Relationship Note on Margot

I always did say you wore the pants in the relationship. Heh. Heheh. Heheheh. Hehehe, hahaha, hahahHAHAHA, HAHAHAHAHA!

(Scribe notes that this continued for longer than he would like to record before the High Lord was asked to leave the academy for noise disruptions.)

On pants - they're uncomfortable, stiff and restrictive, and I don't know how anyone is happy with so much leather between their legs.

The mainland ladies seem to feel we are restricted in the isles with our mode of dress but give me my skirts and corsets any day.

Relationship Note on Catalana

Catalana has come to Arx. All is revealed. I am an idiot and a fool for thinking she would ever want anyone other than me. And Cerilla is the most wonderful gift I have ever been given. I am delighted and ecstatic. I am hopeful and complete. I cannot wait to see the King again.

I have so many things to apologize for. I totally understand why Catalana did not want to tell me. I know how I am sometimes, and honestly, I would have been like this time. The last three months have been unbearable for me, and I complained to everyone who would listen. But how much more tedious they must have been for Catalana with so much less company in Stormward and such limiting mobility.

There is a storm on the horizon still, but I can hear the sound of bells ringing. They speak of hope. The world will still be standing after the storm. Cerilla's world.

Your statue is wonderful and beyond compare in its quality. It is an inspirational thing and through it I have found a vehicle and a new purpose.

Thank you.

I have concluded my fast and prayers at the beautiful statue of Mangata. I have been tended to and nourished and revived. I have a purpose. The Great Beast seeks to devour all there is. He shall find our fury in the face of its hunger impossible to swallow.

Sept. 1, 2017, 1:35 p.m.(2/17/1007 AR)

After my prayers have been concluded. And I have now recovered enough from fasting for two days. It has come to my attention that someone spoke against killing babies and Thrax. It seemed, perhaps, the comments were aimed towards me but generalized.

What sort of people are we if we are not allowed to question? If we are robbed of voice and the chance to express it. I have no issue with what the seamstress said if what is told to me is true. I ask anyone who took offense, on my behalf, not hold ill will or take action against a common woman who spoke her thoughts before the Goddess Mangata.

My actions are my own. I take responsibility for the disease with the Gyre's allies. My High Lord was aware of my intent, those around me were also were aware, but I am the Warlord of Thrax and I took the burden and the command of such knowing that it was my place to take and hold the criticism for my actions. And I have done such.

All were given the choice to kneel. Those who did were spared. Those who didn't were advised that the consequence would be death. I did not have years to root out the hidden island strongholds of the shavs. Arx was under siege and I knew the foe was eager to keep us occupied elsewhere. When I returned the fleet and broke through the army that besieged the Seawatch Gate is was a shock to our common foe. I filled and manned the hole in the wall with many brave Thraxians. Many soldiers should be commended for their actions that day. They died by the droves to keep Arvum and Arx whole. They deserve your praise. I, as their leader, deserve your condemnation for what came to bring that about. Not them.

No one in Thrax should be culpable for the deeds under my command. Not the High Lord, not the soldier that followed my orders, nor should anyone be chastised for questioning things I have done. I would appreciate that that criticism be given a name and I am not hard to find. I will not be hostile or act foul in response to such.

War is not a beautiful thing filled with honor. The stakes of this war are far higher than anything we have ever known. War is death, suffering, and misery at a scale that is shocking and appalling.

I have said I shall not use disease in war again. I have ended the practice of flaying and using crosses in the military. I have allowed women the chance to fight in this Great War to come as equals to Thraxian men. I have done all these things and stayed true to the course. I shall not waver in the face of the unspeakable horror that now approaches.

My duty, and life's current purpose, is to stand in the face of this malice. And I shall, axe in mitt... with the banners of the Serpent aligned behind me. I shall lead them, in alignment with the ethics of the Compact -- and we shall define ourselves as the hardened salted reavers do in the face of war...

Tears in our wake.

Relationship Note on Alarie

It's no secret I'm proud of my Crafters, the merchants, suppliers, traders, everyone involved in the Crafters Guild. Credit should be given to the proper artist when work is admired, when it's shared with others, when it's purchased and given as a gift. You wouldn't put the wrong name to a piece, to give credit where it isn't due, would you?

So as I am aware that my people make beautiful things as often as most people breathe, I still stand at the ocean with my eyes lifted to this beautiful statue, this praise-worthy image of a Goddess we love as a city built on sea, with our own docks and ports and ships to sail upon Her.

Alarie. You have out-done yourself, your own expectations, and you've followed the whims of Jayus by letting His inspiration guide your hands. I can't be prouder of you, or more impressed.

People of Arx, and Arvum itself, when you see the visage of Mangata on our shore, when you ponder at the beauty of the magnificent statue made in Her likeness, know that it is Mistress Alarie Harall, renowned artist of the Crafters Guild, that you owe your awe to for her creation of such astounding work in honor of the Gods. She is of our city; we should all be humbled and proud both.

There are so many dangers on the horizon, I should be frightened. I am, but I'm also excited to wade into things and get my hands dirty. Particularly if those things allow us to lessen some of the on coming danger.

I have shopping addiction, but it is an addiction that I don't want cured.

Shopping is not only fun, but it supports compact's crafters.

It is pleasing to both Jayus and Gild, I believe.

The fundraiser that I held to help rebuild the Thrax Military was an amazing success.

Generous donations were given by:

King Alaric, Dame Leona, Princess Isabeau, Princess Lou, Master Sparte, Countess Mia, Marquesa Samantha, Princess Alarissa, Lady Monique, Duchess Calypso, Lady Eirene, Lord Killian, Lady Arianna, Baron Edward and Lord Wash.

I am aware of the troubled past between the Thrax and the Graysons.

It is a new day and together we will fight and defeat the abyss together.

A hit to the Thrax Military is a hit to all of Compact.

We march out soon.

I won't go into the details of the mission on the journals just yet.

I will say that the outpouring of support and help we have got for this endeavor has been overwhelming.

The Faith has been especially supportive and helpful.

No hair in your face? Check. No dead arm? Check. Choose the most comfortable position? Check. Which forces the big spoon to conform to what you want? Check. You can freely itch your balls without disturbing your companion? Check. I'm seeing few drawbacks to this.

If the world would just have more spooning, maybe we would get over all the frustration, misery, and war.

I'm perfectly content not to be spooned though. I could go another month without physical contact. Let that be a warning to my wife. I gave a step forward, I can take six back.

I try not to engage in turning my White Journal entries into social commentary on another's submission to the Archives. However, I suppose there comes a time in everyone's life where you feel compelled to do so. So I must say this: I stand with the Highlord Edain Valardin. Hugs are wonderful. Everyone should be hugged at least once or twice in their life time. And there is no shame in being the little spoon.

Just ask my husband.

I am a hugger. I feel no shame at giving a good manly hug to a comrade in arms after a battle well fought glad that they stood by me at the darkest of hours. That said there is a better chances that tea pots spontaneously achieve sentience and start reciting dirty limericks than there is of High Lord Victus and I sharing such an embrace.

However, and I want to make this absolutely clear....

If we did, I would be the big spoon.

I can think of at least three depraved acts I may have happily done in order to have witnessed those embracing figurines and the expression on the High Lord's face when he first recognized what they were. I mean that with all due respect, truly.
