How good it is to welcome my brother, no longer Brother, but Blessed, Etienne to the Capital as he assumes his duties as the archlector of Gild.

I attended the Whitehawk BBQ today, and got to meet up with many family members that I hadn't seen in years, along with some fresh faces. Silas is going on an expedition; Tabitha was excited to meet me, but the emotional tension between Silas' departure and my arrival almost overwhelmed her; Kenna is taking over for Silas during his absence and was extremely happy to see me. Kenna also told me to write to Prince Aiden and ask for membership to the Society of Explorers, making sure to mention that I'm Silas' cousin. I think it would be a wonderful opportunity!

Relationship Note on Archeron
Since leaving my father's house I've made it my struggle to be more sociable, to not provoke others so often (sorry Veronica), to be less capricious and not spend so much time immersed in my own thoughts. I can't say I've been entirely successful, but I think it's been worth the effort. For good or bad, it's our relationships with other people that determine much of our lot in life. I feel blessed by the ties I have now with family and friends, and am constantly amazed by all the fascinating people I've met in Arx.
So, I think it is worth a try, Lord Archeron. You may find people do and say the most unexpected things which can lift you up when you most need it or inspire you to do what you wouldn't have even imagined otherwise. Though they are often unreliable, full of secrets that imperil themselves and others, and do have a terrible habit of dying at inopportune times, people have many positive qualities that you'll miss if you never take the opportunity to open yourself to their discovery.
Oh, and I didn't find you scary. I'll also maintain that my small goat is preferable to a badger. You should see her run, it's majestic.

Some people don't like winter. I say some people are fucking loonies. Ain't hardly much better weather to be experiencing than a kind of cold chill. Just makes everything slow itself down, gives you time to enjoy the world as it takes in a deep breath. Snow is fun too. Fun to make into weapons and fun to bury fuckers in.
