I'm starting to wonder if this bunny thing is in itself, one huge joke being played on Arvum by powers greater than us.

Never have I seen so much fighting over those carrot-eating fuckers.

Showmanship, good sir. The trick is to what the appetite, and make them want more.

I will be happy to provide guidance next time, if you like.

I raise my hat to you for such a fine song!

Yes it's a metaphorical hat. I don't have a hat, never felt like wearing one.

I rarely have to invent things for my plays. The nobility makes comically, casually villainous shows of themselves all on their own. The bigger problem is actually how _un_subtle they often are.

Relationship Note on Serafine

There are no more tears left. All that remains in a small, empty part of my heart where your memory now lives. I know you wouldn't want me to spend a moment longer lost in this grief than I must be. You were always telling me to embrace life more fully. To stop thinking and just -be-. But, I must admit, it is has been difficult.

My children have helped pull me free of the shadows in my head. As has Talen. And Ettore, in his way. Sometimes, I fool myself that you are just gone, the way that you were before. I just tell myself you are gone and can get through the day. And then I remember that, this time, you will never come back and all the darkness comes pouring back in.

You will never see another summer. You will never see my children grow up or teach Donato how to properly hold a blade or tell my girls how to do that prank with the honey and the ants. My children will only know you and remember you from the stories that we will tell them of their wild Aunt Serafine. I will never see the way your face lit up when you spoke about Leta again. You will never challenge Talen to another duel as I watch, delighted, that you hold your own against him. You will never attend another family dinner and drive me to frustration as the whole lot of you threaten a food fight. I will never disappoint you again by being logical when you need me to show how I feel.

I am selfish in that I wanted more time with you before you returned to the wheel. You have left and taken a piece of me with you.

Yet, dwelling on this grief is not the Velenosa way.

Everyday, it hurts a little less. Everyday, I am adapting to the idea of a life without you in it.

Training has made great strides lately. I've fought at the Telmar Tower with Lord Ansel, Sword of Telmarch and Lord Corban. Both are very courteous and I'm reminded why the Oathlanders are considered to be exemplary knights. They are humble and unassuming, and they are fierce fighters. Good spars. Thank you, my Lords, for the opportunity.

I write more about the battle at Setarco. First I spoke of songs, this time I will speak of the battle itself some. I will practice a bit of censorship for the sake of readers who do not wish it explicit, however even without going that far into it, I'll write that it was a fierce battle. The dogs, which had once fought and killed other members of the Compact, returned in this battle. It took an entire cavalry charge to destroy one pack, and of what was left of the cavalry with more than half of it taken down or so, I'll speak only that some things even being a veteran of war can't prepare you for.

Duke Cristoph's charge kept us all from becoming playthings to these creatures, and I've heard people term them the 'murderdogs'. I'd like to have a name more historic, one that will show those who faced them were worthy of the deeds on the field, but perhaps the name people have used does do it justice.

You were a wonderful friend, and I wish for nothing more than your turn on the Wheel to be the best. I wish that the tides of war turned a little bit differently, but I understand why you fought. Thank you for being the friend to me that you were.

Relationship Note on Estaban

We never got to talk as much as I would like after a while. I still remember fighting with him along the Gates of Seawatch in Arx, along with Aiden. I am sorry that I could not be part of the battle you were in, but I'll cherish the memory of you.

For the first time since my husband was killed I felt a desire to create a song, or try to. It has been a struggle to try to keep my composure, take care of myself for the sake of the child I bear and try to oversee my house. Sometimes I do this better than other times and hope friends and family will be forgiving and understanding if at times I seem to misunderstand something when my thoughts are distracted or forget something. It is not intentional and I can tell, a little, that I am getting better.

The song is one some comments at a spar inspired. Lady Eirene sparred Sir Jeffeth. Prince Barric, Lord Karadoc, Curran and later Mirari were around. It is not one of my best, but.. it is a step back toward the solace I usually find in music and had been missing.

Rattle Me Bones

What do you do when grief and angers inside
When there's no place to go, nowhere to hide
When rage and tears form a tumultuous mix
Lady Eirene had found somewhat of a fix.

No retreat to home, that's not where she stayed
To the ring did she go with her armor and blade
"Lets spar" She challenged to all who could hear
"I'm not all that great, you've nothin' to fear."

No punching innocent nephews, pillows or walls
That's not the solution for which this calls
Replace one kind of pain with another type
"Come on, spar, atta few wounds I'll not gripe."

Trainin's ta be gained, that's all to the good
Face grief head-on, the way that we should
Blunt its sharp edge in a hard physical fight
Stay strong for duty, that's only what's right

Come rattle me bones, rattle me bones,
With blades or fists give grunts and groans,
Bloody fine mists and sore muscle burns
Grief'll fade a bit with the twists and turns.

Relationship Note on Magpie

It -is- a very unique couch that Master Magpie makes. I catch the servants sitting on it all the time and laughing. Mind you, it's in the servants quarters and not in the rest of the house. Thrax will confess to owning one hundred squirrel couch. In the thralls quarters.

You don't actually know me or the long history I have with Magpie Grayhope. You also clearly don't grasp some of the potential implications of this poor joke for Master Fatchworth and the institution he represents as an officer.

But by all means, continue to speak as if you do.

Just like beauty, humor is in the eye of the beholder. And Master Magpie may not always have politically correct humor but he is a man not to be underestimated or discounted.

Consider your words before attacking another. Discuss your vehement dislike of a prank but avoid insulting a man until you visit his home and break bread with him.

Nope, sometimes jokes aren't funny.

This one was, though.

If I had sold them in my shop as collectables I'm fairly sure people would have bought them.
You should see the squirrel couch I sold.
