A sea monster was the showcase of the feast. I mean, it was a fish but /what a fish/! I have never seen so many teeth in all my life. I am constantly amazed by the creatures that dwell beneath the waves.

I had the misfortune of returning to Arx before you. Which is abyssmal. The city is small and quiet as a hamlet without you. Duskshire is now the center of the practice of 'miniature trees'. Expect to receive a gift of a shrubbery curated to look like a large wizened tree.

The path ahead and behind both feel so important to me. Where I've been, where I will be. Yet I try not to only see my own path, but the paths of others.
I notice people who fixate on where they're going and have a destination. Yet, beyond that they have no idea what they will do or where they will go.
A path that stops.
Then there are those who are looking backwards so hard that they may as well be walking backwards.
Those who look but never take a step out of fear of it being the wrong path.
I expect, given the nature of the whites, someone to expect some condemnation here. That is usually how these things go, is it not? Someone writes about a point of view that is self-reinforcing, so they have a mighty mountain from which to level vague judgment on others.
All of those paths are human, arn't they? At the end of the day they're all positions any one of us may have been in. Due to different family, different opportunities, a sliver of different fortunes in our lives.
I don't quite know what all of it means. Perhaps I'm not meant to, perhaps no one is. A strange sort of tapestry, the little choices and coincidences that make up our lives. We all see the big ones, or think we do. What weight does a little choice sometimes carry?
As I try to wind this entry and my thoughts to a close, I wonder at what the wind would say if I asked it what it thought of a person's day.

It's been wonderful to have my wife back in Arx once again. Lady Delfina Darkwater is as talented as she is passionate and the pair of us were always stronger together. It's only right to find a smart political match. A duty no noble should ever neglect. Yet there is a certain satisfaction to finding a match one can not just tolerate, but revel in.

There are not many things I understand about the matters at the market, but if you are unable to turn a profit doing work where you are simply serving as a middleman, I have to wonder what is you are doing wrong. It seems simple: increase your cut?

It was suggested to me that I simply get another staff or cane to assist my walking.
This is missing the point as I -like- my old staff and am very comfortable with it. It was perfectly formed for it's purpose.
Perhaps it's disappearance is the start of a plot to leave me defenceless. I shall remsin vigilant!

Diplomacy is not my strong suit, so my wife keeps telling me and she is never wrong. I like sailing, and I have learned a few tricks about staying alive at sea. I didn't come from the salt, but it has adopted me. If you feel like there is a hole in their spirit that cannot be filled, perhaps that is the sea calling to you. This is an open invitation to any who want to learn to sail, or more about the sea. My ship is the Bounty of Cirella. She has a Crownsworn crew. I can not express how lovely I think the continued conversation regarding flowers has been, and how much I have enjoyed hearing and reading of people's decisions for what flower they believe they are. How one small thing could lead to such discussions and debates and interest. Flowers are so much more than pretty, delicate things. They are so much more.

I think I have enough energy to go to the wedding reception this evening. But if this baby doesn't come soon, I may go crazy. Crazier. More crazy? One of those at any rate.
