Comments and Log
For those wishing to spectate there are tables and chairs set about the Lodge grounds. A large table as been set up for refreshment for both those watching and the hunters. Pork pies, fruit pastries, crumbling cheeses, cured meat and thick cut bread to partake in. Wine, whiksey, water and tea are being set out by attendants and Saedrus is present by the tables, a glass of port in hand. He's still done up with his flower crown, because why not.
Saedrus steps away from the tables for the spectators, though not far, to greet any new comers to the Lodge, "Welcome to the hunt! And welcome back for some of you. The next will be the boar hunt, and this can be quite dangerous so those participating please do be careful. I can offer some assistance if anyone is hurt but do not put yourself in a poorly situation. Khinn will be following the group out though I am sure Dame Leola will as well. The best of luck to all of you."
Khinn, the attendant and proxy presence for the Whisper who sure as abyss isn't going after boars, is off to one side, checking his leathers before this one. Ugh Boars.
Fiora has joined the wrought, dark wood tables and unique chairs.
Alexis has joined the line.
Estaban has joined the line.
Artorius has joined the line.
Estaban wields Riptide, the Southport Admiral's cutlass.
Lou has joined the line.
Esoka looks all of eager for the boar hunt to begin. Despite - or perhaps because - of Saedrus' warning about the danger of it. She's readied herself with wooden hunting spears strapped to her back. Several. She expects some boar breakage to be involved in this.
Esoka has joined the line.
From the depths of the Lodge appears the Malvici woman carrying a bottle of Southport Red. "Found it," she harkens to Leola. "Knew you'd keep stock in case we'd visit." Fiora cradles the prized possession and settles at one of the tables, reaching for a glass to pour for herself. "Is that Arty, I spotted?" Malvici senses tingle and the hooded woman turns her head to whistle sharply at Artorius. "If you don't bag one, I'm pushing you off the roof. Good luck, Arty!"
Lou seems a bit more hesitant about this one, but she gets in the line for the hunters none-the-less. She grins a Estaban and Esoka, saying, "Good Luck," to them both.
Marian has joined the line.
It seems that right when Saedrus speaks is also the time when Artorius arrives. wearing formal clothes with armored additions from a previous duty in Southport Square, he would lower the hood of his clook. "whew, doesn't look like I missed it." he smiles. Though it's clear by his attitude he has no qualms about getting messy...after all, gotta love those pigs!
Though his Malvici senses also seem to ring as he turns his head to Fiora a microsecond before she calls to him. "Hah! I'd like to see you try! I'll bag the family dinner!" he smiles and gives a thumbs up.
Alexis hasn't brought her armour, or her glaive. But she's not stupid enough to go boar-hunting unprotected. So she speaks to some members of the lodge, and gets a large boar-hunting spear as well as what can best be called a perfunctory leather jerkin. Then, spotting Esoka, she shoots the woman a grin, and gets another hunting spear, moving over to Esoka. "So. Team up at the start?" She suggests, with a little grin. "We can try to chase boars at each other or some such?"
Estaban looks up from where he was leaning under a dree with his eyes closed resting for a few moment, pushing off the tree he rolls his shoulders and stretching some as he gets ready, "Good luck Lou, Dame Esoka." he nods with a smile on his lips.
Leola smiles, though her hands are tinged with pink, and there is red underneath her fingernails now "Welcome, and thank you for coming" She says seriously "This is the most dangerous of the three hunts we are leading. Petrichor teaches us much - he teaches us to watch for opportunity, and to chase them as they come. He teaches us to respect the world around us - and this is where we tread, for we are hunting boars. We hunt on foot, and you will not be using the bow. For those who are not used to them, I recommend a boar spear, but any melee weapon will do. Remember, the boar is a byword for ferocity, even more than the shark - they will happily run themselves through to gore you. So temper your bravery with your will, and may Petrichor guide your hands" She drops a small curtsy. It leaves fingerprints of pink blood on her white skirts
Someone was busy but now she's not and Alarissa shows up just in time to hear the annoucement of the boar hunting. There's a sigh as it seems she missed the more tamer game hunting, and moves to join the rest of the spectators, listening to Leola and Saedrus speak.
