Esoka

Perhaps I'm too practical when it comes to clothes. I can't remember the last time I was out of my leathers or steel for a day. Some of that it work and necessity, especially given the state of the land now, but some of it is just me thinking impractical things aren't worth the bother.

This is why it was such fun to get pretty things at Princess Reese's yard gifting! I am in possession of a blouse! And some skirts! The picking them out was far more fun than I anticipated, and I think they will look pretty! I confess I look forward to wearing them. Not into battle, of course. I'd not want to ruin them. But I hope soon I will have a day just to dress in something not wholly practical.

Whisper the Snowy Owl, Frostbite the Wolf, Eclipse the Chevallian Destrier, Lisette of Ashford, Cosette of Ashford arrive, following Killian.

Lady Brianna Halfshav probably sends a message ahead of arriving, on hearing that Princess Reese is giving things away. It probably says something along the lines of: 'Ribbons, I will be utterly dejected if there isn't a set of ribbons for me. -- Firebird'. That is all the warning that Reese receives of her imminent arrival. When she does arrive, her bright hair shining and a fluttering gown of ivory silk wrapped around her already fair figure, her lips flash into a quick, warm smile for the Grayson princess. "I hope you are prepared to break up some fights," she teases. Her gaze slides towards Silas, a laugh expelled, before she does a watchy-eyed gesture to the man. "Baron Whitehawk."

Killian meanders in. Purely on coincidence. Honest.

Mia gets a small altar statue of Skald, the First Choice from sturdy northern cedar chest.

6 Crimson Blades Sergeant arrives, following Tobias.

Esoka is not far behind Mia, and //definitely// not here by coincidence. She tromps in eagerly and gazes around the yard with wide eyes. "Hello your Highness!" Reese is waved to brightly, before she begins pawing through things like...well, like a shopper at a yard sale.

Reese turns her attention to Brianna and she seems pleased to see the redhead. "Oh, no ribbons. I kept all my ribbons, but if you really want a set, I could get you one, maybe not pink though. You might look better with blue, silver or green ribbons." She says ponderingly. "I can break up fights, if I have to or maybe join the fights, depending. She then smiles over to Esoka. "Greetings, Dame Esoka, nice to see you." She has a smile for Killian as well.

Killian sliiiiips in and sidles over to Reese, "Sooo..watcha got?" he asks in a teasing sort of tone, already looking and ohhhhing as he pulls a Tikva from the stuffs

Killian gets Lady Inquisitor Tikva Riven Figurine from sturdy northern cedar chest.

Silas looks up when he hears Lady Halfshav's greet and replies with a wry grin. "Hello, Lady Halfshav. Here for the goodies as well? Get them while supplies last!" For his part, after a cursory look over what is being sold he seems to be content with others helping themselves first. "Fortunately for me, I think Aiden has scooped up a lot of these." He also sends a friendly wave Esoka's and Mia's way, though there likely wasn't much distance between them.

Silas gets Pirate Otter of the Tempest Painting from sturdy northern cedar chest.

"Your Highness," the Countess greeted, with Mia dipping into a small curtsy for the now long-familiar figure of Reese. "I came to see the spectacle," she freely admits, her dark eyes glimmering with a hint -- albeit a very small one -- of mischief. "Especially since I believe I've already bought out half of the shop up at the Redrain Gardens, in preparation for our journey."

Silas gets a small altar statue of Vellichor, the God of Knowledge from sturdy northern cedar chest.

Esoka gets a cream hued linen blouse embroidered with green ivy from sturdy northern cedar chest.

Reese peeks over to Killian, having another smile for him. "I have already two Tikvas. One of my room and one for the Grayson main room, so I didn't need all those Tikvas." She murmurs. "Although, really the more Tikvas the better right?" She says and looks to the chest as if pondering taking them back! She then smiles over to Silas. She has a gentle smile for Mia as well. "Oh, Mistress Valery's shop is wonderful."

"I am severely disappointed in you, Ribbons," exhales Brianna in a sigh, despite the smile on her lips. She doesn't move to look through the trunk, instead throwing herself gracefully into a seat next to the princess and watching the proceedings with a curious interest. "If there is something, after. But if the Princess is generous enough to open her things to others, others should have first claim. Not a ducal heir." She catches sight of Esoka, lifting her fingers in a tidy salute. "No offense, Dame Esoka!"

Silas gets Swirl of Colors Vase from sturdy northern cedar chest.

