My sister tends to be wise in professional decisions, so I'll put my faith in her decision -and- your skill at sailing.
Do your best!

Day 2. Embarking Arx, Morning Of.
The expedition has begun. All are on aboard. There are more who came than I anticipated but they understand the grave nature of why we travel and willingly face the wrath of the Northern storms to go. They all understand the need to succeed here. The more that come with us, the better the chance one of us will make it back with the information we go to find.
When I came to the pier, it was with Silas at my side and Estaban not long behind us. Then I began to see the familiar faces of those whom I asked to risk their lives for this journey; for a risk it will be, if I can believe Duke Asger and Lady Khanne's continued warnings about travel by sea at this time of year. We have to go this way, we voted to travel this way, by this route. If we had more time, if we could wait... then we would travel by land by horse in the summer. But time my friends, is not with us.
So we embark, with prayers to Mangata enlightening our way. I recall the sound of my boots upon the gangplank as I was burdened with the supplies I brought for this journey. It was a heavy sound and it reminded me of the duty I bear. And I bear it willingly, for Arx, for Arvum, for all those I love.
Unloading the gear upon the Unsullied, I looked to her captain and stood with confidence as Princess Katarina was behind the helm. I believe in her abilities, I have no reason to doubt it, though some upon the ship did doubt it, at which I pointed out they could leave before we departed if they discounted her abilities. None did.
The arguement was at an end and so our ship pushed away from the Bay. The oars struck the water in union, the sails were unfurled. It was a sight I will never forget, looking back upon the City I have come to appreciate since my first day stepping through her gates before the siege of our enemies. I put my arm around Silas and said a prayer that we could return to see her again.
I stood upon the decks, watching the sight of Arx fading into the distance and remained there, until I couldn't see the towers or strong walls any longer. Only then, did I set my eyes North.
(OOC: IC Timing is a little off due to RL scheduling and this PRP extending over a few RL weeks -- the date of this journal does not mean the date of the expedition!)

We must not, then, confuse the brawl for the duel. Rhetoric has a clear foundation in the beauty of words and the fencing of two mentally adept parties aiming for educated discussion, and double-tongued phrases on a journal do nothing but render the author as one who has lost all hope in their own virtues.
I hope I can be forgiven for my brusque wording tonight.

As if the company was not delightful enough at the Training Center, I greatly enjoyed the evening. Duchess Nightgold, as always my love you are so gracious and an extraordinary host. I've always loved the Nightgold's ambiance and joie de vivre but if you feel a change is in order then by all means I fully support this decision. Princess Reese, Lord Killian. Duchess. All very good people whom I greatly enjoy spending time with. I hope everyone has sweet dreams tonight and I look forward to brunch! Or was it dinner? Oh well, either way I sense the Great Prank Wars in the future, Jayus lend me your creativity for this divine purpose.
