Relationship Note on Swift

I did not know Swift Grayhope very well, and that is a regret that will follow me to my grave.

I spoke to her on a few occasions - she was vivacious, self-confident, and beautiful. She showed off an impressive tattoo which she got while drunk. She went on adventures.

We spent time together on the journey to Sungreet. We spent time together aboard the Eurusi ship. When the assassins struck, Swift moved as you'd expect from her name.

She paid for that.

They call us heroes for the work we did, for Lady Monique turning the Crown Prince and the work the rest of us - including Swift - did to convince and shift the crew before Crown Prince Damik'uhl'daja declared his defection.

I am thankful for that. But Sungreet brought us so, so many heroes.

And Swift Grayhope, though she's an example to us all, is just one of many, many dead after that battle.

I'll be lighting candles. In the Shrine of the Queen and Mother, that she may welcome them to her bosom, and send them along.
In the shrine of Gloria, in thanks for letting courage and honour be with our troops on the day, and hope for it every day since. In memory of the Swift action that saved the Crown Prince's life.

And then I expect, I will walk as my feet lead me, to each of the other shrines - to light candles there, and pray for the virtues of the gods that instill us, and the principles that we fight for.

Thank you Swift Grayhope.

May you rejoin us in due time.

I've only just heard. You just had to die doing something brave and stupid, didn't you? Asshole.

Queen keep you, see you in the next turn, cousin.

I would like to thank House Crovane and Lady Clara for hosting the Unicorn Masquerade. While it is not my usual type of outing to attend, I thought it would be a nice change of pace. Plus, wearing a mask I could just... relax. I can't say I went all out, but, it did also give me a reason to wear the unicorn gown my beloved Perce bought for me so long ago. I had fun!

Relationship Note on Costas

I found one of your old shirts, tonight. And from it a parchment bound pack of your old cigarillos. Stale and gross, I shall keep them near to my heart always. How I miss you.

I find myself staring at cut and uncut gems and wondering not about the blades I could set them in, but the jeweler they could glitter in.

This whole Trade situation is just one giant knot of misery all around. I thought I would take pride in doing what I could to help, but at this point I just wish it were over.

Thrond and I have decided to get married. We have been together for some time. Though, when he went away, it was so sad for me. However, he came back! It seems our flame is kindled and we have decided to become a legitimate couple. Now, it is just figuring out what we should do to initiate this wedding to happen! I need to find a shaman. I also need to figure out what we should wear. I might even splurge and buy silk!

I am very proud to be working with Baron Norwood on his project to equip his armies with fashionable and practical Crownlander ironwool. Soon Duskshire will have the most fabulous army in the Compact, if not all the world!

I'm happy to announce that this season's free summer plays in Nightingale Park for the children of the Lowers is cast and ready to be performed! I cannot wait to see who we can inspire this year and look forward to all the future mummers and bards and playwrights to get their first real taste of the theater!

And the food and drinks that will be provided of course!

If anyone would like to be involved there is scant time left to do so!

Relationship Note on Cristoph

The Laurent dinner garden party was very enjoyable, getting to spend time with family and friends a welcomed blessing from all the other things going on. I'm very thankful to have this chance, and for Cristoph putting it all together. In addition, I wish to say how wonderful my nephew has been, and so supportive of all of his family, and our endeavors.

My Hart's roof garden and terrace has truly grown and had come into its own this spring.

I adore to spend time up above it all. The views of the city and sea, especially at night when it feels like I am flying above inky black velvet kissed by glowing jewels of light. It makes me feel closer to the heavens. Especially with the right company.

I love this city. This realm. And those who call it home. Gods above and below, how lucky I am to know so many people in this world that bring a smile to my lips and a skip of delight to my heart. And, how lucky I am there are so many more to get to know.

I'm not sure how I'll ever be able to decide which of them to spoil the most. There's so many now, and they're all cute as can be. I suppose the fairest thing would be to spoil them all equally.

So something really neat happened this week. I met a guy in the great archives. Well, ok I didn't meet him for the first time in the great archives. I met him at the Ambassador salon and then asked if I could accompany him when he visited the great archives. He's new in town and and a layer and he likes research so well the archives was a natural suggestion, especially when I asked him what his vocation was and he said serch for truth. That actually came out of a mouth other than mine. So anyway we just walked around and talked and it was really nice. i can't wait to see him again

The summer growing season draws nearer. The young horses grow stronger by the day. I do my part for them by focusing my attention on our infrastructure. It is a slow and deliberate process that does not bear fruit for a long time. Mending roads and bridges is not romantic work, but it is essential to the proper functioning of the county. The farms must have tools in good order if they are to feed us, and the roads must be clear if the bounty is to make it safely to market. More now is set aside for the needy than before, which is all the more reason for us to keep pushing the plow. If we are to rebuild the Compact, we must leave no one behind. All of us together, or none of us at all.

Relationship Note on Piccola

I had the great pleasure of meeting the lovely Lady Piccola at my last Sip n'Spar and have since exchanged missives with her. She has some excellent ideas for helping to raise more funds to help others. I approve, appreciate and adore this so very much.

It is often hard for me to get to know every as much as I wish to, especially when I am hosting an event as raucous and busy as one of our tournaments. But for some reason the lady stood out from the crowd.

Perhaps it was her pensive pacing that caught eye and caused me to worry for her, but at the end of it all, she seemed to find her own graceful footing. I can understand feeling nervous though. But what I liked is that she didn't let it stop her.

She seems a bright and kind soul with a clever mind and a charitable heart. From our few encounters thus fair, I think I like her very much. I hope we become good friends.