Thesarin makes his way from Heron Hall behind his wife and Sword, taking slow steps onto the Grounds, hands balled at his side as he has a glance at the people gathered nearby. He places a fist over his chest and gives a low nod to the Princess.

Esoka waves back to Silas, before declaring, "This blouse is pretty!" and grabbing a piece of clothing from the assortment. She holds it up against her herself, then nudges Mia. "Opinions, Countess? I don't wear green too often. I don't know why. I like green things. Do you think it would flatter me? Or will the neckline make my shoulders look big?" She turns at the sound of her name. Looking a touch confused at the remark, but she just says, "Umm, none taken." And flashes Brianna a quick smile. "Hello, my lady. Do you like this blouse on me?"

Killian gets Sir Roland Bergere Figurine from sturdy northern cedar chest.

Killian gets High Inquisitor Alistair Figurine from sturdy northern cedar chest.

Killian snags a couple of other of the figures from the stuff Reese has put out, going through and finding a few more figures he doesn't have after all. Actually there's a lot of things, but he sticks to things there are multiples of it looks like.

Killian gets the generous princess figurine from sturdy northern cedar chest.

Killian gets King Alaric Grayson IV figurine from sturdy northern cedar chest.

Reese has a smile of greeting for Thesarin. "Count Thesarin, welcome." She says in his direction. She then turns her attention to Brianna. "Oh, I didn't know you were heir, that is something. An amazing warrior and a heiress." She murmurs and has another smile for her. She then turns to Esoka. "I like that blouse and think that it will look lovely on you. I just mostly wear pink."

Killian gets small wooden figurine of the Legate of Concepts from sturdy northern cedar chest.

Silas picks out an otter painting - which apparently bears the artist mark of one of his lieutenants - and a colorful vase and altar statue. None particularly expensive on their own. "Some art for my gallery, a vase for Emele's room, and an altar statue for my growing collection. Which will also likely go in the library." Silas looks pleased, and mostly announcing this to himself. He peers at the blouse Esoka picks out. "Can never go wrong with earthy colors, I'd say. And I also like green."

"It is lovely," Brianna replies with a quick nod, peering over to Esoka and then the chest. And she adds in a encouraging suggestion: "You should get the blue skirt as well! It doesn't quite match the blouse, but I'm sure you could have one made to match." She rolls her shoulder lightly to Reese, grinning at the woman, before she admits: "A terrible heir, though."

Silas gets Black Iron Serpent Band from sturdy northern cedar chest.

"Frankly, I think you ought to wear green far more often," Mia said with a faint smile for her friend and Sword. Taking a few steps towards Esoka, she smoothed out the fabric against her frame and looked thoughtful for a moment. "I think it's lovely, really. And I do believe I've seen several pairs of leggings in Mistress Penrose's shop that would match, when I went to visit her for all my woolen gowns and tunics that I bought to the Gray Forest. They had green lacings, and would look very smart with tall boots." She was about to say something else when she heard Thesarin's name and turned. "Ohh! Your Highness. I hadn't realized you'd met my husband?"

Tiny Tom arrives, following Sparte.

Tiny Tom leaves, following Sparte.

Brianna gets the generous princess figurine from sturdy northern cedar chest.

"The green skirt, I think would match." Reese says in response to Brianna and Esoka. She then turns to Mia. "Oh, we met before, but only briefly." She murmurs.

Esoka gets Earthy Green Floor Length cotton Skirt from sturdy northern cedar chest.

Killian wanders back over towards Reese with several figures, smiling at her, "I have a couple of spare Paladin's in my suite as well, if you know anyone that's looking.. I would still like to find a spare Brand for the display set.."

"I am getting it!" Esoka declares decisely, after all the validation. She drapes her new possession over one arm. Then blinks up excitedly at Reese. "There is a green skirt!?" Well she wants //that// now. She paws through things until she locates it, holding it up triumphantly. It's then that she spots Thesarin. Who've flashed an only mildly abashed smile. "Count. There is shopping!" It's exciting.

"I saw the Princess at the latest Rite of Gloria. She made an excellent showing of herself." Thesarin gives Reese another nod, and then a hint of a smile to Esoka. "So I see."

Reese looks over to Killian. "Oh, I don't have an a spare Brand, but if I get one, I will give it to you and I will keep the paladins in mind. I have them all, of course." She says, talking with the arrogance of a collector. Reese has some issues. She smiles as Esoka chooses the green skirt. "I love that skirt, but I don't really wear much green. Mistress Alarie made it. She does fine work. I think it will look very lovely on you." She then looks over to Thesarin, seemingly flattered by his compliment. "Thank you, Count Thesarin."

