Bringer Attack in Ward Grayson!

A bringer attack on Grayson Ward! This will primarily be a combat prp, but it will also be heavily about protecting civilians. I am more than happy to include non-combat characters and will try to find meaningful actions for them. A healer would also be quite helpful. Because this attack is taking place on Grayson Ward I will allow up to 10 Grayson faction pcs. I will take a max of 4 guests. I would prefer the guests to Grayson ward to be likely visitors as this is a surprise attack at the Badger Boarding House. Please contact me ahead of time, so I have idea of who is coming. I do intend to get out coded damaged if applicable.

Esoka

The night seemed an ordinary one.

And yet not ordinary. The stew watery from the press on resources in the city. The civilians, even children, huddled together, looking for the strength that comes in just being surrounded by more people. I have been to war, but never so long in a city under siege. Every moment of it presses on the nerves.

His eyes were wrong. And when I pulled closer to him, I saw that everything about him was wrong. Bringers amongst us. In the guise of servants, and mothers with bundles of evil disguised as babes.

Everything about them is wrong.

The fight is a blur, there were so many of the creatures. I will remember the Graysons, and those who were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time, taking up arms to protect those who could not fight. I will remember Thesarin taking Tikva to safety. I will remember that our steel ended those monsters, and that they can be killed.

We shall kill each Bringer to the last, and we shall protect our own.

And I shall pray for the morning when ordinary no longer means this.

Evening has fallen over the ward of Grayson and the word went out that a small gathering is being held at the Badger Boardinghouse. The gathering is a small and simple one, just a light dinner with golden ale, rustic stew and hard sour dough bread. The stew has a mix of things and is on the watery side, the meat well thinned out, but the siege is starting to effect the food supply. A few of the farmers, laboors and servants of Grayson ward are starting to gather here tonight, lured by free food and a chance to talk.

There is a trio of tried looking middle aged men at one table. The food is being dished out by a woman in apron, her grown pretty daughter and her twelve year landky old son. A few kids are running about the hall, chasing each other and playing. Their mother comes in after them, looking flushed and trying to calm them. "No running inside!"

Calarian has joined the Window Booth.

Luca has joined the Window Booth.

Peregrine has joined the Window Booth.

Barric has joined the Large Table.

Cara has joined the Window Booth.

Ainsley has joined the Bar.

Killian has joined the Bar.

Aiden has joined the Bar.

Esoka is coming down the stairs from her room. Armed and armored, but she lives like that these days. Her dark curls are mussed and she has a 'still waking up' look to her as she makes her way to the bar. "Coffee," she orders/commands.

Esoka has joined the Bar.

Thesarin has joined the Bar.

Tikva emerges from the back with her nanny in tow, likewise armed and armored as per usual. Her smile sunny, she pitches a wave towards Esoka and goes, "Esoka!" and beelines for her house's knight, bounding over towards her with a kind of frenetic energy.

Tikva has joined the Bar.

In his armor, but with his helm off, Ainsley is pushing the door open and holding it so for his younger siblings. Once they've both entered he wanders past them to lead them in the direction of the bar, "Ailys, do you want wine? Aiden, tea or coffee? Water, please." He tells the bartender, shifting to rest against the bar and glancing in the direction of Tikva when he hears her voice.

Cara keeps her cloak on against the chill, seated near the window with a few others of the Grayson family -- and a Luca -- with a pot of plain tea and toasted bread in front of her, which she's enthusiastically buttering as she listens to the general chatter around her.

Barric was there, how could the PRince not be. It was good to show that he could accept a simple meal, a meal enjoyed by many in those days of the siege. He sits at the large table, very visible one might think and looks around the place. A sip of the drink offered and a bite of the bread and meat.

Asger 's arm is about Lailah's shoulder, the two talking quietly amongst themselves as they step into the office from the bountiful badger hall. A low mirthful rumble of laughter echoing from Asger as he teases Lailah "Though with all those books you keep taking to bed I might end up getting a bit jealous of them." his tone warm and affectionate

Thesarin dwells in the Badger, and thus finds himself returning a bit early, for himself. He still has his armor on and a sword on his hip, and his smile gives its usual frown of neutrality. He sees Tikva, Esoka, and Tiber and decides to join them at the bar, "Hopefully there's room for one more," he says and orders a pint for himself.

