Gwenna

It is hard to put to paper what an extraordinary time I had at the garden party and tea event. While I sometimes consider myself vaguely eloquent and with an abundance of words to use, most of them almost fail me now. I will try to capture what, truly, will be treasured memories.

I laughed like I haven't for a very long time. It felt really good. I spent time with some of my dearest friends (Princess Cassima, Lady Fianna to name just two) and family (my brother Artur, my cousin Princess Elgana), as well as made the acquaintances of some truly wonderful new people in Princes Gareth and Barric Grayson, and Princess Sabella. With the potential for new friend I have yet to be introduced to by Sir Jordan Ober.

Plans for monthly social gatherings have also been hatched, which I am greatly looking forward to. I may have a new future sparing partner and I was nearly not-really murdered. What would a true Redrain party be if there were not some sort of sharp object involved? A corgi in a sweater arrived just as I was departing. Truly.

Redrain tea parties are the best tea parties! Not that I am biased by any means. I can hardly wait for the next one. Mistress Valery, Lady Fianna, and Duchess Ann truly outdid themselves and deserve great praise for the event.

Swiftwing, a sharp eyed, red-tailed hawk arrives, following Artur.

A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Isabeau before departing.

Princess Sally Acorn, an acorn toting red squirrel arrives, following Kenna.

It's still spring, and the garden is full of flowers! Valery is busy making sure everything is ready for the event, bringing the tea and smoothing the blankets on the grass to sit on them. She nods, politely, to those who arrive. "Good day. Welcome."

Fianna shrugs and grins, swiping a shirt sleeve across her face to wipe away the perspiration and managing to dirty herself up fruther with a smear of dirt streaking across her forehead now. "I don't believe in letting anyone else do anything I'm not willing to do myself. Stormwall is a working duchy and working with the people was one of my greatest pleasures. Right behind my animals."

Fianna and Ardoin are standing near a tea cart that Valery has just wheeled out to the garden, a last bit of setup before the start of the event. Fianna pauses in her conversation to smile at Valery, "Is there anything else I can fetch for you or are you okay for the moment? Remember, just order me about as needed, I don't mind! Its all for good fun and good cause."

Glancing over at Isabeau, Ardoin starts to chuckle. "I see. I did not notice you enter with my scribbling on a piece of paper. Good day to you, Princess Isabeau." Nodding at Fianna, "That makes perfect sense, Lady Fianna. I am glad to see that you are so diligent in the restoration of your home."

Miella, a dark-haired shop apprentice arrives, delivering a message to Ardoin before departing.

Avary wanders into the garden, her eyes shifting around to take in the colors. A slight smile graces her delicate features as she kneels in front of some flowers, sniffing gently, before she brushes her blonde hair from her face. She stands to her full height and glances at the gathered group, moving closer to offer her greetings. "Good afternoon all, this is beautiful. My compliments to whomever tends the flowers here."

Princess Isabeau Valardin arrives in the Redrain gardens almost precisely in the same moment that Prince Ardoin sends off a messenger to find her. Easiest delivery ever, apparently. She wears a mildly amused expression once said message is delivered and then begins to make her way over to where her cousin happens to be. "Good day to you, too, Prince Ardoin. What a pleasure finding you here." She leans in a little closer and asks in a false whisper, "Have you gotten a sneak peek at the offerings?"

Wandering into the gardens with that easy confidence so typical of him, Artur pauses near the gateway to cast a look about the place, a grin soon springing up as he lifts a hand to push fingers through darkly blond hair. It has to be said that tea parties are not necessarily Artur's usual scene, the young prince being something of a hellion at the best if times, though he's turned up mostly on time and looks sober and clean, which is an excellent start, really! Having looked the garden over, he moves on inside, giving the hostess Valery a smile and a little wave as and when he spots her.

3 Armed Confessors, Confessor Dunn, 1 Grayson Guardsmen arrive, following Gareth.

Graham enters into the gardens traveling by himself today for the moment. He looks about at those gathered nodding in greetings to them while stepping further into the gardens. The young Stonewood looks about the setup and moving over towards the host. "Miss Valery, it is nice to see you again, you have done well in tending the gardens."

Valery blushes at Avary and murmurs. "That would be me... and the children." She looks at Fianna, as considering her words, but she shakes her head. "We just need the water..." The apothecary sneaks quickly inside the house and back with a pot of warm water. She adds some tea and she lets it rest as she prepares a few cups. A glance around before she murmurs, to the crowd. "I... welcome to the Garden... I... I'm making the new tea. The idea was from Lady Fianna. And part of the silver of its sells are going to reconstruct Stonewall..."

Kenna slips into the garden with a smile hanging upon her lips. She doesn't thrust herself right into things right away but instead slips around the edges waiting for the hosts to be free before engaging herself fully.

"Well, at least I didn't have to make the poor messenger have to dash very far. I suppose she can enjoy a cup of tea in leisure with a job well-done." As Isabeau approaches, his smile is easy and friendly towards his cousin. "Hm, well, I got some tea made for my upcoming expedition so as to not get seasick. Hopefully. But other than that, I've seen nothing...yet. Valery is being quite covert about what will be out besides the tea..." Ardoin murmurs under his breath with a suspicious gaze towards the tea cart.

Gwenna enters the gardens looking cheerful enough. Certainly no stranger to the famed Redrain Gardens so wonderfully tended to by Mistress Valery, she gives a dip of her head or wiggle of fingers as she catches sight of familiar and even new faces. The smell of roses and gardenias are likely welcome ones and the princess seems intent of finding a seat at the benches by the willow tree. It would be hard for her, of course, to miss seeing her brother, and the smile on her lips broadens. "I did not expect to see you here, Artur, though am quite glad to see you."

Clucking her tongue as Valery goes to get the water herself, she grins and teases her, "Mistress Valery, you're supposed to let me do all the running around! You just concentrate on enjoying yourself." Fianna chuckles and shakes her head before looking back to Ardoin with a grin, "Thank you! I feel like I don't get to do enough to help, really. But I'm trying!" When she's named as one of the culprits for the new tea, she grins broadly and waves to everyone, "Hello! These are some seasonal blends from back home in Stormwall! I hope you all like them as much as we do!"

Valery nods politely again to those who arrive. To Artur, and Graham, and Gwenna and the others. Her blush just grows. "And... well, there is also whiskey and some Crovane whiskey Lady Ann gave me... And cookies from Mistress Lottie's place. Feel free to pick them."

