I was very honored to dine with Marquessa Samantha and many other fine people this evening. I met those I might not otherwise and we had a wonderful discussion on a variety of topics. Mistress Culler, Duke Cristoph Laurent, and Whisper Lumen. While not one for stepping out of my shell I am glad I did and for the opportunity. It was an...enlightening evening. I'm not sure I'm thrilled about the circumstances, but I'm happy--if wary--to be here.
The city has changed so much! Not to mention my House. I'm so uncertain how to step, these days, and where to go.
I hope I find a friend, someone to help guide me. But I am aware it is difficult to gain my trust. One may even call me 'prickly'.
I hate being this adrift.

Truly, I have the best brother in all of Arvum and the most glorious champagne silver "Heart of the north" ring as a gift from him. It is stunning, but what really makes it special is that it now sits on the finger where a ring my mother had given me, before leaving Farhaven, had been. I had given it to Lagoma's flame at the Thirteen Lamps ceremony and just never got around to attempting to replace it. It seemed too special, really, having had been a gift from her. I suppose the fates are indeed curious.
