Description: Tall and built like a man who knows how to wield a sword on the battle field, Dante is a striking man in both appearance and personality. His coloring and features are favored in the South; warm, dark hair kept a little long is always styled off of his face which is perfectly clean shaven save for the well groomed mustache and the slender sliver of a soul's patch just below his lower lip. He keeps himself meticulously clean an is not unlike a cat in his feline movements. His prowess as a swordsman lies within his slow and steady gait, his sharp eyes and quick reflexes. He is never truly hurried but when focused on a task, Dante gives all of himself to the moment.

Personality: Dante is nothing if not passionate in everything that he does. He exudes an air of confidence about him that is rare for men like him; A man who has seen many things and experienced many things. Not all pleasant and yet he recalls each event as a blessing and not a curse. An exceptionally skilled swordsman, the man is pure poetry in motion. It is as if he heads into battle with the same slow steady beat as he would upon entering his private bedchamber ready for a different sort of war. He is a romantic and often waxes poetic about everything and nothing at all. There are two things he loves and reveres most in life; His sword and his passions.

Background: Dante grew up alongside his cousin Leo in the city of Tor. Though only a few years younger, theirs was a brotherly bond forged in steel. From the time Dante was old enough to hold a sword, he knew he had found his passion in life and instantly fell in love. His days consisted of eating, training, and sleeping and more training when he could fit the time in. Dante idolized Leo who has always been more like an older brother than a cousin. When Leo was sent off to live, practice and train with the Valardins, Dante begged and pleaded until he too followed in Leo's footsteps.

Their welcome home a couple of years later was not so pleasant. Things were changing quickly for Leo's family and Dante watched every bit of horrendous ordeal from the sidelines. The very moment Leo declared war on Lucien and on Southport, Dante was there to defend his cousin, his family, and his city. There was no question as to where his loyalty rested. Now, there were other Fidante's who believed Lucien's claim about Leo being illegitimate.

Once Lucien was decimated on the battlefield and succumbed to his wounds, it was time to start rebuilding Tor to it's former glory. There was never a moment where Dante did not give all of himself to the cause. It pained him to watch Leo fight not only the enemy in Southport, but also the enemy at home since Lucien was able to convince other Fidante family members to believe his lies. After many years of battling alongside his cousin, Leo named Dante Sword of Tor. It is an honor Dante takes seriously.