Aiden scoots in for the door being held open by Ainsley, birdless tonight, which is a good thing considering the crowds. "Tea please, yes," he response to Ainsley, looking over at Ailys as they approach the bar, shadowing along behind big bro.

Lailah is coming down the stairs from her own room, pressing into Asger's side like a teenage girl. Which she is, at the age of 19, it would seem. She laughs in return, nodding. "Well, the books were there first, so I suppose you'll just have to learn to deal with it!" she teases, before her eyes come to... "Oh! Ainsley! Gods, I haven't introduced you yet, have I? Ainsley, this is Duke Asger Crovane," she beams at her cousin.

Ailys nods her head a little to her brother, "I would like some wine indeed, thank you" she says as she looks around and she smiles bit as she looks back to her little brother. "It is nice to see us all together." she says as she moves gently closer to Aiden.

Now this, /this/ is food. Simple, hearty, salt of the earth sort of stuff, and Peregrine approves. She's finished bread, she's finished stew, and now she sits hunkered over the table with her hands around a tankard of ale. Not for her the fine attire such as her husband, Calarian wears. No, tonight, the Prodigal princess is in leather and furs, and she smells of woodsmoke and wind in her hair-- as happens when one has been camping with their soldiers recently. "It is not so silly, your duels," she is in the midst of saying. "Except for how you make them pretty."

Tikva swings up onto the barstool and balances on it, bracing her bootheels against the bottom rungs of the stool and standing on it with great cheer for her newly elevated height. She balances there for a moment, palms lifted in counterweight for a moment before she braces them at her hips. "Hello," she says. "Count Thesarin! I sent Marquesa Samantha the message we discussed. I figured it would be better to get all our ducks in a row before -- uh, popping off. You know."

Esoka grins broad, raising a hand to wave in return. "Tikva! I was afraid I was going to sleep through this little gathering. Could do with a meal in good company." Even one that consists of watery stew. Her smile shoots quick at Thesarin. "Get over here before I eat your share of the stew, your countship." She soon has a bowl for herself. And a cup of that coffee she's so very invested in.

Killian is, at the moment, settled at one end of the bar and fairly silent as he's nursing a tankard of ale, he looks up from his drink at the sound of Lailah, looking a bit surprised as he spots her pressed up against Asger. His eyes look the pair over, then just sliiide on over to Ainsley. "This will be entertaining.." he muses very, very quietly as he considers the situation.

Standing behind the bar is slender man who looks to be his late thirties. He smiles over to Esoka, a charming smile that touches his dark eyes. "Certainly, Dame Esoka. Do you like yours sweet and lighter, I might be able to find some cream. We have a little left." He says, sounding rather smooth. He then looks over to Tikva and smiles. "Oh, the Lady Tivka, an honor!"

One of the children looks over to Ainsley. He looks about ten. "Wow, its prince Ainsley, I want to be just like him when I grow up." He is all wide eyed and starting. His mother blushes and dips into a curtsy. More commoners start filing in, eager for the meal and curious about the gathered nobles.

Ainsley smiles in the direction of Aiden, briefly touching his shoulder. His gaze is pulled toward the cousin calling his name. "Lailai." He says, edging away from his siblings briefly to hug his Bisland cousin. "Duke Crovane." Ainsley eyes, eyeing the Redrain a moment.

....Bbbuuuuuut Asger is (temporarily) saved from Ainsley Death!Glare by the sound of a little voice saying his name! The prince turns in that direction and grins at the child. His hand lifting to wiggle his gauntleted fingers to the blushing more.

Luca the Languid, Champion Prince of Velenosa and not-so-secretly would-be husband to Princess Ribbons (aka Reese to some), came by the Badger tonight post-hunting it seems, given he's dressed in the glittering Diresnake scale duelist leathers he favors when he's going into actual action with things that take heads off people with swipes of hands. The would-be Grayson had staked out a window booth after ordering himself a drink, and sprawled there with all the lazy grace of a Lycene, twin blades of viper-pommeled sabres over his shoulders not seeming to discomfort his sprawl much even if they keep spine straighter than a proper sprawl should have. He'd at some point in time settled that booth across from Peregrine and Calarian and been having idle, pleasant chatter with them over the hearty meal. To the fur and leather-clad woman the lazy prince instantly took to, he's laughing and offering back. "A good show makes for a better entertainment, entertainment makes for a better relief of tensions of the people, even as the honor of the matter helps relieve tensions between the parties involved. Why not make a thing pretty and help all who watch rather than just a few for honor's sake?" He had one knee up into the booth seat, but on seeing Cara's approach and chill he was quick enough to move it aside and rise as he was able with a smile for her and quieter words.

