As prodigal, I have not always felt most welcomed by Compact.
Some people good and friendly. Much curious.
Some people curious for reasons I do not agree with.
This though... this decision you have made to separate us and make us different? That is the opposite of bringing us together. That is saying: You are not worthy of us.
I am glad to be a Prodigal.
I am glad to be of Southlands now with friends and loved ones.
I am not glad I will never be a Scholar, or a Mercy. That my knowledge is somehow not good, my healing is somehow not good, because I also believe in the sun coming up. The seasons changing. Fire being hot.
All of these things are as true as the Spirits are.
As true as the Gods.
Willful ignorance is tool of greatest enemies.

So.
Is almost cold.
Sun still comes up here. Which makes it warmer than winter is supposed to be.
I am told I should get some winter clothes but why? Spring be here soon.

She'll hate reading this, but if someone asked me to point out one of the most inspiring and truly exceptional people in all of Arx, Dame Allenatore would be one of my immediate choices. Integrity, humility, intelligence, bravery and optimism are all facets that make up this rather remarkable knight, and her devotion to Petrichor and His domain is to be admired. Keeping busy has allowed time to fly by and I cannot wait until it is this time next week! I attended a very interesting tea party--Velenosans always seem to put their own spin on things and this was no different! It was quite lovely and I'm pretty sure I still might be drunk from that special tea! It was quite fun seeing a very different group of people come together and enjoy themselves, even if the last secret of the night ended up being that you should probably not sit on any of the furniture there ever. Ever. EVER!
Went to a fun duel that ended in a snowball fight where my beloved valiantly sacrificed his face to keep me safe from an onslaught! Don't worry, he's fine! But it was very heroic of him!
Last night was the reception for Alessandro and Margret, two people that my heart soared for when the engagement was announced and for whom it just about bursts every time I see them together. Their wedding was a beautiful, private affair and the reception was amazingly lovely! There was mullled wine, beautiful decorations and wonderful company! I wish we could have stayed longer, but it was so nice to see Lord Alessandro and Lady Margret so happy together amongst their friends and family. And the king! Who I keep running into. I do hope his guards recovered well after watching him ice skate.
Which, if anyone is ever challenged to an ice skating competition, I HIGHLY recommend Bliss Whisper stand as your champion. Basically in all things!
Time is not going fast enough!

I swear, if Merril drags me out of one more thing this week, I might lock her in the Tower.
I know she means well, and she's right, there's a lot of work to be done, but I miss the days where I had the time to go to Darts'n'Drinking or the Sip'n'Spar. While I'm all for staying sober when I'm on duty, there has been a horrific spate of it in my off hours.

I have often had people ask how I've done all that I've done. The answer, honestly, is a simple one. You jump in feet-first. Death is another part of life, as every sellsword knows. If you bite it, maybe you come around again, even better. If not, you get famous. Fear is for other people. Regret is for other people. Simply do as you wish, and be really good at handling consequences. It's not hard.

Gentle Readers,
The reception for Alessandro and Margret in honor of their wedding was absolutely lovely! I cannot express just how wonderful a job that Margret did in decorating the gardens to turn it into a winder wonderland. Seeing my cousins so happy made my heart lift with joy as well. We are blessed to have Alessandro join the Greenmarch family.
Seeing our allies from House Redrain and House Velenosa also made me quite happy. I very much look forward to having them visit us at Greenmarch Lodge as often as possible. And, of course, the King's attendance was such a wonderful honor to my cousins and to our house!
And I deeply enjoyed the time spent with Duke Vercyn this evening. His presence is, as always, comforting and gracious. I have always held the deepest respect for him and this night simply confirmed it.
All in all, it was truly a magical evening.

The wedding celebration of Lord Alessandro and Lady Margret Greenmarch was every bit as wonderful as I knew it would be. The care they put into the festivities was evident, and their love warmed everyone this winter's eve.
The skating rink was a particular success. If you've never seen Bliss Whisper ice skate? You really ought to.
All in all, it was a wonderful way to honor the love of two very deserving people and welcome Alessandro to the family officially.

I'm very excited about the progress we're making in planning for the rebuilding of the County of Darkwater. It's a massive undertaking, and yet, it seems that we will make what was almost leveled into a beautiful home for many people. All of the thralls who work on the rebuilding of infrastructure will be paid a fair wage, enough to free them, and they'll be encouraged to settle there. We'll be working on the lighthouse and the keep. We'll be making the port into a real destination.
Not only will people want to visit Darkwater for the shrine, but it will be an important stop for the military and an essential trading port. We have plans, and we have people eager to execute those plans.
