Relationship Note on Daemon
With the sudden talk of proteges happening around the city recently, I began to think of my protege (whom I would argue is the best protege). I realized that we have now shared this relationship for more than a year. I hope Sir Daemon forgives me this slip - I really should have done something on the date of the anniversary. That said, I look forward to many more years as his patron.

Yesterday I was stabbed again. I even wore the breastplate I promised the mercies I'd wear on patrol, but they slipped the gap and got me anyway. They got me good too, a well aimed strike. I'm pretty sure they wern't trying to kill me, so bravo on the bladecraft of my assailant. Kindly throw yourself in jail if you read this.
In other news I've decided to put the book on Meditations to rest that I was working on. Thirteen people to contribute to the book was too ambitious a goal. Hardly anyone in Arx seems to care for meditation that I've asked, so I've stopped trying to make that a thing. Pity, but hardly the first time I realized one of my ideas lacked popular appeal. Probably not the last.

I now have a kitten. Or, well, found one at the docks. I am now faced with the most difficult challenge of naming it. It's male. It's got spots and some stripes. It's also got some surprisingly sharp claws.

A very lovely gala held by Princess Valencia! I saw many people I know and met quite a few new ones. It was a wonderful party, and the decor of that hidden garden was incredibly well thought. I should like to visit there again, perhaps privately sometime, and enjoy it during a quiet moment. If there is ever any such thing at the Golden Hart.
