I've purchased a very plush bed for Echo. But the truth is, she often sleeps at the foot of the bed now. Unless Nicia makes me send her to the floor. We're also feeding her a tremendous amount of table snacks. The man who keeps our dogs says we're overfeeding her. But I'm really just trying my best to help her adjust!

This green snow is deeply worrisome... I hope to hear more details on it soon. Surely some great alchemists are looking into it.

For those so interested in demonstrating their ability to sway people to their point of view, the Raconteur Cup is still looking for promoters that are willing to champion our riders in the Raconteur Cup Races. If you've a knack for the social charms of life, and want a chance to show off? Do send inquiries to myself and Princess Berenice.

Additionally, if any are interested in having the breweries and carnivals of the Raconteur established in their lands, I am finalizing a round of investment as I write this. In the past, this partnership has created slews of jobs for various holds, along with wares built locally to their lands that the people are proud to have as their own. Send inquiries my way if it is something that catches your interest.

Not every great task can be completed in an instant. Sometimes it takes monumental effort for even the smallest increment of progress, and it can be easy to believe nothing is happening.

I've experienced this in a number of ways lately. I imagine more will come. They're good reminders.

It has certainly been a while since I've seen green tinged snow. And certainly never have seen it fall as such from the sky.

The dog show from House Laurent was, I would say, a great success. Lord Eddard Clement did a fine job of hosting, and I was honored to have selected to be one of the judges. Congratulations to the winners, Stormy handled by Princess Reese Grayson, Elegance handled by Princess Alarissa Thrax in second, and the grand winner, Bayberry, handled by Baron Norwood Clement. I would be remiss to add that there seemed to be a particular crowd favorite of Barf, handled by Lady Amari Keaton.

Those dogs, there's a group of them still out there being tended to. I think I need to do some more looking into them...

Sent those Guardians who were out of doors when this strange snow began to fall to the House physician. Better safe than sorry.

I live in the crown apartments fourth floor number 9. The apartments are a little bit showy. They aren't quite noble apartments but they are nice.

There are times when the wonder of the world strikes me with such awe. Such breath-taking beauty and brilliance and such devastation and ugliness that it stops heart.

But sometimes it is the simple things that touch me most deep and I cannot help but catch my breath at it.

The way the sun kisses the snow just right way and the world explodes into thousands of tiny drifting diamonds. A moment of unexpected kindness that brings great joy to another. A little look or the gentle touch of someone who holds heart. Or the simple knowledge that for some unfathomable reason one is treasured and cared for above all else.

I am grateful for these things. Large and small. Gifts one and all.

I hope to experience so many more before it is my time to leave.

As much as I prefer the warmth of a good fire, I do find myself pleasantly surprised by the interactions I've had of late, getting out and meeting people in the depths of the Arxian winter has proved quite pleasant indeed. Many opportunities are unfolding, and I'd be fool not to take advantage of them.

That said, it's made me realize I do need a good, warm winter coat. And something for my fingers -- I am fond of them, after all, and would prefer not to lose them.

It seems my Cousin is nearly as dangerous with a dagger as she is with her sabre. Again a spar with her leaves us both breathless and barely able to stand.
At least I managed to best her this time.

How many ships should one command before they be granted the rank of Admiral? Should it be a fixed number or a certain portion of a House's naval forces?
Perhaps I am thinking too much on this subject.

Relationship Note on Sorrel

Attended a concert hosted by Princess Sorrel Thrax. Unfortunately I didn't arrive in time for the song, but I was able to at least enjoy the informative aspects of the gathering.

One question in particular caused me to think about some aspects of the world. With all the time in the world, I imagine one would take up a hobby such as doilies and all of that. Makes sense to me.

I gathered that the next concert regarding the Metallics will be about one called Silver. I hope that I won't fuss over what to wear before the next concert so that I can be punctual with my arrival.

The three questions I immediately have for all prospective candidates for the Commoner's Council:

1. Which projects are nearest and dearest to your heart, that you hope to see organized and realized through this board?
2. When you run into intransigent opposition - furious Peers, someone stonewalling you for their own political gain, injustices committed against you - how will you attempt to resolve these matters?
3. What is it about you that should make us select you to represent our concerns over any of the other candidates?

If one door closes another must be opened somewhere. I must redouble my efforts to find a stage to perform on. Cousin Kaia has talked about perhaps holding an event for the house and I'd be glad to help and perhaps get my name out and about more.

I am excited to see what this new transport network can bring - and whether we can connect to the waterways as we hope. There are certainly risks - attacks on the crews or traffic on the route - but you do what you can. If it fails, we try something else. We find another way.

Who operates the Swirl of Silk? Gasp. They have this one item that stands out of black seasilk and gold embroidery that simply is perfect and I wished more stores carried items in those colors.
