Relationship Note on Sparte
When Sparte chose to raise his hand against those of the Faith, he was reckless - his actions risked civil war, they risked being misinterpreted. They insulted the Templars. They insulted the Scholars. They were wrong. But. They were also done from the best of intentions. Foolish action taken with honourable aims earned him out disfavour, and the disfavour of much of the Faith. It also earned him a chance to redeem himself - to show he is capable of growth and change. Of learning.
Recently the Templars called on our brothers and sisters in the Oathlands and pious houses to march on the Abandoned who had caused mischief in the north. Fabricated Valardin armour was found. Two tribes sworn to our enemy lie destroyed. A warlord's redoubt lies in ruins, her armies destroyed. Three threats to the Faith and to the Compact removed by a host of tens of thousands. The most unlikely contingent were from the Knights of the East Light, with Sparte. It is a long way from the Isles to the lands of Blackram. A long journey from Arx as well. Sparte made it because he understood the righteousness of the mission, and yes because his betters told him. He undertook it despite the fact I had made clear I was unsure if I could ever see my forgiving him his transgressions, that wound still raw.
I speak only for the Templars, but for us he has earned his forgiveness. The wound still hurts, and it will not mean forgetting, but he has proven himself to not be an enemy of the Templars, and perhaps even re-opened the door towards being a friend of the Templars. We will see what the future holds.

I entered the arena of the Golden Hart the other evening, to the sound of wild cheers. Drinks flowed, and feet dangled from the rafters as a pitched battle raged in the arena between Lady Arcadia Leary and Lady Tescelina Wyrmguard. Between the sparring, and the betrothal of Petal Penrose and Cillian Weatherwood, it was a lively, exhilarating night and I truly enjoyed myself. My congratulations to Petal and Cillian, and my thanks to Princess Valencia Velenosa who showed again her magnanimous spirit and the fiery splendor of her Hart.

I suspect I may not truly be considered a courtier, if only due to lack of experience and education, but I am beyond glad to have attended the Courtier's Guild Gathering.
Firstly, one would have to nearly be insane to miss an opportunity to spend time with Radiant Bliss, especially at the Whisper House itself. As always, every detail was absolute perfection and every sense enchanted. Secondly, I made a few wonderful new acquaintances while discussing all sorts of things of serious, romantic, and fun natures. While duties necessitated my leaving before the events conclusion, the time I was able to spend there was /well/ worth letting a few piles of papers sit unattended for a bit.

It was such a delight to spend time with Lady Monique Greenmarch and Archlector Etienne. I'm always so happy to be around kind people who make me feel comfortable in their company, and they made me feel so welcome. Pharamond and I had a lovely evening.

Relationship Note on Sophie
How happy I am for the Mother Mercy, who has cast off the title of "Princess" and traded it in for the title of "Sister."
Sophie was always devout, as one must be given her job. But to take the next step and become a priestess of the Pantheon is the ultimate dedication to her craft and to her position.
It is a great sacrifice. But it is one that will benefit the People of Arx and the Compact more than they can know right now.

Another year passed and another year of service to King and Crown. Now that I have found my path with the King's Own, I find great contentment in life. To find one's purpose is the greatest fulfillment one can have, and I have found it.
I also received generous and thoughtful gifts from close friends, including a wonderful multi-course dinner (with paired wine) from the Velenosa kitchens at the invitation of Princess Ophelia. I felt as if I would bust after, but it was absolutely delicious.
But perhaps the greatest gift of all as I enter my 27th year is the gift of Hope. I do not know where it is from or what it portends. But it reminds me of what Copper taught us and what her Apprentice tells us to hold on to.
It is a cloud lifted after a long storm. I hope it means my 27th year will be my greatest yet.

It's always a worrisome thing when a relative says the 'I need to talk to you' message. Still it could have been something much worse. It's fun to see more people exploring their place in the world. I can't wait to see waht more this unlocks of our past.

Life has finally settled again. Sort of. I was able to distract myself from the pressing concerns in the Crownlands with training for the Grand Melee, but now its all rearing up again. I am not worried about Grayson's ability to handle it at all. There are a great many people all working very hard.
I look forward to co-hosting the Tournament of Thorns, so everyone can showcase their talents.

Tonight was wonderful, and I owe it all to Lady Tabitha Whitehawk, Lord Pharamond Ashford and Archlector Etienne. They are all superb company and it was a rare, true pleasure, the likes of which are rare enough these days that I sit here savoring the memory of it, finding myself longing to commit the evening to time immemorial.

I have finally made the journey from Ostria to Arx at the invitation of my dear cousin, the Marquessa Cambria. I am not certain that I have found anything as of yet that will ever win me to this city over my beloved home. But there are certainly new people and experiences to be found here that I may not have back home. We shall see.