"Was a proper introduction made?," she asked, her eyes flitting back and forth between Reese and Thesarin. Apparently, when it comes to the royal family of House Grayson, Mia is quite concerned with maintaining propriety -- regardless of them being her own lords. Or, rather, lord's lord's lords. Perhaps that had something to do with it.

Silas admires a ring he plucks out from the cedar chest, and at this point his arms were rather full. "Hmm. Interesting..." In spite of it clearly being a 'fake', Silas seems to take a shine to it and slides it on his finger. He retreats from the chest and hums thoughtfully. "I will probably hold another yard sale myself, eventually, for all the duplicates I get from the mystery bags. But we'll see."

Reese peeks overt to Silas, watching as he tries on the ring. She smiles and seems to like people enjoying the stuff. "Your last one was great." She says to the Baron, but then adds to Brianna. "He made furniture for us, it was great."

"I haven't tried any of these mystery bags, yet. I'm a terrible gambler, though," admits Brianna. She stretches to her feet, crossing closer to the chest with a playful bump of Esoka as she slides in next to her. She rummages lightly through the things, finding a figurine of Reese with an exhaled laugh. She picks it up, clutching it to her chest with a declared, "I am taking this!" Then she slides it into a pouch to begin rummaging again, before picking up that blue skirt and holding it up to Esoka's waist. "Take this one, too," she commands, before throwing it over Esoka's arm with the shirt.

Brianna gets Elegant Blue Velvet Skirt from sturdy northern cedar chest.

Killian doesn't avail himself of any of the skirts, but then, he's kind of strange that way. He settles over close and offers a smile to Reese, "My thanks, Princess," he says with a slight bow of his head.

Thesarin looks between Mia, and Reese, and tilts his head slightly. "Perhaps, once? Not then, I think. She was busy."

Esoka considers the other items out for the taking. Eyes falling on a white horse plushie. Which softens her smile, makes her nod to herself. It's picked up and added to her haul, before she moves a little away from the chest. "I think I know someone wh1o will like this. And I'm looking forward to wearing these!" She gives her new skirt a twirl. "I have to spend so much time in armor. And I don't mind. I rather like what leather does to my legs, come to it. But it's fun to wear softer things as well, and I hope I'll have more opportunity for it when things settle." She's about to edge away from the chest, when Brianna tosses another skirt at her. "I couldn't...oh, all right!" She doesn't need much urging. She twirls the green and the blue one //together//.

Esoka gets Menagerie Plush Series - White Horse from sturdy northern cedar chest.

Reese seems flattered as Brianna chooses a figurine of herself. "They are quite a lot of fun, but sort of addictive, the mystery bags." Reese says to Brianna. She smiles as the blue skirt is held up for Esoka. "I think that skirt would suit you well too." She murmurs, before looking between Thesarin and Mia. "Yes, just so very briefly." She says. "Yeah, I started not always wearing my armor around all the time, more recently. I got paranoid when the bringers kept getting in the city and used to be always in steel."

Silas chuckles to Reese and nods. "It did turn into more of a furniture sale, yes. But I enjoyed it. And people were terrible about not paying me!" He clears his throat at Brianna, when she mentions the mystery bags and being a gambler. "They typically sell out within minutes of being put up for sale. It's brutal." He then turns, but nods back to Reese. "I'm going to go stash these new prizes. Thank you, Your Highness."

Reese smiles gently to Silas. "Take care, it was nice to see you again, Baron Silas."

Thesarin gives a single nod to Silas. "Baron."

Reese puts Violet Cambric Day Dress in sturdy northern cedar chest.

Reese puts a cream colored linen blouse with violet trim in sturdy northern cedar chest.

Reese puts Pastoral Lavender Wool Day Dress in sturdy northern cedar chest.

Silas nods back to Reese. "Take care, Your Highness." He also pauses in his step to bow to Mia, Thesarin, and Esoka. Somewhat clumsily. "Be well, Count and Countess Riven. Dame Esoka." He then inclines his head Brianna's away, still in the bow. "And Lady Halfshav!"

The sight of Esoka twirling was enough to make even Mia smile, however fleetingly. It all started with a twitch in the corners of her lips, flashed across her face for a moment, and then faded. Perhaps because she had turned to give a nod to Silas as he departed. "Baron Whitehawk." A pause. "Should I make the official introduction, then? Or are we largely content with a simpler, passing greeting?"

Esoka returns the bow to Silas. While juggling her new clothing, horsie under one arm.

