Seraph Ailith visited me at the Lodge today. We spent much time discussing our pasts, and I now have to find an appropriate companion for her and the palace chapel. I have some ideas, but I must see who is available and of an appropriate temperament. Hopefully, those who visit will soon find themselves greeted by snuffling noses and intense interest; and not just from the disciples there.

Please let me advise the city. Should you find artefacts of non-human make which, when touched, irritate the skin and make animals uncomfortable around you, wearing said artefact may not be the best of choices you can make.

Toni, my "evil brother" from the mock combat. He's improved so much it almost brings a tear to my eye. A fantastic fight and that he stood up for all of it, even unto my inevitable evil betrayal at the end, was amazing.

As has rapidly become my norm, the past two weeks have been filled with many things with which to occupy my time. Of most distant note, now, was the fealty dinner hosted by the Velenosa - Prince Talen and Princess Eleyna, specifically. I had a most delightful time, the food and drink was, of course, superb. Though my uncle, Valerio, had to soldier through a small case of poisoning, I was glad he endured that for the sake of both myself and our hosts. It would have been a dreadful shame if the little game Blacktongue had designed hadn't been well-received by the guests.
It would be remiss of me not to mention, however, that Prince Talen and Marshal Valerio had a bit of a debate about portraits, which lead to...well, I will leave that to the two men to conclude before I speak of it further.
After that evening, the whirlwind of my life continued. I have endeavored to spend as much time as possible at the manor. It is now fully staffed, the larder fully stocked...again. (So too, the wine cellar). I wrote about Donkey Knight's in a previous entry, so I will not do so again here. There was another dinner my family attended, hosted by Marquessa Quenia Igniseri. I was able to meet both Duchess Dafne Zaffria as well as Duchess Grazia Rubino, both lovely women. Also in attendance were Lady Lucita, and Countess Arcelia. I suppose Hadrian and Valerio were somewhat outnumbered, but neither appeared too out of sorts. That's the beauty of Lycene men, for you.
There were many and more things that I did not get to attend, or to do, though I would have liked to. As so many have said, there just isn't enough time in the world.

Playing the part of the evil prince in mock combat may have been a bit silly, but it was nice to get a bit of fun in before the next dramatic things coming for us. Besides, good practice for others in guarding each other and a non-combatant.

I met the guy who's gonna be my brother-in-law.
He seems a nice fellow, though by the way he was staring at me from across the room and maybe sharpening his sword when I wasn't looking may prove me wrong.

Relationship Note on Mirari
Mistress Mirari Corsetina had advertised about restocking her shop and while I was elbow deep in commission work, I took a break to go and visit her establishment, Of Works Obscura. It is a wonder I left with any silver, I have to admit. The scents she produces are wonderful. Much like I enjoy a strong tea that smells as good as it tastes, these fragrances are a delight. I had the great fortune to also be able to purchase a higher quality perfume, Realm's Essence, which I can hardly wait to have occasion to wear! Or may just wear for no occasion at all, simply because I adore it. For the few people who know my birthday and wonder /what in Arvum/ does one get a knighted brawling weaponsmith for her birthday? The answer is perfume. I am vaguely obsessed.
Truly, though, Mistress Mirari's talents are extraordinary and I am so glad I took the time to visit her shop. Everyone should.

I have had much difficulty lately. It has been a very long time since I have felt so unsure, and so alone. So much has been happening, and I am left wishing I could share it all with Malik, but he is well entrenched in his travels. There have been moments where I am feeling absolutely terrified. But, I am reminded that there are still people who are caring about me, that are still here to help me through all of this confusion I now face. The people of Thrax have been very helpful, and I am liking to thank them all;
Duke Harald Grimhall - For your time and encouragement, and for agreeing to sail me out into the waters to see what could be learned.
Count Turo Navegant - For hearing me out, and your trust.
Countessa Arcelia Navegant - A new found friend, I am thinking. She has eased many of my worries, and invited me into her home, offering me conversation whenever I am in need. I am thankful for all of her kindnesses.
Lady Melinda Grimhall - I was nervous when first meeting her, as I was in the midst of conversation, but she too eased my fears and even gifted to me a beautiful gown.
Baron Edward Stormbreak - He has become a person that I feel trust in, and someone who has gone out of his way to help me in my time of need. We have long been acquaintanced, but now, I am able to count him as a dear friend. He is an excellent student as well.
I should also mention appreciation for Marquis Hadrian Mazetti and his wife, Marquessa Cambria Mazetti, the man I sat near to watch the game of Donkey Knights, Lord Ian Kennex, the man who humorously, albeit a bit grotesquely in my views, wore a pig suit to the festivities (I am sorry, I only know him as Sir Ham), and the others that evening who filled my moments with laughter and smiles that were very much needed. Thank you all.
And as always, Prince Aiden Grayson and Baron Silas Whitehawk. Even though I have not been seeing them lately, I know that they are always there for me when I need.
So thank you to each of you. You have all aided in helping me through tough times, even if you were not fully aware of your impact in the happenings of my life.

Merry music, knife juggling (and no one got stabbed, at least while I was there), free drinks. I was relieved I managed a passable dance with Lord Hadrian and did not make a fool of myself. It was some sort of party for Ian. A lot of people attended. The noise of the band and crowd made introductions difficult to hear. Lord Walsh or Watch, or maybe Wash was his name, claimed to smell of bacon grease. All I could smell was my mulled wine and a few sweaty knife jugglers. It was fun. Can't wait to tell Quenia about it.
