However, it was equally good to be back. I didn't know how much I missed Mason until I saw him in the library. He seemed troubled about something, and I admit I felt a bit guilty about leaving him behind. Perhaps next time I shall endeavor to take him along with me; I think he deserves a vacation as much as anyone else. He works so very hard.
He invited me to a see a collection of paintings for an art show that he is organizing. He was very quick to assure me that I didn't have to attend the art show itself, if I didn't want to. This is why I love him so very much. He gets me in ways that others do not, and knows I'd be miserable at such an event. Still, I want to support him, so I will endeavor to muster up what strength I can and attend this event. Sometimes, city life is a wilderness all unto its own. I can do this, I know I can. For him.

...an easy concept and yet one so difficult to grasp in practice.

Also. I was called a sandwich. That is an interesting notion.

I'm pleased with the results, however, with a newly stocked shop and new designs. Very satisfying.
Scholar, I think that entry sounded a little too much like cannibalism.
Ah, damn. Leave it as is.

Ever since I met Malik, one of our newer Crafters (and an amazing painter, for certain), I was reminded in one of his language lessons of a cuff I saw on the Lady Aislin. Wide, intricate, beautiful, I've made a few cuffs of my own inspired by it. The ones I've made are gold, with cooler-colored gems. The granulation isn't right but I can't hope to duplicate such intricate craftsmanship.
I'm going to put up my poor excuse of an attempt up for sale soon. Malik's lessons on Eurusi have also given me the option of engraving in said language as well, but I've no idea what to write!

Death seems like a reasonable god, as far as gods go. Certainly, she makes more sense. She's familiar. I could see myself going to her shrine again some day, just to see what people say about it.
Maybe.

That reminds me, I need to harass my lawyer cousin to join our team. We have room for a fifth! And it involves writing things down, probably neatly. She'd be perfect.

I know from experience Princess Reese is a really tough out, so now I know I don't want to have to slug it out with High Lord Victus without a real good reason. Although I think I kinda knew that already anyway.

Please specify whether you wish to speak to me as a Harlequin of Death or the Duchess of Gemecitta. I think if I get my roles confused, it might get very weird.
Note: Please be kind to your friendly neighbourhood spiders.

Once, you know, I find her. I mean, she's big for a spider but the Shrine isn't exactly tiny, either! I tend to assume nobody is really reading my journals but just in case, if you're by the shrine and you spot a spiderweb with a prismatic jumping spider in it, if you can send me a messenger with their approximate location in the shrine that would be very much appreciated.
Please note that the scholars may take some time preparing your journal for others to read.