2 Redrain novice guards, Simon, the Fawn Mastiff Puppy arrive, following Elgana.

Avary dips her head respectfully at Valery, bowing briefly in her direction. "You do wonderful work, I will go quite broke purchasing the wares you have available here." She glances at the others and lets a smile touch her lips for a moment. "I will not monopolize your time, Lady Apothecary, but it was wonderful to speak to you." With that she moves to look at the things available at the shop and touch some of the flowers, leaning down to sniff at them.

Talyan, a frazzled apprentice arrives, following Saya.

It's a beautiful spring day.

And so obviously everyone is dressed in their spring best and positively revitalized by the energy of the turning season. It's a beautiful sight to see! And then Gareth arrives.

Walnut cane clacking against the ground as the red hooded Inquisitor arrives at his slow, hobbling pace. Flanked by several armed confessors who fan out as he walks into the gathering. His sharp yet deadened gaze sweeps about the place before the scarred Prince makes his way towards the willow tree.

Gareth has joined the a wooden bench beneath the willow tree.

Valery bites her lower lip and nods to Avary. "Well... I also have perfumes. Not many, right now, in the stall... But if you ever want, I can show you the samples."

Seeing Avary stepping aside from Valery Kenna steps forward towards the Archlector. "Archlector Avary," Kenna inerjects quietly, "How are you?" Genuinely inquiring after her health.

Upon spotting Gwenna, Artur leans in to whisper something to his sister, before pulling her into a quick hug.

Talyan, a frazzled apprentice have been dismissed.

Giving Avary a respectful bow of the head, Ardoin murmurs, "Archlector, a pleasure to see you here. Her teas are quite wonderful, just as a matter of advice." Smiling at Fianna, the Prince gives her a look of approval. "Good. I am attempting to help rebuild it in any way I can. I have a rather large project that should be on its way to help replace the library, and another one with plenty of lumber and coffee to assist with rebuilding in general." Peri entering the gardens finds the Valardin knight giving her a warm grin, "Good day, Lady Peri. A pleasure to see you. We ought to talk again soon, at your leisure."

Graham considers looking over the items which are offered out. He will smile to Valery as she speaks "It is a good and noble cause you have setup all the same. Are their prices for the items listed?" He wonders though looking back at others who arrive nodding in greeting before turning back.

Avary nods at Valery. "I would like that. I'll come back and talk to you when things settle down." She turns to smile at Kenna. "It's good to see you again, Lady Whitehawk, how are your studies?" She reaches out, gently touching her arm for a brief moment before she turns to listen to Ardoin. "Ah, I am quite the fan of tea. So I will be purchasing many things from here, I am quite certain."

Gwenna nearly stops dead in her tracks. "Mistress Lottie's cookies?" It seems the princess is rather familiar with the delicacies mentioned. Enthusiastic about their existence even. Exchanging a few quiet words with her brother, which only seem to brighten her grin further. She finally does take that seat at the benches, giving a respectful nod to Gareth who seems to have had the same idea as she.

Gwenna has joined the a wooden bench beneath the willow tree.

Derovai strolls in, clad in leathers. Unlike last night, where he showed up in silks, he's back to his usual serviceable dark garb again. He hovers at the fringes of the crowd for a moment before cutting his way through. "Try the chocolate cologne," he calls over his shoulder to Avary. "It's what she made me buy." He grins at Valery as he approaches, adding, "And don't worry, I promise not to punch anyone today." There's the slightest trace of disappointment in his words, but it's fake. Probably.

Speaking of perfumes, Isabeau picks up a pink-hued bottle and removes the stopper to sample the scent within. She breathes deeply and then offers the same to Ardoin, asking, "What do you think of this?" Its top notes hint at jasmine while the heart note is likely rose blended with a bass note of sandalwood. Decidedly feminine, but still complex.

Elgana strolls into the gardens quietly, still trailed by two Redraid guards wearing thin blue ribbons on their armor and a rather excited puppy who is at least on a leash and behaving for the most part despite the tail wagging frantically, pausing here and there to admire certain flower beds before making her way slowly toward where others are gathered, her dark gaze moving from face to face until she spotted Valery and wandered over toward her. She waited for a moment to ensure she was not interrupting any ongoing conversation before she offers the woman a smile and a nod. "Everything looks so beautiful," she says to her. "And quite the turnout, too. I just wanted to say hello before you got too busy. You do lovely work." A polite little nod given before Elgana turned her gaze back to the others gathered for just a moment.

And now that her part in the greeting of folks has concluded, Fianna looks around for familiar faces in the crowd. Gwenna gets a bright smile and a big wave before she's looking back to Ardoin with a grin. "Oh, thank you, Prince Ardoin! I'm actually working currently on getting some more of Crovane's fighting forces built back up. The Northalnds are a dangerous place under the best of circumstances, and we're going to have everything from groups of visiting nobility to shamans to workers tramping through there near constantly. They need protection, and its Crovane's duty to provide it. If you know of any landless knights or even just men good with a club or sword, please send them our way!"

And then there's Gwenna and Artur! "Princess Gwenna, Prince Artur, a pleasure to see you both in more than passing, I hope you're both well. This is quite the gathering, I am an enthusiast of Valery's teas." When Isabeau decides to try out the perfume and gain Ardoin's opinion, the Valardin knight takes a deep inhalation with a look of approval. "I rather like it, cousin. I think it suits you quite well. Quite a number of interesting teas and scents...I am tempted to see if that scar lotion helps much at all."

Peri is dressed in layered woven skirts that fall down just above her calves, a colorful cyan cloth pattern accenting the humble grasses and linens of her county. She's also wearing some more sophisticated sandles, straps weaving this way and that. If it weren't for the delicate touches, she'd look like she was going to the beach with that hair. When she spots Prince Ardoin, she offers him a warm smile in return. "Good day to you too, Prince Ardoin. Indeed, though I see we are both busy at this moment. Well maybe you. I just arrived." Her eyes drift to the others around her, seeing if she knows anyone else there.

