Today I met with Joscelin of the Crafter's Guild and took out a loan so that I can afford to set up my own shop. I hope that things go well, and it was very kind of the Guildmaster to allow me this kindness. I hope that I don't let her down.

There's nothing in this World as amazing as the selflessness that comes from Love built from Friendship. I don't have to prove my worth and value to any but those I love, and that I do by being who I am, with confidence that those I love appreciate the good and accept the bad. Does anything else really matter?
We are all dying, every moment that passes of every day. That is the inescapable truth of this existence. It is a truth that can paralyze us with fear, or one that can energize us with impatience, with the desire to explore and experience, with the hope and will to find a memory in every action. To be alive, under sunshine, or starlight, in weather fair or stormy. To dance with every step, be they through city streets or through deep mountain snows.
It's with the type of friends I've been blessed by the Spirits to find that I'm able to live a life worth celebrating. I'm not the easiest man to be around some days, Spirits know I've taken my beatings for it, but the fact that I still get to see some of you every day means I must not be that much of an ass. I Thank the Spirits for the people they've brought into my life.

I find the days I have spent since the battle for the walls of Setarco in a considerable amount of self-reflection, silence, and contemplation. I feel sorrow for those many souls that died.
I am proud of those that stood when they did not have to in the defense of the people. I am proud of those who came to the defense of their blood. And proud of the people who defended their homes.
I will pray for all.

Had some great dagger and combat training with the mighty Caspian the other day! Talk about invigorating! I mean, sure, he knocked me out and I ate a mouthful of dirt, but this Caspian we are talking about. I must let me be known, though, that I did get one hit on him! I'll call it a victory for the day.

I had thought a Grand Opening would be in order, but it seems a poor time to do such, when the focus of the city should be upon the many memorial services being held. Certainly I shall have one, later, but until then? For the curious out there, looking for something a bit different in your venue for drinking: I am pleased to announce that Raconteur Brewing is officially opened for business, with a Taproom you can come, sit, and enjoy a drink in. We have a variety of choices, from ciders to ales and stouts and whiskey and more, with a stock that will change seasonally, and a couple of choice products that I will only be selling once. You'll find the brewery in the very south west corner of the Ward of the Compact, on Lyceum Way South.

A tiring time. I am quite thrilled about joining the Academy and taking my first step to a Scholar proper, as well as passing the test for the Society of Explorers. This gives me a great deal of joy. Other than that, I need to assess things in my life and take steps to get things in order now that I've been here long enough to do so, less naive then I used to be and more cognizant of the choices I must make and duties to fulfill.

After Stormwall, it seems there's so much to be said, but so little that hasn't been said better elsewhere. I am simply grateful to all of the Northern army that rallied to its defense and the commanders that led it. I am eternally proud to be where I am from and my Northern kin and those who we've accepted as our own. I am pleased by the foreigners of the Compact who came to defend us up there and did not cast anything negative towards us or our beliefs. And most of all, let us honor all who fell in defense of Stormwall, and the city itself that became the ultimate sacrifice to stop the dark legions that were intent on far worse.
