon something. She offers a low reply in return.

"My lady," Grazia replies to Prisila, uncertain of the woman's name but polite nonetheless. She looks over Karadoc once more as if trying to vivisect him without touching, to tear him apart from afar and examine all of his pieces. "My sigil is the falcon, my words 'ever poised.' Besides, it is the female lion that is the true killer, hunting to feed her own," she remarks, arching one perfectly manicured brow at him.

Aurus's embrace to Bianca is non-trivial, in that the large man wraps her up in his arms and does a requisite-twist, spinning the Archscholar. "You should take my advice, cousin, and try to get others to write about -you-, rather than the other-way-round." Upon that, he notices the diminutive (in fact, in comparison - vastly so) Dominique and exclaims, enthusiastic. Though the title is formal, its flaired in his rakish familiarity, and the spinning hug he would deliver her as well is certainly full of joy - and would lift the small but mighty Dominique quite high in the air. "Marquessa! Dom, it's been so long!"

There's a sound of glass shattering at the shadowy corner, and a petulant, "No!"

Khanne blinks and looks up towards the shadowy corner.

Harlan looks over towards the Shadowy corner as well.

"Yeah, I suppose it is, isn't it? I think I'm actually kind of bad at it." Jorygg considers to Prisila. "Sure, new things are nice an all, that's why I'm here. Before Stormwall, I had never gone further south than...well, not far. So anything I've ever heard was more or less whatever you hear from sailors. Call it curiosity. Whatever she had told him a touch more quietly, he just nods his head. "We'll get to it."

Noticing she had missed thee most important party goer, the dusky skinned woman came back and offered a deep bow. She rose and leaned in close to offer private words for the woman. No doubt it was an apology or something of the sorts. None the less she leans back and outwardly speaks,"Duchess Belladonna." Another respectful dip of the chin is given and then the woman is traipsing away, glass in hand as the other easily rests on Jorygg's arm.

Smiling back at Belladonna, Valdemar inclines his head to her. "You're not keeping us from anything, Duchess, I'm sure," he replies to her, before Vanora leads him off to see about something to drink. Accepting the goblet she hands him, he takes a sip, and nods his head a little before looking toward the evening's hostess at her direction, explaining, "Yes, I met her once before. We had an interesting talk about our siblings. She was certainly well-dressed, but I didn't know she had a reputation for her parties as well." Crashing glass does cause his attention to shift for just a moment, before his gaze returns to the woman he is speaking with.

Juliana smiles at Dominique and Bianca, nodding her head with a smile. "Thank you, you both look stunning. I am glad you could make it." glances to Bianca. "There are some hairpins in there that you should make this one bid on for you. And some of Sebastian's art." nodding towards Costas before she is drawn into the embrace of the man, returning it fiercely.

Agatha turns around to face the sound of shattering glass, once more leaning out past the edge of the gazeo to try and see what's going on over in that there shadowy corner where Saya just made noises. "Everything okay over there?"

Ennettia rises from the shadowy corner, smirking towards Jordan over...something or the other, "How awful. I suppose you will just need to be naturally charming. Do practice on Messere...Rue, was it? She is, after all, here to enjoy herself. Lead her to dance, or drink, or some charming company while we see if Apollis returns." A kiss is blown, before she makes her way aways towards the gazebo.

Ooomph! Dominique was starting to lean a little against the sturdy Sword of Telmar next to her as the alcohol starts taking it's effects on her relatively tiny form. At the loud but cheery greeting, she flashes her pearly whites. "AURUS! And here I was thinking you have forgotten about me or may have no recognized me in /this/ armor." It's not what she regularly wears afterall, and she oomphs as she's lifted up in the bear hug. "It has been a while. I promise that I won't make that mistake again, but there were things I needed to attend to in Blancbier."

Hadrian looks from Belladonna after a quietly exchanged word, to Grazia, and then finally to Karadoc. For a long moment Hadrian's bright green eyes remain fixed on the Saik, he blinks a few times, and then like a sunrise cresting a horizon a grin flashes quickly across his sharp features, "Lord Karadoc Saik, it has been quite some time. You've been so busy with duty and the rest... or... were you kidnapped? I can't remember if it was you that I received a ransom note about?" Hadrian seems to consider the notion for a moment before he adamantly shakes his head, "No, no, not you. You're here now though. How have you been?", then that question is followed by a sudden frown from the animated former Duke of Southport as he clears his throat and offers a quietly spoken, "It grieves me to know that House Saik has lost another. I am sorry, Lord Karadoc". Grazia's words however cause the Marquis to swiftly turn his attention back to Grazia whom he gives a cursory look, from head to toe. A smirk interrupts Hadrian's open expression for a fleeting moment before he turns his attention back to Karadoc.

Bianca's grin for Aurus broke into laughter as the dauntingly tall Wyrmguard lifted her right up as if they were simply children once again. Her hands rested along the man's jaw for a passing moment as she was set back to her feet and before he could break to scoop up the next cousin. "I am not certain how I feel about this facial hair..." But she released him so he could proceed, turning to Juliana more fully now. "Oh yes, I plan to bid on the Lord and Lady."

"Do enjoy your night, my Lady," Jordan states to Ennettia with a faint smile, one not entirely given to mirth, but pleasant nevertheless. He watches the Igniseri widow for a beat, then is back to murmuring something to Rue.

"I have the faint that I'm pretty damn boring by comparison to those here." Jory comments idly to Prisila. "How do people even do this? Maybe I've spent too much time around people I've known my entire life, talking to them has always been easy. Second nature, even Here, anyone new I just...draw a blank."

"How ambitious of you," Lumen takes up her own glass with a weak wrist, tilting it upwards to clink lightly with Tomwell's. Her eyes tighten happily as she brings the drink to hover in front of her lips. A pause before drinking- "And to House Pravus," the Whisper tacks on to the end of the young Lord's toast in a melodious tone, swiveling past him with a twist of her hip to prowl a bit further into the party.

Isabetta waves over to Agatha, as if nothing happened in the shadowy corner where she is currently seated, "Oh Princess, come join us more bears always welcomed."

Karadoc takes an easy, languid step back and drops his hands out to his sides and away -- allowing such a glance to tear him apart (metaphorically) limb from limb. "Your sigil is the falcon, yes, Duchess Rubino. I am aware. Even moreso aware that you have a raptor's unsettling gaze as well. It seems rather dull and uncouth to state the obvious, and yet, oh -- I have done so. A bird of prey." He yields, slightly, "The male of the species is omitted from the hunting duties, truth, but present in a protective role. Not that anyone requires protection. Which is why I'm just drinking and small-talking."

Felicia has left the among the trees.

Felicia has joined the the dancefloor.

As Lady Ennettia moves from the shadowy, possibly glass caltrop laden place, Niklas pushes away from the view and crosses to offer the languorous lady of laziness and arm so she needn't cross all the way to the gazebo under her own power. "Good evening, my lady."

Still murmuring with Valdemar, Vanora adds in a lower voice but not so low it can't be overheard. "You'll notice that many of the guests went for the bottles and are keeping an eye on every pour. I'm sure you can guess why. Habit, superstition, or genuine practicality...every party has an aura of poison about it. Even if its only the memory of other parties, long ago. You've nothing to fear though, no one knows you yet. That and the Gold is light and sweet for two reasons, its much harder to slip something in. The deep reds, those are for the brave." It's all delivered lightly enough, playful in a way that /could/ mean its naught but teasing. "Isn't the garden beautiful though? It's not quite the same as being in Setarco but it is close. I imagine you don't have much affinity for flowers yet...but there's time."

Lorenzo has left the among the trees.

Lorenzo has joined the the dancefloor.

The ballgown of roses was making its way through the crowd again....Cadenza was on her way to the dance floor with Ignacio. Looking up, she'd smile as she waved to Isabetta....Echo.....a few others she recognized as she then returned to holding that gown up in front of her to keep from tripping on all of that billowing fabric.

Ansel releases his arm from Dominique's when she's swept up by Aurus, setting down the bottle of whiskey on the high table behind him. A polite nod is given to Felicia as she makes her way away from the little group. "Enjoy," he says, tipping his glass in their direction.

Cadenza has left the the gazebo.

Sabella has left the admiring the view.

Cadenza has joined the the dancefloor.

"What is it, Marquis Hadrian? Would you not kill for one you loved?" Grazia inquires, her piercing gaze falling upon him as he looks her over. She is sharp like her falcon, and she nods then to Karadoc's words. "That is for the best. The drinking and small-talking. Are you the soldiering type? Have you recently returned from war?"

Niklas has left the admiring the view.

Ennettia has left the a shadowy corner.

Two people break from the view, Venturo holding the hand of Sabella as he esecorts the princess towards the dancefloor. Soft words exchanged, it's a touch of mirthful humor that shows in the man's features.

Venturo has left the admiring the view.

Glancing towards the shadowy corner the outburst came from, Belladonna sighs and lifts her voice to call out to noone in particular, "This is a ball to welcome in Spring and new hope, new alliances and friendship, renewal of standing ones. I do hope that nobody is causing unpleasantness that will require their being removed from the festivities for!" Looking back to Grazia, she tsks, "There's always one, isn't there?" Prisila doesn't go unacknowledged either, inclining her head towards the other woman and smiling, "Thank you, Lady Seraceni. I am glad that we could have a member of your House in attendance tonight, I understand this is the first time anyone from Seraceni has spent any significant time here. Do let me know if there's anything I can do to help the March get settled in."

Ignacio has left the the gazebo.

Ignacio has joined the the dancefloor.

Juliana looks up at Costas when he whispers to her, not answering, hand lifting to cup his rugged cheek for a moment before looking back to the others. "Good! I love that painting, Bianca, I would be glad to see it go home with you." smiling to the others. "Please enjoy yourselfs" then to Costas. "Make sure you drag someone onto the dance floor." before she slips away from them to continue making rounds.

Ennettia glances at Niklas as he conveniently places herself to be leaned on, and she accepts his arm with a laugh, "Lord Niklas! What perfect timing. Do help me cross through this crowd, would you? I am in search of Princess Elgana. Have you met her? You shall in a moment if not. Do come sit with us a moment, won't you?" SHe offers the taller Kennex, smiling lazily.

Saya has, for the most part, settled into only slightly petulant chatter with those in the shadowy corner. Though she hears Belladonna's words and her spine stiffens. She draws a coin purse from inside of her sleeve and throws it down on the ground, and without further word heads for the exit.

Saya drops coins worth 50000.0 silver.

Tomwell's laugh is bright, bursting forth in surprise before he can drink. "Of course, to House Pravus," he agrees. "Ever the diplomat." Then he does drink, to seal the toast, before following easily behind Lumen. "Should we see what's available to bid on? For we idle and active rich?" he asks, the tips of his fingers grazing Lumen's back as his slightly longer strides bring him even with her.

Saya has left the a shadowy corner.

Talyan, a frazzled apprentice leaves, following Saya.

Aurus has joined the among the trees.

"Marquis-Consort Hadrian Mazetti, the pleasure is mine. Occupied with House matters, mostly. Although rumors of any kidnapping have been greatly exaggerated -- or outright lies. I might blame my sister for telling stories. Or Caelis. She thought I was selfless, earlier. Selfless?! Me. Never." The Saik nobleman smirks, and in a blink the expression changes - charmed and sincere. "I am present, I am aiding my liege-lady in the ways that I know how. By being seen. By working trade. It's /good/ to see you again."

