We reconnected with a nice dinner at the Ambassador. Duchess Lydia remains exquisite company. It's surprising how easily I find myself falling into old patterns, even if she has been busy ruling as of late.

Relationship Note on Viviana
When I first arrived in Arx, I met a Lycene woman who taught me things I needed to know, and whom I soon fell in love with. We became close.
Eventually, she would introduce me to Lady Viviana Pravus. A woman of exquisite tastes, with a wicked sense of humour and a smile that still makes me weak in the knees.
I am so thankful for that introduction.

Plans continue apace, and I find that I am ever busy. I have accepted another large comission, which will occupy my time going forward for a while. Hopefully this won't deter others. As well, there's the work with the Gold Order and the Mourning Isles - which admittedly is exciting and scary in its own way.

I am tired... and had a lot of tea (whiskey)... and perhaps may not be eloquent.... but....I have to say this:
I would proudly stand beside Duchess General Calypso Malvici any day. She has proven to me time and time again how hardworking, loyal, and strong she is. She is a great leader as Minister of Defense, and I am sure as Duchess as well.

This has been an interesting week to say the least. I'm not even sure where to begin focusing my thoughts. I'm dreadfully sorry to hear about that business with Malvici losing all their gold, and all I can say is I hope that the culprits are caught. Plainly, there is something more at work here, and I wish Duchess General Calypso the best of luck in working through this crisis.

My congratulations to both Princess Cara and Prince Laric on their baby boy. He is a beautiful addition to Grayson, and I am sure that he will grow up to make us all proud. I also hope that we can allow him to grow up happy and needing for nothing, with a bright future ahead of him.

Dragonweep comes in many different shades, I've been told, but how many? I have been trying to figure out who in Arx has dragonweep I might examine, but the list of people who will admit to it is extremely short. Perhaps because of fear of thieves? Yet people think nothing of walking around with alaricite. I guess gemstones are more easily misplaced than swords.

Time and time again I am finding myself the gatekeeper to the Marin'Alfar. Messengers come, asking permission to journey to Maelstrom or to approach Prince Venteri and I have to remind them that I am neither gatekeeper or keymaster. They are welcome to journey to Maelstrom to the embassy or to send word to the Prince they wish to meet with them. It can get so very tiring. I've left them now to Olenna to tend to. So those who let their eyes traverse upon my whites. You need not my permission. Please. Spare me ,I beg you. Unless you desire to hear Prince Venteri speak only in Marin'Alfar and then so desire me to translate. Also, please, don't ask him if he has gills to breath underwater.
But much movement, planning. Victus leaves soon, and I will be making my way to Maelstrom soon enough and I hope that he finds what he looks for and makes it to Maelstrom in time. He has near four weeks, hopefully, to find this individual and then arrive in time for the birth of his child and the heir. I have faith in him. As I have faith in the hands of the Queen and Mother. A Harlequin will be making the journey, as well as a disciple and another to whom is dear. Soon. Gods at my back, soon.

A grave mistake was made the moment a single silver was taken from Southports coffers. These actions are not being taken lightly and will be dealt with accordingly. My work as a Disciple of Gloria has been mostly of the mundane. I help keep the shrine clean and aid the templars in maintaining their equipment, and take the odd shift on watch where it is needed. Mundane, but of the good sort. It feels well to do work and labor each week for Gloria, and I hope I make a good show on her behalf in those I meet while doing Her work.
This week, I have stood a few shifts around the cordons around the statue of Mangata on the beach. The sight of the slime on it fills me with an unease, especially when the light hits it just right. There is a foulness to it. My prayers go as often to Mangata as well, that this strangeness may be cleansed, and that I may return to more pleasantly mundane tasks for the templars.

Relationship Note on Calypso
I have the luxury and privilege to spend a great deal of time with the Duchess General. True much of it's been standing outside the door, staring back at the folk that likewise guard bodies for whoever she's meeting with. But the amount of time spent making sure needs are met not only for Southport but the Compact as a whole is staggering. I have encountered none that have come close to matching her in this regard as so many others.
It's a short list of ways so much could change overnight.