Valery keeps that blush. It seems red is her color today. She nods to Graham as she murmurs. "I have a few labels in the stall, yes... The perfumes with a simple bottle have all the same prize. If you want a fancier bottle, they are more expensive..." Another nod to Gwenna. "Feel free to pick some..." She fills some cups and she starts offering the tea around. A cup for Fianna, another for Gwenna, bring more cups for Isabeau, Gareth and Elgana and, well, all around.

"I've learned many... interesting things talking to the right people. I'm grateful for your recommendation." There's a wry twist of Kenna's tone when she mentions that, though a smile continues to linger on her lips. Keeping it all the vague. Glancing about she sees Graham and stands on her toes for a second to wave to the more recent acquaintance. "I'm going to go say hello to our hosts." Kenna drifts away till her gaze catches on Peri. "Lady Peri!" She gets an audible alo from the younger Whitehawk.

Artur grins after Gwenna as she moves off to join the group beneath the Willow Tree, before casting another look around the gardens himself. Deciding that the things on sale are pretty interesting, he starts to make his way over in that direction, poking at a few of the bottles and turning them over in his hands. It's actually just then that he hears Ardoin calling out to him and, glancing over his shoulder, Artur flashes the other prince a bright smile, taking a step or two in his direction. "Good to see you Ardoin!" Artur grins, with a lift of his chin. "I mainly come by to hang out with Chip and Boots. I don't drink a lot of...well, I mostly just drink whiskey" he confesses with a laugh and a helpless lifting of a shoulder.

"Chocolate cologne. That is a rather inventive way to use that scent." Avary responds, her eyes following Derovai for a brief moment. She turns back to Kenna and she listens briefly, nodding ot the young woman before she movs to step away. The Archlector takes a breath and glances around, looking for a place to sit and settle so that she can people watch.

spying Fianna's wave, Gwenna lifts her hand and cheerfully offers one in return. "This is lovely. You, Mistress Valery, and Duchess Ann have done an amazing job," is called over kindly. That said, she glances over those gather around the shop, lips crinkling in what appears to be thought. "I truly could use a new perfume." The musing is left at just that, the Valardan prince's words tug her attention. "Prince Adoin, indeed it is quite a pleasure. It is lovely that you came to support the cause." To Valery, next, her head bobs. "I will, Mistress Valery, thank you so kindly." Taking the offered cup of tea, she then turns to speak a bit more quietly at the bench.

Avary has joined the a wooden bench beneath the willow tree.

Valery gets a sky blue and gold leaf tea set from a lovely walnut tea cart.

Kenna gets a box of Lotties Assorted Cookies from a lovely walnut tea cart.

Kenna puts a box of Lotties Assorted Cookies in a lovely walnut tea cart.

As he's a sucker for charitable events, Jordan arrives, even in armor, to partake in this whole tea thing. Sure, there might be whiskey, but he doesn't seem as though that's a necessity for his kind of party. He does help himself to a cookie, though, spotting Avary and approaching her with a smile. "Archlector, good to see you. I hope you're in good spirits?" He wonders, casting a glance around. "I don't many of those here, save for..." He bows towards Elgana, with a bright smile.

Fianna accepts her cup of tea with a bright smiel for Valery then moves carefully over to join her favorite of people, Gwenna! That Gareth happens to be there as well is merely happy coincidence! She settles herself in at the benches beneath the willow tree and smiles brightly all around, "Hello everyone! Thank you for coming and supporting Mistress Valery. She really is the loveliest of people."

Fianna has joined the a wooden bench beneath the willow tree.

Nodding at Fianna in return, "I certainly do. I was having some of our retired veterans come out to assist with training new recruits, I am certain they can scare up some support for you while they are at it." Smiling at Elgana, "Princess Elgana! A pleasure, it's been a number of days, and that's rather unfortunate. I see your poor guards are still handling it well!" A grin is given to Peri, shaking his head. "I am never too busy not to talk to you. When you get settled with introductions and such, feel free to come talk to me." Spotting Derovai in the crowd, he gives him a nod of his head in greeting. "Master Derovai, a good day to you."

Isabeau gets herbed virgin olive oil with a plate of toast and cheese cubes from a lovely walnut tea cart.

Ardoin has joined the a walnut wooden swing with a steel chain.

5 Thrax Guards, Bastian, the Reformed Rogue arrive, following Cassima.

Elgana accepts a cup of tea with a smile from Valery, "Thank you. It is lovely," she murmurs as she takes a little sniff of the tea, bobbing her head and then Elgana is wandering off at a slow pace, eyes still moving about. Gwenna and Artur both get a bright smile from the princess as she spots them and makes to follow toward the willow tree after them. Though there is a pause in her steps then as Jordan approaches and she smiles at the man. "I did not see you at the ball last night," she teases Jordan with a smile. "But I didn't see a great many so perhaps I missed you. I am quite..." and here she pauses but then nods and continues. "I am as well as can be expected. And you?"

Prince Valardin elects to sit on a swing, of all places, idly swinging back and forth with a grin.

Isabeau puts herbed virgin olive oil with a plate of toast and cheese cubes in a lovely walnut tea cart.

Valery has joined the a nice patch of grass, perfect for a picnic.

Elgana's attention span is awful today so poor Jordan gets to see her head whip about as Ardoin calls out to her, giving the prince a wave. "A pleasure to see you as always, highness." She smiles and adds, "They are either resigned to the torment by now or devising ways to toss me from the ramparts." A tease as she turns back to Jordan.

Graham looks towards the items and nods to Valery he catches the glance from Kenna offering a warm smile to her and a wave in return though he'll wait until she's closer by. "Hello, again m'lady it is good to see you." He greets once she approaches the hosts where he already nearby. He considers a few moments "Hm would you like to have something from the cart here? My treat and a good cause?" He asks her.

Avary nods to Jordan. "I am well, thank you Sir Ober." She says, folding her hands in her lap. "You ought to go and introduce yourself to people, this kind of setting is the best way to meet new people. Just say hello." She turns to the people seated with her, and quietly speaks up.

Derovai takes a cup when it's passed around, balancing it in a gloved hand. He grins at Avary. "It's spicy, or so I was told. Haven't used it yet. When I'm wearing it, you'll have to tell me what you think." He takes a judicious sip of the tea, scanning the crowd. When Ardoin uses his name, he nods towards him. "We should continue our conversation at some point, Your Highness. Is there a date set?" And he strolls towards the swing, although he doesn't sit there himself.

Jordan gets Cinnamon Roll Sugar Cookie from a lovely walnut tea cart.

