Relationship Note on Ford
Marquis Ford Kennex's arm did not set alight and burn off when my bandages and salve were applied. I suppose my years spent secluded were worth it after all.
Though it'd be morbidly funny to imagine Ford as one armed. Does that make me a bad person? He's just so easy to pick on even if I find myself growing fond of his quips.
Secretly, I'm excited to see him healed up. Fighting lessons from that man will be interesting to be certain.
If I die during them, I will give all my incense sticks to my uncle, Dominic. He needs them more than I do.

Relationship Note on Shadow
I had not expected to receive such kindness from such a large and intimidating man. Nor did I think that such lovely crafts could come from someone whose hands looked so rough.
It's easy to become lost in the noble way of seeing things. I'm ashamed for judging him, for forgetting that people are more than the sum of their looks and social standing.
Shadow didn't judge me. He was kind and accepted my offer of help without trying to take advantage of me.
It's funny how I look forward to running errands for an injured commoner more than I do spending time with my fellows.

Golden Hart tournaments have a nice atmosphere.
Not enough restriction for the contestants, though. Allowing a bench to the head? That's asking for serious damage, even first week Crimson Blade initiates know that.
Could be the Prince felt it was a lesson?

So I opened my eyes to three kids staring down at me. Right fun that was, turns out they're Iron Guard trainees. My own little wetwork team.

I've a collection of students now! Trainees from the Iron Guard, orphans of the conflicts. Camping them out in the living room for the time being, hoping Leta doesn't pop her skull when she sees them following me around -everywhere-.

Prince Aiden threw a very entertaining contest. I fear I may have been the most boring contestant! But I enjoyed myself thoroughly.
Ended up with a tiebreaker and Dame Serafine and I had to square off for the prize. I am not used to fighting 'Lycene-style' and dueling without armor. I like the familiarity of hearing myself clunk when I move around.
But I thought I'd give it a shot. My moose-style swordsmanship seems to have carried the day once again, regardless!

One one hand, I feel bad about missing Archduke Niccolo and Princess Deva's wedding.
On the other, I already had one set of stitches in my side from a Bringer claw, I really didn't need a second.

I can just see it Babs, Brand is standing outside the walls with his spyglass, looking in on us bumbling about and apparently trying to start a war among ourselves, he looks back to his men and shouts, "Pack it in boys! They're doing the work for us!" All the mind controlled shavs cheer and shout, because he made them or something. I see Brand as the type to be his own biggest fan.
