It's funny. The things one finds about themselves when motivated to do so. I'm still a lazy bastard most of the time admittedly, but between training the mirrorguard, becoming a master at arms of the Champions Guild, and just my own teaching schedule of various sorts trying to become better for the war and siege, I've discovered I'm actually a rather phenomenal blade and footwork instructor when I want to be. Gods know I should be making this a black entry or people will like actually expect me to _work_ now and then, but the fact I actually enjoy doing it makes it just a tiny bit less like work. Who knew.

I find myself a poor devotee of the Pantheon some days. Too long spent striving to fulfill the ideals of the Sentinel and Gloria leaves me an unforgiving person in other matters, perhaps. In penitence and in admiration for my cousin the Mother of Mercy for Arx I will give more of what I have, to help provide the refugees with healing. And I will spend time in prayer to Lagoma, in the hopes that her grace will soothe the troubled souls of Avrum of which I am only one of many.

So, a few days ago, I attended a fundraiser. Originally, I went to survey things, to see how the Silks were treating things of importance; and of small animals, of course. It, in a way, translates into how they treat the small folk. I gave fifty writs, thinking that perhaps it was a good cause. And it is! It truly is. But then somehow I won three of the five gift baskets. I didn't realize I'm so lucky. I shouldn't push it, but maybe I should?

I confess that I was both amused and startled to learn that I had apparently served as a role model for someone who is herself now old enough not merely to attend court but to have become a Voice for her House. But so I am assured by Arianna, who, it seems, has acquired or inherited something of my own branch of the Pravus's fascination for matters obscure and scholarly. She's a Stonewood by name and upbringing, but is flatteringly keen to connect with her mother's side of the family.
