It has been a whirlwind of a week and it is not even half over! Let me start off with the WEDDING, which was amazing! It was everything I ever dreamed and moreso! Thank you so much for everyone that turned out for it! And if you did not get a commemorative tiara please let me know and we will be sure to get one to you!

It really was an absolutely beautiful ceremony. My cousin, Prince Gareth, accompanied me down the aisle while Marquis Kennex accompanied Niklas. Seraph Ailith has clearly done many a wedding before ours for she spoke with eloquence and sincerity and while I thought my heart was already full it was bursting over by the time she had us say our vows. Niklas surprised me with a gorgeous iridescite ring with a dawnstone that I just adore! It's so beautiful! And his vows, which he did not write beforehand, were touching and compelling and amazing and if I hadn't been in love with him already I would've fallen fully and completely in love with him right then. I truly cannot wait for our future to happen together. We will write such a tremendous story!

And it started with an amazing party! I have to thank Princess Tikva for all of her attention to detail, and his Majesty for allowing us the use of his palace for a night! There was music and dancing and laughter and singing and the best conversations ever! I didn't get to spend nearly as much time with everyone as I wanted, but I shall make up for that in the next coming days, I promise!

Then there was the opening of Bold Expressions, a unique little shop that mostly serves coffee although there are lots of other things on the menu. I highly recommend their lavender latticework drink and the chocolate chip muffin! The opening was interrupted a bit by a duel between Prince Laric and a man named Skald that everyone seemed very taken with. I am assured that it was really the god Skald, but it does leave me wondering why we build temples where we go to pray if bulletin boards seem to do the trick better. Perhaps we ought to build more bulletin boards?

And then tonight there was a winter festival right in the city center! Niklas and I competed in two events! Well, we competed in the snowball competition with Sir Jeffeth and came in second, with the win going to High Lord Victus, Prince Barric, and Master Caspian. It was a very well played match! And then, I'm not really sure what you'd call what we did in the sledding competition. Epic failure does not seem to quite cover it, but at least we tried and only a poor, bystanding snowman was injured to the point that no mercies could help him. I'm really still very sorry about that, Little Moser! The top hat you had chosen for him was very sporting!

Relationship Note on Victus

Might I suggest 'Vicious, Dog of Victus'? It kind of rhymes. Bonus points if the dog is small and of seemingly no threat.

It's been nice having time to build snowmen, although it seems with the weather changing, it is moving towards Spring.

Relationship Note on Iseulet

As a woman of few words, and little comfort with recording my thoughts too extensively, Lady Iseulet has outdone herself. This trade route was an almost impossible achievement made possible through the Empyrean's philosophical belief in getting it done, together. Well done.

Most notably I'd like to thank all of the trade routes other Houses and organizations providing escort so that our goods get where we need to go. These pirates were ambitious and very well informed but thankfully nothing too ill came of it, other than quite a few memorable engagements.

The most productive day in a while, I think.

I've finally accepted an offer of a Patronage formally and the fruits of a few months' worth of planning have begun to ripen.

I think I'll get myself another cat to spoil. Or four, as I anticipate my next move.

Thank you everyone that helped support the route. I think I will throw a little party to celebrate our victory soon.

My son named our dog Thump. I asked him if he had a name suggestion for you and he said, "What's a Victus?"

So that didn't work out quite how I hoped.

Relationship Note on Caprice

I am delighted to report that Caprice Artiglio has accepted my offer of patronage. I think we shall work well together. Her artistry is magnificent, and I encourage anyone who hasn't seen examples of her work to visit the Silken Symphony at the earliest opportunity.

I'm very excited!

I can't remember the last time I gave over money and was spontaneously hugged and squealed at and run away from in the same minute and a half. It made me feel very appreciated and also very old.

I need to untangle this feeling. Maybe it's time I start thinking about making babies before I get much older.

While the technical marvel of a well fought duel to the first blood are a thing to behold, it makes me sad that so rarely is an issue settled with a good bracing tilt.

Since /someone/, who may or may not, be named Herald Steve tattled my plans to Captain Hardwicke Morgan. So now my plan of disguising myself as a "Mystery Champion" is off the table, I will make this offer.

If you are a Champion by trade and wish to learn how to joust, I will offer to train you free of charge.

It's been a mixed week, thus far.

I got to watch Caspian stab himself in the finger, which obviously brought me considerable pleasure. The same can be said of the new acquaintances I've stumbled across. Stumble being the operative word, thanks to a rather blurry breakfast with Prince Theo.

One particular highlight would have to be performing an impromptu duet with Mistress Melody. Not only did it have me recall how much I missed singing, but I was able to watch a particular Knight /actually/ swoon, in the presence of our combined voices. There is power in song. My blade is aptly named, after all! Perhaps I should take Mistress Gianna up on her invitation to visit the Bard's College. Life is not /just/ about getting knocked on one's arse in the training ring, day in, day out.

Speaking of which, I have still not quite forgiven a certain cousin for berating me on my approach to my training. We must each play the cards we are dealt.. and not everyone feels the need to define themselves by the size of their sword. Arrogant sod.

I took a little adventure today over a newly opened establishment called Bold Espressions!

First off, I want to comment on the atmosphere. Entering the building, one is immediately struck by the ethereal scent of coffee brewing intermixed with a wide variety of fresh pastries (and everyone knows how much I love a good pastry). The scent palette does not disappoint, nor does the atmosphere of the seating area as a whole. Warm and inviting, especially for the chill of Arx winter. It also houses a beautiful array of artwork as well as a few shelving areas full of books for customers to utilize as they enjoy their drinks and snacks.

The wait staff is attentive and polite and I was surprised how quickly my order was delivered.

Speaking of that order... oh, my! I ordered a blanched peppermint coffee and it was just delicious. I wasn't certain how the flavor notes would interact with one another as both peppermint and coffee are so bold, but with the steamed milk cutting the bitterness of the coffee the flavors intermix in a delightful combination that remind me quite a bit of memories of Year's End. Delightful. I plan to return to try a bit of everything on their extensive menu (which will most definitely take me quite a few visits)!

So, if you're in the mood for a relaxing escape from your day to day and enjoy a calm atmosphere and either a traditional or more unique flavor of coffee... stop by Bold Espressions!

Also, while I haven't had a chance to try it myself, I have on good authority their ginger spice cake is just to die for!

I got a hug from Skald!! Well, alright, so perhaps it was more that I threw myself at him and he picked me up out of reflex as one might a charging chicken. But STILL. I got to hug Skald! And I got to say hello to Shard, who I had not seen in ages, which was also fantastic. I do so enjoy reading her journals, as I often find myself inspired by her words. Thought provoking, certainly, and in good ways. But I digress, SKALD!

I feel tingly at the memory. It is like the best part of praying. When you open up your heart and you pour yourself into the songs and you feel so close to them. Magic. That is truly magic. Meeting Prism was awe inspiring. Skald was awesome in a fully different and yet fundamentally similar way. Prism was made of light and joy and laughter. There was something ephemeral and other about her that was exquisite. Skald seemed to be formed of the very bones of Aion. He was hyper real. Solid and comprised of all that is real and tangible and true. And he was funny. I adore that.

I love this world. I love this city. I love the fact that for once I was true to my desires and I approached the god of Freedom as I wished to and I held nothing back. I was me. I was, in that moment, utterly, unrestrainedly, free.