"Baron Whitehawk, my prestigious ally," salutes Brianna in return as the man excuses himself, her lips curving into a quick smile. She glances towards the chest as more clothing is put in, before sliding a look towards Esoka, weighing. Perhaps judging how many new outfits she can get the woman to accept.

"Let us do things properly, then." The big Shav steps forward, and gives Reese another low nod.

Giuseppe, a kindly old man arrives, following Luca.

Reese puts a few more clothing items to the chest. "Forgot about those." She murmurs softly. She then turns her attention to Mia. "Oh, I am good either way." She says in her direction. She then looks over Esoka with encouraging smile. "Sometimes I buy stuff, just because it is pretty or fun and don't end up using it." She then sees Thesarin drawing near and rises to her botted feet. "Properly then."

Mia slipped her arm into the crook of Thesarin's, inclining her head faintly to Reese. "Your Highness, may I present Thesarin Riven, Count of the Twainfort, Chief of the Greenwood Prodigals, and Warchief of Riven?" It seems that the introduction was being made largely for her husband's benefit, as she informed him, "We have the honor of addressing Princess-General Reese Grayson, Minister of War and General of the Grayson Army. She will be leading the expedition northwards to the Redrain borders that I leave for shortly. You'll have much to discuss on the subject, I'm sure."

Sabella slips out from the gardens and into the grounds in a soft sweep of silk. Delicate brows rise at the gathering. A sudden chime of laughter reaching her lips, quickly covered with a knuckle and slight clearing of her throat. "My sister, the hoarder?" she queries softly even as she approaches, a smile upon her lips to all in greetings.

Reese is still standing on her booted feet and her attention seems to be mostly upon Mia and Thesarin. "A pleasure to be formally introduced, Count Thesarin. I think that we might find ourselves working closely together." Reese says and then adds a moment later. "Thank you for sending your men on this mission. I appreciate that and well so does Grayson." She says softly, before pausing for a moment. "And Countess Mia, thank you for coming, but keep yourself safe." She adds with just a touch of concern. She then gets distracted by Sebella. "I have a little bit of a collecting issue, just a bit."

"Ribbons, next time," offers Brianna, as she apparently comes to the conclusion that she won't try to foist more clothing on Esoka. To whom she smiles, as she adds, "It was a pleasure to see you again, Dame Greenblood. Would you care to go jogging tomorrow morning with me, maybe? On the beach? The two Graysons showed me I need to get in better shape." To Mia and Thesarin, she curtsies easily, smiling to them.

Esoka smooths out her pile of new clothes, and balances her little plush horse jauntily on her shoulder. "It is fun!" she agrees with Reese enthusiastically, about acquiring. Watching the proper introduction between the princess and her count with a slight smile. She looks over at Brianna. "Always a pleasure to see you, my lady. Yes, I owe you a jog! The beach should be very beautiful now that the weather's warmer. Or we could run the Gauntlet. It's always bracing." Sabella is noted, and offered a bow. A careful one, that won't topple her horse.

"I hope that my newly forged sword will see to that; the question of armor and guards, however, is entirely another matter," she said, shaking her head and taking a step back to allow the conversation she'd so interrupted to continue. Catching sight of Brianna from the corner of her eye, she curtsies in turn, adding a soft, "Excuse me, my lady." They hadn't met, so there was no name for her to append to her apologies.

"If I can be of service, Princess." Thesarin offers another low nod, and he takes a step back as Reese and Sibella greet one another. Brianna gets a nod as well. "Lady Halfshav." He nods to her, and indicates Mia. "My wife, Countess Mia Riven of the Twainfort." He nods again. "Lady Brianna, winner of the same Rite."

Sabella's smile flickers into a slight grin, a tip of her head given to Mia and Thesarin as they speak with her sister before Reese comments back. "Well far be it from me to not take up the chance to rifle around through your stuff," she chimes. Her smile turns towards Esoka as the woman bows. The princess pauses a moment, clasping her hands lightly together as she dips in return. "Greetings, I am Sabella Grayson" she offers softly, "The plush horse is adorable. I imagine it shall have a wonderful new home."

Reese smiles once again toward Sabella. "Oh, feel free, rifle away." She says in her direction. She goes to sit back down near the chest. "If anyone here, wouldn't mind supporting the Graysons and myself? I am trying to raise economic writs to help support our missions and our purchasing power and so forth. I want my family and myself to be able to help people with gear, bid on auctions, support the crafters, pay for missions against the slaver and against the sea beast. So I am doing what I can." She says, seemingly to them all.

