After Aurum Texts was burned in the siege and my apprentice lost with it (may you find peace in Death's keeping, Tivathy), I did not think I would ever return to running a shop. But I am called back to it again with the opening of The Pantheon's Bounty. Eventually, I hope to find a priest of Gild with a mercantile or fundraising background, one who is willing to operate the shopfront on behalf of the Faith. Until then, I will use the skills granted to me by my life before becoming Godsworn to ensure it runs smoothly, and serves as a place where Gild, Jayus, and the other gods may be recognized and honoured as they deserve by the devout in the city. My acolyte Bern will also be able to study bookbinding and illumination there, as part of his training.

I am especially proud of the holy oil, I think. It is not so easy to capture the smokiness of incense in a fluid form, and it helps a great deal with focusing the mind during prayer.

Relationship Note on Titania

My youngest cousin has asked me to let her see what being a Voice is like, and in return, I explained to her why Kennex will not be paying salaries to our fallen.

She understands, but I can see how it broke her heart. Sometimes we have to make difficult decisions, decisions we hate. It remains to be seen if our little tropical lily has the mettle to make them.

I imagine that something, somewhere out there just kind of sighs and rolls its eyes when it sees me starting a new project. It's amazing I haven't been struck by lightning yet.

Which begs the question: Could one trap lightning in a bottle? I'll have to ask the clergy if that's legal.

I had barely time to enjoy my first time in Arx, before I was pulled away to the sea, this time to go on a rescue mission to the northern waters. Prince Abbas Thrax was on a whaling trip that had seemed to awry, so we set out right away to try and find the man and his crew.

I must state that I am not used to piloting a long boat, more used to the larger warships of the Navegant fleet. I feel more accustomed to the wheel than to a manual hand rudder, but in situations like these, beggars cannot be choosers. The long ship and it's Crovane crew presented and fared themselves quite well under the situation of bad seas, ice storms and polar bear attacks. I expected nothing less of sailors like these.

Those that came along, even if they were not sailors themselves, operated and functioned in a positive manner, especially given the circumstances. We managed to rescue who we could, more than I had expected, but less than I had hoped. You cannot save everyone, but as long as you can save one, the try was worth it.

I look forward to speaking with Prince Abbas to see how he and his men are faring. It is good to be able to do some good away from the fleet.

I don't often get to go on adventures, but I was more than happy to accompany the Society of Explorers on one up North. We were close enough to home that you could smell the crisp mountain air. Traveling by barge up the Gray River is not a method of transportation I'll likely recommend ever again, but I became very familiar with a group of explorers I did not know well before. Silver linings.

What we found when we came upon the lost barony of Frosthaven was harrowing and tragic. What happened there was unforgettable. But we were able to free hundreds of souls from their captivity, so I can say proudly that our adventure and the danger we took upon ourselves was more than worth it.

Princess Reese and others are making ready to go out and deal with blight in the forest, and I to go with them, though the plans have been... reined in, by Lady Calypso's proclaimation. I met with her to let her know what I do of the threat in the forest, and I was fortunate that she seemed to take my words very seriously. I may have to speak in front of the council at some point, she said, though perhaps it will be clear enough to all by then that it shall not be necessary. I am hopeful that our efforts will go well, and that no more lives are lost as have been in other recent excursions.

The other day, House Redrain celebrated those who provided exemplary service in defense of the Compact on behalf of House Redrain. I was more than proud to recognize these men and women, all of whom fought many difficult battles either physically or to keep us safe during the siege of Arx.

That being said, I think the commemorative whiskey jugs went over well. A nice change of pace from medals in my opinion. And the statue that now towers in its impressive magnificence upon the Redrain grounds will be a fitting way to memoralize those that fought, and remember those who are no longer with us.

Relationship Note on Juliet

You once promised to me that you would always work in the best interests of the Lyceum. That you would always keep our home land safe. And you kept your promise. You faced down a monster and emerged victorious.

Now, it is my turn to make a promise to you. The monster that killed you will be punished for what's been done.

No one may harm us unpunished.

Relationship Note on Juliet

Lady Juliet Fidante was a lot of things to a lot of people. I think I will remember her best as the woman who took a few hours out of her day to have a riveting political conversation with a High Lord, who needed a touch of amusement in his life.

Rest well, Lady Juliet. You will be missed.

Relationship Note on Juliet

Dearest Lady Juliet Fidante.

She was a woman of passions, in that I could not fault her. She was brave and brilliant when she wished to be and as gentle as a summer breeze any other time. I admired her strength, even if her nature did not mix well to my own on occasion, she had a golden heart and she is sorely missed.

I can only hope she is in peace, adored there just as she had been here.

Books!

We have a Library for the Grayson Mansion and I am trying to collect as much books as possible.

I am very happy that Sister Gisele agreed to sell us one of each copy of her books, what an honor!

She didn't want all the money for her, but wanted it for a donation too in part.

Anyways, I am trying to buy books. If anyone has books for sale, please contact me - Princess Reese

Relationship Note on Karadoc

Lord Karadoc is a man capable of great things. He's proven to be an invaluable member of the Arvum Refugee Relief Group. His ability to organize matters, set a goal, and pursue it will be a great asset for the people who are currently under the care of the Group.

He made some waves among the populace during the siege and I'll not claim to have agreed with them. I'll not judge the man for his convictions. He did what he felt was right and pursued that goal. It is that determination that I believe will greatly benefit those in need and I fully expect Lord Karadoc to exceed expectations in ensuring the Group makes the most of the charitable donations which we receive that go toward providing these people the opportunities that they'll need to succeed.

Relationship Note on Juliet

What can I say about Juliet Fidante?

She stepped forward ahead of any of us to face Tolamar Brand. And she mocked him.

I wish I could tell you the kind of guts it took to step in front of the monstrosity he had become. She stepped up and called him the Failure of Oblivion. She told him we'd go easy on him.

It was all a distraction, of course. To give us an opening to begin the attack. But gods, those guts.

She may have been complicated. But I'll always remember her in that moment.

Efforts with the Arvum Refugee Relief Group are well underway and progressing rather smoothly. The few minor incidents which have taken place have been resolved spectacularly by the group functioning as security for those who have sought temporary refuge in Southport Square. House Malvici's own Hawk Guard, the Iron Guard, the Knights of Solace, and all of those who have contributed to the safety of the area have our deepest gratitude.

To those who have volunteered time, silver, or other assets I can say without a doubt that those who find themselves on the receiving end of such generosity and charity do truly appreciate it. To those who are still uncertain whether to offer their assistance with the project? That is a decision that they themselves must make, but for those who do make the decision to offer their time there is plenty of work to be done. People to meet, Houses to petition for aid, permissions to be sought, routes to be planned, and so much more.

Every individual who has volunteered themselves has my gratitude and the gratitude of the many people longing for a fresh chance and brighter future whom they've helped already.

Should one wish to offer their aid, I implore any willing to reach out to Lady Caelis Malvici, Lord Karadoc Saik, or myself to arrange an opportunity to meet and discuss a potential fit. Having some, even vague, notion of what it is you would feel capable of doing on behalf of the refugees would be ideal purely so that we can ensure any relevant internal parties are available to attend the meeting. The charitable pursuits aside, it is an exemplary opportunity to meet new people within the city of Arx and beyond. No matter the House which you swear fealty to, there is work to be done and we can use you.

There was an event the other night at the Villa.
I got an award for my actions during the siege.
Not sure if I really deserve it though.