Ailys sits next to Aiden as their brother gets praised, she grins a little and she nudges Aiden, "Ainsley needs to be in a parade I think, all the commonfolk love him".. she teases.

Tikva stops her precarious perch atop the stool to swing into a seated pose, knees together and elbows on the counter. She props her cheeks against her hands, eyebrows swept high. "An honor? For me? Hardly; but thank you for the courtesy. You've the advantage of me, sir." Her feet swing, gray-green boots gleaming dully from their polish.

Calarian sits in the window booth with a glass of wine next to his wife, Peregrine, and across from Luca and Cara. He lifts his glass for a sip as he listens to Luca and his wife speak.

Ainsley runs a hand over his face and groans, "Please, no." A roll of his eyes is given toward his sister, pleadingly. "They'll like me less if you give me a parade."

Aiden nudges against Ailys, keeping close with her, taking a seat up at the bar with his immediate family. Being the worst at socializing in big crowds, Aiden is glad that attention is no where near him. He smiles quietly and looks around, catching sight of the group at the window booth, to the busy larger table. A bar was a good place to wallflower for now.

Asger flashes Ainsley and easy going grin, "A pleasure to meet you, Prince Grayson. I don't believe we've ever been formally introduced." with a squeeze to Lailah's shoulders he grins down at her, "Someone here has been keen to get me introduced to all sorts of folk, she says it's important."

Lailah grins at Ainsley, hugging him tight. "We're trying to get wedding plans in order," she says cheerily, wiggling her fingers to Aiden and Ailys as well. "Oh I think a parade would be lovely. Everybody needs to see you blush as women... and maybe a few men, throw themselves at your feet." She smirks at Asger then. "It's called meeting your girlfriend's family." she says with a wink.

Peregrine scoffs, but it is good natured disagreement between herself and Luca. "Entertainment," she says, tasting the word-- one of many she's still getting a handle on. "I tell you this. Fighting. It is not ever should be entertainment. It is blood and bone and meat split open because you would have it so, or the one you fight would have it so. /That/," her fist thumps the table, "is fighting. Not to see who is prettiest."

Cara chats quietly at the booth with her compatriots, sipping tea.

Ailys has joined the Bar.

Mae the messenger, curious little thing she is, peeks her head inside, then quickly slips and pushes back her hook to reveal her face. Pale skin, dark locks, big, big dark eyes. She looks with modest wonder at the sheer number of Graysons and Grayson-relateds in the Boardinghouse. "Packed," she says, quietly, to herself.

People trickle in. About five more farmers arrive. An elderly couple lean on each other arms, the locals maybe knowing them as retired servants of house Grayson. There children and grand children hold various jobs throughout the ward. A group of Shavs also slip inside, could they be enemies or are they refuges that have been given shelter? It is hard to tell, but they seem peaceful enough. The group numbers at about ten, including three men and six women. One of the women has what appears to be a baby wrapped in her blanket and in her too slender arms.

The children in the hall are up to a dozen, their parents for the most part with them, but one little girl seems to be her on her own. She heads up to timidly ask for some stew. The boy keeps staring at Ainsley. "I am gong to have a sword like him one day." He brags to his sister who is is nearby.

The man behind the bar smiles charmingly to Tikva even as he gives Esoka, her warm strong coffee. "What can I get for you?"

Aiden lifts a hand at Lailah, using the opportunity to pluck a feather out of his springy hair.

Barric laughs softly from where he sits, perhaps it is better that he can observe more thatn it seems anyone is being chatty with him.

Killian leans back and eyes Lailah and Asger, "There seems to be a lot of this 'matrimony' bug going around lately," he says quietly as he eyes the pair. He gives a small smile and a nod of his head, "Duke Crovane, I trust it goes fairly without saying to mention that half of Grayson's nobles were raised by Duke Bisland and Lady Iona..and thus are more than passingly fond of our adoptive little sister there.." he grins, "thus, if you hurt her, we're going to form a party line of people eager to do horrible, painful retributiony things to you.." he suggests cheerfully.