The jingling sounds of coins definitely catches her attention and Dominique jsut stares in that direction. Looking at her gathered group, she mutters something to those by the trees.

Belladonna picks up 50000.0 silver.

Derovai blinks as glass shatters and the coins land thereafter, shaking his head. He looks a bit askance at all that, but he keeps his counsel with Cambria, murmuring something quietly to her.

Echo waved out to Cadenza and Ignacio. "Congratulations you two!" She blew kisses to the couple before dropping an elbow on an arm of her chair and her chin in her hand, glancing around the room for more familiar faces. She waved out to Agatha, and right then there was the sound of coins falling onto the floor. "Wh-" Twisting in her seat to watch Saya depart, Echo blinked a few times. "Well that was... Odd."

Isabetta gives a wave to Cadenza before being distracted by the parting Saya but only shrugs after a moment.

Ennettia mutters, "Shall ... trade ... ... dear? ... have one, you ... several, surely. I'm told ... is a genius, ... I will practically give ... ..."

Rue has left the a shadowy corner.

Elgana has left the the gazebo.

Islin has left the the gazebo.

"Yes, I've heard enough of the stories, even back at Grihem's Point. Though I wouldn't say no one knows me here. I've seen a few familiar faces, beyond Lady Juliana. I don't /think/ any of them have reason to mean me harm, though," the Grimhall heir responds to Vanora, taking another sip of the Setarco gold as if to test it after listening to her explain the reson for its light taste. Talk of the garden elicits a nod after he looks around briefly, "Yes, it is all very pretty, though you're right, I couldn't tell you what most them are called, aside from the roses."

"Duchess Rubino -- me? A soldier or a sailor or a knight-in-shining armor I am not. I war with economics, and that is all. For some, tch, it's not nearly impressive enough. But, for those of narrow minds -- I usually pass them by in order to find company with others that see the potential in what I do the best." Karadoc isn't preening, no. Not at all. But he is forthright and confident in his words, even though he looks as mellow as could be.

Lumen might have responded more quickly, but Saya's exhibition momentarily distracts her. "She is so... talented," Lumen laments quietly in the seamstress's wake. "Let's," she wets her lip in the wine, wrapping an arm around Tomwell's now to lead him off. "We'll see if you can win me anything."

Lumen has joined the admiring the view.

As she was being pulled in for that dance she looks to Echo, waving! "Thank you!!!" Cadenza turned her gaze back to the man in front of her, trying to gather up as much fabric as possible to dance.

Tomwell has joined the admiring the view.

Elgana takes that offered arm of Islin's and allows him to lead her off toward the dance floor. "Have you been in Arx long, my lord?" she asks conversationally as they move, casting one little glance back at the gazebo for but a moment before all of her attention returns to the man whose arm she is on. "It feels to me still like yesterday that I arrived, but so much has happened since then. I hope you have found the city fair so far."

Hadrian stares back at Grazia with a lopsided smile as he holds her hawk-like gaze before he leans forward to offer a quiet word to the Duchess of Gemecitta. After that brief word, Hadrian leans back to turn his attention back to Karadoc and his grin renews itself as he offers a soft nod of his head, "I'm glad to hear that it was all exaggerated though. I won't delay you for long, I must unfortunately be departing. Don't be a stranger. You'll have to visit sometime soon to catch up".

Agatha watches pairs drifting out of the gazebo and out towards the dance floor. She chortles at her sist'ers suggestion she join them. "I think I need to hunt down the whiskey before I impress everyone with my mad dancing skills!" She gives Cousin Harlan a little nudge and grins before stepping down from the gazebo to go hunt down Isabetta. "Come on! Let's go say hi to Echo and meet people and find the not so wine stuff!"

The dark haired knight raises a hand in Echo's direction with a smile and a nod. Ignacio's attention falls back onto Cadenza as they start to dance.

Reyna has left the admiring the view.

Ennettia mutters, "A pity. Tell me if ... change your mind. One never knows."

Romina, a silent Mirrorguard agent arrives, following Niccolo.

"You are in luck, Lady Ennettia. I can certainly clear the way for you and should any stand in our way, why I've recently been gifted a sword and have only the vaguest idea of how to use it, so I will bleed all over anyone who would dare. Those cleaning bills will show them the cost of crossing Niklas Kennex." With Lady Ennettia secures, Niklas leads her toward the gazebo. "I cannot say I've had the pleasure. I did meet her sister at the tilts, though. She seemed very interested in my souvenir cup, which I still have so I will always remember the time I bought a souvenir cup."

Prisila leaves, following Jorygg.

Harlan has left the the gazebo.

Harlan has joined the a shadowy corner.

Reyna withdraws from the place with all the views, one arm hugged in along her abdomen, the wine tucked neatly in under her arm as she slowly makes her way through the crowd to ease her way off.

Polly, a steel grey kitten leaves, following Reyna.

"Is she?" Tomwell glances over his shoulder vaguely. "At what?" Oh, but there's a challenge. His hand comes up to cover Lumen's on his arm. "Oh, I see." He's grinning broadly. "Very well. What catches your fancy?"

With all the pride of a cat, Belladonna excuses herself from those she'd been speaking with and moves to collect the dropped pouch of coins. She then carries the pouch over to entrust to her cousin Juliana with a murmured, "A donation for the charity, courtesy of Mistress Saya Dalin, clothier. Please see that it is added to the rest of the funds collected from the auction." Giving a warm smile to Juliana, she offers a small nod and murmured apologies for interrupting whoever her cousin might have been speaking to, then returns to her place with Grazia and Hadrian. And all while looking as though she'd never moved from this spot. Cat-like.

Islin flashes Elgana a dazzling smile as he escorts her towards the dance floor. The coversation is kept going with ease as he replies to her. "Not long. I only just arrived a few days ago. But its been delightful so far. So much to see and do. The more I explore the more I find there is to uncover." He smiles as they step onto the floor and he bows at the waist before begining to lead them into a dance that matches the rythem of the music.

"I'm sure. And what sort of projects are you working on lately?" Grazia inquires of Karadoc, raising both perfectly manicured brows at him expectantly, as if she somehow suspects he'll whip out an economic portfolio with which to impress her. She turns her gaze back to Hadrian and tilts her head slightly as he whispers to her. "I don't even know what you're talking about, Marquis-Consort. Are you asking me to dance? I hate to disappoint you, but I'm no dancer, so I must decline. Thank you, however."

Ennettia laughs at Niklas's words, "So long as you don't bleed on me, Lord Niklas. And Princess Agatha is entirely remarkable. You should see her joust without her tunic." Nevermind that Agatha had underthings on, it's more fun to imply otherwise. She catches sight of twirling, and sighs, shaking her head, "And of course Princess Elgana has found herself dancing." The word dancing is accompanied by a mild shiver. "I suppose while she spins about you may lead me somewhere convenient. Save towards..." SHe leans in to murmur towards Niklas, one eye glancing at the crowds.

Juliana leaves the trees and the conversation there, picking up a fresh glass as she lets her gaze slide over the gardens at those that are gathered. After a moment its on towards her cousin Vanora and the Lord Valdemar. Though there is a momentary stop as Belladonna slips up to her, nodding and taking the purse, smiles then turns continue. "Vanora.." hand reaching for the woman. "It's been longer than I think I can remember, welcome." a kiss will be given to the woman's cheek before Juliana nods as well to Valdemar "Lord Grimhall, welcome."

"There is much to see and do," Elgana agrees as she lowers into a curtsy before Islin's bow and then takes his lead. Her voice drops to a soft tones just for his ears, but she isn't trying to be secretive about their conversation really, just simply polite. She keeps hold of her gown to keep it from stumbling them up as they move, her lips curved into a gentle smile. "What brought you to the city, if I may ask? I came following after my sister. I couldn't simply leave her alone in this big city without me."

Islin checked dexterity + performance at difficulty 15, rolling 6 higher.

Fajra, Valerius arrive, following Lianne.

Felicia has rolled a critical success!
Felicia checked dexterity + performance at difficulty 15, rolling 37 higher.

"Mm. I am working on new initiatives to improve the lives of any widows and orphans that have been created in the wake of the war by starting more apprenticeship programs among the higher ranked peerage and the better off commoners living the Saikland Greens. I am hoping to incorporate any refugees that have since moved and made lives for themselves -- including them in the process -- because I am of the mind that we need to create opportunities, not to constantly provide charity." Karadoc responds, languorous, as his piercing blue gaze never leaves Grazia. Just making conversation, see.

Orland arrives, following Duarte.

Agatha's steps towards Echo pause. She heard her name. And ...tunic? She looks down at the silk tunic she's wearing, hoping it's gone and done something that will require being covered with armor. CURSES, Ennettia, getting herhopes up! She looks around for the voice but can't quite pick it out yet. Maybe it will follow her into the shadows. Mind you, if an impromptu game of leapfrog breaks out? She is SO going to go do that instead. Especially if she finds a whiskey bottle. Where is it hiding now? Did Ansel take the last one?

"Too long." Vanora agrees with Juliana and returns the embrace. "I've missed you more than I can convey without sounding foolish. Missed everyone, but some of you especially I'm sure." Her smile and voice are warm and familial. "We must properly catch up, there's...so much to talk about. I won't let it happen again, falling out of touch with family when duty demands my attention elsewhere. It is too precious a thing." The words come out genuine. "Besides I'll need your help. I'm several seasons behind on the best Lycene fashion, which is obvious when I set my eyes on you. You must help me update my wardrobe and retake the town, hmm?"

Agatha has left the the gazebo.

Agatha has joined the a shadowy corner.

Hadrian sends a broad grin back to Grazia before he offers a sweeping bow in her direction and then abruptly rises up to his proper posture once more, while each gloved hand moves to clasp at the small of his back, "Very well, Duchess Grazia. It never hurts to ask. Thank you for the consideration, however. Perhaps I may give you a few lessons sometime and we'll remedy that". Hadrian then spares another dip of the chin toward Belladonna, a flash of a grin, a momentary wink, and then in a swirl of verdant sword cloak the Marquis of House Mazetti is on his way. Then he draws to an abrupt stop as he casts a nod toward Karadoc, "Good works, then. Baroness-Regent Lucita and I recently went over some plans to have the Group assist Saikland Greens with some efforts. Speaking of which - Duchess Belladonna? Please don't forget to remind me the next we speak, about how the Arvum Refugee Relief Group would like to help Setarco?"

Derovai continues his quiet conversation with Cambria by the wall, a bottle of Setarco Fire tucked under an arm and a wineglass in his silk-gloved hand. They seem genial enough, and reasonably familiar with one another.

Ansel has a whiskey bottle placed neatly at a high table, a bit behind him, so it's understandable that Agatha might not be able to see it, unless she got closer. The Telmar Sword is currently standing next to Dominique, supporting the smaller Marquessa, while discussing something with Aurus.

Fashionably late is the only time to arrive. Niccolo Velenosa moves into the gardens. Perfectly at ease at events like this, he wears a faint smile, his posture is upright, his attire carefully composed (if far from the extravagance one could see at a Pravus party). Nodding to a few familiar faces, he wades through the crowd alone at first, eventually finding a whiskey in his hand and himself near the auction items.