"Good luck all around!" Esoka calls out, loud and boisterous, to her fellow competitors. To Alexis, she nods. "I'd not mind someone having my back against those creatures. They are fearsome opponents, as Dame Leola wisely says. I can watch you if you run into too much trouble, and you can do the same for me."
Marian has been at the event all day, having participated in the pheasant and stag hunts. Now it's time for bacon, a food close to her heart. She has her leather on and spears primed. Two spears are on her back while on is in her hand. She has her curved shortsword on her hip only for a last resort. There's a knife in her boot. It's clear that Marian means serious business.
"Watch me," Fiora dares with a scoff. "One charge and dodge and it's good night, Arty. Bag the largest and next dinner I'll bring the whiskey." She salutes her cousin with a lift of her wine glass, then drinks while eyeing the fellow spectators.
Fiora adds, "And don't skewer Lord Estaban. He's a good shot."
It is now Alexis's turn to speak.
The trek in from the Lodge of the Petrichor out into Gray Forest is not a long one, nor particularly hard but it is a great deal further than the others had been. It is deeper into the forest where it grows darker for the outstretched and intertwined boughs overhead. There wouldn't be enough room for mounts in this close confines amongst tree limbs and dense shrub -- but there is room enough to tromp through the damp under growth. Space enough for close combat with spears and swords. There are distant grunts and rooted marks from tusks on the trees passed; the boars aren't far.
"Deal," Alexis offers to Esoka. "Petrichor give us favour, eh?" She adds, bumping her shoulder into that of the larger woman. And then they're off. Alexis has some experience with hunting, especially at foot, and she manages to find prey soon enough - a boar that quickly takes offense to her presence. She also has a lot of practice setting her spears against charges, and soon it's all over but the squealing, the short knight bringing out her dagger and planting it quickly in the boar's skull to end its suffering.
It is now Estaban's turn to speak.
Alarissa has joined the wrought, dark wood tables and unique chairs.
"Please do not Skewer Lord Esteban indeed. I'm quite fond of him." Alarissa remarks from near Fiora, watching the others trot off to hunt down wild pig.
"Friend of him?" Fiora supposes, asking after drinking her wine. The glass returns to the table to have a refill poured. While waiting, she leans back to whisper with Leola, at one time flashing her smile thinly.
Saedrus settles into a chair, all silk and flowers, to watch the goings on with a quiet worry about evergreen eyes. At least he has port.
Estaban breaths deeply giving his dog a command to stay where he is and off into the woods he goes, he is dressed in green colored leathers that help him blend in and the large man seems to know how to move about the woods. He is in there for a few moments of silence and then there is a sound that only wild hogs make that hits the air, snorts and squiels as if it where attacking something then a lowed squiel hits the air and then once again silence and out from the woods comes walking Estaban not wounded and he was lucky for such as its been a while since he has been out hunting hog.
It is now Artorius's turn to speak.
"A friend, and just such." Alarissa remarks to Fiora, finding a seat after searching and sussing out some tea and much like Saedrus, settle in for the hunt and returning victors.
Artorius wears seemingly all black today as he moves out into the woods, spear in hand. It seems he takes his time sneaking a bit...due to his size, he's not the stealthiest person in the world....but then, the spear leaves his hand, and a boar cries out as it is struck down. Artorius approaches it and hoists that bad boy on his shoulder with an arm, and out he returns, not a single scratch on his form. "Well...that was fun."
It is now Lou's turn to speak.
Saedrus smiles to Fiora and Alarissa, "please do excuse a moment," he bids before taking himself off to speak with his attendants.
Khinn is still with the hunt and ever watchul -- seems like th emost of them are alive still. His jobs done.
Baron Archibald Chirpington, a Gyrfalcon arrives, delivering a message to Alarissa before departing.
