Relationship Note on Calaudrin
Here's a terribly unvague journal entry to clear up any confusion people might have had.
Calaudrin Estardes was referring to me when he brought up threesomes. This is because Esoka and I had discussed them once upon a time, but he did not want to partake. Given his writing about rashes, I'm starting to think perhaps that was just as well. Maybe he was looking out for me. That would definitely be in the man's upstanding, oh-so-lawful character... not wanting to spread rashes to others.
I know he and I have had a rocky relationship these past months, but recently he wrapped his arms around me so very tightly, I know there are still deeper feelings inside him. Perhaps some day he will let them go and share them with everyone. Why can our passion not be sung throughout eternity in the archives?
I do wonder if his crotch is still sore after our time together in that alley.
(Okay, that last part is a bit vague, but people don't want to read *all* the details, now do they? Be honest.)

Relationship Note on Thena
Thena Grayhope is a terrible guard. Just absolutely one of the worst ones that I've ever had to train. She's lucky I didn't toss her over the walls during the siege or leave her in the tunnels with the rats.
That aside, she has my unwavering loyalty and support. I am convinced that she will flourish in her new role under Grandmaster Armel's tutelage. And if she thinks for one second that she'll see less of me after leaving the guard, she is sorely mistaken. I'm like one of those rashes that you just can't get to go away.

With what has taken place within the Inquisition, I'm left wondering if any organizations in Arx can be fully trusted. The Inquisition's internal troubles are being worked out, I trust in that, but how much damage did they do while they were here? I don't think this is an answer anyone has, but one we'll find out the hard way regardless.

Would've liked to know him better. Pleasure listening to him talk, pleasure listening to him spin mazes, figuring, no, hm, knowing there was something at the center. Long paths are wonderful when you don't know the destination. Would that he'd gotten a longer one this life.

I believe sometimes that the people of Arx do not fully comprehend the precarious nature of our current lives. The horde of death and demonic disposition just fought inside of the Palace. Have to find my place in the world again. My previous place is no more. Duke Harald Grimhall took me in as a person of his House. Many should seek his council. His is wise. Although, he says spearing from horses is not a knightly thing. I thought all knights rode horses. The 1 silver novels I read as a lass must have been specialized.

I could, if you would like, make you a fairly thorough list of all the great many things, intermittently dire, which have distracted us from details like birthdays and wine and lazy afternoons spent enjoying the gardens. It may be more productive if we simply work towards enjoying what's left of summer while we're all still mostly whole and mostly well.

I had the most darling mask created for me at the Tangled Skein for the Menagerie Masquerade - all violet and blue satin with amethyst beading over this gorgeous pearlescent silk and the most glorious feathers. All humanely gathered from the bird that I am honoring, of course. Mistress Penrose is truly a brilliant and talented seamstress. So, if you should chance upon me this evening, please, save your praises for the one that deserves it.

Relationship Note on Turo
I love my family.
All of my family.
But Turo I love the most. I'm relieved that I found him so quickly, and that he didn't turn around and send me right back home. Despite what I said, I'm pretty sure that she knows I'm gone by now, and that she's plotting some horrible revenge for what I did. But I'm here with Turo now, and hopefully he doesn't rat me out.
No, I know he wouldn't. He kept all those secrets of mine for all those years, what is one more?

But Turo I love the most. I'm relieved that I found him so quickly, and that he didn't turn around and send me right back home. So many things to do. So many things have been done.
With the passing of dear Juliet, leadership of the Salon is now in the hands of her protege, Joslyn. She still owes me a combat lesson, though I'll have to be a touch more careful given my situation.
I've accepted discipleship of Skald. At some point there will be a much longer entry on why this deity is important to me; at least those parts of my reasons that I can offer for public consumption.
I've also been accepted by the Crown's diplomatic corps, and submitted a list of my linguistic accomplishments. (To note: I speak Crownlands shav, and will be brushing up on the elven dialects in the very near future. Must talk to Aislin.)
My three Deputy Ministers are on place, though we must finalize our initial meeting to outline and prioritize projects on behalf of the Crown.
Costume for the Masquerade Ball acquired, though I did have to get the dress let out to accomodate my girth. I don't think there's enough rare roast in the world to satisfy my hunger. Also, the claws are a bit unwieldy. As Rymarr has duties to attend to, Prince Aiden has kindly offered me his arm for at least the early part of the evening, as we are co-hosts and will be working in concert to greet those who attend.
I continue to spend the first half of my day at the palace attending to ministry matters, with the afternoons reserved for the March and the evenings either for relaxation or any other matters that fall into my lap.
Oh, and the dinner parties. Rymarr and I have resolved that every few weeks, will invite a small group of people - no more than four at a time, and different people each time - to dine with us, talk, and enjoy some manner of activity. Commoners and nobles alike will be invited to our table. It is my hope that in the future, an invitation to one of our dinner parties will be regarded as a societal accomplishment within the court.
With that, I must make sure the manor is ready for future guests...

I'm a little confused. Do some people believe that cryptic journal entries are a new phenomenon? I've been reading vaguely coded white journals for as long as I can remember, it's almost as if people want to call people out in public, without actually calling them out. A strange kind of 'gotcha' where they know that you know that they know, but the other people don't know. You know?

Relationship Note on Regla
My sister, Regla Navegant and Sword of Escuma, has come to Arx. Likely to make as much trouble as she did back home. This isn't bad, she was always my favorite sibling, to which I'm glad Estil isn't here to read this, because I would probably never hear the end of it.
It's good that she's here, I no longer feel so alone in such a large city. With father continuing his self-imposed isolation, having Regi here is a welcome sight. Just makes me wish I had a home to give her instead of a room at the Ebb and Flow. Want the best for them.
So. I have more reason to see that it gets done. If I could describe in so many words how happy I am that she's here, it wouldn't do it justice.

I think I'm ready for the masquerade. Prizes that I designed have been crafted, decor finished, musicians lined up... Only thing left is to find a tunic!
Also, the Arboreal Enclosure in which Marquessa Samantha Deepwood sponsored has been completed. The architects and construction laborers were quite motivated to finish up this part of the park. You can find it by walking through to the Companion Park or through the Reptile House. It's breathtaking truly!
