Promoted to Admiral of the Iron Navy. The flagship is ready to be put towards the first launch it has seen in a while to test it. I am hoping it will provide a lot for the Crown and Compact.

I am still encountering bits of amusing chatter regarding the posterior perspective portrait left in the Highlord of Sanctum's hallway. The most amusing for me, by far, is the suggestion of sending drawings and/or paintings to ones Patron as a sign or respect. That one had me giggling, I admit. I wonder if anyone will actually go forward with it.
It has been a strange week. Both seeming to drag by and vanish in a blink. Things happening left and right yet I feel like in a calm before a storm. And then of course there is the random bouts of nausea. I share the Princess Sabella's discomfort in that regard. Though most times I can keep my food down, the constant sickness is no fun. Thankfully I have discovered candied ginger and peppermint sweets. That and Sergeant Soren's morning and night tea seems to be helping. Or maybe it is clearing up. Either way, it has been a strange week. And things will probably just keep getting stranger.
Tomorrow is the Polar Plunge for Mangata. There will be hot coffee, warmed towels, good company, and prizes for those who can stay in the longest. Sharing ones warmth to bring warm tides and fair winds. I'm looking forward to it. Even if it is just a few people, it will be a good time.

His Grace is a novel man that clearly cares about his people. He is generous in his investments within us in both terms of the faith he places within us and where he puts his coin. He has graciously shared his table with me, lent me his ears, and aided me in protecting myself and others through the hospitable assistance in procuring a diamondplate weapon. I am honestly confused as to why Shard had to explain why I am what I am. I enjoy -everything-. Life is short, it's messy, and our stories are often cut entirely too short. Why wouldn't I enjoy every moment of it?

I have no knowledge of medicine and cannot speak to it. But perfect balance is stasis and an excess of weight or lean, one direction or another, is the key to momentum. Not that I am against balance, if I am not the greatest fan of Victus's suggested amputation, but I think you and I think of different things when we speak of balance. It's been some time! It wouldn't make much sense for him to fight against it, considering that's how we manage to eat (although, these days, Audric himself isn't going to have to worry about having enough silver to eat ever, ever again). And understand when I wrote 'you', it was a general you. The nobility are our biggest customers, even if you don't personally hire sellswords. We're the convenient muscle, particularly when someone wants to be able to look cleaner than they are. Most commoners can't afford us.
As for Audric? He doesn't need my defense. I will, however, say this. He enjoys life more than anyone else I've ever met. He's determined to enjoy all of it, because it's damn short and fucking violent. He laughs at death and grins in war. I don't pretend to always understand him, but he's made his decision about how he wants to be when his entire life until recently has been killing for coin.
Make no mistake though. I wouldn't want to be the person who thinks because he laughs and jokes at violence that means they can mess with /anyone/ under his protection. You're disturbed by Audric when he's enjoying himself? I've seen Audric when he's actually angry.
