I, for one, am very disappointed there was no bear wrestling. I attend all possible Redrain events in the hopes I will see more of that glorious and entertaining sport!

Held a most productive open court this morning and I can say I was thrilled to see how many people turned out and participated. I am greatly appreciative to all who came by and to my family who attended to support House Redrain. Thank you all.
Come to think of it, it is possible some non-Redrain attended to see if a Northlands Open Court would end with a bear wrestling match or something. It occurs to me I may have disappointed people. Perhaps next time.

Returned to the city, donated most recent journals to archives. Napped. Had a drink and met some people. Realized there may yet be places in the city that, while not secret, have not yet been seen by my eyes directly. Maybe I will stay a while.

The Arvani have dozens and dozens of words for 'leader', each word being used to define which leader leads what and where and how and why and when and in what way each leader ranks up to each other leader, so everyone knows who is in charge of whom and in what order at any given time. They have leaders for war and religion and crafts, leaders for common people and leaders for nobles, leaders to tell all of those other leaders what to do and one leader to rule over the whole mess.
They have just one word, just one, to describe hundreds and hundreds of different tribes, clans, and bands that live outside of the Compact, hundreds of thousands, likely millions of people that live from the southern tip of Arvum to the northern reaches of Everwinter.
Imagine how confused you'd be if every single job, every single position, and every single title in the Compact was just 'king'. You might start thinking any you weren't directly involved with were all the same there too.

The Archlector of Mangata bid readers of the white reflections to reflect upon what they saw in the clouds and on the winds. I will try this.
The autumn skies are still piercing blue, not yet clouded with winter snows. It reminds me I wish to hunt and fish in the forests again, before the weather gets cold. It puts me in mind of the Son and the Daughter, the rivers of my home back in the Twainfort. It has been long since I've seen them, and my heart is always with them when I pray to Mangata.
I think often of late, of my blood and people in the Greenwood. Those long gone from me, perhaps always. Those who I simply have not seen in a year or so since coming to the city. You are not forgotten.
My thoughts wander as I watch the skies. Am I doing this right? I'm unsure. Whatever the case, I pray the winds be strong and true, and perhaps bring me the tidings I've prayed to many gods for long this past week. Sustain us, whatever comes.

Relationship Note on Percephon
While not every subject is pleasant, the company always is. Lord Percephon quite often has insights that I would never have otherwise considered. And both Fiachra and I appreciate his forthcoming manner and dry humor. We will have to remember to have tea and bacon meetings more often.

Relationship Note on Margerie
She seems happy in her new home, Aunt Margerie. It is good to have her around again. But I do hope she's not talking about any fires that *may* have happened in the line of duty in the past.. At least, she might try and give it the context it deserves. There were bad men running afoul, decisions had to be made in the heat of the moment, which I do mean literally, and then they were brought to justice. Enough said!

Relationship Note on Kael
I must admit that I found few occasions to speak to my cousin when Aunt Margerie brought him into the fold. I assumed he was learning nobility and I had been mostly soldiering and engrossed in my duties. I was determined to become Keaton in my own right. Now that I've found my way to his house in Arx, I should finally get to know him better. *Especially* if there's support needed in Keaton matters.