Derovai has joined the a walnut wooden swing with a steel chain.

Cassima Thrax, wearing red in a bold, unusual move, has arrived! She's a bit late, or perhaps she's just stylishly late. But she enters, pausing to take a look around those gathered for the event to see who she might recognize. Her eyes settle upon Gwenna Redrain almost instantly. It is with a smile that almost seems to have a touch of relief mixed in it that Cassima makes her way over in that direction.

"I willll-" But Peri spies the treehouse, instantly distracted from Prince Ardoin when Lady Kenna calls her name. She waves to Lady Kenna, points to Kenna, then the swing, even if her eyes slip up to the treehouse. "Prince Ardoin, I will find you," she offers him before she makes her circuitous way to what she thinks is now the agreed upon meeting spot with the Whitehawk.

Peri has joined the a walnut wooden swing with a steel chain.

Isabeau has joined the a nice patch of grass, perfect for a picnic.

While she is speaking along with those at the benches she shares, Gwenna could hardly /not/ espy her dear friend Princess Cassima. The Redrain lifts a hand to offer both a wave as well as a motion to come join.

"I did see you, but you were at the gazebo and I was in the corner where most of the commoners were relegated to," Jordan quips to Elgana with a lopsided smile, winking at her. "I'm glad you're well. I am fine, though I am waiting for the upcoming duel with some apprehension." He doesn't seem all that worried, though, taking it easy, apparently. "And, as always, glad to see you about, Your Highness." His smile brightens a moment, though he inclines his head to Avary's statement and recommendation, which prompts a chuckle. "Fair enough." So, he offers his arm to the Redrain Princess. "So, who is who in this party?" He asks, his tone lower.

A man wanders into the Redrain Gardens, alone, tall of stature and broad of chest, but well-groomed and mostly well-dressed. There is a heart-faced barn owl on his arm for all of a moment, before he sends the creature up into the skies with a murmur of, "Go enjoy yourself." upon realizing he's managed to meander into the place where the event is taking place. The sight of so many people all together and in one place does cause him to pause, and he steels himself, pulling a small comb from a pocket and going over his hair just one more time, before he approaches more closely. It's the tea cart that grabs his attention most immediately, and so that's where Adriel Glynn heads, spying no familiar face upon which to attach an introduction to.

Kenna watches Peri, points in the direction of the swing, and points at the swing. A nod? Yes! Agreed upon places. Going gets pauses when Graham comes closer, and Kenna beams at the man. "I would love that, why don't you come join me over by the swing? We really didn't get a chance to speak at the Rite of Gloria last night."

Kenna has joined the a walnut wooden swing with a steel chain.

Graham has joined the a walnut wooden swing with a steel chain.

After making a pair of small purchase, Princess Isabeau slips over to a find herself a nice patch of grass to occupy rather than taking a seat on the swing or any of the available benches. It was springtime, after all, and the Redrain gardens made for manicured lawns that were meant to be enjoyed.

Changing course and making a beeline for Elgana when he spots her, Artur will attempt to approach from an unseen angle and jab her in the ribs with a finger. "Elle!" he grins at the princess, before looking to Jordan, who she's talking to and offering a slight lift of his chin along with an easy grin. "Jordan" he greets then, before looking aside at Elgana and explaining "He nearly broke my arm the other day. You ought to be on the lookout for him!"

Another cup is offered to those that arrive later. To Cassima and Jordan and Adriel and the others. And when everybody (that wanted it) has a cup, Valery sits on the blanket on the floor. She looks around and reminds, a soft murmur. "I... this is the Crovane edition tea. To gather funds to reconstruct Stonewall. There is also Crovane whiskey in the cart. And cookies. Feel free to get them."

A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Gareth before departing.

As Jordan offers his arm Elgana gives another bob of her head and accepts it gently, tea cup held aloft in her other hand. "Shall we find a nice spot to mingle and perhaps I can point them out for you?" She would let Jordan led the way, but it seems Elgana has other things in mind as she glances back at her guards and says to them, "Take Simon and play. No sudden death for me here." And then with a grin playing on her lips the princess leads Jordan off toward the willow tree, only to be intercepted by Artur. "Twice in one week!" she laughs as she moves then to give Artur a light hug, careful of tea cup and letting go of Jordan's arm so she can in fact hug. "Are you trying to spoil me now?" The comment about Jordan gets a laugh as she looks between them both, eyes narrowing playfully. "Is that so? Should I have need to be careful of you, Jordan?"

The young Stonewood, nods to his new aquaintance and smiles "I'd be glad to, and just let me know which items you would like." Graham gives a bow of his head to Valery and moves over to join the small group upon the swing. "Very true, well and I did rather show up towards the end I think."

Once arriving with Gwenna, Cassima clasps the girl's hands in her own, quite lovingly, and places a fond kiss on the Redrain's cheek. "Oh my dear, it makes my heart sore to see you." She moves to sit, but not before taking another look around the room. Her eyes fall on Isabeau, and Cassima nods respectfully in the woman's direction. Then she sits, just in time to receive some tea!

Cassima has joined the a wooden bench beneath the willow tree.

Peri is not shy about gliding herself into the swing as if some part of her mind is begging for the movement. Once settled, even with the others, she pushes the soles of her sandals into the ground to give an encouraging, yet testing push. "Forgive me, but is there anything to trade or is this more of a way to get them started again?" She spots Kenna and pats the spot next her. "Is Princess Sally Acorn about? Did the pouch make it back to you?"

Letting out a long sigh, Gwenna's head bobs at Cassima's words as the other princess takes a seat. "It feels like a lifetime, doesn't it? Since we were not so taken with duties and more, but freer to meet for a drink. I'm so glad you could attend, truly. It's like a bit of weight off my shoulders."

"Prince Artur," Jordan grins at the Redrain man, inclining his head. "I am still sorry for the mishap on the other day, by the way. Nobody should have to witness that." His lips curve slightly towards Elgana, though, as he offers a shrug. Who knows. "Only on the weekends, Your Highness. I am told I am mostly safe the other days. Mostly." He goes on to note, though he mentions to Artur, "It was a very good and closely fought sparring match, Your Highness. I appreciated it very much. And I've been training more, anyways. Much needed exercise." The knight chuckles as he glances over to the willow tree Elgana was leading them towards, thoughtfully.