  • Name Summary
Aerandir A fellow kinsman whose path crossed with mine in the dark of the Observatory. I have a vivid image of him in mind all the same, painted by the eloquence of sister Dianna and his own words in equal measure, which may perhaps set the stage for disappointment should my view of him prove distorted; a commander most keen of svelte nature, tall, possessed of striking eyes and hair like the deepest of shadows. In any case, he appears a righteous man if his remark on law is aught to go by, and he is not bereft of humour, a most welcome trait in any man. Rigidness and overwhelming formality can be even more suffocating than a pair of thick hands around one's throat, after all...
Alexis the Marquis DiFidante is somehow everything I'd expect from a Lycene knight and Sword, and yet at the same time, surprisingly straightforward and honest.
Amund An earnest and keen mind and a welcoming spirit. The Sword of Tor is receptive and chivalrous and earnest to learn of the threats we face.
Anisha A freshly minted Marquis and the Sword of Tor. You expect dashing, daring, and a little mischief from a man like that. From what I can see, Marquis Dante DiFidante is eager to deliver.
Antea The new Marquis DiFidante, he made an excellent display of retaking her new home, though I expect he and the Marquessa will have much work ahead of them. I am glad that I was able to assist them in their endeavor and I hope to see both again in the near future.
Arcadia I met him when he was talking about dirty prodigals and I was sure I was going to hate him. But, he is funny and interesting and maybe one day, he will change his mind.
Arianna He really must've underestimated me because he seemed surprised with the outcome of our little dance. How. Very. Cute.
Astraea Genuine and faithful. A man who understands, at least on principle, the tenants of Gloria. He seemed sincere and earnest in his desire to do more for the people of the Compact which stood out to me more than his charm or casual affection for the Thirteenth - as one would expect of Lycene.
Berenice Delightful company. Sometimes endearingly belated in grasping wit, but that almost makes it better.
Brigida Needs to work on his ability to get people to obey him. With hope he maintains the Honour of Tor as well as Sword. He had better.
Calista My cousin, now the Marquis of Roseward, remains my Sword as long as he shall have it. He is the closest thing I have to Leo and I cherish him as if he were my own brother.
Calypso He's straight up, no bullshit. I asked questions, and he gave clear answers. I appreciate that.
Cambria The Sword of Roses, and recently elevated Marquis to the Roseward. In the past, we shared little more than pleasant exchanges at balls or galas, and while I have always found him perfectly courteous, our recent conversation has shown me that Dante is possessed of a sharp wip and fierce will. He is a credit to his House and people. Together, we shall make exceptional allies.
Catalana The sword of Tor. Handsome. Kind. Funny. Though, he does have three swords. You know what they say about a man with multiple swords.
Celeste He has some fantastic armor, but I think the will inside him is harder still.
Cocine Its so nice to finally get to meet some of the people my mother would talk about in her letters. The Marquis is every bit the card and I appreciate his wit. He was charming and polite and just the right amount of cheeky. I sincerely hope that I will get to have an abiding friendship with him and his wife soon. Definitely calls for praseodymium and rosegold, perhaps dawnstone accents.
Cornelius Sensible, good-humored, and smooth. Very patient. This Marquis is a credit to his lands and I am certain his vassals are thankful for his pleasant guidance.
Damiana What do you get when you mix cunning foxes with the iron strength of faithful Oathlanders? A DiFidante marquis who is a wonderful example of chivalric honor.
Dariel A Sword with a sword, which I understand is how it should be. Possibly with more swords to come. Still, friendly and easy company and that is a great thing.
Dianna Wise and kind; an excellent diplomat with a steady, rational mind. Such a rare combination of traits. I am honored to call him my liege and shall look forward to learning much from him.
Domonico The Sword of Tor and like he said he stands ready should need arises. I approve of that. I wonder how good he is.
Drusila This Marquis wraps himself in darkness like a comforting blanket and seems to have a sharp wit about him. I look forward to learning more about this knight of the Lyceum.
Esme I have missed him so much! It is almost like having a brother instead of a cousin. He amuses me to no end and I love him dearly. I am just so excited to be in the same city as him again.
Evelynn He loves cats, an instant plus.
Gaspar Any man that can capture the attention of our Songbird must be mightily impressive. He is smooth with his tongue and from the sound of things, smoother with his blade. It's rare that I meet a Lycene lord that I'm truly fond of, but this is one of those men.
Giulio He is a valued ally. I pray he will keep the Marquessa well. I would be... most disappointed should he fail in that duty. I have little doubt, however, that such disappointment is most unlikely.
Gwendolen Troubled, but still friendly. Didn't volunteer too much about his problems. Put my drinks on his tab, that gesture means a lot to a penniless knight.
Joaquin The good Marquis wears two swords on his person, and possesses another in spirit. Which, I could be referring to his mind, or to the blade he lost to a trickster demon when the former did not prove enough to safeguard the latter from the evil fiend's games.
Josephine I once rapped him on his ankles for pushing his wife - before she was his wife - into the pool. He took it with grace. He's a good man, he'll do right by my patron and I smile when he is near because I know that one is safe near him.
Jules He has a nice set of armor and a compelling confidence. You're not always sure when he is serious or joking and should enjoy talking to him again.
Kaldur Cavalier in an engaging way, admirably concerned for sharks. I think that's admirable, at least.
Korka A rather unexpected connection from the roses of Tor. I find him to be not at all what I would have expected and have accepted his patronage. He has a cool wit and intelligence that is very Lycene and yet a broader. Our conversations are always interesting and it's no small feat to keep my attention for long, so he's definitely someone to watch.