"I have no intentions on ever being a stranger, Marquis-Consort Mazetti. Nor do I intend on being a nuisance unless I deem it for an excellent cause. Which, I will send you details of in the near future via messenger. I did promise Lucita that I would find and pester our allies for support. Only, I didn't say /pester/ --" Karadoc's own flip tone makes it too casual. He does offer a nod for Hadrian as the former Duke prepares to depart.

Duarte returns sans Mirari - it is oh so tragic. He doesn't seem perturbed though. As insouciant as ever, actually.

Jordan has left the a shadowy corner.

There's fashionably late, then there's whatever this is that Lianne and Valerius are managing. The marquessa surely should have been here when the party first got under way, but she's only now just making her way out from the main house, dressed all in dark low-cut blue and on the arm of the handsomest of Thraxian princes. Her smile's a little dimmer than it often is, but there's a warm amusement to her expression as she tips her head toward Valerius to murmur something softly as they breach the threshhold and step into the party proper, finding the garden so terribly full of faces both familiar and strange. It might take a moment to acclimate and pick a direction. Toward the whiskey, perhaps. That seems a fine start.

Agatha pulls up short when she's just about to step into the shadows. She looks at her cousin, Echo. Her bear in training. And for a moment, there is a flash of hurt and betrayal in those big blue guileless eyes. "Echo Redrain! You.... you ... CUDDLING IS NOT IN THE BEAR TRAINING HANDBOOK!" Ahem. Outburst down, she blows a strand of red hair, well, out of the neat order it was in so that it can start the revolt of the neatly styled locks.

Even though she's a little wobbly, it seems that Dominique is chatting with her cousins by the trees and she suddenly curtsies and bows low, her head down for a fe wmoments. Reaching out to maintain her balance, she places a hand, idly grabbing Ansel's leg before letting go and easing back up.

Juliana laughs likely, the sound warm as she glances to the transparent dress she wears. "This isa what happens when Sebastian and I colaborate on fashion. I would say I meant to shock, but in truth, I am sure it is expected of me. But yes we should talk and we can see that you are dragged back into Lycene fashion." reaching out to touch Vanora's arm. "You should go look at the hairpins that Master Meadson crafted for us to auction, his hairpins has been all the rage as of late."

Valdemar takes another sip from his glass, watching as Juliana approaches and greets Vanora so warmly. When the hostess greets him, though, he smiles back and replies, "Thank you, Lady Juliana. It is wonderful to see you again. Maybe sometime soon we can begin that tour of the city's drinking establishments? I hear, though, that you are responsible for putting all of this together...impressive." As he speaks of the party, he gestures around at the room, to indicate the work he is talking about.

"I shall look forward to it, Marquis Hadrian," Grazia replies genially, offering the man a rare smile. She looks to Karadoc curiously. "Mmmm, it sounds like you have quite a lot on your plate. I suppose you shall also be rebuilding the Barony's military and such in anticipation of the next crisis?" She pauses a moment to turn her gaze curiously in Agatha's direction. Agatha is using the big letters orally now.

Niklas takes a swig from his bottle of Fire and shakes his head as people leave the gazebo in droves. "It appears that we will now be walking in circles, my lady. Perhaps I should just take you to the pool and you can float around the party." Though he doesn't head in that direction, instead leading her back toward the view from whence he came. "Let me introduce you to some people I just met. Then I'll feel quite important for the minute or so it takes you to come to know them better than I do."

"Of course, my lord," Belladonna takes in Hadrian's whirl of activity and flashy exit with a small chuckle and a nod. "There is actually perhaps something in a similar vein that I would speak to you about at the next meeting." Then her attention is drawn by the approach of Niccolo. She smiles warmly at his appearance by the auction items, excusing herself once more to go and properly greet her uncle. She pauses, however, and looks to Karadoc, "Send me any documentation you have on your support request for this endeavor. Pravus will be happy to offer what we can towards such an endeavor." Then she turns back and moves to greet Niccolo. Once more smiling warmly, she goes up to press a kiss to his cheek and murmurs, "Uncle. I'm so glad you could come by. Have you had a chance to look everything over yet?" Lianne's appearance has her smiling towards her other cousin as well, lifting a hand towards her.

Dianna stepped into the gardens quietly -- little surprise, given that she was clad in silks and velvet. She paused for a long moment under the jasmine arbor, her eyes taking in the scene, the great mass of those gathered. In search of familiar faces? Perhaps. Or she may simply be drinking in all of the bright, colored lights.

"Uncle!" Vanora notes Niccolo's arrival and nods to Valdemar again. "My uncle. Isolde's father." A nod in the direction of the man that she brings the Grimhall heir to meet, just as her cousin and Duchess has the same thought. Once close enough the pale Pravus lady rises on her toes to kiss the distinguished gentleman once on each cheek. "It is wonderful to see you, it feels like it has been a lifetime. I have been hoping to catch you on some free afternoon, take some time to catch up...but it can be so difficult here in the city. Everyone is stretched to the limit, no? I want to introduce you to my friend, Valdemar Grimhall, Duke Harald's heir. Valdemar, this is Prince Niccolo Velenosa, who likely does not need introduction."

Juliana offers a curtsey to Valdemar. "Of course, now that we are back from our.. duties, we are to do that, are we not? I am glad to see you made it back, my Lord." then a peek to the gardens. "These gardens are one of my favorite places, it is easy to make them magical. Thank you."

Scrambling to her feet, Echo fixed those big eyes onto Agatha's. "I'm so sorry, Ags! I-I had no idea!" The Redrain chevalier lowered her head apologetically before declaring, "I'll read the Bear Scout handbook three times over!" That apologetic smile was shared with whatever heads had turned her way before she slumped back down in her seat.

"I shall, Duchess Pravus, thank you for your consideration in these matters. Although, it will all wait until tomorrow. For tonight, yes, it is more about the socialization rather than the revitalization of Saik's military forces." Which Karadoc glances next to Grazia, again, to nod. "Absolutely correct, Duchess Rubino. I am also drafting plans that will start to rebuild our forces after the devastating losses..." draining a glass of wine. He switches the empty for a full one as a server with tray drifts by.

Hadrian remains in his place as he looks from Karadoc, to Belladonna, and then to Grazia. Then to a new face that seems to shine through the crowd: Lady Dianna Mazetti. Hadrian's attention flicks from her to the manor and promptly back to her. Then Hadrian exhales a heavy sigh as he seems to ruin his departure, yet again, as he waves out to Dianna and then toward himself in an effort to silently summon her over to his direction near the trio that is Belladonna, Grazia, and Karadoc.

Valerius enters briskly alongside Lianne, his expression all-smiles and dress properly Lycene with his vibrant silks. Whatever it is that his companion whispers to him has him loosing an amused laugh with an accompanying nod in agreement, and with that he immediately makes his way towards whatever liquor he can find. It's the liquor that has his attention for the moment, as each drop he can manage is met agreeably and finished quickly, but with that he's turned his attention to a suitable place to stand and accents it with a quiet word to the woman beside him.

"New faces? How wonderful. Do say they will be fascinating and exciting in that one minute." Ennettia says, one corner of her lip rising in a half smile. "And that there are seats. I've done so much walking about the room so far, and I've yet to truly rest. And where ever did my wineglass go?" She wonders, continuing her slow pace and allowing herself to be led wherever. "Are they near the pool? There is supposed to be a reserved spot for me, unless I have been terribly lied to."

Echo checked composure at difficulty 15, rolling 5 lower.

Agatha of course illustrates the lack of cuddling in the bear handbook by promptly... patting her cousin on the shoulder reassuringly. "We crush people in the warm embrace of our meaty paws. Er. BICEPS. Don't try to embrace them with claws. It's awkward. Next time you want to cuddle someone, practice trying to lift them off the ground," she suggests. The tiny mighty mite Echo, lifting people off their feet. Then she's flailing her hands a little at something said in quieter conversation.

Karadoc checked composure at difficulty 15, rolling 7 lower.

Derovai smiles at whatever Cambria said, appreciative, but at least he doesn't laugh outright, simply shrugging at her and saying something quietly to her, still cool and casual. He glances towards the entrance for a moment, tilting his head, but looks back towards Cambria, chatting away.

It took a moment for her to catch Hadrian's wave; there were so many people! But once hazel eyes caught sight of the Mazetti Marquis, Dianna was summoned easily enough. Gathering up her long skirt in her hand, she moved to his small circle, weaving her way carefully through the crowd. "Cousin Hadrian," she said, with far more good cheer than his expression could possibly warrant. A peck was planted first on one cheek, then on the other. "Delighted to see me as always, I'm sure. Why, with that smile, I'd almost think your wine had turned to vinegar. It was very welcoming."

Juliana steps back as Vanora grabs hold their Uncle, smiling softly. "Uncle Niccolo, it is good to see you." a touch to the elder's arm before nodding to Vanora and Valdemar. "If you will excuse me. PLease enjoy yourself and don't forget to look at the auction items." then slipping away to mingle some more.

Some of the wine offerings appear to have Niccolo's attention at the auction tables, at least until he is greeted first by Belladonna, and then Vanora. To the former, he returns her kiss and arches a brow: "I am surprised you were able to find me so quickly in this crowd. Lovely party." He murmurs something quietly to her just before Vanora arrives and another warm smile appears on his lips. Returning her embrace, he steps back to look her over: "It has been too long. I am mostly to blame for that." He inclines his chin to her guest, "Lord Valdemar, well met."

Nodding to Juliana, Valdemar grins a bit and responds, "Yes, we are. I am pleased to see you made it back, as well, though I was sorry to hear of your loss." Then his attention is drawn by introductions being made, and he looks between Vanora and the man she is speaking of. "Your Highness, a pleasure," he greets Niccolo in turn, the smile remaining on his face.

Duarte moves to pour himself some whiskey, giving a break to a servant - and they don't pour enough in the glass anyway! He turns to watch the festivities, taking not of the dancing with some amusement playing on his features.

Looking up from where she sits admiring the view, Khanne spots Lianne and smiles at her. "About time!" She looks to Valerius then and says, "but I thought you were my date."

Tsking softly, Belladonna murmurs to Niccolo, "Uncle, I could pick your face out of a thousand at a glance. But thank you, its really Juliana's doing. She put this all together." She glances around once more, then smiles up at him, "Its been a wonderful turnout." Vanora and Valemar and Juliana's approach all have her chuckling and giving his hand a quick squeeze, "I'll find you later for a chat. But yes, I agree." Agree about what? She doesn't elaborate, only moves back to rejoin Grazia, Karadoc, Hadrian, and Dianna. Inclining her head to the new arrival of the group, Belladonna glances to Hadrian and lifts a brow in silent question.

"Lady Dianna," Hadrian answers as he takes the pecks to his cheeks with a bright grin and then turns around to gesture Dianna toward Karadoc, "Lord Karadoc of House Saik," then onward to Grazia, "Duchess Grazia of House Rubino-Zaffria," and then finally to Belladonna once she's not otherwise distracted, "Duchess Belladonna of House Pravus, ruler of Setarco". Then Hadrian looks to Dianna and rolls a wrist as though to prompt her own introduction. After that, Hadrian's attention turns back to Belladonna, "I had been thinking recently how great that I thought both of you, Duchess Belladonna and Lady Dianna, could potentially get along. I wanted to introduce you both specifically because I often get the same sense of you, in the other. And, frankly, Lady Dianna's sarcasm is a wonderful thing to bask in sometimes. I suspect you two," Hadrian remarks with a harlequin glance from Dianna to Belladonna, "would get along marvelously. So I wished to introduce the two of you, personally."