Dressed in her regular camouflage adventuring leathers, Lou takes to the woods and very carefully manages to find a boar ripe for the plucking; a nice, fat, plump one rooting up mushrooms. She has away about the woods that makes it easy for her to blend in, and then suddenly she is on top of the boar, coming from behind and stabbing the beastie right at the base of the neck to sever its spine using her steel falchion. The boar doesn't go down easy, struggling, but eventually it does go down.
While having herself missed the earlier morning hunts, Sabella slips onto the grounds of the Lodge belatedly though there is no hurry in her step. She gazes out towards the woods where the hunters roam even as she moves along the pathway towards the dark wooden tables and intricate chairs set up outside to gather and hear the tales of each hunter's return. A smile flickers across her features as she approaches the small group gathered at the table. A dip of her head is given before her voice chimes a soft, "Greetings.. Hopefully I haven't missed all of the hunt?" A touch distracted as her head tilts to watch as Lou slinks into the wood.
It is now Esoka's turn to speak.
Fiora pounds a fist twice to the table. "One for one. Good job, Arty, Lord Estaban." The Malvici seems pleased, difficult to be certain with her hood up, but she does toast her statement, drinking deep of her wine glass. "How did you come to know him?" pointedly asks Fiora to Alarissa, her frosted blue eyes narrowing to assess the other woman.
Renault, a floofy persian cat arrives, following Selene.
"Through a former lady in waiting of mine. She spoke of him often enough." She looks to Fiora. "Fear not, I'll not be staking a claim on him. It is friendship and lightly such. I am married after all." She points out, noticing the narrowed eyes.
Saedrus returns from whatever small business kept him and takes a seat back at the tables and chairs to spectate.
Sabella has joined the wrought, dark wood tables and unique chairs.
And off to the hunt Esoka goes. She sticks with Alexis for a good part of her venture into the forest. When no goring's occur, she takes off to track one for herself. The tracks have been trod over, making them a little dodgy to trace, but she manages. And then, she is upon one of the creatures. A spear is //thrown//, hitting its mark in the neck but good. Another in the side to take it down, and then upon it with her sword to cut his throat and finish it off.
Selene, too! She's supposed to helping Saedrus with all these things, but who knows what thing might have distracted her! And surely she's not here to hunt herself, so she happily takes up a place with those seated to spectate. "Hello, dears."
Selene has joined the wrought, dark wood tables and unique chairs.
Marian heads off into the brush, her spear at the ready. She keeps an eye on the other nobles around her, noting their position. Then she listens for the snorting sounds of the boards. The clip of their hooves as they move through the twigs. The gleam of those tusks that she doesn't want anywhere near her. When the boars are discovered, she moves quickly, jumping over a tree trunk and striking the boar from above. She rams the spear in the back of the neck, keeping those deadly tusks away from her. She holds there as the beast struggles, lashing out. Luckily for the first bit she's able to make it through without getting grazed. She gives a quick prayer to Petrichor in thanks for his bounty.
It is now Marian's turn to speak.
Estaban smirks once his weapon is cleaned and the boar was placed where Leola wanted it he moves over in the direction of Fiora and Alarissa, "Ahh Princess Alarissa! it has been some time, I hope you are well?" he smiles moving to take a seat for the moment, he looking to Fiora with a grin, "Lady Fiora, as always good to see you."
Khinn grunts low and considers the kills with a scope of dark eyes, he tracks to Leola briefly before he goes to see the beasts are roped up and readied for gutting.
Leola smiles to the groups as the catches are brought in, looking decidedly relieved "It's good to see you all came back safe and hale" She nods slowly, making a show of investigating the spitted animals, tagged with colored ribbons "Mmm. My apologies, your highnesses, Princesses Lou and Marian - fine showings, and fine beasts, but I'm afraid our knights are rather in their element here" She beams "Dame Alexis and Esoka, Lords Estaban and Artorius. Again, if you will" She sweeps her hands for the forest
Fiora scoffs and brings a fisted hand against her lips. Her exhaled breath struggles with another sound from the back of her throat. She quietly speaks to Alarissa, her head so angled to add shadows to her features which appear taunt in places around the mouth and brow. Her fingers blindly claim her wine glass, lifting the rim to her lips for a deep drink.