Leena Seems freindly, and I seem to get along with him quite well genuinely. He as well seems genuine, and knowledgeable. I hope he can help the Igniseri family...
Leola Very much a knight, for all he's a noble and risen in rank. I'm sure within his element, his blade is as sharp as his sense of fashion
Lianne Such depth beneath that charming shine, but even the charm isn't without its substance.
Liesel An agreeable and friendly noble, a rare sight. Arx continues to surprise.
Lisebet Dante does seem to be growing up into quite a charming gentleman. I appreciate the chance to share the view with someone who also appreciates the stars.
Lora I could never hope to find a better thorn among all of the roses.
Lucene I've met a lot of pleasant people during my time in Arx. Pleasant, nice, good. However, I can only count those that could make me laugh on one hand. The Marquis is one of them. His company reminds me of a potent flask of rum. If said flask could talk.
Lucita Handsome and charming, skilled and subtly intelligent. I can easily see why Duchess Calista values him.
Lucrezia Fidante's Sword and Admiral. What I always wanted to be, but cannot and what I am, but surprised he is. And that face. Yes, I saw that first, but what he is made me curious.
Mabelle Very handsome. Seems eager to help, appreciates friendships and good humor. What's not to like.
Maja This lord has the most amazing name that I have ever come across: DANTE FI/DANTE/. And just like his wonderful name, this man is a delight. I cannot wait to see all that he will accomplish!
Martino One of my finest friends and a pleasure, nay delight, to see him again!
Medeia The Marquis has good taste in wine and a humble charm, which make him easy to talk to.
Mikani A man who seems to love his wife greatly. Makes me smile, also earns my respect.
Miranda This Sword of Tor is an interesting fellow. Easy to talk with and shares my feelings on the Shrines and Pantheon. I'm sure he's a Sword I'd gladly be able to get along with
Mirari Aah, the Marquis diFante. We've met on occasion. I'm pretty sure I sparred him with my claws. People underestimate my claws.
Mirk Sword of Tor, and a steady hand in unsteady circumstances. I can think of much worse people to have at your back in dangerous situations.
Monique This man is Unique, and I can give no greater compliment. Family above all, with a sly wit that wars with an earnest nature. It's endearing.
Narcissa My brother, and bane of poetry's very existence. For all of his lack of verse based talent, he has an abundance of capacity to love. His care for Lora is something to behold alongside those ideals and morals held close to heart.
Ophne Lord Dante's vanity in his manner of dress, belies the soldier he is. He didn't offend me, even if I did him. I'd not mind if our paths crossed again, and I don't say that of many.
Petal A Lord and a warrior and a man who likes roses and paintings with roses. I think I like him.
Piccola I am surprised it has taken me this long to get a good feel for the Lord Marquis, but I am not surprised how genial and social he seemed to be.
Poppy An odd sense of humor. I have no idea if he was joking about being poisoned. I will have to be careful if he ever offers me something to eat or drink.
Quenia I am forever grateful for the help he was willing to offer to myself, and to my city of Granato, helping to work toward a common goal to save my city from a potential dark threat.
Raimon It it is good to see my cousin again. He is much as I remember him.
Rane A master with the blade and fearless besides. I hope him to be an ally and a friend in the coming days. There's a bond between us now, and I would see that bond strengthened.
Ras Heard good things about this guy from Josephine. But I don't think we'd ever really get along. He's the kinda silk who's happy with the ladder how it is. Best to keep a distance for now.
Reese The Sword of Roses. He has a very likable and even fun way about him.
Revell He's probably a nice enough guy, for a silk, but he gets along too well with Lord Cornelius Blackshore for me to trust him. Stuffy.
Richard A decorated man who seems to have found the trick to enjoying every piece of life, but with the wisdom to avoid that abominable Fizz-Key nonsense.
Rysen Narcissa's brother, and a nobleman of fine taste, whose company I always enjoy. I'm happy to see his family growing, and have no doubt that Roseward will flourish under his leadership.
Sabine It is just and right that a Sword must have many edges, that they should be sharp. But it's what those edges frame which sparks more interest. So few speak in layers.
Saoirse Flirty, but with a purpose. I do appreciate his disdain for this new wave of shav-fashion, though.
Sebastian A quiet man. Difficult to ascertain a sense from him, though he does make his dislike plain enough if in a polite fashion.
Sigurd A good man, holds his values close to his chest and heart. It's nice to know that there are some Lycene's that are trustworthy.
Tatienne A polite and charming nobleman, and one who has promised to spend his silver on my services, all good things.
Thea Curious. Smarter than I thought he'd be. I wonder how it holds up...
Thomas It is good to know my cousin has found a compassionate and competent match in Marquis Dante, and I hope we have the opportunity to become friends as well as family.
Verity A clever man with a clever sword! If his bladework is on par with his socializing then he must be skilled indeed. I feel as if a verbal spar with him would count as my exertion for the day.
Vicente He was likely the favorite of your nephews, you remember him fondly. Unfortunately as he's grown, you've diminished in his estimation. You'd do anything for him but don't actively seek him out.
Vitalis Treating people with dignity costs very little. Respect, a coin once squandered, hard to earn again.
Vulpiano He's changed and grown since the last time I saw him. No more the boy ever by Leo's side, nor the young man forged during the war. He no longer seems so conflicted with himself. I hope he's found some inner peace for himself, truly, though given where he is now and with whom, he seems to have done so.
Willow Goodlooking but mean. Kind of like a snake. A very irritated snake. I prefer Angelo which says alot as Angelo showed up at my house and stripped and went swimming after I told him I was uncomfortable getting naked with him.
Ysabel Oh he's an imposing man but so very confusing. I'm glad that his wife understands him though. And he clearly and dearly loves his son.
Zoey friendly, personable, knows when it is appropriate to change the subject.