Spying that gesture from Belladonna, Lianne's smile brightens before her lips purse into an air-kiss sent to travel all the distance between them without any send off from her fingers. As Valerius aims for quantity, she angles for quality, taking up tumbler of Setarco Gold and drinking... well, more than she usually might, a healthy swig rather than a delicate sip. Then it's to the crowd, catching other familiar faces: a smile to see Venturo dancing; curiosity for the company Derovai is keeping; delight for Juliana, Vanora, Niccolo. When Valerius speaks quietly to her, he holds her focus, a soft smile angled his way as she murmurs something back just as quietly. Ah! But then Khanne is commanding her attention, the shaman earning a proud jut of the marquessa's chin as she declares, "I am more a thief than he is a liar, fair lady. Don't be too hard on him, mm?" But, with that, it seems the woman in blue means to mingle.

"A pleasure to meet you, Lady Dianna, I'm sure," Grazia offers, her voice husky but fairly monotone, and her expression mild and neutral. She takes another sip from her wine glass before trading it for a full one from a servant. "Your dress is quite lovely. I note you wear your house sigil."

Cadenza has left the the dancefloor.

As she is noticed so does Vanora notice Lianne. "Lianne!" Her name is called in greeting too and she's waved over to wherever the Pravus Lady and the Grimhall Lord stand presently. Somewhere not that far from Niccolo, but she no longer demands his attention either. "It's been ages. Lifetimes it seems like. It's wonderful to see you. I'd love to talk soon. Catch up. And I think you and I have been studying some similar topics, comparing notes could prove important."

Niklas has joined the admiring the view.

Seeing Lianne, Juliana pauses and turns her steps towards the Marquessa, no words at all rather rude really, she just walks up to her and after a pause to meet the woman's eyes, hugs her tightly. "thank you for.. everything." before stepping back and blinking at Valerius standing with her, blush warming her features. "Hello, cousin."

Ennettia has joined the admiring the view.

In that ball gown of roses, Cadenza seems to be making her way out it seems but she stops and makes her way towards her friends first however. Moving to Agatha, Elgana, and Echo she grins. "Well your highnesses..." Caddie winks. "I think I will be heading out. My presence is being requested elsewhere...." She curtseys low almost swallowed by that gown before standing. "Thank you for the fun evening...." Looking to Ignacio she smiles. "Shall we?"

"Thank you for a lovely evening, highness. It is always a delight to be in your presence," Elgana calls to Cadenza when she spies the other woman, giving a little smile and wave. "Hope to see you soon! Both of you have a lovely rest of the night."

Polly, a steel grey kitten arrives, following Reyna.

Once Valerius has had his fill of drink he finds himself an additional glass and turns to sipping, intent on enjoying the liquor that he'd previously spent so little time draining. Khanne's words are met with a bright grin, an easy, quite un-Thraxian thing the Prince wears proudly. "I'm afraid I've been stolen away. But don't worry, I'll plan something quite soon and you've my assurance we'll make something of it." What follows has Lianne speaking to him again, and with a look between her and the Shaman he hesitates for a moment before settling in at her side, his free hand finding its way to her back for a moment as he moves to follow along with her. Juliana's arrival has his smile brightening further, and with a press of his hand against his broad chest he bows his head towards the woman, "It's wonderful to see you cousin, as always. Beautiful as ever, with quite the event accompanying it. I'm impressed."

"Ahhhhhhhhhh," Belladonna gives a nod as it becomes clear why there is now a fifth in their quartet. Looking to Dianna, she smiles warmly but briefly, inclining her head and murmuring, "Lady Mazetti, it is a pleasure to meet you. I do enjoy a good sense of sarcasm, my own is quite legendary when I get in the mood. Though I believe people kindly term it 'catty'. In fact, I've even been recently challenged to a duel over it." She looks to Lianne in time to catch the air-kiss sent her way, chuckling softly and looking back to her guests. "Well, this has certainly been an eventful evening. And look, we've not had a single person end up in the pool. I would say we're doing quite well."

Karadoc leans in slightly, without making any contact, just speaking words beneath his breath toward the Rubino Duchess. Then, toward the others, he offers a either a deep nod, or, an extremely shallow bow and straightens up. Slinking away, and out, with only his glass of wine as a party favor.

Niccolo turns away from Vanora long enough to catch Juliana as she passes by with another smile. "I was just telling Belladonna - lovely party. Truly a wonderful job." Looking back to Vanora, he arches a brow as he takes a drink from his whiskey. "Have I? Interesting - I did not realize I was studying." He replies as he lowers his glass, "But I am available when you are - I am retired, after all." He follows Vanora's wave and gaze in the direction of Lianne, and his own expression is positively beaming as he sees her, lifting his glass. How can she resist that? But he has not forgotten the Grimhall! "Tell me my lord, are you a whiskey man or a wine man?"

"Lady Dianna Mazetti, of Ostria," she replied lightly enough. The Marquis' prompt was neither subtle nor needed, it seemed, as she soon dipped into a graceful curtsy -- the sort that came not from careful training in etiquette, but a natural, unconscious ease. "Normally, I would say that it's wonderful to meet all of you. But first I ought to start by offering my regrets to you, Lord Saik. Your Baroness is one of the kindest and gentlest women I've known in Arx, and though I didn't know her late husband well, I'm sorry to know of the pain that his loss has cost her and your House." There was a pause from her then, to allow a moment to shift from the somber to the trivial. "And second, I should assure you that the Marquis speaks nothing but lies. I'm never anything at all but entirely sincere, which is why I feel obligated to inform you, Duchess Rubino, that the dress is on loan from my cousin Theron; it was made for him, but he stubbornly insists it looks far more fetching on me." Her lips pursed into a little moue. There was, apparently, some joke there -- one she expected Hadrian to catch, as she gave a sideways glance to him.

Ignacio politely nods to those Cadenza stops to talk to. "Yes, I think we shall." The man says, glancing towards the door way and then back to the raven haired woman, "I think the couch is calling my name." He says with a playful wink.

Polly, a steel grey kitten leaves, following Reyna.

Khanne has left the admiring the view.

Agatha calls out to the departing Cadenza, "Don't let messenger goats eat your dress! Remember!"

Looking on and sipping wine from the goblet he has in hand as his escort for the night reconnects with so many family members, Valdemar seems content to remain quiet for a moment. When Niccolo asks him about his drink preferences, though, he grins and answers, "Of the two, I think I prefer wine. Most of the time, though, I am actually a mead man. There are a couple of different varieties made back at home, at Grihem's Point, so I sort of grew up with it. Which is your favorite, your Highness?"

"Doesn't that mean that you're doing it right, my dear duchess?" Grazia wonders of Belladonna with a small smile, arching a brow before turning her gaze to Dianna. "Oh really? You must convince him to wear it for me, darling Lady Dianna, even if it's true that it's much more fetching on you. And it is fetching. I would adore seeing him in it, though I fear it would only end up on my floor," she notes with a curling smile, pressing a hand lightly to her chest near her collar. "You may not realize that I hold your cousin Lord Theron in the highest esteem. It turns out that my heart is not stone, as was previously rumored, but does belong to your cousin Theron."

6 Thrax Guards arrives, following Caith.

"Oh -- oh -- sorry Lady Dianna Mazetti. I heard 'offer my regrets' which made my thoughts simply turn away and start charging in the opposite direction. Spare the condolences for me. He was my cousin, yes, but we were not as close as we should have been. That was my fault. But, yes, for the Baroness. I will pass on the sentiments. Kind and gentle, indeed, and that you wish her well. Thank you." Karadoc drinks his wine, offers Echo a nonchalant wave with his glass-holding hand. It makes the wine swish and slosh. Almost spilling a drop. The scandal. After this, exeunt - stage left.

Polly, a steel grey kitten arrives, following Reyna.

With that she says her farewells. Taking Igancio's arm, she makes her way out....that gown pretty much proving as a way to make a path. Seeing Niccolo, she waved to him but she was beckoned elsewhere. Of course she would off her her thank you's and the like to Belladonna and Juliana on her way out. Looking to Agatha, she calls out one last time. "They're not real roses! You think my Fidante would let me slaughter so many roses!" Laughing she then slips out with Ignacio, giggling as she seemed to quicken her pace.

Lianne reciprocates that embrace from Juliana without... well, /almost/ without hesitation. There's a split second spent remembering that she's got a drink in hand to assure nothing spills as she hugs her cousin. "Of course, darling," is murmured softly, warmly. It seems, for a second, as if there might be more, but she leaves it be for now. After all, there's uncle Niccolo lifting his glass, hers raised delightedly in kind, a toast shared across the lawn, and Vanora calling out to her, to whom she promises, "Soon! You should come see my library. The other one. In the tower proper." With Valerius falling in at her side, that hand at her back, she offers her other elbow up to Khanne that the trio might travel together in their drifting and mingling, a whole sea of people to navigate.

Polly, a steel grey kitten leaves, following Reyna.

Ignacio has left the the dancefloor.

Isla, a small silver fox, Claudio, the chivalrous knight, Sofia, a saucy sailor's aide, 2 House Velenosa Guards, Ignacio leave, following Cadenza.

At Grazia's pronouncement, a swift and cat-like grin sprang to Dianna's face. "Then allow me to assure you, Duchess, that I spoke no exaggeration at all when I said the gown was made for Theron. But I will let him explain to you how he came to be in the possession of such a pretty thing in our House colors; he hadn't meant it to be a gift for me in the least." Mischief sparkled in her eyes, then, which she turned towards Belladonna. One brow arched questioningly. Was their hostess amused?

Leaving her seat after quiet conversation and smiles, Khanne moves towards Lianne and Valerius, easily slipping her arm into the offered one of the lovely Marquessa's. She looks past her to Valerius and smiles at him with a nod. "Good to see you again, Prince." She then smooches Lianne's cheek. "And you, of course." She snags a drink from a tray held by a passing attendant and takes a sip, not even caring what it is. "I thought you had stood me up completely. I am quite happy that was not the case."

Hadrian offers a dip of his chin toward Dianna, though he begins to laugh quietly at the comment from the Hydra. "Pardon me," he shares with the gathering before Hadrian slips away and begins to make way toward the Marquessa of his House; Cambria. Hadrian begins to make long-legged strides toward Cambria as he gestures toward her, as if trying to gain her attention. As he approaches Cambria and Derovai, he draws in close to share a brief word.

Niccolo has a fairly impressive ability to hold a conversation despite the commotion and the frequent waves and greetings. For the moment, his attention is on Valdemar, and for the archduke's demeanor they could be seated in a quiet booth and not standing in the middle of a crowd. "It is a trick question of course - why not both. I am looking at bidding on some of the wine, in fact. But tell me more about mead - I do not know much of it, to be honest. In Setarco I was raised on wine, and in Arx I have cultivated my taste for whiskey. Mead has not been in the equation."

Here comes Caith! She's late but at least she doesn't have her dog with her. Should she even be here, considering that her sister is beefing with Belladonna? Maaaaybe not? Since, well, technically the blonde princess is right there smack-dab in the middle of the beef. Uuuugh. So embarrassing. Sister, amirite?

Anyhoo, Caith swans in all swish-swish in her floaty dress of a million silk layers of fluff and she catches a passing wine glass as an attendant drifts by. She begins to move through the crowd, looking for a familiar face maybe possibly? Sip, sip, sip.

