I am so happy I think my heart might burst! My most brilliant and beloved brother has returned!
I have not seen him for so long, but like always he returns to me with a glint in his eye and something to make me smile. He does not realize that it is his return that makes me so happy and not what he brings, but who am I to argue.
It is so wonderful to know that even though we have been parted for so long, things remain the same between us in so many ways. So much so that I am duly reminded that I must be more strategic when selecting my footwear while in his company.
He is everything I could wish for in a brother, and a few things that I do not. Which makes him nearly perfect. And, I would not trade him for all the world. And no, I will also never admit this to him... not today, anyway.

I ran into a good friend from when I grew up, and he loved what I was doing with the songs. I hear he ended up getting people going a little nuts with it down in the lowers, while I was guarding the halls again. I heard there are some other songs that people shared, hope I get to hear them too.

I expected the attack at the Hall of Heroes, to be honest. Our enemies are within the walls of Arx, and likely have been for some time. If they want to demoralize the people, in the hopes that those without will have an easier time wearing us down, they are going to attack where there are larger gatherings. One or two survivors are certainly enough to spread a panic, especially if they have seen those who would be defenders torn apart. Even better when it is for a ceremony meant to honour a hero of the Compact.
Too bad for the Bringers that their plans seem to keep failing against the combined might of those who are determined to defeat the Silence. How must it feel, to have what must have been considered easy prey, softened up over the centuries through actions meant to deprive us of our history and heritage, prove to be so resilient, so resourceful, so -strong-? Do you feel it, Brand? Do you hear us? You will learn to fear us, before this is over.

To the best of my knowledge as Guildmaster of the the Crafters Guild, there's no ban in the works for anything, including spirits. If there is, I would stand against it. There's a possibility of a -percentage- of grain being locked in for bread to ensure the city has enough to eat, with a small percentage going to the distilleries.

Solariums are one of the best ideas I think I've seen made by city folk. Normally I like nature to be, well, natural, but there is something to be said for those places that try to blend both the city and the natural world. The shrine of Lagoma isn't terrible at this, and the Stone grove was a very very old example of that. I want to make a place like that of my own I think.

Relationship Note on Fortunato
It is always a thing, when you meet with true artists. There is something about their soul that sees the world at an angle just slightly apart from most. The thoughts that stir in his head spin with incredible depth and when he speaks, it is often of faith and requires an answer that challenges me deeply. He comes to his faith in a most interesting direction and I wait eagerly for his next questions. Perhaps I might even manage some of my own.

I had thought her too quiet at first, a reserved woman of an esteemed grandfather. She listens and speaks with a thoughtful touch to her words and she believes truly and deeply in the gods. That might be expected from a direct relation of the Most Holy, but what conversation I've had with her shows she comes to her faith on her own. So while quiet, there is contemplation and sincere curiosity behind those eyes. I am glad to have met her.

If given the choice between being under siege and besieging someone, one should always choose the former. Both are fine options for a sellsword, of course, but it comes down to coin, and triple rates against double is hardly a choice at all!

Rumors abound about banning the production of whiskey inside the city during the siege. Thank the spirits that I planned ahead and stockpiled some Rathlander like I said I was going too. Spirits forbid we don't have anything to drink in celebration once this is all over.
