So, I know of this really neat plant that grows where I was born and raised. That plant only grows there and is exceedingly rare anywhere else. I believe this plant needs to be brought to Arx. It needs to be cultivated and all the apothecaries need to be made aware of it's amazing healing properties! In fact, I want to start a huge garden that grows mostly plants of medicinal use for the city. I hope to get other apothecaries and the Mercies all involved in this. I think this will go a long way in helping the city as a whole. Now, if only I can think of a snazzy name...

Hmph! Quantity should NEVER replace quality! I go to various apothecaries and find them utterly sold out. The cheap perfumes are very very affordable, I get that. However, wouldn't anyone out there like a quality high grade perfume over just the cheap every day stuff? There are so many parties and events of high class, yet people wear -cheap- perfumes. I need to figure out a way to make my high quality perfumes more of a trend.

Leona is an interesting person - she holds high position as Lord Commander of the King's Own, but she also does not seem egotistical or precious of this. She also hungers for that simplicity that Preston desires, even if they disagree. So what does every super cool armorsmith need in her life? A super cool dog, that's what! Yeah, I got a dog. I never really had to care for anything before like I'm having to care for this pup. Yeah, I've got younger siblings but, let's be honest, I only wanted to torment them when I was little. Like Aurora. It's fun to torture her.

Today I approached Lady Calypso Malvici about joining the Ministry of Defense, and she graciously agreed that I could serve as an agent. As the new commander of the Laurent forces, it eases my mind to know that I'll have such fine minds available to me, and that I'll be able to keep a finger on the pulse of Arx's military affairs

You seem to be under the impression that I am questioning your contributions to Arx, or questioning you at all. Not in the slightest. I don't even know you, why would I do that? I'm sure you're as great and wonderful and dedicated as you say you are, and that plenty of others will agree. I certainly don't compare.
For the official record, your project's fine for what it is. I just don't like the concept. Nothing you can do to help that.

I guess, we forgot that as we're now all nit-picking our various Journal entries as one. We have the freedom to choose what we say in these, you know. Relationship Note on Shard
The Menagerie project provided jobs for people. It will continue to employee those who have shown themselves capable of care for the animals as well as further construction needs. Is that not in itself, a way to help the crisis? Never mind that animals provide therapeutic outlets for people and the Menagerie offers a sanctuary both to animals and people. On top of that all, the project has been a morale boost for many people in this city.
You also may not know, but I got my hands dirty with the Agricultural revival of the Gray Forest, which also employed and continues to employ people. The poop was provided in part by the animals at the Menagerie.
Thirdly, I offered Master Torian Culler a shop space in the Gifting Tree, at the menagerie. I believe he is actually trying to get an orphanage set up in the Lower Boroughs. He gets all the profit that he makes from the Gift Shop and he can put toward that project.
Also, if anyone asks me for support when it comes to refugees, I will gladly do what I can for them - ask Lady Arcelia who is part of the Arvum Refugee Relief Group. I am also a part of the Golden Hart which provides funding and resources for charity causes and I'm pretty certain I've been to more than one fundraising event myself, that I didn't host, and gave what I could at the time. Maybe everyone forgot, but I do remember standing up on stage during the Whisper Event as one of their charitable volunteers and being auctioned off. I may not have brought in as many funds as other people at the time, but it was worth it to support the restoration cause to the city.
I've also taken on a protege, which I fully support out of my own stipend.

I think the next project for the Menagerie is clear: a human exhibit. Now is a great time to start on it as well, you'd have no trouble finding a mated pair, and entire essays are being written on the subject of human pairing habits and rituals. What's the phrase? Strike while the iron is hot? Think of the picnics. The parties. The praise from all for being such kind generous souls to the poor helpless humans who will come to live in the new home you have charitably provided for them.