As the dance has ended, Elgana gives another curtsy to her partner before she drifts off the dancefloor and back toward someplace to sit for a moment. As she passes Agatha she gives her sister a little wave and a smile. "Have you seen the lovely lady we came with?" A rather amused look on her face as she then starts to scan about for Ennettia.

Duarte has joined the admiring the view.

Cambria perks up as she happens to catch sight of Hadrian, she concludes whatever it is she is saying to Derovai, and arches a brow at the Marquis. "Mm?"

Juliana stops to turns and face the party, a silvery ring coming as she taps a small blade against her glass to gain attention.
"Lords and Ladies of Arx, welcome and thank you, you have made this a truly wonderful event. House Pravus is humbled by your graciousness, both tonight and in the defense of our home. I wanted to give you one last look at the items we have for auction tonight and explain that the proceedings will be going to the rebuilding efforts after the battles in Setarco. A few that I wanted to point out, of course are the art pieces by my brother, Lord Sebastian. If you have never seen his work, I implore you to at least go look at them. Of course I am a bit bias. Also, you should look at the hairpins by Master Meadson, Tribute to both Gild and Sentinel, in rubicund and diamond, as most of us know, the Master smith is like few others. We have a case of 500 year old wine that was hard to get the owner to let go of! and of course, my favorite. The Voucher, which will have the next Setarco wine crafted for the winner with their name on the label as well as the first three cases bottled! There are other items as well, please if you have not looked, do yourself a favor and do so. The craftsmanship is truly spectacular." pausing then lifting her glass. "A toast to each of you, we have found our way from the darkness and moving to the light of summer. Please enjoy yourself and please dance!"

Derovai shakes his head after saying something to Cambria, straightening a little, making a little go-ahead motion to Hadrian.

"I shall have to question him when he returns to town," Grazia explains to Dianna with a measure of mirth that she has not previously displayed. She actually might be enjoying herself for a moment. "But it is lucky for you that you ended up with the dress. It looks quite good on you." She leans in to whisper something to the young woman.

Tabitha has left the admiring the view.

Out on the edge of the edge of the dance floor, Sabella and Venturo have been dancing and as this latest one comes to an end she stares up at him a moment, eyes overly bright. Then she laughs and gives him a brilliant, sunny smile, "Do you know, Master Thayne, that some people say that my optimism is a curse? But I think you have just validated my secret thought that it is, in fact, one of my greatest strengths. Being unreasonably able to look on the bright side of things, even when trapped in the depths of despair. So, thank you for the enlightening story. Even if it wasn't the one you started out telling."

Agatha is looking at Echo in shock. Again. "YOU KNOW ANOTHER AGATHA? And you haven't introduced us?" Her arms waves up and down excitedly, endangering nearby drinks. Perhaps nearby partygoers. She did warn people about the meaty embrace of bear paws.

Chuckling softly, Belladonna holds up a hand towards Dianna and murmurs, "Do not look at me. I gave a Prince a suit of near form-fitting, fleshtoned, nearly transparent seasilk just for a laugh. And then he called my bluff and wore it tonight. Its relaly too bad he left so early." Then her roving eyes spot... could it be? Well! The sister over whom she's been challenged! This is truly a treat. Glancing at her companions, she murmurs yet another excuse and gives a nod before moving off to put herself on a path to meet up with Caith. But is it.. she's smiling? She does seem to be!

Niccolo's answer causes the Grimhall heir to laugh. "If you enjoy both enough, then definitely, why not? Mead, though, is a bit stronger than wine, at least any of the wines I have tried. Most are not as potent as whiskey, though some varieties are. It is sweeter than either wine or whiskey, since it is made with honey rather than any sort of fruit or grain. If you're interested in trying it, I am sure something can be arranged sometime," Valdemar suggests, just before the announcement is made regarding the auction.

Lianne's lashes dip all low and flirtatious for that kiss from Khanne, though no bashful color comes to her cheeks. "Of course," she murmurs with a hint of self-deprecating humor, a little tease to her tone. She leans her shoulder into the other woman's, affection plain in the gesture, but otherwise falls still and quiet as Juliana draws all attention to her and makes her announcement. At the toast, she lifts her glass and, again, drinks. And, noticing her whiskey is already running low, finishes the rest that she might procure another before setting off into the evening, her attention on Derovai, Cambria, Hadrian and whoever else might be nearby.

Pharamond Ashford tugs a bit at his borrowned tunic as he rounds the corner into the Walled Garden. He glances downwards at how snug the tunic is around his midsection, groaning inwardly a bit. He's managed to snag a glass of something on his way in and now has his eyes set on one of the servers holding one of the platters of appertifs. He looks around the Garden curiously to see if he recognizes anybody... or possibly in search of another drink.

Niklas perks up when he sees Caith arrive and whispers the least whispery whisper imaginable to his companions, "More Thrax. Now we're practically taking over. Tears on a cake, but not in a lake. Excellent."

As that dance comes to it's conclusion, and those words of the princess are spoken, Venturo's smile curls into a warm expression. "You are welcome, Princess Grayson, and I would agree with your belief. And I still think you will find something to savor in the first... but another time, when you come to visit." Taking a couple of steps back, he offers the woman a bow, and his attention flickers briefly towards Lianne and Khanne. It's a server that is stopped, a few whispered words, and while that servant continues on towards the two, Venturo turns to start threading his way through the party and towards the exit.

"Most certainly a pity, Duchess Pravus," Dianna murmured in reply, the skin around her eyes crinkling as she smiled. "Though I doubt it will take me long to discover which Prince it was." And then, as Belladonna excused herself to tend to other guests, she leaned towards Grazia to catch her whispered words. Slowly, slowly, a smile spread across her face. "And what has been the reply, my lady?"

Echo has left the a shadowy corner.

Isabetta has left the a shadowy corner.

Derovai shrugs at whatever Hadrian says, not seeming too concerned by it, glancing towards Cambria. But Lianne's approach makes him look that-a-way, and he lifts his drink towards her, brows raised in some unspoken question, before glancing back towards the Mazettis.

Valerius lapses into a moment of quiet as Juliana addresses the party large, his bright smile holding firm for a moment as he lifts his glass in toast. The entirety of the thing is drained and another is procured at about the same time Lianne does the same, and with little hesitation he moves to accompany her and Khanne as the Marquessa moves through the crowd.

Juliana turns back after her announcement to look to Lianne and Valerius, reaching out to touch each of their arms with a smile. "Thank you both, please enjoy yourself." A nod and smile to Khanne for interupting and the girl moves back to turn and continue her rounds, picking up another glass of wine as she goes.

Celeste, the realist messenger arrives, following Percephon.

Pharamond has joined the admiring the view.

Ansel heads on over in the direction of the crowd gathered on the dance floor, arm linked with Dominique's. The Telmar shuffles past a few familiar faces, nods and smiles offered to those recognized before he and the Wyrmguard have finally made their way out in the middle of the dance floor, amongst a few other pairs moving about in dance.

Oh! There is her cousin! "Tomkins!" Caith calls to Tomwell, trilling his (perhaps embarrassing) nickname across the gardens as she shoots a hand into the air, all wiggly fingers. "Ha-loo, ha-loooo!" The blonde laughs merrily and starts to bounce over that way, expertly not spilling a drop of wine when ..

Dun-dun-DUN! There is a Belladonna in her path!

She kind of freezes in place, her floofy skirts swishing forward before settling back down about her legs. Oh. Yeah. What should she do? Some quick mental calculations later, she lands on: play it coooool. "What a wonderful evening, what a wonderful nice. Simply the most divine ball your cousin has put together!" She raises her glass and dazzles her most twinkliest smile at the approaching duchess.

Dominique has left the among the trees.

Juliana has joined the among the trees.

Pharamond has left the admiring the view.

"Ah, no reply yet. I'm sure I'll receive confirmation before too long after Theron returns to town," Grazia replies to Dianna, a little sensuous vibe in her voice. "I really can't imagine any other answer," she admits, folding her hands together for a moment.

Smiling brightly as she joins the Sword of Telmar, Dominique lets him lead the way to the dance floor. There's a soft chuckle of amusement as she leans in and mutters something softly to him before finding a spot to dance.

Khanne listens to the server and nods, leaning in to whisper something to Lianne. Leaving the words in Lianne's ear, she turns to smile at Juliana. "Thank you for hosting this. It is a lovely party."

Tomwell's attention is torn from his quiet conversation, as one's attention is wont to do when someone bellows your childhood nickname in a large party. "Caith!" He's offering a bright grin in return (unbothered, it seems), but makes a face and withdraws the hand he had waves and turns back to his conversation.

Hadrian shares a brief nod with Derovai, then a glance to Cambria, and finally his head turns about to his shoulder to regard Lianne's approach. He fires a charcoal-whitened smile in her direction before he again turns his focus around to regard Cambria and Derovai once more. Something spoken earns a shallow nod from the Marquis of House Mazetti and one hand slips out to press Cambria's lower back as if preparing to usher her away - but he does not move afterward.

Ansel has left the among the trees.

Ansel has joined the the dancefloor.

Belladonna approaches Caith, the white floofy dress contrasting sharply against her own brilliant scarlet fireweave. Halting once they are close enough to converse, she offers to Caith, "Good evening, Your Highness. I'm so glad you could attend. We've a few others from the Thrax side that came to show support, but I am particularly glad to see you here." Motioning towards the items sitting out that are up for auction, she murmurs, "Would you care to peruse the items we have up for silent auction? The proceeds are going towards the repair of Setarco."

Pharamond has managed to find himself yet another glass of wine and wanders over to a knot of people admiring the view of the sumptuous Ball. He's been relatively content to wander around in relative obscurity, people watching. The knight wanders his way slowly, content to let his feet lead him around.

Sabella has joined the admiring the view.

With a rangy, almost too-tall, has he eaten lately Percephon Halfshav following in Ansel and Dominique's wake. His ink-stained hands are tucked into the pockets of his overcoat, as he makes his quiet way into the festivities. The sheer number of bodies have given him due cause for some alarm, and he carefully weaves through the mingling crowd toward the familiar faces of Khanne. He does pause to offer his cousin, Ansel, a nod and a briefly wry smile. "You're alive. I was starting to you were considering the hermitage like Lianne was. Though, she likely has the better beard." With that, off he goes. Until he pauses by Khanne's side, "I didn't want the city to think that your new husband was more interested in his books rather than all this gloss and sparkle of socialization."

Elgana moves over toward her sister and Harlan, leans over and gives the red bear a hug and then yawns. "I think I am done for, sister. I'm going to head home." She gives Harlan a smile and a nod. "Thank you for escorting me, cousin. Both of you have a pleasant night." Her dark gaze lingers out over the others still gathered and when they land on Ennettia she offers the lovely Lycene lady a finger wiggle and calls, "Have a good evening, lovely lady. Thank you for coming with me." And then the princess departs quietly.

Cambria remains rooted in place, perhaps in defiance to her Voice and his subtle actions. There is instead a nod of her head to Derovai, as if in acceptance of something that had been spoken privately.

Alessandro has left the the dancefloor.