Isabeau briefly meets Cassima's gaze before averting her eyes elsewhere, pretending to take an interest in what conversation might be taking place closest to her in the moment.

Adriel dips his head into a polite nod when Valary offers a cup to him, his pale green eyes wandering down to the contents. "Thank you." he says, sincerely and with a smile, before lifting it to have a sample of the tea that's there. He doesn't immediately remark upon it, but there is a guarded look of approval that does blossom across his serious features. He seems to focus quite engagingly on the experience of the tea. So engagingly that for a moment, it's like he's not even there anymore. And the whirl of the coming and going people combines with the various talk all around him, and he spins, slowly, as if searching for an anchor amidst it all.

Oh, the tea is a relaxing one. Camomille and spearmint sweetened with dry fig.

Elgana has joined the a wooden bench beneath the willow tree.

Jordan has joined the a wooden bench beneath the willow tree.

"Forgotten" Artur reassures, reaching over to attempt to clap Jordan on the shoulder once he's done with hugging Elgana. The prince laughs a little as Jordan reassures the princess of his safety, his eyes lighting up with a sudden mischievous energy as he glances from her and then back to Jordan. "But that's exactly when she's most to be feared!" he assures. "In fact, any time before about noon she's absolutely terrifying!" he explains with a boyish smile between the two, before taking a half step back. "Though...with that I suppose I should leave you be before she throws something at me" he laughs, jerking a thumb in the direction of his cousin.

"Oh, my apologies, Derovai. I do not know the gentleman, but the beautiful woman with the fascinating hair is Lady Peri Seliki. Quite the fascinating person, shares the same love for adventure as I do," Ardoin explains, making a gesture from Peri to Derovai."

There is a mock look of shock on Elgana's face at Artur's words, but then she laughs and rolls her eyes at her cousin. "You are terrible. One of these days someone is going to believe these things about me." A fond smile then curves her lips as she regards Artur a moment longer. "I'm simply glad you stopped hiding from me. It is so good to see you and Gwenna both." She gestures for Artur to come along just as Jordan starts to lead the way toward the willow and Gwenna. "Coming or going to go mingle in fear she may throw something after hearing you tease me so?" Elgana's nose crinkles lightly before she looks toward the tree and those gathered. moving to join then. "Ah, I love my family so very very much."

"Really? That's good to know," Jordan grins playfully at Artur, inclining his head to the man before he spends a long while studying Elgana, appraising her. "I think I'll take my chances." He goes on to conclude, slipping his arm around hers again as the Prince decides to part ways. The knight chuckles, offering him a salute with his spare hand, "Nice seeing you again, Highness. Stay out of trouble." And having said that, the path is lead towards the wooden bench beneath the willow tree, a murmur offered to the Redrain Princess.

Jordan looks over to Isabeau sitting by her lonesome and... considers something, before beckoning her over in invitation. Followed by a bow. He's rubbing shoulders with royalty, it's the only way to be sure.

Blitz, Brigid the Barred Owl arrive, following Sigurd.

Adriel wanders, with his cup of tea, his steps always measured, his pale green gaze always calculatingly brief should it land on someone, and he never really seems to stay in one spot for too long. It's almost like he's exploring the gardens, more than the people who have been invited into them. Still, on the occasion that his explorations do bring him near a group of people, he lingers, a little cant to his head, just the gentlest one, listening. Occasionally, his attentions wanders upward whenever his owl passes over again, and the sight of that really does bring a very, very small smile to his lips. It's still a polite smile, even when it's about his own machinations.

Elizabetta, a disapproving lady-in-waiting, Valor, a small brown and white corgi puppy, Lily, a lithe young woman arrive, following Sabella.

Barric arrives, (un)fashionably late and raking his hands through damp hair like he might have had to take some time to clean up before arriving and is attempting to be presentable. Once at the gardens though he slows from his brisk walk to something more measured and appropriate. Looking around he smiles and nods to people he knows and goes to mingle.

Avary stands from her seat at the bench, leaning in to bow briefly at Fianna. "I will go forth now and meet some other new folks, it was a pleasure to talk to all of you, even if it was only briefly." She walks towards the grass, settling down near Valery and Isabeau. "May I join you both?" She asks, nodding respectfully at the pair.

Avary has left the a wooden bench beneath the willow tree.

Avary has joined the a nice patch of grass, perfect for a picnic.

Valery stands when she sees more people arrive. She goes to the cart to prepare more cups of tea. "Wellcome... I have the new tea and there is whiskey and cookies too, if you want..."

Fashionably late is a thing that happens even at laid back garden parties, right? Sabella sure hopes so as she comes walking in, smiling brightly to those she knows and those she doesn't, "Good afternoon everyone! Whoever picked today for this party must have had the gift of delightful weather forcasting since it is such a beautiful, perfect day for an outdoor party!"

Sigurd saunters in with the latest grope and stares at the Tea as if it personally offended him. "Not a way to wake up.." A step or two before he spots the whiskey, so he'll pour himself a splash of tea and fills the rest with the wonders of Whiskey. A loud shout from him then. "BROGAN!?" No response, because of course. His uncle isn't here. A quick smile towards Valery before he wanders off to victimize some people with his presence.

A Mirror Masked Woman arrives, delivering a message to Gareth before departing.

Isabeau does not appear to be the sort of princess inclined to oblige a stranger's summons, polite though it may be. She does, however, look to be the sort of princess who is polite about it in that she lifts her teacup in a wordless toast toward Jordan and then looks to the empty space near her on the grass. It's probably an invitation.

Miella, a dark-haired shop apprentice arrives, delivering a message to Ardoin before departing.

A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Ardoin before departing.

Barric looks over at Sabella and smiles when she arrives. "Cousin, you have arrived just in time to rescue me from myself." He offers blithely and offers Sabella his arm, "Would you allow me to escort you to... wherever it is that you wish to go socialize first? I'm afraid there are so many new faces and names for me to learn here that I am unsure where to go first."

Gwenna lifts a hand to cheerfully offer a greeting as Sabella and Barric arrive, the Redrain seated along the benches under the willow tree with several others. Sigurd, as well, gets a wave once he too is espied.

Stepping away from Elgana and Jordan with a lingering smile that speaks of all kinds of mischief, Artur takes a look around the garden, warm brown gaze moving from person to person until it eventually settles on Valery, who is busily serving people treats from her cart. Making his way in that direction with a wave to the little apothecary, he offers both Barric and Sabella smile of recognition as he passes.

