I find myself enjoying the company of the palace Seraph - her background is similar enough to mine, and there is none of the pomposity one can find at times. She certainly seems devoted to the faith, and to her work. She hosted a very enjoyable evening that got the Faith talking to one another, and also inadvertently led to Preston meeting the king. And she is sharp, that is to be respected.

The gathering of the Faith was interesting. Though, I cannot help but wonder at the topics raised - aside from whether Father Orazio looked snazzy in his robes. I know the Templars are conservatives, but are we so out of step with our brothers of the faith? Does that make us wrong or just different? These are hard questions to ponder.

Yes, I do suppose the word 'litter' is more flattering than the word 'wheelbarrow'. I wasn't looking for a litter, however, when I requested this. My wife really is rather fond of gardening, if by the way she throws my armour down into it is anything to go by. I thought the wheelbarrow might be an apt gift.

The sound of several pounds of steel armor crashing into the ground after being dropped off the balcony is amazingly satisfying. The only thing that might be more satisfying is if the owner of said armor was still wearing it while it was totally accidentally dropped over the side of the balcony.

Talen Velenosa requires the services of a smith, or carpenter, or whoever it is that makes wheelbarrows. It should have shiny rimmed wheels and ivory handles but large enough to fit a heavily laden princess for mobility purposes. In theory.

She seems new in the city. She's with Thrax. I made her a blade, and she seems to be just trying to make her way around. It's good to see new nobility in the city coming in. It really helps to stabalize things in these recent times, having these folk sitting at the seat of power where it's easier to defer information from Arx to other areas.

Obviously I didn't kill myself last night. I was drunk. I'm not responsible for what is written while I'm drunk. That's why I write in the black book when I am drunk, not the white.
Two days at sea, the Coast is well, the men are well. Ghenti fell overboard. Passed out while shitting himself is the word. According to the chirurgeon he's had bowel issues since before departure. Good splicer of lines. Not much else positive to say of the sailor. Obviously his family will receive his pay from this voyage, dead or not. Good time to die though, we may be in Arx months, even years. That's a goodly sum for a family that can begin seeking a new breadwinner in less than a month.

More to focus on. Dragon, incredible creature, shame to kill but necessary. Perhaps corpse can be used to create new kinds of armor, medicine? Must salvage good from death, even if Dragon is malicious. Especially if malicious. I feel more at home researching these things, these days. Good or bad? Unknown. Stranger in normal land.

Well now. Quite the tasks I have before me. Especially with preparing our manor in Arx for proper formal occupation. Time for recruitment! Also time to start building some relationships up in this place. Seems attending the Tournament of Roses Grand Melee one way or another is in order. I bet an old eye eyed man could surprise some of them…

I hadn't planned to run the Gauntlet that night, but there was incentive given in the form of the Duke of Telmar himself showing up at midnight to give his opinion on the nighttime runs. How could I not, when his encouragement was so hearty and vociferous? I will forever remember him in his nightclothes, face flushed with the exertion of sharing his outlook so vigorously.

I was happy to be able to attend the wedding for a short period of time.....but the spiders that were with the Queen..admittedly freaked me out. I couldn't stay long, but I was happy to show up for at least a small amount of time.

I ended up attending the wedding between King Alaric and Queen Symonesse and it was quite the spectacle....first time I ever attended a wedding of such a caliber, and even moreso the first time I've met our monarchs.
Both of which are rather splendid.
A marvelous night indeed that I feel was celebrated for longer than a day in Arx.

Ah, the Royal Wedding was this week and it was the most wondrous thing, every bit like something out of a storybook. Oh, the Queen was so beautiful, and her husband so very handsome as well. It was just all too perfect, with none of the small worries that had circulated in the prior weeks amounting to anything. Afterwards, the party was magnificent, as one might have expected. In total, it is one great doubt lifted from all of us and a great moment for our people going forward.
Oh, and the Queen gave me her spider-woven veil as a gift later! I thought I might have exploded in joy.