Ennettia turns at the call of 'lovely lady' - who can it be but her, after all? And catches Elgana's wave. She puckers her lips and sends a kiss in Elgana's direction, "We really must catch up again, Princess Elgana! I will even send a messenger."

tt :gives a quiet chuckle in amusement at Dominique's murmured words, then steps off into the dance that the pairs around them are spinning and dipping and circling to. The Oathlander pair soon joins the pace of the others around the dance floor, slowly at first, but picking up pace to the music as they grow accustomed to the rhythm. "Ah, Percephon..." greets Ansel, flashing his favorite cousin a grin as he dances by with the Marquessa. "Diseappear and leave you here alone? With no one to make paperwork for? Perish the thought," he says.

Agatha has left the a shadowy corner.

Agatha leaves, following Elgana.

"I cannot say that I blame you for your choice," Dianna replied, though she turned to pluck a glass from a passing tray as she did. She cradled it lightly between her fingertips, letting it dangle precariously. She pondered its contents for a moment before her eyes returned to Grazia. "He is certainly a favorite of mine -- at least as far as cousins go, and I have a very good many of those. Have you ever been to the Walled City, my lady? You can hardly turn without tripping over some Mazetti or another, which is probably a fair part of why I find it infinitely preferable to Arx."

"Master Voss." There is a warmth to the way Lianne speaks Derovai's name, as if she might actually like the man as if what follows is even true. "I'm so glad you were able to make it." Though she has an easy smile for Hadrian and Cambria, she makes no effort to pin them there with introductions if it seems they are on their way, though there is plainly curiosity in her expression. "I believe you know Lady Khanne? Allow me to introduce Prince Valerius Thrax." Reciprocating, she then offers, "Master Derovai Voss, expert instigator." Which sounds like high praise. Hearing her name not too far off, the Hermit Marquessa, down from her tower without her beard, looks back to see just who Percephon might be threatening to hand her title off to, a smile turned toward her friend, curiosity offered to the less familiar Ansel.

Harlan has joined the a shadowy corner.

Familiar with the name, Dominique curtsies briefly in front of Percephon, pausing her dance with the Sword. "Lord Percephon. A pleasure to see you. Congratulations on your recent nuptials." she offers with a warm smile, raising her brows as she looks towards Ansel. "If you'd like we could alway pause this so you can chat with your favorite." Maybe it's an excuse? Who knows?

"I would like that." Niccolo remarks to Valdemar. "Perhaps some of the stronger stuff if it is truly that sweet. But please," He gestures to Vanora, "Do not let me monopolize your time. I have some items to bid on. Nice to meet you." Nodding farewell and patting Vanora on the elbow, he strides across to review the items more closely.

Derovai steps away from the wall, a lithe figure in black, and he raises a gloved hand for Lianne -- and whoever else might be in her retinue. "Marquessa. Allow me to introduce you to, ah, the Marquessa." The phrasing audibly amuses him. "Lianne Malespero, Cambria Mazetti." He's heard the news, it seems, and adds, "And the Marquis-Consort, Hadrian." This, with a jabbed thumb Hadrian's way and a grin given the taller man. "And you all know me, so I'll spare my own introduction." A sip of wine, and he grins at Lianne's words. "Is that my only expertise? Disappointing."

"Enjoy, Uncle. It was lovely to see you. I'll send word." About having lunch or whatnot, 'catching up' seems to be the theme of Vanora's evening.

When Percephon slides up alongside her, Khanne smiles and links her other arm with his. She leans in to place a kiss to his jawline, gently, but not lingering long enough to become publicly impolite. "You mean, it isn't true? I know they do not interest you more than your new wife does, but social sparkleazation?" She pauses. "Wait, I said that wrong.... Blame the fire whiskey. I am glad you could make an appearance, love." She gestures towards Valerius then and asks Percephon, "have you met Prince Valerius Thrax?" She smiles then to Derovai. "Good evening, Master Voss." She smiles at Hadrian and Cambria. "Long time no see, Mazettis! It is good to see you both."

Too late! Ansel has already spun Dominique back around, and the pair begins circling over to the other side of the dance floor. Their orbital path should bring them back by the former Telmar cousin if he and Khanne don't relocate. "I'm willing to take the chance that my cousin doesn't disappear before the end of the song," Ansel replies to Dominique, giving a pleasant grin. "Failing that, I'll catch him in the library tomorrow morning, I'm sure."

Derovai has joined the large pool.

Cambria has joined the large pool.

Lianne has joined the large pool.

Oh god, she's getting closer. Here she comes. This is when Caith will die! She squeezes one eye closed, as if bracing for .. /something/ but Belladonna is perfectly nice! All smiles and friendliness! No drink thrown in her face, no slap across the cheek, no hair pulling! Just .. nice! Caith opens her eye again and huffs out a little sigh of relief, her twinkly smile growing into a more relaxed, genuine thing. Pressing a hand against her chest, she confesses. "I wasn't sure if.. oh never mind! Yes! I am so happy to be here and I would love to see what is available for auction!" Her wine is quickly drained and the glass set aside -- oh, passing tray? here you go *clink* -- which allows her to link arms with Belladonna. HELLO NEW FRIEND. "I must admit though, my funds are rather light. I have a tendency to just give my money away. It drives Cassima crazy; she wants to vet the charities I donate to. But, I mean, that man on the street for example, he seemed completely forthright in.." And she chatters on and on and on. And on. And on.

Graham is apparently one to believe in better late than never? He enters into the room stepping off to the side not wishing to be in the way of anyone else trying to enter or leave. He glances about to see who all is here while he does so.

Valerius has joined the large pool.

Khanne has joined the large pool.

"Oh, no, not me Ansel. I have been married off. I belong to Halfshav now. If anyone gets my paperwork-organizing abilities now, it's them." Perfectly serious. Percephon does offer any further familiar faces the same faint quirk of his lips and a lift of his chin. Like Monique, over there in her fiery phoenix gown. Or the Archscholar Bianca. Then, offering Dominique an incredibly goofy grin, "Thank you, Marquessa Wyrmguard. I am enjoying the novelty of a new surname quite a bit." Then, he redirects his attention, "Voss." A beat. "Lianne." Another beat. "Khanne." Linking his arm into hers, "I'll blame the alcohol, my charming wife."

"I don't believe I've ever visited, no," Grazia replies with a little shake of her head, still focused on Dianna. "I should remedy that at some point soon. But there's time. And you should come visit us in Gemecitta. I guarantee you will not leave without some of the most beautiful quartz jewelry you've ever seen. Currently, here in Arx, I work with Guildmistress Joscelin, keeping her supplied with a number of colors and cuts of quartz. It makes for fantastic jewelry. Our quarries are renowned. And really, we're not that far away from Ostria, just on the other side of Southport. Neighbors. Besides, a unified Lyceum is a strong Lyceum." Her attention is caught by Caith prattling on at Belladonna, and she blinks at the woman once, afixing her with a serious whiskey-hued gaze for a moment.

As Valerius' attention is driven to new introductions his glass-filled hand is tested. Taking another long sip of his liquor, he meets the introduction with Derovai with a brief bow of his head, "It's a pleasure to meet you. It sounds to me that the Marquessa has quite the high opinion, that means much." With Percephon's arrival the Prince's attention is stolen away to him, and with a bright smile he raises his glass to the man, "My my, I'd been waiting for the opportunity to meet the man who stole Khanne away, I'd say I'm terribly insulted but that would be disingenuous. Instead I'll say it's a pleasure to meet you, finally."

Cambria smiles, both to Lianne as well as to Khanne. "A pleasure to make your acquaintance," she says to Lianne. "And Khanne, it is lovely to see you again. You are doing well, I trust?" Are they walking to the pool? Yes. They're walking to the pool.

"Then I should be in touch, your Highness. It was a pleasure to meet you as well. Good luck with the auction," Valdemar responds to Niccolo pleasantly, before looking around the garden for a moment. Making his way toward Belladonna, he smiles as he approaches her and speaks up, "Duchess, we are going to be taking our leave soon. But before we did, I wanted to ask how rebuilding efforts at Setarco are going. In spite of the reason we were there, I enjoyed the city. Perhaps we could talk sometime soon, if there is any way I might help."

Percephon has joined the large pool.

A latecomer makes his way into the party. Arion Harrow, easily spotted by those that know him due to his long silky locks of crimson hair. Today those locks have been given even more attention than normal, carefully brushed until they seem to gleam softly in the light with just the subtlest of waves to them. Dressed nicely but still fairly modestly Arion is wearing a shirt of emerald silk paired with practical black leather breeches and boots. He breezes into the gardens, bright green eyes scanning his surroundings with a look of subtle caution like he isn't quite sure what to do with himself now that he is here.

In their quiet conversation, Lumen now calls Tomwell, 'Tomkins.' Thank you, Caith.

Bianca offered a warm smile through the crowds of party goers in distant reply to Percephon's greeting. Much the same was given to a slew of others more recently arrived: Lianne, Khanne as well as Monique and Vanora though the latter pair had been present for as long as herself. Distracted Archscholar is distracted!

Lianne has left the large pool.

Niklas looks up when he overhears Vanora and gives the woman an oddly hard to read look, then looks past her at Derovai and his expression grows even more uncertain. Though when Pharamond makes for the exit he muses, "I do hope Lord Pharamond got one of each on the spirits. I think he'll be disappointed if he missed out. Maybe I should grab one more of each for him."

The things one suffers through to make a good impression. Belladonna stiffens for a moment at the initial touch but relaxes into the linking of arms and moves with Caith towards the auction items. Chuckling lowly, she offers, "You thought that because we bickered in the whites and your sister challenged me that I would hold you responsible? Not at all. I have bickered with many folk in the whites, small squabbles really do not require my everlasting ire." Stopped in their path by Valdemar, she smiles towards the man and gives a nod. "Of course, my lord. Thank you for escorting my cousin here and for attending yourself. Grimhall is always welcome at Pravus, so please, do come by more often. I am sure that Vanora could use a good friend right about now. As to Setarco, we have started efforts on repairs, but the true devastation was to our navy. My husband, Cassius, is heading up those efforts. I would be glad to sit down with you sometime to discuss the various ongoing tasks we are undertaking and which ventures could use aid the most." Pausing, she smiles to Caith, "It is perfectly alright, Your Highness. Bidding is not required, but the items themselves are interesting and you might enjoy viewing them."

Hadrian moves along at Cambria's side while the conversations unfold. The latest arrivals earn a bright smile and a polite nod from Marquis Hadrian, but he seems distracted. There he walks with a hand resting at the small of Cambria's back, his pace slowed considerably to allow himself to travel leisurely at the side of his nemes...wife. As they begin to skirt the pool, Hadrian leans aside to comment something toward Cambria in a low whisper, even as his chin lifts as if to signal her to look toward the expansive pool. It's only as they begin to walk alongside the pool that Hadrian's hand shifts away from Cambria's back and both hands move to press against her. Lovingly. As he works to shove her directly toward the pool.

Felicia's over at the gazebo with Lorenzo, Alessandro and Margret, but spotting her brother she raises a hand to draw his attention, even if she's wearing this alien thing called a dress right now.

Derovai checked perception at difficulty 15, rolling 13 higher.

Color Lianne remarkably intrigued at the introductions Derovai provides, her attention rather steadily settled on Cambria. "Marquessa Cambria. It is a genuine pleasure to make your acquaintance. I've been meaning to write--" But excuses, excuses. War and meetings and far too much to do. "You had written, it must be two weeks ago now. About suffering. My curiosity is rather sharply piqued." Turning a look to Percephon, she murmurs, "It's a strange thing, isn't it? No longer having that name by which you were so defined."