A Mirror Masked Woman arrives, delivering a message to Gareth before departing.

Sigurd has joined the a walnut wooden swing with a steel chain.

Valery nods politely to Artur, a soft smile on her lips. "Hi..." She leaves the teapot again on the cart and she smiles lightly at Sigurd as he comes for the whiskey.

Sabella smiles at Barric and accepts the arm, "Of course. I actually think I know all most everyone here. Well, let's see. Have you had a chat with Prince Gareth recently? I'm relatively sure I heard that you already know my friend Prince Ardoin over there. But there appear to be Graysons all over, is there anyone you had a particular fancy to meet?"

Jordan looks over to Isabeau, flashing her a smile. He speaks with the gathering at the willow tree, something more serious to Gareth which he bows his head towards the Inquisitor Prince afterwards, and then something else to the others. Elgana is offered a murmur before the departs from the group, towards the Valardin princess.

A quick peck to the cheek from Sigurd to lil Valery before he meanders away so she can greet the rest of her ensuing people. "My little darling. You throw a nice party." Then he leaves to mingle. And gaze around looking for Brogan. A wave towards Gwenna and her table before stopping to stand in front of this wooden swing. "Hello batch of people I don't know yet. I'm Lord Sigurd Nightgold, General of its armies."

"Oh yes," Barric answers Sabella, "Prince Gareth and I have been in communication recently, which I am very thankful for." He offers a polite nod of his head to Valery and then a deeper bow to Gwenna when waves and such are directed his way. "Honestly it appears that everywhere has people I should be meeting. We shall have to make the rounds and you can introduce me to everyone. Just to be safe." He smiles at Sabella and looks around.

Gruffudd, a large Maine Coon cat arrives, following Ysbail.

Derovai has left the a walnut wooden swing with a steel chain.

Derovai slips away from the swingset, looking around for a moment before he spots the person for whom he was searching a moment ago. He makes tracks towards Adriel. "Ah, Master Glynn. Fancy seeing you here." He nods Adriel towards the space beneath the treehouse, although he doesn't do such a foolhardy thing as try to climb up with a cup of tea in hand. "Humor me," he remarks.

Derovai has joined the a comfortable wooden treehouse.

Barric has joined the a wooden bench beneath the willow tree.

Ysbail wanders along the garden path and finds herself surrounded by tea drinkers. "Oh my," she murmurs with a laugh. Cobalt blue eyes scan the faces before spotting some familiar, and she heads towards the swings.

Adriel has joined the a comfortable wooden treehouse.

Ysbail has joined the a walnut wooden swing with a steel chain.

Jordan has left the a wooden bench beneath the willow tree.

Jordan has joined the a nice patch of grass, perfect for a picnic.

"My apologies for not introducing myself earlier, Lady Whitehawk. Prince Ardoin Valardin...there's so many people and so much chatter that I find myself a bit distracted," Ardoin admits to Kenna with an abashed look, although his eyes wander to the squirrel with a look of amusement. When Ysbail joins, the Shaman is given a wide smile. "Hello Lady Ysbail, a pleasure to see you."

Jordan smiles again at Elgana as he parts ways with her, joining Isabeau and Avary at the patch of grass, and it turns out. He settles down at the spot Isabeau had pointed out before, speaking quietly to her.

"Let us start with Prince Gareth's group. He's always so happy to see me." Sabella says with a sunny smile cast towards the willow tree group.

Sabella has joined the a wooden bench beneath the willow tree.

There. A familiar voice. It wasn't that he hadn't noticed Derovai, so much as Adriel Glynn is a man who is most comfortable on the edge of someone's vision. He turns, when he's addressed, and offers the man a polite smile, "Ah. Master Voss. I take it you are a fan of tea, as well as autopsies. A man of varied interests." He joins the conversation easily enough, despite his unwillingness to start one himself. "I've never been known for my humour, but perhaps you will make for some good practice." he confesses, wandering closer over to the treehouse, his own cup of tea in his hand.

Arriving a bit late Arion enters the garden with a gentle spring to his step. In his arms he carries a small basket of colorful bottles, perfumes by the looks of them. A soft smile is given to those present as he steps further into the garden taking in a slow breath of fresh air and glancing about curiously. He continues to look about, trying to spy a familiar face in the crowds.

Valery places a hand on that cheek, turning even red-er. She looks at Artur and nods, answering quietly. She prepares another cup of tea for Ysbail, but she murmurs to her. "There is whiskey and cookies too."

Ysbail accepts the tea from Valery with a bright smile. "Thank you, Valery. I may sneak a nip or two later, but this will do wonderously for now."

A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Ardoin before departing.

Gareth has rolled a critical success!
Gareth checked composure at difficulty 15, rolling 37 higher.

Receiving and reading a message, eyes scanning the parchment for a moment, Ardoin tucks it away. "My apologies, I must be going. I will talk to you later, I am sure."

Ardoin has left the a walnut wooden swing with a steel chain.

Miella, a dark-haired shop apprentice arrives, delivering a message to Cassima before departing.

Avary Ashford sits on the soft patch of grass, quietly conversing with Jordan and Isabeau, her focus really on her tea. She looks around the garden, making note of the different people present, a slightly curious look on her face. Something said near her makes her turn her head back towards Isabeau.

A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Peri before departing.

Ven makes his way in, hangs up his cloak and surveys the festivities for friendly faces.

Saya slips in quietly; dressed in a silk dress with her hair tamed for once. She flits to the corner of the garden, as iff attempting to go unseen. But she isn't very sneaky.

A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Ysbail before departing.

A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Ysbail before departing.

Valery rushes to stand to prepare some tea for Ven too. "Welcome." She murmurs, as she offers him a cup of the Crovane tea. "We also have cookies and whiskey..." It's a relaxing blend, camomille, mint and dry fig. She leaves her empty cup on the cart and moves back to her spot on the grass.

Ven smiles at Valery. "Hello, and thank you! Black or green?"

Valery shakes her head and murmurs, softly. "No tea-tea in this... just herbs... Lady Fianna chose the ingredients."

"Ah, interesting!" He says, taking a cup and blowing on it to help it cool. "How's the party been?"

