I sometimes wonder, as I consider the strange paths the world has taken, and the lives of the people around me, just where it was that Addison was truly corrupted. What was the influence and moment when he began to serve the darkness rather than the light. He had always been an ass, even as children, Addison was simply incapable of either decency or kindness. Judgmental and aloof, he felt himself better than everyone else, and I think that he resented the fact he had been born a cousin rather than of the line of the Duke..his aspirations focused instead upon righteousness and zealotry, because the church was the path to power left to him. But even with that being the case, he was not evil..he just wasn't fun. What curse befell upon our house that so splintered it though? Avery abandoned family and now seems hardly a human any longer, so devoted unto the concept of smothering all emotions and passion.. Addison allowed a darkness more foul than could be imagined to take him over, and though he might have believed he was walking the path of light, even so he served the greatest of evils.
Is this curse upon my house the result of my fathers sin, or farther back yet? I can only be thankful that my cousins at least are good, righteous people who believe in and serve the pantheon faithfully.

So...the Queen of Endings..just.. sort of showed up? At the memorial service. That's a thing. I'm not sure what sort of thing, but it's certainly a thing.

I was on the battlements when the Queen of Endings revealed herself to us. But news travels fast. It appears she has choosen one that speaks for her, and gifted him with the ability to command the dead to fight for us.
I know I should be happy for every advantage we can have while we are in the fight of our lives, but I cannot help but feel conflicted. These are souls that were at rest, maybe even at peace after either long lives, or short tragic ends. What will calling them to fight mean for them? Do they have any say when they answer the call, or are they just the abstraction of their former selves and will move more a thing of instinct than of thought and will?
I have so many questions, and they are questions to which I know we have no answers too.
The most important one is this. Will I see my brothers and sisters among them if they come to our aid? Will they be proud of how I have lead the Oathlands as was to be their destiny until someone robbed them of it?
Nothing but questions.

I fought along side Zhayla, Barric and the Grayson troops.
The servant of death saved Prince Barric and Prince Darren.
Maybe he saved us all. It is scary, but right now we have to take all the allies we can get.

It would seem that my errant unofficial kinswoman is fondly remembered by others within Arx, and that at least some are rather bolder than me when it comes to public expression of such. A text now exists, written in her honour though without her name, which makes for fascinating reading. Not that I can claim that it is remotely cheering to do so: even in these dark times, it remains a bleak story.

Relationship Note on Hadrian
How very generous of Duke Hadrian Malvici to have me over in celebration of my birthday. It was nothing too fancy just enough cake for the two of us, a glass of wine, deep conversation, and a little dance. I thought it was perfect, no fussing over a large party or dealing with an abundance of people. We simply enjoyed one another's company and a small treat together in order to celebrate my continued life. The best part of this all is that as a Duke, Hardian Malvici has little spar time but he still gave me some of the little free time he had. Above all else, his time is the most generous gift he could have given me and he did so willingly.

A very open, honest and blunt woman. With a similar history as my own, we are well on the way to becoming fast friends and promising adventures. She has a flare for life that only rivals his own and she doesn't mind getting tossed around, though asking Max to do it is something, not many would do or could win against in a wrestling match. Looking to have a good drink with her anytime she is thirsty.