Derovai follows suit as the others start walking away from the wall. He offers Percephon a nod and a quick grin -- sent towards Khanne too -- but then he looks over to Valerius. "Your Highness. It's a pleasure to meet you. I don't believe we have met before. Friend of the Marquessa's, are you?" he wonders. before glancing towards Hadrian quickly. He mutters something to him.

"Quartz? I'd never considered it for jewelry before -- though I myself tend to wear very little jewelry to begin with. The colors of Ostria's silks already shine so brightly that I've not had much desire for it. But, if you recommend the good mistress' work, then I will be sure to seek it out to admire," Dianna murmured, the one brow arched mildly at Grazia's expression. She turned, following the Duchess' gaze, to see what it was that could've drawn her attention, and given her such pause. "....Clearly, I've missed something in my long journey back home."

Cambria checked dexterity + athletics at difficulty 15, rolling 1 lower.

Arion spots that raised hand from Felicia. He blinks, his eyes widening in shock as he makes his way over. A warm smile takes over his features as he nears the gazebo and bows politely to those present. He addresses his sister with a look of delight. "Sister, you look lovely tonight. Enjoying yourself?" His eyes are sparkling with amusement and faint surprise but he is clearly delighted.

And oh look, she's spun about! Dominique lets out another soft chuckle of amusement, seeming to relax as she starts to sway with the music. Resting her arms upon Ansel's shoulders, she looks down briefly making sure she doesn't step on his feet even as their armor clangs together briefly. "I'm sure he won't, but like I said before, don't think you need to be with me all evening. There are plenty to mingle with."

"Even stranger yet, Lianne, to think that one must define one's self only and by their name. When we known that we'll ultimately be known for our actions, our misdeeds, and our words." Percephon counters with a curious little smile, auburn eyebrows lofting above the rims of his glasses. Then, he lowers his dark eyes, turns a glance aside and leans in to touch a kiss in return to Khanne's cheek. Lightly enough to not be improper or impolite. Even at a Lycene-styled gathering.

Valdemar inclines his head toward Caith, and then listens closely to what Belladonna has to say about the rebuilding efforts he asked about. "It was my pleasure to escort her. She has been a good friend to me, and I am all too happy to return the favor. I will certainly keep your invitation in mind. It is good to hear that the city was spared, but such a city needs a strong navy, of course. I will look forward to sitting down with you and your husband then, to see what sort of assistance I might be able to manage. I apologize if I interrupted, but I didn't want to let the opportunity to speak with you about it slip. Have a good evening, and thank you again for your hospitality tonight," he replies to her, then bows before going to find Vanora again.

The young Stonewood decides to just move further in and see what happens. Graham moves further in glancing around the large space as he does so glancing towards the area set aside for dancing a moment before he moves towards the edge of it looking about another moment to those there seeming to be getting more comfortable by the moment.

Khanne smiles pleasantly to Ansel and Dominique, trying to divinde her attention in what she might feel is a million directions, but is in reality far less than that. "Thank you," she echoes in response to the congratulations, even if they were directed to her now husband and not her. She smiles, hugging Percephon's arm a bit closer to herself. She grins to Valerius and says, you were bound to meet, sooner or later." She nods to Cambria and says, "oh, yes, doing as well as I can after Stormwall. A lot to do, of course... but, I do as well as anyone, I suppose." She smiles and looks up to Percephon, saying, "perhaps a bit better than some." She lifts a hand, wiggling fingers towards Bianca.

"Thank you, Belladonna. It was lovely to see you tonight. I look forward to catching up." 'Catching up' again, but Vanora smiles brightly to her cousin with the words. She bids Niccolo an affectionate farewell also, and waves to mingling Pravus cousins who might catch her eye. And Bianca, who she didn't see either, because crowded parties are just that way. "Goodnight everyone." Somewhere she might catch the hard to read look from Niklas, but probably she can't read it. There's a moment of hesitation as she looks his way, uncertain, briefly, but when Valdemar picks through the crowd towards her she holds out her arm.

Ansel continues to circle about with Dominique, doing fairly well on his feet. "There's plenty of time to catch up later," he reassures her, offering a smile. Before long, the pair's orbit has brought them around Percephon and Khanne's position once again. "Nonsense!" calls Ansel, tilting his head back in his cousin's direction. "I'm sure you'll be able to create all the paperwork in the world for me, cousin. Just need to have the right attitude," he calls over, before following the tide of the group on the dance floor, sweeping Dominique back off in the crowd once more.

Niccolo also happens to be loitering near the auction items as Belladonna and Caith arrive. He is perhaps the opposite in most respects of Caith - dark and tall, while she is fair and slight. She is young, he ... distinguished. If she is vivacious and outgoing, he is poised and unrevealing. He wanders closer to the pair, and leans in conspiratorily. "If the hostess brings you here, I believe that obliges you to bid... Am I right, Belladonna?"

"What I'll say is that despite this being our first meeting I've no doubt you must be a very impressive man," Valerius offers aside to Percephon with an amused grin that's accompanied by a raise of his glass, "Stolen or not, I figure a congratulations is in order to the both of you." Turning his attention back to Derovai the Prince bows his head once more and inclines his head aside to Lianne, "We have not, I don't think, and we are. The Lianne--The Marquessa here is a good friend. I'd intended to attend to support my cousin in the first place but it was her request that I was reminded the entire thing was happening at all." It seems that liquor he'd been downing is starting to catch up with him, and with a grin he shakes his head, "But yes, it's a pleasure."

Felicia grins at Arion before nodding towards the gazebo,"Took Scipio and Amantha an hour to get my hair done, but, well, woth it... probably? Come meet Prince's Alessandro and Lorenzo of Velenosa, and Lady Margret Greenmarch. Your highnesses, lady Greenmarch, Master Arion Harrow."

There is no such thing as falling gracefully, and yet there is a certain poetry in the way Hadrian shoves his wife into the pool. Maybe there should be some classical music played along with it. "What--" is all Cambria manages to get out before she's tumbling into the pool, which is quickly followed by a shriek before the splash. The Hydra Marquessa disappears beneath the water for a moment, her hair flowing all around her, in a proverbial Medusa's head. And when she emerges, she's spitting venom. Words not fit for polite company, to say the least.

2 Grimhall House Guards, Gustav, a gruff Islander advisor, Vanora leave, following Valdemar.

Juliana who had been in the auction tent getting the results from those retainers that were helping out, steps back out to raise her voice again. "Lords and Ladies, we have the results of the silent auction. The winners are. For our voucher of naming of the next Setarco wine, his Highness, Prince Niccolo Velenosa. For the case of wine, Mistress Rue Culler. For the Mourner, a piece by Lord Sebastian Pravus, the winner is Marquessa Lianne Malespero." pausing to smile to the Marquessa. "For The Lord and Lady, a peice done by Lord Pravus as well, the winner is Count Duarte Amadeo. Tribut, hair pins.. the winner is Prince Barric Grayson, and the Deathlector Chronicles - Parts 1 thru 4 are for Lady Monique Telmar." pausing with a deep breath. "I want to thank everyone that bid and if the winners could contact myself, we will see about payement and gettng your items to you.

Arion has joined the the gazebo.

"It's just so awkward," Caith says, pressing a hand against her cheek and clucking her tongue. "It is certainly not the way I wanted things to go. But here we are! Would it be awful for me to hope for a draw? Maybe you both can win and we can put this all behind us!" Ahh, Caith. Ever the optimist! Now that they are close to the auction items, she slips her arm out from Belladonna (likely much to her greeeat relief!) -- although she does give the duchess' hand a parting squeeze. "Here, I do not mean to monopolize your time. Thank you so much for finding me and putting me at ease." She grins at the woman and she smiles at Valdemar, inclining her head to her fellow Thrax-y. Rawr! But then there is Niccolo and he is telling her that she needs to bid! O noes! Caith whirls around, floofy skirts twisting about her legs for a moment. "Oh, are those the rules? Goodness me..."

D'aaaw. Her cheeks redden for a few moments as she gives a furtive glance in the direction of her other cousins. Oh what Dominique would give to hear the thoughts of Bianca and Aurus. She's all on the dancefloor in a literal dance with a knight isntead of clashing in a sword dance. What would her parents think!? "Well, if you insist." she replies softly before she leans in to whisper something.

"Whaaat? Me?!" Duarte stands. Shocked! Shocked, I say. Pointing to his chest with his middle finger lifted off his whiskey glass. "I have never won a thing in my life! Oh, providence is kind!"

Hadrian takes a step or two back from the pool edge and casts a glance aside to Derovai. He studies the man for a long, silent moment and then simply offers a quiet chuckle in return to the quietly spoken statement made by Derovai. The Marquis of House Mazetti shrugs heavily before he glances back toward the waterlogged Cambria now luxuriating in the pool, "She slipped. Happens all the time in the Lyceum". Then as Cambria emerges from the watery depths, Hadrian's arms cross over his chest and one hand rises up to cup his chin while he speaks directly to Cambria, "I bet you wouldn't have slipped if you wore the dress. I'll fetch the Ducklings to fish you out". Then Hadrian abruptly turns away as he begins to move off in search of said Guardians.

"You're drunk," Derovai opines flatly to Valerius. "But good to meet you anyway. Sober next time." He blinks as Cambria hits the water, standing back a little. He grimaces, shaking his head, before casting around for some sort of towel. A sharp intake of breath, and he remarks, "Excuse me," before he's making his way towards one of the seeming runners of the event, Belladonna, a gloved hand raised. "Towel. Quickly." Juliana, after all, is busy announcing the winnings.

Monique doesn't look surprised, just vastly pleased to hear her bid was the winning bid for the series. She tumbles out of the crowd in a blaze of fiery hues. "This calls for celebratory whiskey!"

"Huh. Someone in the pool who isn't Princess Agatha or thrown by Princess Agatha," Grazia murmurs thoughtfully to Dianna, watching the Mazetti marquis betray his lovely wife. "I suppose it is wise to keep one's distance from the pool at this juncture."

Bianca made no motion to hide her observation of the dance floor, a warm smile touching her lips. As the announcement of the winners was made, a short breath was exhaled. "Oh, well." Her glance wandered up and aside to Costas. "I still need to pester Lord Sebastian about the commission I won at his art show." She chuckled, "And thank Lady Juliana once again for more or less winning it for me..."

From her seat inside the gazebo Margret offers Arion a warm smile. "A pleasure to meet you."

Ansel finally brings Dominique to a stop as the music fades in order for Juliana to make her announcement. The Telmar claps politely as the winners are announced, and gives a very suspicious look over in Hadrian's direction at the sound of a splashing wife and a -very- believeable excuse. A quiet chuckle, then the Telmar Sword leans to whisper back to the Marquessa.

When she and Caith are again paused, this time by Niccolo, Belladonna smiles warmly up at him and chuckles. "Oh, now uncle, you know we can't -insist- n people bidding. I can only bring her to the items and hope that something catches her eye. Now if you want to use your formidable powers of perusasion, of course, I cannot be held responsible for that." Looking to Caith, she murmurs, "Princess Caith Thrax, this is my uncle, Prince Niccolo Velenosa. Uncle, this is Princess Caith Thrax. We had a rocky start, but I am determined that it should not stop us from becoming friends."

From his space at the view, Niklas looks between Sabella and Caith and says something to his group, the phrase "hugging to the death" clearly overheard.

Harlan adds, "Ah, yes, I'm Duke Harlan Ashford, as well." He half-grins, apparently having gotten into the wine.