Alexis has joined the line.
Esoka has joined the line.
Lou bows her head at Leola. "At least I did not get skewered!" she calls out good naturedly, then goes to take a seat amongst the others.
Marian gives a hearty laugh and nods, satisfied at her showing for today's events. She gives Alexis, Esoka, Estaban and Artorius salutes for ending up in the next round. She makes a point of sending a drink towards Lou to celebrate not getting skewered.
Artorius smiles to Fiora "Thank you, Fio. Happy to see you again." he chuckles "and look, I didn't skewer Estaban." bonus points!
Alexis sketches a bow to the two princesses. "A fine showing, your highnesses. And well hunted!" She offers, as she readies herself to go out again.
Fiora is overheard praising Artorius for: For not skewering, Lord Estaban. No, off the roof this time.
Whatever Fiora speaks to Alarissa, has the Thraxian Princess raising her brows. "Delightful. I'm sure." Whatever that might mean.
Artorius has joined the line.
"Excellent! I am far more glad both your Hignesses have returned quite unharmed. A wonderful show of skill by both," Saedrus applauds for Lou and Marian.
Estaban has joined the line.
It is now Alexis's turn to speak.
A chair is claimed nearby the small gathered group about the table as Sabella brushes a hand behind her before sliding into one to smooth her dress. She settles against the back easily even as the conversation continues and Estaban joins. A smile is given to Saedrus at his words though she makes a low sound, one of mirth at his humility before a quirk is seen upon her lips. Her expression smooths out after a moment as she reposes. One hand slips out to draw a tea cup before her, before dropping a satchel into it. Her back straightens as she reaches to lift a kettle of hot water to fill her cup. Her gaze lifting in the midst as she smiles to Lou, "I would have thought you might ride would back in, Lou."
"Next round, anything goes, Arty. Lord Estaban." Fiora smirks, lips thinning, as her eyes glint in a rare showing of amusement. The look disappears to stoicism when turning to face the others at the table.
Marian settles in with a glass of wine and waits for the conquering heros to return with their boars. She notices Alarissa there and starts to make her way over to her.
Estaban ohs and hears his named called again, "If you all will excues me a moment." he nods his head getting ready again, he bows to those who did not get called again, "A good hunt!" he calls to them and readies himself again rolling his shoulders.
Esoka bows deep to Lou and Marian as they depart the competition. There's blood on her leathers, but it's from the first boar she downed. She hasn't spilled any of her own...yet. She says a few soft words in Crownlands shav that end in "Petrichor" over the fallen beast, then leaves her kill to the care of the Lodge attendants. And then readies herself to go out again, checking over her remaining spears.
Alexis once more sticks close to Esoka - and once they hunt down the boars, well, this time she takes a more offensive tack. The young blonde's voice echoes through the woods, as she lets out a very non-intimidating and rather high-pitched roar, charging at them with her spear lowered, crashing into the animal's side and being tossed over it, tumbling as the animal turns on her. She gets to her feet, and manages to barely dodge out of the way of the wounded, angry animal's counter-charge, picking up a second spear and piercing the creature through the eye when it, too, turns around, and tries to gore her once more.
It is now Esoka's turn to speak.
"Lady Malvici, I'm married to the High Lord of Thrax. Ask me now the question out loud, in front of the others and see if i'll blush." There's the faintest roll of her eyes and Alarissa's rising to meet Marian partway and slide her arm into that of the Redrain Princess with a smile. "How is my darling neice?"
Saedrus' gaze turns between Alarissa and Fiora with a steady gaze.
Alarissa has left the wrought, dark wood tables and unique chairs.
Selene leans forward a bit from the table, eyes bright as Alarissa's words seem to suggest something... juicy? She's a sucker for that kind of thing!