Peregrine lowers her tankard to the table. Her focus has gone from her table to the incoming Shav'arvani and it's in that language she calls out, appearing to hail the woman with the baby. Friendly, maybe? Except her eyes have narrowed.

Peregrine says in Crownlands shav, "What do you have there, woman! That is no child!"

Esoka shakes her curly head at the offer of cream. "I drink my coffee black." She is //firm// about this. As if the server might thrust sweetner upon her in a rush of misplaced enthusiasm. "And a bowl of the stew will do me fine." She casually people-watches as she settles at the bar, elbows on the table, properly comfortable. Mae's entrance is spotted and the woman, over the crowd, is given a wave. Peregrine is also noted. The tattooed woman receives the slightest of nods of her chin, of quiet acknowledgement. But then...something makes her eyes sharpen. At the shav with the bundle in their arms, and that one gets a look and sharp elbow at Tikva. Like, something off there? But it's the man behind the bar who seems to //really// catch her attention. "You look pale." She doesn't really sound concerned. And, in the next motion, a fist is reached up to //yank// on the pale fellow's collar to examine him more closely.

Cara tilts her head, her own attention caught by the man behind the bar, then the woman's baby. She lowers her own voice, going still.

Calarian checked perception against difficulty 20, resulting in 26, 6 higher than the difficulty.

Ainsley tilts his head toward Aiden, and between one breath and the next his entire demeanor changes. He places a hand on Ailys' shoulder and says casually, "Sister, it's rather crowded in here... Why don't you find us a spot outside on the benches?"

His gray eyes shift around the room.

Ainsley checked charm + manipulation against difficulty 15, resulting in 15, 0 higher than the difficulty.

Vivid eyes narrowing slightly, Tikva focuses for a moment on one of the refugees, and turns slightly on her stool, angling herself towards the visitors even as she holds herself with a tense kind of stillness. One of her hands drifts to toy idly with the fletching on one of the white-fletched arrows poking up out of her quiver, even as she says, "Oh ... tea, please. Ginger, if you have any."

Asger is far too busy paying attention to Lailah to let little things like situational awareness affect him "I always thought getting to meet your girlfriend's family involved a hunt, a roaring fire and drinking till you passed out." gesturing about him he says "This is far too civil and calm to be meeting family. Grinning up at Killian he tells the man "If I hurt the lass then some foul devil has obviously possessed me and I need to be put down." clicking his tongue he muses "Though if you aim to put me down you are going to need to bring at least forty men to take me." a hint of amusement dancing in his voice

Killian slides from his seat, moving with an almost casual speed as he slides over and around towards Cara, a smile on his face. "Cara, I'm so glad to see you out tonight.." he says, even as one hand slips down to his waist and loosens Bringer of Dawn slightly in it's sheath, the other hand catching his helm up towards his head. His conversation with Asger and his ale both seem entirely forgotten.

Lailah looks over at the woman holding a baby in her arms, looking at it though giving Asger a look in his direction. "That's gonna be me meeting your family," she says with a simple nod of her head. Though she gets serious. "That woman over ther?" she gestures. "Does that bundle look like a baby to you?"

Thesarin nods to Tikva, "Good." His voice bears some dark tone to it, "I look forward to the meeting as the business is most important." He nods to Esoka, "I will eat it shortly!" The count begins devouring as soon as he gets the soup within reach. "It is indeed good, or I am very hungry, or both."

Ailys looks over Ainsley, and she shifts to her feet. "Alright Ainsley, if you like.. lets go?" she moves her hand along Aiden's arm and she secures her more frail brother by the hand. "Aiden, wont you come with? We are moving outside."

Luca offers up a lopsided flash of grin showing a bit of teeth aside to Peregrine after her thumping commentary that doesn't seem to bother him, pausing in what he was saying to Cara and . "Truth be told, I joined the Champions looking to find a worthy challenge in the ring and little more. I thought much the same about true fighting and still do to some extent. I hadn't actually given it much deeper thought until only recently when I got tapped as Master at Arms. Dueling, ultimately, though isn't about the blood spilt. It's about the skills matched and watched over by will of the gods. On the battle-field, there's nothing pretty. It's about blood and death and survival. In the ring, it's about something...higher." That tangent aside, he's going back to murmur something to Cara, even while only giving half an eye past her to the arrival of newcomers. Shav refugees aren't exactly something one sees rarely lately after all, so he mostly seems oblivious.

