Dear journal, let me start over.
Messengers keep stealing pages of my journal! I've tried to keep my door locked, passing it only when I need to take a trip to the head. In all other instances I leave via the window when I can. Since I've had a lot of practice at this (you know what I mean) and the ledge is broader than many aboard the ship, this hasn't been a problem.
I suspect they might have a key, but that would be madness!
I've written a number of pages over the past few days with my private thoughts, and they're gone. Gone!
I'm going to go get a new quill because this one is wearing down, and dear journal, you better still be here when I get back.

Thank you. It is an odd feeling, seeing my own words written as notes such as you did, but, I was delightfully surprised to see them at the same time. I imagine that such notes will help many who were unable to make it, or perhaps, many in the future who look back on things.

There are simply not enough hours in the day to do all that needs doing. I feel as though I am being chased by a beast with several heads all demanding different things to stop chasing me. I am overwhelmed with things that need doing and must be done.

(This page consists of sketches of sigils and heraldry that might be attributed to houses. One that probably don't exist. One features a dolphin that looks like it is laughing, another a stoat attempting to wrestle a crown, a third a pair of ravens dressed up in fancy hats. There are half a dozen more with lesser degrees of detail. It looks like a page from a sketchbook that got filed accidentally, or maybe he ran out of scratch paper and used his journal. There isn't a single word anywhere on the page)

I doubt it.
My little sister by mere minutes outdid herself. The Nox'alfar Embassy is outstanding, and beautifully appointed in the spirit of the Nox. They seem to be quite at home there - Tyrval was already talking about rearranging things. So you did a phenomenal job, and the party was a crushing success, and you did a wonderful thing.
So very proud of my brilliant, thoughtful sister.

Ahhh, flamboyant, strong, handsome enough to gain the attention of spectators, ambition tempered with a degree of common sense. It is a good combination for an upcoming Champion, so have taken on as a protégé though will take a year or two for him to complete training I expect. Still, am patient and willing to wait. I helped provide some armor for him, enough to get started and to last a while, at least till he becomes proficient enough to earn better for himself. I did not need any more new silks this season anyhow so was a good use for my funds.

Changes, so many changes. Good changes and poignant ones. New acquaintances, acquaintances becoming friends, friends becoming closer, and for others, paths that have tread side by side with others starting to diverge and friends drifting apart from having relocated or being busy with new families or loves, or duties keeping them apart. I miss them, a lot. And I especially miss Estie even though the passage of months since his death have helped the grief to recede and become bearable. The child or children I bear bring him to mind frequently.

Is it a bad thing to do a good thing when the timing is completely wrong? Is it selfish to want something so badly that you almost don't care if its right or wrong? Morally, not legally, of course.
Something I once wanted so fiercely I would have died for it long ago, yet it slipped away. And I did die, inside, with the loss of it. Now, it's back within grasp and every single emotion I have locked away for over ten years has come rushing back like a swollen river, threatening to drown me.
I've don't think I've ever been so excited yet completely afraid of anything in my life. It was so much easier when it was out of reach and inaccessible. I didn't have to think about what I'd lost. I also was content in knowing that I couldn't find some way to ruin it...