Marian gives Alarissa a grin, "Nia is doing well." She glances at Alarissa's stomach to see if there's any evidence of a baby bump, "And you? How are you faring? I hope you're doing much better than I did." Being pregnant was horrible for Marian and it shows on her face. She takes a sip of her wine and nods to where the heroes are off fighting boar, "I'm curious to see who will be the victor. My money is on Alexis."
Fiora curls her finger toward a servant and speaks directly into his ear. "Like your style," she says finally to Alarissa. "There's too many blushers in the courts." She takes her glass in hand, toasts, and drinks of it more.
Esoka keeps pace with Alexis as she comes upon her quarry but, when it's plain the woman can handle it, ventures deeper and deeper into the woods. She's tracking a //big// one this time. She's not given to stealth by nature, but she's a trained huntress and is able to move quietly among the trees, sticking to the shadows. The scent of the first boar she downed likely helps mask her own, because she finds a whallop of a thing at the end of her trail. A great, old male, with long, wicked tusks and shoots of white in his brown fur. He grunts fiercely when he sees her, and charges. Her spear is up to meet him, and she gets in a clean hit to his middle, but it's not the end of him. His tusks flash off of her armor, drawing blood, and it takes some quick fighting and another two spears to bring him down. She's breathing hard at the end of it and as she stands, shakily, she offers a bow to the downed boar. Then brings her blade across her throat to give him a merciful end. And then, out of the forest she drags herself, battered by proud.
It is now Artorius's turn to speak.
"Likey the Dame Wyrmguard. She surprises many when they really shouldn't be." There's nothing to see. Corsets do a great deal to hide burgeoning baby bumps, that and higher waists. "Language lessons, economic lessons. Fighting with his cat." Alarissa stands talking with Marian. "I will have to have a new boat made for her every year till she has her own fleet." The look from Saedrus though, she she glances over is accompanied by a shake of her head and an assuring smile.
Saedrus' attention is first to Alarissa, a small dip of his still flower-crowned head, before Saedrus starts to his feet. "I should go and get some of the balms, and such, I think." he excuses himself with. A beat and he speaks to his table quietly then excuses himself to the Lodge proper.
"Fighting with his cat? Now this I have to hear," Marian tells her, glancing about to see if there's a place they can sit and get caught up, "And she loves the boat at bathtime. Her eyes follow it." Of course mom could just be talking, "Fergus can barely let Nia out of his sight. He's so enraptured with her."
Marian has joined the wrought, dark wood tables and unique chairs.
Alarissa has joined the wrought, dark wood tables and unique chairs.
Saedrus has left the wrought, dark wood tables and unique chairs.
Artorius wanders out into the woods once more, though he goes ever so deeper into the wood. This time, he manages once again not to be detected by the creature he would find, taking a deep breath and throwing the spear from his hand. Once more, a sharp cry from the woods that ends as quickly as it came, and once more from the woods does Artorius walk out of the woods without a scratch on him, and other boar on his shoulder. "I should make this a hobby...."
It is now Estaban's turn to speak.
Estaban comes back out into the woods slipping ineasily hidding himself stalking along a path he finds and spotting another beast, taking a deep breath in and letting out he moves quickly the sound of the pig squealing hitting the air and then silence his sword hitting the mark and putting the animal down quickly. He comes back out with the boar slung over his shoulders and putting it down nodding to everyone there, he smiles seeming proud of himself.
Again, Leola spends her time examining the kills, the size of the animals, the cuts and strikes. She examines the hunters, as well, for gore or graze, and sucks in her cheeks as she makes her decision "Thus far, each has been three hunts" Leola says "For the Triad, three of three. The same shall be here. Dame Esoka, Lord Artorius - congratulations, and may you be safe in your last hunt. Lord Saik, Dame Alexis, thank you for the honor you have shown us" her voice is somewhat nervous, glancing to their guests, and she smiles wanly "Dame Alexis, as well. I know you helped with them, but ... for you, for competing"
Saedrus returns out from the Lodge and waits patiently with a small bag of-- assumedly healing requirements and lingers by the edge of the grounds for those that may be in need of it. Looking at you Esoka.