Barric:Sits and eats, though the words some speak and now noting tension in the room has the Prince looking around more than concentrating on his food and drink, which is currently in hand still after a sip.

Mae flashes a smile as she spots Esoka, and gives a wave. Oh, there's Calarian, she knows him. Another wave. Then Luca, oh my! She's about to go move towards /someone/... but then she turns to gaze upon the shavs. She's right there at the entrance, she just turns, and steps forward, towards the shavs. Towards the woman with the baby. "Hi!" she says. "Oh. My. Goodness! I love babies!" Mae says, with a sunny smile. "Can I see it?"

Calarian checked composure against difficulty 20, resulting in 23, 3 higher than the difficulty.

"Mae, we were just talking about you," Calarian calls over to the messenger, pulling away from the dueling discussion. "Perhaps you'll join us." His smile is warm and composed. Impeccable.

Aiden looks up to Ainsley, then spins on the bar stool to give the bar tender a long look, as his hand is taken by his sister. He starts to get up off the bar stool when a silver bird pendant drops out of his pockets. "Ailys one second... I dropped my chain and pendant," he stoops over, looking for the object that scattered around their feet somewhere, starting a frantic crawl. It bounce somewhere.

Aiden drops a bird pendant slid onto a silver necklace.

The woman with the baby looks toward Peregrine, clutching the burden even tighter in her slender arms. She seems uncertain what to say. Her eyes are dark and almost deadened. She doesn't answer the warrior woman, which can't be a good sign. "Bar the doors!" Another near her calls out in a foreign tongue that Peregrine can understand. Two men near her to to try and just that.

The pale man behind the bar, seems startled by Esoka's sudden action. He tries to dart to the side.

One of the Shavs says to Ainsley. "No one is leaving, least of all the sister of the great Ainsley." He says, snearing the word great.

"Me too.." The woman stammers, trying to toss her bundle toward Mae. "Until they killed mine."

Esoka checked strength + brawl against difficulty 30, resulting in 40, 10 higher than the difficulty.

Peregrine wields a keen-edged well-kept dagger.

Killian wields Bringer of Dawn, a shimmering alaricite long sword.

Luca wields Viper's Fury, an elegant two-handed Lycene sabre of Diamondplate.

The arrow leaps from the quiver into Tikva's hand. She hoists her bow, reflexively angling toward the woman as she takes to her feet. "Mariah! Get down!" she orders in a sharp bark of a voice. "Under the table, /now/."

Ainsley's gray eyes scan the interior of the Badger, taken in the number of non-combatants and those with martial skill. He reaches down so he can grab a hold of the back of Aidens' collar with his hand and pull his younger brother both up and behind him.

Meanwhile the alaricite is pulled from its sheath with his other hand, "Killian, on Cara. Barric, the children. Crovane, Lailah."

Ailys frowns as the doors are bared and her eyes lift as she looks to watch her brother bend down only to see Ainsley pull Aiden back up. "we can find it later... Aiden... do you have your bow?" she asks her brother before her eyes look over to Ainsley with great apology .. She did not get them out in time.

Alejandra, a snowy white hound have been dismissed.

Planchet, a young valet have been dismissed.

Aiden was searching hurriedly for his necklace. He wasn't quick enough to find it before he's grabbed up by the collar, yanked up swiftly enough that when he's hauled back, he goes with unsteady feet and braces back against the bar counter. His cheeks flushed, hand rubbing along his collar, he needs not ask where he has to be. Behind Ainsley. "Y-yes..." he says to Ailys' question, shouldering it off.

Aiden wields Eagle Strike, a Grayson Bow.

Mae checked dexterity + athletics against difficulty 50, resulting in 33, 17 lower than the difficulty.

Asger whistles a cheerful tune as he reaches to scoop the the weasel off his shoulder and hand it to Lailah, "Watch this a moment Lai, it turns out there is going to be a hunt." Drawing his axe, the Duke seems far too pleased at the prospect of slaughter eyeing the shavs trapped in their like they were prey

Lailah takes the weasle in hand and looks around. "Stay close to me!" she says, looking around. "I'm going to get the children... some weren't with their parents!"

Asger wields An elegant and deadly axe Winter's Kiss.