"I should be able to accompany the Riven party properly, my lady," Esoka says to Mia. "The...errand I was engaged on in the Gray Forest was settled more quickly than I anticipated. And to the good. I shal tell you the tale of it properly when we've occasion for it. And I want to see your sword!" She straightens and nods to Sabella. "It's to be a gift. I think he'll like it. And it is quite a adorable. It is most good to meet you, Princess. I'm Dame Esoka Greenblood. Sword of the Twainfort and sworn knight to House Riven."

Reese turns her attention to Esoka. "Oh, that is very good, that you will be able to attend with them."

Reese gets a messenger. "Hmms...a shop is stocked up." She says, looking all taut with a desire to shop.

"That is very, very good news, Esoka, and I look forward to hearing the story soon -- hopefully before I leave myself," she said with a nod. And then Mia exhaled a faint sigh of relief. She felt far more comfortable with the Sword at her back -- or rather, at her front, between her and anyone coming at her with a sharp edge -- than she might otherwise. "As for your request, Your Highness, I do believe that Riven has supported every initiative that the Graysons have asked of us. I see no reason to stop now....," she said, trailing off and arching a brow. "Should we be off to it?"

Thesarin turns toward Sabella with a low nod, one thunb hooked under the belt of his sword. In the courtly finery of a Count, he looks exactly as though someone dressed a Shav warlord up in a Count's clothes.

"A pleasure, Dame Esoka and very thoughtful. Far more than myself being nosy," she muses in jest. Reese's comment draws Sabella's attention a moment, she nods to her younger sister's words even as she slips towards the chest a moment. She seems to take her time perusing the items within considering they come from within her own household and from one so near and dear, quietly taking her time to let others choose as they will. Her gaze lifts after a moment towards Thesarin at his movement. A grin flickers across her features at the state of his dress even as she tips her head in turn. "So many tales to catch up on," she chimes softly in regards to all as conversation filters about her.

"I should be returning to Heron Hall, come to it," Esoka says. "I've a few things to see to before we're all departed. I will enjoying wearing these things, Princess Reese!" And with that, off she goes.

Sabella gets Pastoral Lavender Wool Day Dress from sturdy northern cedar chest.

Reese smiles warmly toward the Rivens as they speak of leaving. She seems to be in a pleasant mood.

white-tailed eagle, other white-tailed eagle leave, following Mia.

Reese rises to her feet. "Well, I better go, urgent things to do." She says and likely means shopping. Her chest is left behind for Sabella to look though.

Peaches, a lovely white war filly with a peach saddle, Justice, an elegant hunting falcon, Stormy, a silvery gray hunting hound, 1 Grayson Guardsmen, Baby Badger leave, following Reese.

Sabella gets a charming wooden box with ten compartments from sturdy northern cedar chest.

Sabella gets Violet Cambric Day Dress from sturdy northern cedar chest.

Sabella pauses a moment in her own 'shopping' as Reese rises to leave. "I shall certainly need to find a way to repay the rifling and gifts in here."

Thesarin gets a charming wooden box with ten compartments from sturdy northern cedar chest.

Thesarin gets Elven Luck Charm from sturdy northern cedar chest.

Thesarin gets Toy Horse and Cart from sturdy northern cedar chest.

Thesarin takes a few small items from the chest, and stands, carrying all three in one arm. He lowers his head again to Sabella. "Princess."

Sabella slips a couple of dresses from the chest, ever like her to slip her fingers through the soft fabrics within. "Count, a pleasure and I see you are a fan of toys as well!" she exclaims though her voice is light.

Thesarin holds up the toy, and the corner of his mouth rises, just the slightest bit. "For my youngest." He gives her another nod, and turns to go, then pauses to rifle a moment more.

Thesarin gets a small, opaque blue glass vial of fragrant oil from sturdy northern cedar chest.

white-tailed eagle, other white-tailed eagle arrive, following Mia.

Sabella nods, a smile warming her voice at the mention, watching even as he turns back once more to gather something up. "I hope he enjoys it, be well," she offers softly.

Thesarin nods, slips a small vial into a pouch, and turns to head back toward the gate.

Inquisitor Jonathen, 4 Veteran Confessors arrive, following Laric.

Inquisitor Jonathen, 4 Veteran Confessors leave, following Laric.

1 Grayson Guardsmen, Peaches, a lovely white war filly with a peach saddle, Justice, an elegant hunting falcon, Stormy, a silvery gray hunting hound, Baby Badger arrive, following Reese.
