The Lord Commander of the Iron Guard held a lovely yard sale, distributing various bits of old clutter. There was a great rush as people dug through a chest full of knicknacks (that was uncomfortably stuffed with animal plushies), and I came away with an odd skeleton figure. Perhaps Duchess Dafne would like it, if she does not have one already? But I was also able to get a nice chest with a flower pattern to store some of my accumulating clutter, and the whole thing was for a good cause, so well done, in the end!

Arx has been pretty quiet lately. Honestly, I found more work during the Siege than after. I never expected the lawyering life to be glamorous, but I'm starting to miss the excitement of the Silent invasion. A scrivener's life isn't usually the stuff of legends, after all.

I HAVE A DESK! A good one, anyway. And a nice bar set, from Silas himself! I'm so so happy! ...Probably shouldn't have spun Aiden around, though. Oh well.

Picked up some things. I'm satisfied with what I managed to find for the most part. Now I can complete the set that I've been working on.

High Lord Victus made a good showing against Princess Reese. Every time I see him fight, he gets stronger.

I think if I've learned one thing in Arx, it's that there are far too many discussions on the topic of beds.

I saw my first duel today.
I'm told having Champions fight duels is quite common amongst other Oathlands ladies, but I was never your typical Oathlands lady I suppose.
It was a touch strange at first, seeing two warriors raise live steel to one another outside of mortal combat.
I suppose if I look at it as an issue in the pack, it seems more familiar. Two hounds settling a matter of dominance through a fight. Though even then, they rarely fight to draw blood, so as to not make the pack weak.
In the end, they both put for a good showing to Gloria, and for their Houses.

To see our High Lord fight with vigor fills my spirit.
Well Fought Princess. I admired your strength and determination.

The duel between Victus and Reese was quite a sight to behold, and totally worth watching.
Along similar lines, I think I might start charity betting on these sorts of non-honor duels more often. Whoever loses the bet pays to the winner's choice of charity. It worked well this time.

Amusing to read all of the grumbling about weddings while I'm working with my brother on negotiating them. I suppose I have no grounds to lecture others on not getting married, but I have my reasons, and Kennex has no shortage of young unmarried men and women.

I have decided double efforts in the next month in achieving my goals. I have also made the promise to myself to spend what little time I do have to myself in the company of the people that come to enjoy the city. What is a life if there is not just a bit of joy in it? I might even attend some of these parties and gatherings that seem to be happening in the city.

She can take a hit and dish it out with the best. Princess warriors aren't something I've seen a lot of, but if they were all like her we'd be getting shit done left and right.

It has been a wonderful week. Many things reveal themselves over time and I am not worth even half of them. Yet I could not be happier to have discovered it all and with the best company, there ever was.

I have just recently returned from looking over the pedigrees of far too many dogs from Oakhaven. Each of them was special and wonderful in their own way. How could I select two? Not only that, how was I supposed to select two that would make for strong offspring and lead our Keaton line of hounds forward? It struck me then of the irony. I was putting everything that I had in making certain that I had the perfect pair for our flagship Arx pair. Would they like one another? Would they produce solid offspring? Would they be in demand? I can only imagine the difficulty that my Aunt Margerie had in selecting my bride. I must write her immediately and thank her for her choice.

Well, he beat me once before in duel and now he's beaten my wife, though it was a wonderfully close match and I'd love to see them spar to the bitter end to see if she could outlast the ferocity of that axe of his. Well done Vic.

The shrine of the Queen of Endings was not unlike what I expected. Funny how I almost feel comfortable there where I don't at most. Then again, she's a goddess with a sense of humor. I just hope that sense of humor doesn't inflict me with curse to speak in nothing but puns for the rest of my days for mistake of initially turning down the red wine I didn't know was sacred to her.