For his part, Luca twitched a little before everything went to the Abyss, said something to Cara at his table, even as he was moving, driving himself upwards from his table, and over booth or chair backs straight towards those at the door, his hands drawing free blades as he goes, one fang-like curve in gleaming steel, the other in mirror-dark diamondplate. He apparently intends to try and stop the whole exit barring that could lead to nasty things. He's letting others call out warnings and orders though, focusing in on the kill with that damnable speed he's famous for.

The man behind the bar is captured by Esoka who is a rather quick thinking moving woman. His disguise starts to fade, revealing himself as a giant hulking bringer. "Surrender to silence. Accept the ending of everything." He says, lifting massive clawed hands to try and pry her hands away.

The children are looking freaked out. Some are screaming, some are crying and that little girl who is all alone is just frozen there stunned, painfully close to one of the shavs. The woman the bundle is throwing a fragile glass bottle toward Mae, it is some kind of alchemy bomb most likely. Two of the shavs near her, drop their disguises, revealing themselves to be bringers. One of the human shavs, reaching out for the child. Two human shavs are working on barring the door, trying to trap them all in, likely for an ambush. The old woman is crying. The shavs ar drawing weapons.

Calarian listens to something his wife tells him as she stands. And then, after a moment's consideration, he takes his glass of wine in a tight hand and climbs under the table.

Esoka is quick at manhandling strangers, if nothing else. She straight-up //launches// herself over the bar to grab the man's collar and try and jerk his face toward hers. And then, precisely what's amiss about it becomes //very// clear. "BRINGER!" she yells, before reaching for her sword.

Ailys reaches out as things start to happen, she takes a step inwards and pulls the small child out of the middle of everything. The healer places the child between herself and Aiden, "Stay here" she says to the kid. Ailys had no weapon yet, or armor so the healer simply watched for now until she could help out.

The woman throws her baby at Mae, and Mae, quick thinking thing she is, recognizes that. A glass vial. Almost surely meant to shatter. So her eyes go wide and she reaches into the air to try to grab it. One hand on it, then she bobbles, then she stumbles, and after a valiant effort, Mae ends up not matching that catch

Killian checked stamina + survival against difficulty 20, resulting in 20, 0 higher than the difficulty.

Peregrine, like Luca, goes /over/ the table. She's fast, wickedly fast, and agile as a mountain goat no matter her tribe's love for birds of prey. She's up and over hardly rattling the cups that remain on the table, performing a leap that drives her at the back of the nearest of the two newly revealed Bringers. Her daggers have appeared in hand and they whisper through the air but the sounds that follow are rather more... emphatic.

Lailah wields Pride's Claw, a steel short sword.

Ainsley's eyes flick to the doors as they are being barred and then toward the Bringer that Esoka grabbed-- so close to his siblings. "Luca, the doors." And then he's pushing himself a little bit closer to the bartender-- knocking over stools if he must, so he can slash out with his alaricite blade as the monster tries to claw at Esoka.

Asger with a deep hearty laugh, the northerner brandishes his axe in his hand and launches himself in a sprint towards the bringer at the bar calling out to him, "Come my friend, my axe is thirsty, you have picked a wonderful day to lock yourself in a room with me." the laughter continuing as he closes with the bringer to hack viciously at him with his diamondplate axe

The bringer near the bar is attacked by Dame Esoka even as he struggles to pry her hands away. Prince Aiden shoots toward the bringer on Esoka, his arrow slamming into the creature's chest and causing a significant wound. The creature is quite large and dangerous looking, but Esoka and Aiden are not alone. Prince Ainsley joins the gray, drawing his altricite blade and causing great damage. The beast of silence is still standing though. Then Duke Asger arrives, his axe in hand and his blow is powerful, very powerful. Between the four of them, the bringer crumples, falling behind the bar.

Lord Killian reaches for a pot, getting ready to throw it over the bomb. Mae drops her cloak over the shattered and steaming bomb that is giving off gas shortly before he does. It muffles the gas that is black and making it hard to breath. The old man is coughing leaning weakly against the woman at his side. The woman behind the serving table has passed out from the gas, but the children are small and the seem the most effected. The boy who spoke of being like Ainsley one day, has dropped, his face pale and his breathing shallow. The girl who was alone, looks weak and soon to faint. Killian's pot covers over the bomb though, keeping more of the smoke from getting into the room.

Princess Ailys, reaches for the little girl, but a shav is near, reading to tear into them both. Prince Barric steps up, slicing into the shav and taking him down, allowing his cousin to escape with the girl. Lailah scoops up crying four year old, bringing the boy farther from the gas, the shavs and the bringers.

