I have been waiting before writing here about putting my name in for the Commoner's Council, until candidates were announced. It is an opportunity I have been waiting for ever since the last election, which I did not make it into due to time constraints. The life of a handmaiden can get rather hectic at times, and often, your time is not always your own.
Not that my life isn't any less hectic now that I am Godsworn, and my time still isn't always my own, but I have a little more control over what I do with that time! And I believe helping to bring the voice of the people to those who need to hear it is a worthy use of my time. They call it the 'Commoner's Council', but I know that people who have not been born to wealth and privilege can be anything but common. I have seen it. I hope to be a positive voice for change, should I be selected. Regardless of the outcome, the Council has my support. Always.

Finally started establishing our headquarters, you'd figure with only a couple of us here we would just be able to set up a place that isn't an inn to sleep in. Turns out the answer is no and we should bicker a bit like children. Though, in this case the bickering may be fitting we should be able to live quite comfortably even once we're all here. Now, that long term needs are sorted we can finally move onto thriving.

I've been running around town with Ianthe, keeping her close is not a choice; it's a given. She's small enough I can wrap her up and tuck her against my chest beneath my coat, she stays warm and I can do my various errands. I got to see Hana in what felt like ages, she met little Ianthe and the brat didn't spit up on her (Ianthe, not Hana). Hana has a way of taking my latest worries and sifting through them, finding nuggets of wisdom among the silt and sand that it is my thought process.
My rounds to the various shops and merchants has picked up again, I'm able to run about like I haven't since before my pregnancy. It's wonderful having energy again.

I actually sparred for real against others tonight. I've been focusing more on training than simple for-pleasure bouts.
It probably didn't look like I had done any training, but I lasted for several rounds in an 3 on 1 against Silas - which Silas won, because he is amazing, and again with Carmen pointing arrows at me. I couldn't be happier with my performance. I am getting better, it's just a slow and incremental process.
In other news, Sparte beat Silas. I'm not sure how, and I'm fairly sure that Sparte might be suffering from severe inner bleeding, but he beat Silas. I didn't even think that was possible. It puts Sparte in a whole new light for me. I always knew he was amazing with my weird out of nowhere questions but I had no idea he was that stubborn of a fighter. I'm awed that he could take that much punishment.

The Winter Festival was had and it was so much fun to host and to set up. I wanted to thank everyone who came out and enjoyed the atmosphere. I also wanted to thank everyone who came out and participated in our contests. I enjoyed very much in having the trophies made for each of the contests and I hope to have it done for next year as well.

Hours at the ledgers today sorting through accounts. Three little silvers were misplaced, three! Just three but the ledger would not balance and numbers did not add up and had to double check everything with receipts and bills. Finally the error was tracked down. A smeared, messily written number 5 on one receipt (from where Saik stood rounds at a tavern) looked like the number 8.

My protege made me a lovely painting, made with love, that I took the initiative of hanging in the Murder. It's beautiful. It perfectly sums up so many things. A proud declaration of FEELING. I'm impressed. I thoroughly encourage all endeavors of art but that one left me moved beyond reason.