Alexis bites her lip, a little, in disappointment. But she bows, and accepts the knife. "Thank you, Paladin. It will go in my collection." Raising the blade, and giving a whistle to Esoka. "Make me proud, Dame Esoka!" She offers, and sketches a bow to the two lords. "Lord Artorius, Lord Estaban - you've hunted well. May Petrichor favour you in this last hunt."
Marian glances up from her conversation to clap for Esoka and Artorius who have made it to the final round. She gives Estaban and Alexis a salute for a good try.
As some of the hunters return, Sabella's attention lifts from the conversation at the table a moment. She shifts in her chair towards where Estaban and Leola bring their prizes even as others continue out in the woods. "Well done!" she calls to each and for any she might have missed!
"I would like the tusks from this old father, if it please you," Esoka asks of the Lodge attendant she leaves her last, large quarry with. "He put up a rare fight and was plainly a creature of honor and power in this forest. I have never faced the like of him, and would remember him." That said, she bows, taking a moment to bind up the tusk wound on her arm before she's off again, after offering a knightly salute to Alexis and Estaban. She's accustomed to these trails by now and follows them with more ease, though the skill of all the hunters has made the boars more skittish. It takes her longer to find another - a younger male less fierce than the old man she slew on her last venture. A thrown spear before he's aware of her wounds him, and she plants her feet hard on the ground to stand and face his charge with another. It gets him in the skull solidly and manages to slay him before his tusks strike her.
Estaban bows his head to all, "A good Haunt, thank you for letting me fdo so at all of your sides." he smirks and looks to Art not suprised really, he moves to the side line to watch and wait.
Alexis is return and Alariss looks disappointed for the sight of the woman and yet there is clapping for the armorsmith and a gesture for her to join Alarissa and MArian when she is done.
Saedrus claps for both Alexis and Estaban on their return, "very well done, the both of you." he beams brightly, probably more pleased they aren't hurt.
Selene likewise rises as some of the party returns to them, although others yet return for their final test. She brings her hands together in a quick touch of applause. "Yes, an impressive display by all of you, I must say." A smile is turned between Alexis and Estaban. "And now surely you've earned a rest and a drink?"
Alexis is a bit dirty and has a few scrapes after her tumble, but nothing that requires medical attention. Bowing to Saedrus - and moving to join Alarissa and Marian, sketching a bow to the Princesses and the Radiant Selene as well. "Hopefully. I can't stay too long, I'm afraid. There's the Spring Soiree, and I have to get ready for that." She admits. "I will try to do better next time." exhaling. Considering the downed animals. "Still, should make for a decent aamount of pork for the people." She concludes.
Alright.....once more unto the breach. Artorius heads off once more into the woods, twirling his spear as he manages to somehow sneak up on a particularly large boar, and with a big throw, he pins the boar with his sharp weapon, ending it's life. Hoisting it up onto his shoulder, laying across his upper back to make it easier, and he just smiles to everyone present. "Whew, this has been a fun competition." he smiles happily, setting his weapon down as he returns. Once again, not a scratch.
Alexis has joined the wrought, dark wood tables and unique chairs.
Leola nods slowly as she looks over the taken animals, studying them again, before she smiles faintly and moves to speak "Thank you, all, for whichever of the hunts you have taken part in. Lord Artorius, Dame Esoka, you have both shown great skill, and great courage. I cannot commend these qualities enough" She produces two more of the knives, passing one to each "For this hunt, though, the old monster Dame Esoka took was enough to win this. So, I say, congrations to you, Dame Esoka. We had intended to give the first of the horses trained through the Lodge to one of the victors; if you wish him, he'd carry you proudly"
"Far better than I could do," Sabella responds in kind to Alexis with a chuckle. "I probably would have just gotten lost out along the way. So cheers!" She lifts a cup of tea in her hand, even if it is just tea.
Sir Gerallt Dapperhoof, an overly proud courser, of horser have been dismissed.
Marian claps for Esoka's victory on the boar hut. She gives Artorius a sympathetic look because she's been that close before in the competition. With the end of the hunts, she raises her glass for Leola and Saedrus for their fine hosting of the event. She encourages others to toast them.