Prince Luca goes for one of the bringers near the doors, slicing into him, but the creature is still standing and fighting back. Princess Peregrine is at his side, fighting the other bringer. Her sword play is impressive, very impressive. She injured the creature intensely, but he stand and tries to cut into her.

The two Shavs near the door, have managed to get the room bared.

Cara's teapot goes flying into the bringer that is fighting Luca, burning his face and bringing the creature to hiss.

Prince Calarian is beneath the table wit his wine, so far seemingly pretty safe.

Tikva's arrow slams into the chest of the woman with the fake baby, bringing the woman to cry out in pain. She isn't dead, but she drops to the ground and seems pretty much out of the fight. She reaches inside her worn cloak, maybe going for another alchemy bomb.

Tikva lets her arrow fly towards what was a woman with a not-baby, her lips curled back from her teeth a snarl that makes the ordinarily impish cast to her features look distinctly sharper and more vulpine. She pulls another arrow, using the lever of the barstool to spring up onto the bar -- archers seeking high ground -- and nocks it to her bow. She whistles a shrill whistle and then fires at the Bringer reaching for something, her eyes narrowed against the fumes from the alchemical smoke.

Esoka shoots Ainsley, Aiden, and Asger a fierce, toothy smile, eyes alight with energy, as they converge on the Bringer. She actually tries the //shove// the thing in the direction of Ainsley's sword, before rolling away from it. And drawing her own weapon and adding to the hacking it'll take to finish the dark creature off.

Lailah's sword leaves it's scabbard, and with weasel on her shoulder, and she scoops up the boy and moves him with her. "Stay close to me little one," she says, taking his hand. She holds the sword steady, defensively guarding the child while she watches Asger tear into the bringers.

Cara grips her piping hot teapot and with all her strength -- not much -- flings it at the Bringer fighting Luca, which makes a great big mess and hopefully gives the Velenosan an opening in his fight. Then, far more calmly than she has any right to look, she scooches back toward the wall -- and reaches up to unlatch the window at her booth, trying to push it open to aid in the escape of noxious gas and (perhaps) people. Windows! Who knew?

Barric sees the child is safe and turns to the bringers and the other 6 shavs as well. There with Luca And PEregrine, joining them to assault the bringers next, still wary of the Shav assistants they have.

"Get between the innocents and the Servants of Silence." Ainsley calls out calm but filled with command. Before Ainsley tries to make sure his form is between as many shavs as possible and the children and commoner family members.

Peregrine is undaunted by being the sole focus of a Bringer. She's in a cold fury, hissing out a stream of Crownlands Shav'arvani that's venemous in tone-- albeit, somewhat breathless from her attempts to remain unskewered as she fights the creature. And as she curses the thing, words in constant flow, so too are her movements unending and lightning-quick. Her knives flash as she feints and slashes and stabs at the thing, and then vaults forward in a bid to climb him like a tree and swing about to his back, where the stabbing is /really/ good.

Ailys gives a quiet thank you to Barric as he moves to intercept the Shavs as she rescues the child, the dark haired Princess wedges the child against the Bar and she draws her breath "Aiden shoot one." she encourages

Aiden's bow string gives a solid twang as he draws and nocks an arrow, releasing it without the hesitation, as Grayson might swells around them. The impact of the close aimed shot is fierce enough to bend the creature back so the other's have a chance to do their work with sword. Aiden looks around and knees upward onto a stool, then slides onto the bar top, nocking another arrow. He sees the Bringer engaging Peregrine from across the way and takes aim to let it go sailing...

Asger licks at his lips as the blood of the brings sprays against him and his armor. As the bringer goes down he grins toothily at with a wild gleam to his eye, and then he spots it the next shav standing. Towards that poor unfortunate soul, Asger now charges, picking up a chair as he moves to chuck it at the shav, not seeming to care so much whether it hits or not, no his concern is bringing his axe down into his prey once close enough.

Thesarin roars in anger and draws his sword from its scabbard, "Here?! You have made a grave mistake, for you are now stuck with /us/!" He snarls and charges one of the shavs, hoping to cut the foe down.

