Relationship Note on Rowan
I'm really not certain how many more there are to meet of the Greenmarch House, but I certainly hope Lord Rowan isn't the last of them. His passion for his beliefs has been not only an interesting study on a personal level, but the information he so willingly shared will, I hope, help us both in the end. Another outstanding member of a House that should make the Telmar's proud.

That should be enough barrels of whiskey to bring to Arx on my return, even when I take into account Sigurd's share. If he has behaved, that is. I should write to Nadia and Signe on the matter. Sometimes I'm apprehensive when I consider in what state the House will be in when I return. But I'm sure they're not up to too much trouble...

Some of the debtors have reimbursed what they owed. A few tried one last attempt to wiggle out of their obligations by appealing to pity or what they claimed was basic human decency. They quickly realized that on this, their tears were as likely to move me as an iron statue. Trade and economy are not for the weak of heart. More so, when dealing with those who mistake a loan for a gift, one must realize that it is their own fault, their own false belief, that now sees them so miserable. Not the one of the man applying the law.

Relationship Note on Serafine
Warrior. Princess.
The product of breeding a wolverine, with a bear, both of which were from the parentage of a viper having bred with a mountain goat. Then dwindled down to a small, easily throw-able package.
She is a relentless opponent even in a mock-battle, which I would have no other way. That is the only way which we will ever simulate the true threats of combat. The combat that is surely on the horizon.
To temper all of this raw, and trained, ability; she has proven herself a humble and gracious winner. She is truly an example that the squires, warriors, and aspiring knights of of Arx, and Arvum no less, should look to as a shining example.

The Greenmarch Family continues to prove to be a never ending supply of surprises, and all of them pleasant. People of honor and passion, they are a happy contrast to the normally dour, buttoned up members of the northern lands I call home. They know perfectly who they are, and are comfortable in their skins, and the differences between they and I create for a refreshing dose of change.
House Telmar is fortunate to have them in the fold, and I look forward to meeting more of their members and learning more of the ones I've already had the privilege of spending time with.

Back in the city, back to normal life. It's amazing how you can bounce back, isn't it? Running about, getting into scraps. Ran into Lady Regent Dawn and her adorable hound at the Ambassador.
Took on some more business for the Society and had a surprisingly pleasant and not at all disturbing lunch with Legate Orazio.
Had Serafine over for a lovely private brunch! No towels were harmed.
Now I have about ten billion dispatches to get through and training exercises and troop discipline to sort out. It's amazing how much work can pile up. I can't even imagine what Vincere is facing at the Ministry. I'm surprised Lady Regent Dawn can even find him in there under all those papers and envelopes and that surprising accumulation of pens.

A good fighter. And a pleasant person to talk to. Always looking for the next job. Find it hard to believe that one of her skill is still looking. People should beating down her door offering her a job.

Relationship Note on Fiachra
The Grenmarch House has yet to disappoint in having the most interesting cast of family members. The latest one I met was Lord Fiachra Greenmarch. His easy going nature and straight forward manner is a continued breath of fresh air, and I am left in little doubt as to the honor and duty he holds in high regard when it comes to family and household.

In his absence this past year I have felt spread thin. Pulled in too many directions and had my focus strained and demanded at every turn.
And now that he has returned, for good it looks like, I find myself able to hone in and focus on what is most important to me again. Our soldiers have never been more well trained. My goals never more focused or aligned. I feel like myself again.

Relationship Note on Serafine
Spent most of my day doing strength training with Serafine.
The more I'm around her, the more I absolutely adore her. We shared stupid stories, gross stories, hilarious ones. We compared notes on a multitude of things.

Spoke with Marquis Vincere this afternoon, after Princess Alis appointed me to liase between the Compact and the Valardin military. Very to-the-point, no-nonsense type; I expect we'll work well together going forward. This is the sort of thing the Duke would want being done, isn't it?