As she music ends, Dominique steps to the side alongside Ansel as she hears the announcement. There's a bow of her head as she caps all prim and proper like before leaning in against Ansel once more, muttering a few things quietly.

A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Felicia before departing.

a tiny man with a BIG unpronounceable name, 1 Telmarine Armsmen leave, following Monique.

"Which means - through several degrees of separation, Prince Valerius, that we are simply meant to be acquainted. As you are familiar with Khanne /and/ the Lianne." With a twitch of a crooked smile, Percephon repeats. "The Lianne. We could also blame that on the alcohol, but I would rather not. It's clever." With a mild look toward the shove-and-dunk, he blinks owlishly and nods. "On that high note, I believe that it's time to depart. Honestly. The musicality of that shriek was /impressive./ Also the expletives."

Clearing her throat, Belladonna sends one of the liveried servants to get some thick towels for the Marquessa. Nodding to Derovai, she motions in the direction they've run, "It will be just a moment. But perhaps the Marquessa would be more comfortable inside where there are less eyes and more warmth?"

"I do hope you'll understand, Percephon, if I now find myself judging you by your words then." Lianne's eyes are wide, brows arched, the impish glint in her eyes unmistakable. "'Only' fell from your tongue, not mine. I might worry after your opinion of House Telmar if you never found fit to consider their proud history part of your identity." She blinks with plainly feigned innocence as she sips at her whiskey. And simps again as she watches the target of her little white journal fangirl fascination fall right on into the water. Nope. That conversation's going to have to wait. In an aside to Valerius, she notes, "Lord Percephon is a very old and dear friend of mine. We went on a very terrible adventure together once, and I don't think either of us ever properly recovered from the trauma." Her nose scrunches at memories of all that snow. Her gaze flits after Derovai as he heads off, adding, "And Master Derovai is always a bit sharp," but is soon on Juliana as her name is called among the winners. When did she even place a bid? Spying Bianca and Costas, she lifts her glass, smiling their direction. "I /am/ rather singular. I'll support that word."

It was not the splash which drew Dianna's attention, but the shriek -- whatever it was that may have fascinated Grazia a moment ago, she swiftly abandoned her attempts to untangle the situation. "Please excuse me," the glaivedancer spoke quickly, before gathering up her skirts and making her way to the pool. Despite the crowd, she moved swiftly, nimbly dodging other guests and abandoning her untouched glass as easily as she picked it up. It was Cambria who had her attention now -- and her hand, if Marquessa took it when offered.

a tiny man with a BIG unpronounceable name, 1 Telmarine Armsmen arrive, following Monique.

"Charmed. Do not be dissuaded by rocky starts with the Duchess." Niccolo offers with a reassuring smile. Alas, before any bidding can be done, it is over! And someone falls in the pool. He comments to Caith, since she is nearest. "Unfortunate, but that was only a matter of time. If you put a pool in a party ..."

Ennettia claps slowly (slow-claps) when the names are announced, even blowing Duarte, winner that he is, a kiss! How friendly.

Late, but arrived. That is more than anyone can ask of the recently widowed Malvici woman. Eirene arrives and hope there is enough of the party ongoing to be a distraction from her arrival. Aucpiciously timed as someone (not her) has gone into the pool.

Ansel moves to escort Dominique off the dance floor, scanning about for some of the familiar faces from earlier, glad to have a moment to catch his breath again. Something the Marquessa says draws a smile, a nod, and a few murmured words in reply.

Duarte has rolled a critical success!
Duarte checked dexterity + dodge at difficulty 15, rolling 97 higher.

"Not up to me to decide, Duchess, but I'll pass the word along if you like," Derovai replies easily to Belladonna, glancing back towards the pool with a little grimace. "I'll take the towels over. Save your folks the trouble," he remarks casually, extending a gloved hand to be of service.

Juliana gets Sage Mystery Pouch from Canvas Backpack.

Ansel has left the the dancefloor.

Ansel has joined the among the trees.

Dominique has left the the dancefloor.

Dominique has joined the among the trees.

Ahh but then the winning bids are announced and Caith is off the hook! Phew! She wrinkles up her nose at Niccolo and shakes a little finger at him. "You nearly caused my heart to explode in a panic. I was about to bid five hundred thousand silver on the first thing I saw and then my sister would have murdered me when the bill turned up. It is a pleas-.." And then she hears something! Twisting where she stands, she shouts over in the general direction that the 'hugging to the death' comment came from. "I WILL BE VICTORIOUS! MY HUGS ARE THE STUFF OF LEGEND!" That's right, Caith. Just go shouting in the middle of a nice party. This is why we can't have nice things!

Ahem.

Turning back to Niccolo as sweet as can be and acting like she did not just shout like a lunatic, she continues: "It is a pleasure to meet you, Your Highness!" His comment about the pool, here at the party, and the inevitability of it all causes her to laugh brightly and press a few fingers against her lips. If only she had done that when she had felt the urge to yell.

"None Greater Than Grayson!" Sabella shouts to Caith with a grin.

Simply following alongside him, Dominique meanders back to the group of trees, smiling in a knowing Mona Lisa-esque fashion, seeming pleased with herself.

Luigi leaves, following Hadrian.

"Many things fall from my tongue, the Lianne. Only the one that listens to me gets the choice of beliving them or not. I would believe me, of course, because I am the most earnest." With another vague suggestion of a smile flitting across his mouth and brightening his eyes to amber. "It was a singularly awful experience. Never again. Or, please, we ought to do so again. My deathwish is idling and getting /very/ bored with all of this safe and predictable living I'm doing." Percephon offers Khanne another buss on the cheek, "I am going to return to those books again, love."

"I should be going too... I wish I could stay, but I am growing far too tired, far too quickly," Khanne says with a small, apologetic frown towards Lianne and Valerius. "Forgive me?" She then turns to Percephon and asks, "care to walk your new wife home?"

"If you wish," Belladonna nods to the servants to hand over to the towels to Derovai. Looking over at the yelling, she clears her throat and murmurs, "If you'll excuse me, I believe I need to save my uncle..."

Needless to say, Ennettia's blown kiss did NOT hit Duarte.

"As graceful on the dance floor as in the ring, Marquessa." Bianca smiled to Dominique upon the pair's return, a nod dipping to Ansel as well.

"Escort you? Of course." Percephon offers Khanne his arm before Monique (or anyone else) gets ideas about pushing a former Telmar into a pool. He cannot swim. He can, however, take his leave.

Grazia slips off to find somewhere fairly quiet away from the pool, shaking her head slightly in disapproval. "How rude," she mutters to herself.

Grazia has joined the a shadowy corner.

Percephon has left the large pool.

Khanne has left the large pool.

Drysi, a young shaman apprentice, GusGus, the fluffy Whitehold Mountain puppy leave, following Khanne.

Celeste, the realist messenger, Khanne leave, following Percephon.

Cambria is busily pushing her hair from her face and water from her eyes, even as she begins to make her own, very slow, water-logged way to where she could exit the pool. "Over here," she waves towards Dianna. "It will be easier that way." Because, you know, reasons. She accepts her cousin's assistance in getting out, and she murmurs something low about accidents happening all the time, while glaring darkly at a certain former Duke.

Now, whomever else may be gathered around Cambria, the Marquessa nods in thanks...for towels or for further aid, or even polite words (for any poses the typist may have missed). "Yes, yes, I believe I shall slip indoors for a time. At least until I can dry off a bit."

Eirene is thankful for the distraction of a wet niece-in-law. She can slip in unnoticed and go for a glass of fortifying wine. She wore a dress. But a dress with a swordbelt.

Derovai takes the towels back, presenting them to Cambria with a neat little flourish, before looking over towards Dianna. "You're new," he observes, before adding, "Get something hot to drink, Marquessa Mazetti. You'd hate to catch your death of cold, especially in the summer."

If he is off-put by sudden and enthusiastic shouting, Niccolo does not show it. One of his many talents. He looks thoughtful as he takes a drink from his glass, and then continues, "If you would like to buy something for 500,000 silver, I am sure that would be allowed. But, if you could name a vintage of wine, I am curious what you would think." And has no doubt, one imagines, based on first impressions that she will share it!

Ansel walks on over in the direction of the trees once again, arm linked with Dominique's as they rejoin their former group. The Telmar gives a nod and another murmured reply to something the Wyrmguard has whispered on the way over. "She managed to make it seem like I wasn't totally useless, myself," replies Ansel, looking to Bianca with a polite smile. "And she didn't even make a scene when I stepped on her toes."

"You are far too kind and think far too highly. I was looking down at Lord Ansel's feet the entire time to make sure I would not step on them." Dominique admits ruefully as she glances about, seeming to have sobered up a little before she mutters and speaks quietly to those amongst the trees.

"Ever so earnest," Lianne agrees with Percephon without hesitation. At the 'ought to again,' she crinkles her nose a little and assures, "I'm due to head back into the mountains again soon for more dire work." With a glance aside to Valerius, she adds, "With your sister, in fact." Whatever forgiveness she may or may not have for Khanne proves moot as the newlyweds are rushing on too soon. For the moment, she's alone off by the outskirts of the gathering with Valerius, something spoken to him softly as she idly eyes the rest of the gathering.

Sir Jeffeth Bayweather enters, looking around and walking as a man Who Does Not Belong. He's walking slowly and tentatively as if any econd he may be kicked out or he'll break something on accident. The behemoth of a knight moves around quietly, deep blues searching the crowds for some sort of safe haven of familiarity.

Ansel has left the among the trees.

Ravana the tawny eagle have been dismissed.

Bianca's gaze slipped through the crowd, some sort of deep rooted sensor alarming in her head like a sixth sense until pale gaze centered in on Eirene. She was already starting to depart from the group amidst the trees before catching herself, "You two were a lovely pair." She first replied to Ansel before continuing in a leaning whisper to Dominique and Costas in turn. pausing and turning a quick, "Excuse me just a moment, please." Before proceeding her weave through those gathered toward the Malvici lady.

Aurus "

Whatever trail of pool water Cambria may have left across her gown in the process of being aided (fished) out and onto dry land once again, Dianna simply chose to ignore it, at least for now. "I'll send one of the guards to fetch one your maids with another gown from the manor," she murmured to the Marquessa. Her expression was already one of distinct irritation at the state her liege had been left in, and Derovai's introduction did not seem to improve the matter at all. She cocked one brow at him before she said, simply and plainly, "The last man who simply described me as 'new' was a blundering ass. I hope it's not proving a pattern?"

Eirene mutters a curse. Spotted. She should have just stayed home. She raises a hand and waves weakly back to Bianca.

"Ass, definitely," Derovai admits to Dianna. "Blundering?" He shrugs carelessly, untroubled.

"It would only be my luck," Cambria mutters, wrapping herself in a towel, throwing another around her head babushka style. "I hope you do not mind my early departure, but I suddenly feel as if I am not going to be the best company. At least the Marquis made good on sending the Ducklings over. Dianna?" She glances her cousin's way. "Will you please give my apologies to Duchess Pravus? I did not have the opportunity to greet her myself this evening." But before she goes..."Master Voss is not so bad, cousin. Truly. However, master Voss, this is my cousin Dianna, and she has been kept quiet busy for a time. I cannot say how blessed I am to have someone as dependable as she in my family. Ah, a dress? Not necessary. I shall send a maid back with the Duchess' towels in the morning, freshly laundered."
