I rode to the Forest with Princess Reese and a number of other friends of Grayson, at the request of the Legate of the Sentinel. I've never been hunted myself before.
More importantly, the soil appears desiccated, but it can be repaired. There's good soil inches underground; as I told people, hard work will fix it.

I think I've forgotten more about insane nightmarish shit than I even thought existed in made up stories as a kid. How does one even keep names straight? Pointing at a tribe of abandoned raiders and saying they need to go was so much easier.

I met with a merchant the otherday, one who ships out of Stormward. He was in my office over a claim of piracy. He claimed pirates stole his goods.
For those of you that are not aware, based on the principles established by Admiral Marquis Johann Kennex, the man granted Stormward March after securing the land for Thrax. One of his founding pillars was that piracy would be punished by death. As his crowning achievement was ridding the Stormward isles of Pirates.
This merchant brought me tales of pirates, in my waters, pillaging and raiding his vessel. I take piracy seriously, as did my father, and his father. All Kennex leadership, if we stand for anything, it's crushing piracy under our boot. The problem with the merchant's story, was that all the items taken from his ship, were sold to various merchants and vendors in Stormward proper, in the Galleon District. While that wouldn't be uncommon, brazen and bold, to pedal stolen goods in a city where the penalty for such is death, what was uncommon was the man selling them.

My initial thought was this was a scam, a racket, this merchant was running to make some cash on the side while the Corsairs and Navy chased our own tails in search for pirates that didn't exist. Yet, with little prodding, the merchant admitted to me that his brother was in fact that pirate that raided his ships. Despite my clarification that he would be sentencing his own blood to death, the merchant simply said that there was a time when he wished to be Godsworn, to personally serve Sentinel.
He also said that despite it being his brother, Justice must be achieved. His brother committed a crime knowing the penalty, and in Sentinel's eyes, the punishment was due.
This interaction stuck with me for the rest of the day, even into today. Such devotion to the Gods, even above family.
I don't know if I could have that strength.

The newest addition to the staff of the Arvum Refugee Relief Group. I find it amusing that I've discussed her among the echelons of the charity more than I've actually met her. What I have met of her revealed to me exactly what I'd expect of a noble of the Valardins. Proper and polite. A rather friendly lady, I'm sure she will be a great boon to the efforts of The Group on behalf of the refugees which we work with.

My brother arrived in Arx not too long ago. As the loving sister I am, I've offered to let him stay with me.
It's good to have the younger half here. He always was the brains of the operation. Plus, sharing the splendours of Arx with him - and hearing what magnificence he finds - will always be a thrill.

So in case anyone was wondering, no, the Gray Forest is still dangerous. And yes, to stay too long within is foolhardy at best. So don't do that.
Also, throat cuts are particularly annoying when you like to sing. Or speak. I know that was the point, it's still frustrating.

Whatever reservations I had against the Prince of the Sanctum, he wished for me to leave them all in the center of the Shrine today so Gloria might judge us both. So I did. I took every little nagging thought I've ever had up to this point and I let it all go. It turned out much better for one of us, but I respect a man who refuses to fall even when all seems lost.
