Troubled waters met with broken land tug
Heartstrings that tremulously threaten to unravel;
Existence on this dwindling planet is but a mere whisper that
Rustles these complex restraints,
Ever silent in their longings

In the end, what will we have to grasp
Save for these elusive phantom wills?

Aventurine stones are cast into the sea
Lovers still sing of devastating intersections of torment and desire
While children, their quiet eyes unwavering
Ache for the comforts of home and sturdy perennials that

Yield more than the first fruits of
Sorrow and catastrophe

Hold tightly to one another, while murmurs of
Obsidian lullabies and faraway dreams become
Perpetual fragments carried away by the wind; this
Ending is not truly the end.

Relationship Note on Talen

I don't know who you are either, but clearly we need to meet. Destiny is telling me we were meant to be the best of friends.

Of course, 'Destiny' is just this combination baker/fortune teller I know who likes to make an extra silver or two by shilling 'fortunes' with her biscuits. I do like her biscuits, though.

Relationship Note on Calypso

My dear cousin, she never ceases to impress me with how much she's grown and how much her swordplay has improved since our years training with each other.

She is a phenomenal fighter and was a great help to me as I practiced my swordplay, specifically in not just trusting the darksteel (to which she also provided me as a gift..alas, I cannot thank her enough) alone to defend me, thus did I practice in great extent these past few days on parries and flourishes. I managed to barely defeat her unharmed, as I was able to surprise myself with the ability to keep up wit her movements and match her strike for strike, block for block.

I will never be grateful enough for how much she has helped me.

Relationship Note on Caelis

My dear sister, when one faulters, the other supports.

She is my rock when I was weak. Caelis helped me process the grief of my late wife, Victoria, and helped me in the right direction to truly honor her memory. Never would I wish for anyone else to help me through my struggle.

It's her and I against the world and I would want it no other way. You can trust I will be there for you as you have always been there for me, as it has always been, so let it remain.

Yesterday at the family dinner, I arrived with my dear sister Caelis where we both enjoyed the loving and warm company of our family...and of course our friends from the Saik.

A good time was had by all, and the heroes of the battles of Pridehall and Giant's Fall were rewarded with medals in honor of their courage and valor. I must say, I wasn't expecting to get any sort of reward, as serving my family and defending them successfully against the horde is more than good enough reward, in and of itself.

However, it is nice to be acknowledged admittedly.

- P.S I wonder how Serah is doing... -

Awhhhhhhhh.

My journals were "hacked".

*the above is scribbled out*

Okay, the archivist of Vellichor claims this is impossible, so I might have been facetious.

Either way, I don't know who you are but you should run. Boyfriend-ness only leads to married-ness and that leads to vase-in-the-face-ness. True story.

dancing is like the sea
at times rolling calm
others in fierce motion
each step has a purpose
each hand gesture a meaning
each movement is a whisper
the tide of the story is told
waves sweeping in and out
with the sway of a hip
draped in silks and gold
whether all eyes are on you
or you dance alone
your heart lifts
your soul rises out of the cage of your body
and you move with a blissful freedom
filling you with joy
until the dance ends
sending you crashing into shore
like the beautifully dangerous sea
dance sweeps you in
taking over your soul

I am not one prone to superstitious endeavors. I proudly assume victory. One must plan wherever possible.

Petition to the Crown and Faith (Rough draft, more brainstorming needed, details, logistics)

Cacophony of Victory (festival celebrating victory over the Silence, return to a full, known pantheon)
* Every third anniversary of the Victory (rl Year)
* Festival lasting three weeks (1 rl week)
* Games, competitions, balls, parties
* Renewal of marriage vows, wedding celebrations (since there are approximately 4788434698643896651580 quiet weddings happening, with plans to celebrate after the siege.)
* Special prizes?
* Each great house helps host, honoring heroes.
* Service of Remembrance, honoring the sacrifices made.

(OOC inspiration, shorter festival, once a rl year, like Firan Spring/Fall Festivals. A new Arx Holiday of sorts.)

Awarded pretty medals for my work at Pridehall and Giant's fall. It's nice to have my work recognized.
By all accounts my organization of the medical efforts for the Gyre campaign were successful.

I measure success, however, in the number of men and women I can save from Death. Keep them from getting another turn on the wheel of life and rebirth and shit. I don't wax philosophic on what happens in the next life; my concerns are purely for this one.

All the same, shiny medals are nice tokens of appreciation.

It feels good to have a meeting of minds, civil, warm conversation, and bask in the happiness of loved ones. Princess Cara is a fine conversationalist, and I feel good about the results.

(Note: remember to guilt Luca into getting me something pretty.)
(Note Secundus: Probably should make this a Black Journal. I do have a reputation to maintain, after all.)

I have been feeling rather lonely as of late. My brothers have both fine positions at court, where as I have not found anything that really engages. My heart longs for that special someone... If your out there, somewhere. Send me some flowers?

We all feel shame. We all have parts of ourselves which we hide.

We do not only feel shame for our grave misdeeds and mistakes, for the sins which might be readily identified as such. We also feel shame for small things no one else notices, no one else even remembers. We feel shame for who we once were, what we once thought, what we once wanted. We keep moving forward and hope no one asks after our abandoned aspirations and momentarily misplaced enthusiasm. We hope we never need to justify our missteps and misunderstandings. We hope we never have cause to explain those motivations which seem so foreign to us now.

We hope others see us as we wish to be seen, our secrets and shames tucked neatly away, our best face put forward. So we look to mirrors that we might see what others see and shape how we are perceived. A good mirror shows us who we are--marked with all that evidence of who we had been, all the things we've done and left undone--and offers no judgment, not even when we turn our heads just so that we might see ourselves as we wish to be.

May we all be so blessed as to have such mirrors in our lives, to keep close those who accept us as we were, who value us as we are and who let us dream of who we have yet to become. May we all have someone who helps us see ourselves. May we all find time to reflect on who we mean to be.
