I had a lovely conversation earlier this week with Lord Dycard Blackshore, who has just joined the Society of Explorers. I am delighted to see someone else with similar passions join the organization, and hope to have the opportunity to share some books with him in the future. Lady Mabelle Laurent helped connect us, and I am, as always, impressed by her thoughtfulness. I hope we all can connect more in the future.

Today has been a busy day, taking care of all the paperwork that piles up. But now that it is finished, I am going to enjoy a nice glass of wine by the fire, and ponder if I can come up with a poem.

I spent some time with Quintin, having a good discussion about research and the Hall of Heroes. I shall be quite interested to hear what he has to say after he visits the place.
In other news, I think I would like to have a child's party with Ryhalt and Clover, so that our children can get to know each other better. I wonder if we can manage that without too much fuss.

Relationship Note on Maren
I had a delightful afternoon and respite from the cold in the Jade Moon. It was a trudge from the carriage through to the doors but very much worth it. I had never seen tea that transformed from a ball to a blooming flower but now I have and the twins and Eleyna did so delight in it. Even if there was fighting over who had the better flower steeping in their water. Ever does their great aunt dote upon them. Such worries that I had when she appeared within the city and presented herself at the estate. But then, I always worry about everything. But between then and now, it has been a delight to see the look on my husbands face when she is around. The children flocking to her when she comes to the estate and YaYa as they like to call their cousin to whom Astrid just flat out adores.
It's good to have family around. To see them all embraced and accepted. I miss this. Have missed this. I shall have to thank Gild for the blessing laid upon this family and cherish the time despite the turmoil around us. I shall remain in envy though that Aunt Maren was permitted to know the name of Eleyna's doll but that I am still bereft of the knowledge.

I put some of my clothing designs and artwork in one of the display cases that Zyxthylum set up just south of the city center since he's asked me to look over the place while he's going to be away... I am going to miss him dearly, he's been a sharp Protege. I didn't put in a display case to sell anything but I hope that if people see my artwork it'll offer some praise to Jayus, I like to fill my hours crafting things and trying to keep my spirits light as I pray us through this time of war. I am not fit for the battle field and I fear my recent dreams have my head too full of worries for me to be of any asset in diplomacy. Speaking of light spirits, there is also a small lounge area just off of Kithrite's Showroom where I'll be spending all my free time in the coming months... Zyx has left the most wonderful table games to play.
As I mentioned, it saddens me that Zyx will be away but I've made a few other new friends this week...

I always tell people that in times of darkness, you must try harder to see the light... Sometimes, the light just refuses to not shine. Sometimes, what might seem dark might make you wonder if you ever really understood it, as you thought you did.
What is darkness without light?
What is sadness without joy?
And can a person live somewhere in the middle? Can you feel sadness and joy in practically the same moment?
If someone sees you smile when you are meant to be full of sorrow... will they understand that one does not completely erase the other? If there is sadness in the eyes and a curl of the lip, will the person who made you smile think they failed as it is not reflected in your gaze?
Don't mind me scholar... I'm just working through some things.