Saya has joined the a nice patch of grass, perfect for a picnic.

Valery looks around at all that people! "A lot of people came, it's nice..."

Derovai and Adriel are having a quiet conversation below the treehouse, Derovai inspecting one of his leather gloves as he talks to Adriel, both of the men speaking quietly. Having finished his tea, Derovai has set down the empty teacup by his feet, and so far he hasn't kicked it over. Adriel's still nursing his own tea.

Sabella has left the a wooden bench beneath the willow tree.

"Master Ven!" Sabella calls out with a bright smile, waving towards him as she heads his way, "I have been looking for you!"

"Oh, I'm happy to be found. Let's sit, what can I help you with?" Ven says, turning to Sabella on hearing his name.

Ysbail shifts a bit where she sits on the ground, bare feet poking out from under her silk dress. She smirks at something said by the swing and quips back before sipping at her tea.

Ven has joined the a sky blue hammock stretched between two trees.

Barric stands from the bench under the willow, smiling and chatting affably with the others there before he bows to all present and begins to head away with an: "I am looking forwards to it, Princess Cassima." Then he begins to maneuver his way to another cluster of individuals, heading to the wooden swing and offering a bow, "Lady Ysbail, it is a pleasure to see you again." He looks towards the others who are with her and offers a polite bow, "Prince Barric Grayson, may I join you all?" He gestures with one hand to the swing.

Barric has left the a wooden bench beneath the willow tree.

Ysbail looks up at Barric when he approaches and her dusky face beams. "Good to see you as well, Prince. Pull up some lawn." And she pats the ground beside her.

Saya has left the a nice patch of grass, perfect for a picnic.

Talyan, a frazzled apprentice leaves, following Saya.

Barric has joined the a walnut wooden swing with a steel chain.

And suddenly a child comes from behind the house, a red-haired child around his teens. He has been on the ground for sure. There are some mud and dirt on his clothes. And his trousers are a bit torn on the knees. Oh, those scraped knees. He comes to Valery with a pained face. He's not crying! Not at all! He may be doing a big effort to not to, though, and he comes to complain to the apothecary, showing his hurt knees but trying to stay strong. He's not gonna cry in front of so many people!
Valery sighs and stands up, holding Leo's arm so he would follow. She looks around and when finds Fianna, she asks her. "Would you pick up the cups and bring the cart back to the house when everybody leave, please? If I'm not back before, that's it..." And, then, quickly, to the rest of the group. "You are more than welcome to stay as long as you want, though, or to come to visit another day... I usually have tea. And cookies." Leo smiles a bit, a naughty smile despite of his eyes full of so-well-restrained-tears and his pain of face. Valery corrects herself. "Most of the time, at least, if they didn't eat them first..."

Isabeau has left the a nice patch of grass, perfect for a picnic.

Isabeau stands up from her little patch of perfect grass, bids farewell to her companions there, and moves to make her departure from the gardens. What a lovely little party!

Jordal, a bodyguard leaves, following Isabeau.

Sabella has joined the a sky blue hammock stretched between two trees.

Valery has left the a nice patch of grass, perfect for a picnic.

Chip, a small mouse, Boots leave, following Valery.

Avary gets to her feet, dusting the grass from her clothes. She gives one last glance around the garden and says a quiet word of farewell to Jordan before she departs.

Avary has left the a nice patch of grass, perfect for a picnic.

Jordal, a bodyguard arrives, following Isabeau.

Jordan nods to Avary, sitting alone at the picnic field for a moment, finishing his tea.

Fianna looks up at Valery with a bright smile and eager nod, happy to help. "Of course! I'll be happy to."

Peri has left the a walnut wooden swing with a steel chain.

Jordal, a bodyguard leaves, following Isabeau.

Jordan has left the a nice patch of grass, perfect for a picnic.

Jordan has joined the a wooden bench beneath the willow tree.

Ysbail looks up and over, spotting Fianna. "Fianna!" she calls, waving merrily but making no move to head in that direction.

Kenna has left the a walnut wooden swing with a steel chain.

Princess Sally Acorn, an acorn toting red squirrel leaves, following Kenna.

Derovai laughs lightly at something Adriel says. He reaches down for the teacup by his feet -- still safe! -- and extends a hand to take Adriel's, saying something quietly to him. It has the tone of an offer, brows raised at the other man.

Adriel Glynn appears all-too-happy to hand his emptied teacup off to Derovai, and he exchanges words with the man in return, there beneath the treehouse, just a bit out of the way. There is no laughter from him, but he does smile - yet even his smile is something carefully measured. You can't have too much of it, now. A dip of his head, polite, calculated, before he's turning to meander through the Redrain Gardens, exit-ward.

Derovai smiles briskly at Adriel, nodding once as the other man turns for the exit. "Indeed," he remarks quietly to the other man, before stepping aside from the tree where the treehouse perches. Two teacups in hand, he moves to set them wherever's been set up to collect the cups, with a glance shot towards Fianna. "Over here?" he wonders, setting the cups and saucers down with a little clink.

Derovai has left the a comfortable wooden treehouse.

Looking up from her excited chatter, Fianna smiles broadly at Derovai and nods, "Yes please! On the tea cart, thank you!"

Gareth checked composure at difficulty 15, rolling 8 lower.

Adriel has left the a comfortable wooden treehouse.

Graham moves over towards another who was helping to run the event. This being Fianna the young Stonewood will smile and give a nod in greeting. "I think the party has gone very well." He says though he will speak further but in softly spoken words and reaching to his side and offering the contents over afterwards.

Derovai sets the pair of cups down, before he glances back towards the groupings at the party, offering Fianna a quick grin before he, too, strolls to that bench beneath the willow tree. "Mind more company?" he wonders, heedless of whether they do or don't.

Derovai has joined the a wooden bench beneath the willow tree.

Leaning in slightly, Fianna accepts the offering, and offers Graham a dazzling smile, "Thank you so much! And thank you for coming today, I hope you've enjoyed the new teas and company!"

Ven has left the a sky blue hammock stretched between two trees.

Sabella has left the a sky blue hammock stretched between two trees.

Elizabetta, a disapproving lady-in-waiting, Valor, a small brown and white corgi puppy, Lily, a lithe young woman leave, following Sabella.

Sabella leaves, following Ven.