"Congratulations on your win, Dame Esoka. And a brilliant hunt from you as well, Lord Artorius." Saedrus applauds again with a bright smile for the two remaining hunters. "So too, I wish to give great thanks to each of you, for your show of skill and your bravery today. And for those of you that have been here for the entire hunt, you are bravest of all." A smile cast to Lou, Marian, Estaban and Alexis. "Dame Leola, thank you so very much for being such a wonderful help in this endeavour, and I do hope those that have attended have enjoyed themselves. There is certainly a wonderful bounty from the day for which we can thank the Pantheon and today, especially, Petrichor for these blessings." Saedrus bows to those gathered as a whole, "for now, please enjoy the refreshments and company. Any that require aid, I can provide what I could though I would suggest seeking the Mercies once you return to the city. You should all be proud for your efforts, determination and skill. Thank you again, and now, I think it is best for all to relax." Saedrus smiles happily, smiling a touch more when Khinn lumbers himself with a cart of the days haul behind him. Poor Khinn, he's so tired.
Fiora has left the wrought, dark wood tables and unique chairs.
There's a flash of surprise across Esoka's face when she comes out the better in this. Artorius is offered a knightly salute with one of her (few) remianing spears. And then Leola is given a deep bow. "A steed?" A wide smile flashes across her face. "Any knight would be honored beyond measure to ride a creature from the Lodge, Dame Leola. I will care for my mount like my blood, my vow to Petrichor upon it."
Estaban claps for Esoka and Art, "Way to go!" he smiles watching everyone, with a grin his blue eyes twinkling, he moves over to Leola to whisper something to her.
Selene can't help but chuckle at the problem Alexis seems to have: "It is a terrible burden, is it not, attending such a wide variety of engaging festivities?" She's joking, of course, altough there may be some element of truth in there, that keeping up with such a party circuit is no small feat. "But you did wonderfully, nonetheless." She glances out again as it seems something has happened in the hunt. "Oh, is it over?" She has no concept of judging these things, but trusts Leola's scoring, and immediately claps her hands together again in applause for the victor. "Well done, Dame Esoka - and such a vigorous effort as well, Lord Artorius."
"Guess we'll have to haul you over a shoulder, Arty. Second. Tch." Fiora's eyes gleam as she shoves off the table to beeline to Artorius' side. Her fist aims to hit solid muscle at his shoulder. "Not a single scratch. Could not be more pleased."
With the mention of the soiree and but a half of tea gone, Sabella suddenly rakes a hand through her tresses on one side. "Oh, I'd nearly forgotten I was to pick something up for a friend." She sets her cup down and rises, her other hand brushing over her dress before she dips to all in turn. "It's been a pleasure," she chimes softly to all. Her voice trailing off as Saedrus speaks, her attention turning towards him as he speaks. Her hands clap together towards those on the hunt before she turns to depart.
Artorius would bow softly to Esoka when she is proven to be the victor. "Well done. I cannot wait until next time." he smiles, returning the knights salute to the dame. THough his attention is swiftly stolen by Fiora "yes..I have failed this time." and Fiora would realize that he was tough as rock. didn't even back up. "Thank you." he gives her a little big brotherly pat on her upper back.
Back to list
Esoka
I did not get to witness as much of the rest of the competition as I would have liked, but my heart sings to hear Princess Tikva and First Officer Calaudrin Estardes did so very well. Tikva's skill as a scout and tracker for Riven remains legend among Heron Hall's troops, and Calaudrin's displays of competence are always pleasing to me.
It was a fine way to welcome spring, to get some food for the people of Arx, and to remember the strength of the land and Petrichor. Honors to Dame Leola and Whisper Saedrus for organizing it all.

I was pleased to lose to Dame Esoka - if I must lose, then she is a woman I enjoy yielding to. And the cause of our hunt was good, with practical asides. I am grateful that many mouths will be fed over the coming days.
For my first official hunt for the lodge, placing in the semi-finals isn't too bad.
