I have a sneaking suspicion that Stumphrey might be stupid. Like, stupider than what is expected of a dog. I watched him lick the wall for a good half-hour. I think he would have continued if I hadn't pulled him away.

One of these days, I'm going to have to make sure we do visit that island of yours. The two of us alone together in paradise? I can hardly imagine a better way to spend a holiday away from everything. It's rare that I find somebody that I forge so instantly of a connection with, but I think we've found that here. There are some thing that never seem to change, the older I get, the more I think things are going to get better, or worse, the most I realize that day after day, it's just going to be the same thing. However, with everything that has been going on, with my children settled here in Arx, I do believe I won't be going back home anytime soon. That is to say, this is my home, and I think it is time that I've made it so. I'm going to try to see if I can convince Adamo to leave Lenosia and come here with me, we can do this all right.

It has been a long time since I've been so embarassed at an event. I am not particularly big or brawny, but I don't hesitate to try at things. When I signed up as an extra for the rowing event I really didn't expect to actually be on the boat.
I admit that was only the second time in my life I have gone rowing, and the first time I capsized the boat. So in that context I did alright only losing an oar. In the broader context of the event, I think I would have rathered be buried in the sand dunes.

It's good to be able to breathe again, back in Arx. The war taught me a lot of things - and I'm going to do my best to move on and be more than just a soldier. Duke Arn, as I've said before was right. To be a Champion of a House is to be more than a fighter. I neglected that for a long while.

I've appointed Princess Echo as my second in the Gold Order, in the hopes that a fellow knight - especially one so renowned for her swordwork - may aid me in executing our goals and making Lady Niamh proud. She was close to Lady Eirlys, so now we've two people fond of the Greenmarch heading up the chapter.
She has skills I do not, and comes from a very different background. That will have any number of uses, I'm sure.