Graham nods at the response from his donation. "I enjoyed both very much, thank you for your help with putting this together." He will say truthfuly and give a proper bow "I hope the rest of the event continues to go so well, I should be going for now. He offers before he will await a response before making his way out of the garden.

Fianna stands briefly, long enough to bow towards Graham and offer, "Thank you. I hope the rest of your day goes as well as this event!" Smiling brightly at him once more, she drops back down onto the bench.

Fianna checked dexterity + athletics at difficulty 10, rolling 46 higher.

6 Thrax Guards, Stumphrey, a toast-colored corgi with big ears and a floofy butt, Humphrey, a humorless brute with a ribbon in his hair arrive, following Caith.

Gareth checked dexterity + medium wpn at difficulty 15, rolling 2 higher.

Jordan checked dexterity + athletics at difficulty 15, rolling 47 higher.

Barric smiles at Sigurd and Ysbail, but then receives a messenger and frowns a touch. After that momentary frown though he smiles again, "I agree Lord Nightgold, there are many whom should be and are not, and some who are who should not be." He then looks towards Ysbail, "I am truly interested in learning more but I have some business I unfortunately /must/ attend to Lady Ysbail." He says apologetically, and he looks it too, "I will have to try and capture some of your time to discuss it further." He then stands up from where he was sitting on the grass next to Ysbail and brushes himself off before he makes his way out.

Gareth Grayson can be seen briefly drawing what looks to be a slender blade, holding it up in the sky before sheathing it once more without falling down or cutting anyone up. Everyone is very impressed.

Barric has left the a walnut wooden swing with a steel chain.

Fianna is overheard praising Gareth for: His sword-handling technique is simply amazing!

Is she late? Yes. She's hella late. Like, it's beyond fashionable. Caith comes running, her skirts held in her hands to facilitate this, but she tooootally stops just as she arrives and smoothly walks the last few steps. Who was running? not her. Nope. I mean, totally ignore the fact that she is huffing and puffing and just a little bit sweaty.

And she's not alone! She has a whole parade with her! There are Thrax guards -- six of them -- a humorless brute and a corgi wearing a sweater. They weren't running either, nope. Well, the corgi was. And still is. He's all excited and bouncing around like a huge, fluffy potato with stubby legs.

Sigurd is overheard praising Ysbail for: For succinct explanation of Redrain and Shav relations

Graham has left the a walnut wooden swing with a steel chain.

"STUMPHREY!" Fianna is entirely too happy to see Princess Caith's corgi bounding into sight. She is, of course, sitting with a number of other people at the willow tree. BUt that doesn't stop her from flinging her arms wide open to let the stubby little guy run over for cuddles!

At the shout of Stumphrey, Cassima starts, almost spilling her tea. She looks over to see Fianna going in for the hug, and she just sighs. "Why is it wearing clothes?" she asks of her sister, who she does not see yet, but who she knows is behind her. Likewise, Caith can likely just tell that question is directed at her. Like a sisterly sixth sense.

OMG IT IS FIANNA!! Stumphrey acts like he hasn't seen the woman in weeks -- nay, months, nay, YEARS -- and goes koo-koo-bananas. He spins around in a few quick circle of JOY and then goes bounding over to the Crovane lady, launching himself into the air. I BELIEVE I CAN FLY! I BELIEVE I CAN TOUCH THE SKY! Boom! Corgislam. The dog is making those happy whining noises as he wiggles all over Fianna's feet -- just all he did was bounce against her shin and then fall onto his back.

Caith, though, she just wanders in all smooth as can be and slides in alongside her sister. "Lady Ianna gave him that sweater," she answers after smooching Sibling McGrumppants on the cheek. "It's adorable!"

Ysbail pushes off the grass, dusting herself off before ploping onto the swing proper to chat with Sigurd. She tilts her head, however, at the sight of a corgi wearing a sweater.

"But it already has fur, and it has no sense of nudity. A sweater doesn't make sense." Grumpy continues to grump, even as she accepts the kiss on the cheek. She offers over her teacup to her sister. "Here, have some tea, I'll order another round. "You look quite lovely today. Did you make it to the Pravus Ball last night? How was Juliana? I just wasn't up for it, I'm afraid." At the request to join the walk, Cassima looks up to Gareth and Elgana on his arm. She offers a soft smile. "Oh, no thank you. You two go on ahead."

Gwenna has left the a wooden bench beneath the willow tree.

Jordan smiles to Gwenna as she departs, offering a bow her way.

Elgana has left the a wooden bench beneath the willow tree.

Caith just looks at her sister. Just /looks/ at her. "But it's /adorable/," she repeats, like that explains everything and is all the answer she needs. I mean, really Cassima. Corgis and tiny little sweaters are a match made in .. Caith's mind. The younger sister accepts the teacup and takes a sip. "Mmmn, very good."

And then there is Gareth.

She notices him right about the same time Cassima is asking about the Pravus ball and Caith just sort of freezes, mid-sip. Well, no, not mid-sip but the teacup is halfway to her mouth and stays there. She looks at Gareth. She looks at her sister. She looks at Gareth again. Looks back at Cassima.

"It was fine."

No, that wasn't suspect at all.

Cassima checked perception at difficulty 10, rolling 8 higher.

Elgana tugs gently on Gareth's arm as she leads him off then from the willow tree. "It's been a while since I last took a walk here," she comments as they start off, heading down one of the various paths leading toward the greenhouse but at a pace that may take them forever to get there as she isn't in any great hurry. She doesn't glance to see if they do get followed or not, simply strolling.

Cassima smiles in the face of Gareth's dryness. "But then I might sober up, Your Highness, and we can't have that." As those that wish to attend the flowers start to walk off, Cassima turns back to Caith. Caith and her sketchy answers. A single brow arches as the blonde blubbers through her story about the previous evening. My, but this does sound interesting. She glances at Gareth, then back to Caith. "Caiiiiiiiiith?" Cassima asks slowly, and quite suspiciously.

Gareth has left the a wooden bench beneath the willow tree.

Caith has joined the a wooden bench beneath the willow tree.

A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Fianna before departing.

3 Armed Confessors, Confessor Dunn, 1 Grayson Guardsmen leave, following Gareth.

2 Redrain novice guards, Simon, the Fawn Mastiff Puppy, Gareth leave, following Elgana.

Derovai murmurs some quiet words to the space by the willow tree, moving for the exit without much delay.
