Black silk stockings, they will be very fetching, I am sure, on everyone. But his Grace feels that they look the most fetching on me. Black bow, little daggers, very delightful. I am sure if one can locate them, they can surely wear them on the day of the duel. I quite like the idea of everyone in stockings, flashing their ankles and thighs.

They're dueling over stockings.
Fine.
Whatever.
Silks, I tell you.

I'm caught up on my messengers... for now!
If you didn't get a response from me, it could have been misplaced.
Please don't be offended, I've come back from the north and my desk has been piled high ever since!

(OOC: If you didn't get a response on your missives, I'm sorry! Re-send!)

I received a messenger addressed to Prince Aiden Grayson-Whitehawk ...

Even though I can not marry Silas, I do love the ring to it.

I think I shall address myself as such, going forward, pending my beloved is good with that.

The form of address just made my day.

Thank you my Lord. You know who you are!

To be quite honest with you, Princess Marian, I think we all should be wearing those stockings on the day of the duel in solidarity.

That said, the next logical question is: what pattern were they? And, following that: do I have the legs for stockings?

I think the resounding answer to that last question is a whole-hearted *yes.*

Relationship Note on Edward

He would look rather foolish in her stockings but I shall not object if he chooses to wear them in his wife's honor. I of course shall be wearing mine beneath my armor when the matter is brought to bear.

Relationship Note on Victus

It appears my taste in fashion has offended a certain gentleman. I shall of course have to remedy the matter by crossing swords. It's been some time since we've had a chance to duel. I look forward to testing his mettle.

I may have become less seen of late, because of work duties that I have now taken on, but I wanted to let all my friends know I do miss you. I shall endeavour to host a dinner soon and invite you all to come join. Sometimes, the days go by so quickly when you're chasing griffons - it's just a saying friends, I've literally spent weeks behind a desk, reading. Congratulations to those of you who've had a significant impact on the world around you. I'll eventually return to that world, once I have managed this paperwork...

I am thinking of hiring an assistant...

You miss so much when you have your nose stuck in a book...

Instead I found a recipe I wish I could forget I ever saw.

Silas and I did burn it after reading, so maybe no one else will ever have to see it.

I was in a salon, surrounded by the shadows of people, their faces blurred. They whispered, a sound like falling leaves that swept around me as they looked with accusing eyes and pointed with accusing fingers. I was all alone, and shadows of scorn closed in...

I stretched my wings and flew. I flew up and up, up into the sky and among the stars, with the moonlight shining silver on my face. The moonlight surrounded me. It embraced me. Flying among the stars in the cold night air, I was free. I was in love. A man outlined in starlight reached out for me...

But the shadows that judged me had followed me, even into the sky they followed. I didn't see them until they ripped my wings away with accusing talons. Who was I to fly this way? Who was I to take his hand? The moon went dark. The moon turned to blood, a terrible staring face with hollow eyes and a gaping mouth that screamed silently through the night as I was pierced through the heart, run through and bleeding and falling to earth.

Who was I to take his hand?

The Masquerade of Mirrors was an interesting -- and unsettling -- experience, for one who's never attended it before. Still, I suppose I can see some of the attraction; setting yourself on-edge, making yourself just a bit uneasy, gets the blood flowing. I had a lovely conversation or two with people who I genuinely have no idea who they were.

And the mythology around the eclipse itself certainly puts you in a reflective state, no pun intended, on yourself and your place in the world. I do often feel like I don't understand Tehom's worship sufficiently, in some manner, and I think the Masquerade made me consider that more deeply. I don't confront my inner darkness all that often, and perhaps... I don't know, is that a failing on my part?

Still, I won't lie, I'm glad to return to my rather more Vellichorian existence now that it's done.

Relationship Note on Isabetta

It's good to have Isabetta here. She's still the same obnoxious troublemaker she was when we were children and I am sincerely delighted that she hasn't changed.

With everything else that's different now, having her smirk at me and not take me at all seriously feels like a touchstone in a rapidly shifting world.

Relationship Note on Esoka

Dame Esoka was another tutor this week. We met outside for a spirited run and I realized quickly I am not a runner! Two miles twice a day; that is what she recommends. I'm not a lazy gal, but I'm not sure how I'll be able to accomplish hat goal without passing out first.

So far the morning run has been invigorating. I mean it's shit to get up earlier than usual but once I'm out there and hit a stride, it feels great. The evening run flat out sucks. There is no sugar coating that.

After our run, she made me climb a tree. I thought I might die. It's been years since I've climbed trees but when we reached a sturdy bough and had a moment to talk and look out onto the world from way up high, it put so many things in perspective for me.

I look forward to more training exercises with Dame Esoka in the future.

Relationship Note on Marian

Princess Marian was kind enough to take me under her tutelage. She is focused and determined when it comes to wielding a sword and I greatly admire her for years of dedication she's given to her skills. I'd like to continue training with her if she'll have me and I promise no amount of distraction will pry my eyes off my goal.

I'm going to have to start praying for willpower.
