Hm.
It's hard to make a concise thought on what's transpired today, given that I have a lot of thoughts and yet no decent way to articulate many of them.
I guess I'd just thought for a long time that welcoming those of dissenting opinion to share it in your places was a good way to learn from each other. Find your compromises and grow stronger as a people. It seems like there's a wedge now, where ideas aren't going to be heard.
Overall it doesn't really do anything to me though, so I cast my thoughts out like a 'lil pebble into the ocean anyhow. I'm probably wrong, but my gut just can't shake this disappointing feeling yet.

By decree of the Dominus of the Faith, if you worship anything but the Faith of the Pantheon you cannot be a Disciple of Vellichor. Scholars of Vellichor who currently have such beliefs will need to renounce them or be removed. Unless such time as we are instructed otherwise, this does not effect those within the Academy of Vellichor, our teachers and students enrolled.

No, lady. The bold stance is insisting that you be permitted to work for the Faith without altering your belief system at all, merely because you want it to be so.
You can worship as you choose. If you are going to WORK FOR the Faith of the Pantheon, you have to abide by its rules.

The irony I have learned since I came to this city. I have learned to respect and even admire in some respets your Arvani gods even as I respect less and less the members of its Faith.
It seems my thoughts were not misplaced nor misjudged.
The odd thing is that a person religious views are not free. Some would say they are free whatever you wish, so long as you believe what others tell you to believe.
You are free to do as they tell you.
For the record, I have never cared once what a man or woman believes in. It's never been and never will be any of my business. You religious views does not impact my life one way or another.
I cannot understand how some can think contrary to this.

I hereby renounce the spirits and pledge myself to the Gods alone. From this day forth let it be known that I am a servant of the Aspirations and seek to walk the path that my family has for generations. To acknowledge that I have been blessed by the Gods and that through me they have worked great miracles to the benefit of Arvum. Let my faith never be questioned, nor my stance on the subject of spirits or their correlation with the Faith.

One of the first people a Cybele met when coming to Arx was Princess Sister Sophie Valardin. She was not Mother Mercy then. She smiled at Cybele and told Cybele that Cybele was a gift from Lagoma. Cybele was happy to be gift. Cybele learned from then Archscholar Aldwin and Princess Sister Sophie about gods. Thought maybe they were powerful spirits. Learned more. Learned different. Learned that Aion dreams spirits like Aion dreams other things.
Was so happy to be Mercy, to serve Lagoma. Cried with joy. Got to teach many things to novitiates. Got honour of being named Voice of Mercy when Mother Mercy Princess Sister Sophie Valardin became Mother Mercy Princess Sister Sophie Valardin.

In order to serve a discipleship of the Faith, you have to speak the messages of the Faith. No one is saying you can't revere the spirits. Just that you have to be devoted to the Faith and not the spirits in order to ... you know. Work here. For the Faith. Disseminating our message. You don't make up your own and it shouldn't be blended with something else. It will just create confusion or worse, confused heretical messages. You'd be amazed some of the confused bullshit I have had to detangle.
Discipleships are the work of the Faith of the Pantheon. If you serve in one, you are working for the Church. This is a surprise for some of you?

I think I understand why those who believe in Shamanism were in various organizations related to The Faith, but I want to know for sure. Relationship Note on Aldwin
For he is Closest to the Gods. The Dominus is unapproachable when it comes to the matters of the Faith. While this is a decision people may be reeling from I can assure you that in some ways I can see how it brings us closer together. By celebrating our differences and respecting the culture and religions of the North and any other Abandoned House that chooses the Path of Shamanism. We can't continue to believe that the divide that has separated people for centuries doesn't exist. What we can do is amend the mistakes that were made in the past and set true our courses. The Gods watch us now and sometimes they act on our behalf. They deserve Disciples who are devoted to them utterly and completely! For anything less is not only a disservice to the Faith but to the Gods. The Dominus has not decried Shamanism or taken away the right for people to choose.
Remember that the Spirit Walkers /are/ the institution that belongs to Shamanism and adheres to the Old Ways.

I just want to remind those that believe in both Shamanism and the Pantheon: You do not have to be a member of the Faith of the Pantheon's political machinations to still venerate the gods.