Mae watches as the vial hits the ground. Her bobbling might have slowed it just enough that it doesn't quite shatter, but instead starts to hiss and spray out blackness. Her eyes go wide and she sucks in a breath... which is about the worst possible course of action. She young woman gags, and then tries to recover. She yanks at her cloak, tearing the clasp, and throws the wool garment over the broken vial in hopes of containing the noxious blackness. Of course, wool does so very little. Mae coughs and chokes, and she might well be totally lost to the poison... until Killian arrives, with a pot!

Killian's eyes follow the movements, and as his blade is clearing the sheath, that 'bomb' shatters, and he shifts his movements slightly. A large cauldron had been set just behind the bar, stew of the day, and he gives it a kick to knock it over, sending the last little bit of the stew spraying across the floor as he grabs the handle. He spins it over his head and dives towards that..whatever it is, slamming the cauldron down on top of it as best he can before it sprays too far (he hopes) or gives off too much of the strange..well, in all honesty he has no clue what the hell that is. His sword still in hand after slamming the cauldron down into place, he moves to cut into the nearest threat to Cara. The noxious gas has him coughing already as he calls out, "Smash the windows, we need air in here!" to whoever is near one.

Calarian is not quite safe under the table, it seems: the gas travels far enough to reach him and leaves him coughing, but he tries to drag himself back up from under the table anyways to help Cara get the window by their booth open.

Luca grins fiercely back over shoulder as teapot goes flying to burn the Bringer he cut expert slash across the back in sizzling spray of black blood sent flying by the diamondplate sabre. But he, perhaps surprisingly given reputation, doesn't take that opportunity to cut the thing's head off! Instead he's calling out even as he rushes past it. "Barri! Give that fucker a haircut if you would. Little off the top!" Like a whole skull worth. So what is it that would prevent Luca from adding another Bringer skull to his trophy shelf full of them? Apparently the good of his future family and their vassals! For with a mighty grunt of effort, the lanky Velenosan Prince is moving to kick a scaled boot outward to hit the front doors they barred with a LOT more force than anyone who hasn't fought him would expect from the man's five foot, nine inches of muscle. He bursts right through the boarding they used (and possibly a hinge or two as well), and thereby gives the fumes another pathway out, but more importantly, lets him roar out. "GET THE CHILDREN OUT!!! We'll hold the path clear!!!" After which, he's diving back into the battle, missing that round, but ready to help defend the escape of others.

Luca checked stamina + survival against difficulty 15, resulting in 21, 6 higher than the difficulty.

When the door bursts from Luca's 5'9" clodstomper special, Killian glances that way and yells out, "Watch yourselves, there may be more waiting in ambush outside!" in warning, before anyone can simply rush out into the dark and cold.

The gas is not as strong as it was, but it remains in the room. Lailah, Killian, Calarian and Ailys are all effected. They find themselves coughing on the thick black smoke, feeling light head and experiencing shortness of breath.

The old passes out and his wife gasps with concern, crouching down near his side. He is a frail man and it looks like he might have broken his hip in the fall. The children seem to be suffering with the gas. The twelve year old boy who was helping to serve the meal is coughing next to his mother who is already down.

Lailah gets a lungfull of gas, coughing and sputtering. She lowers herself to her knees and using the fabric of her dress holds the fabric over the boys mouth to act as a makeshift filter. It won't do much, she knows, but she feels she has to do something.

Ailys begins coughing and gasping hearing that the door is open she lifts the child up she had rescued - abit with Barric's help, and she tries to make her way to the door as she ushers however many kids she can out.

Princess Peregrine and Prince Luca are both attacked by a bringer and each are able to nimbly dodge out of the way of their blows. Prince Barric, Prince Ainsley, Lady Tivka and Dame Esoka are each attacked by a shav with a steel weapon. They are all able to dart to the side, evading the blows. Mae Culler and Duke Asger are hit by a shav. Mae takes a nasty slice to her right arm, leaving a wound that is pools with bright blood and causes a great deal of pain. Asger is stabbed in his side, the Duke clearly injured and bleeding as well.

Princess Cara and Prince Calarian open the windows. Cara is trying to crawl out one to escape the gas. It seems that she will be successful. Princess Ailys has children behind her and is ushering them toward the door. Luca is at the doors and he bust them open, breaking through the wooden barrier and freeing the way. Princess Peregrine and Prince Barric find themselves side by side, fighting a bringer. They are both are quite skilled and seem close to taking the beast down. Lailah struggles with the gas even at the four year old child coughs and clings to her for her protection. Ainsley easily takes down the shavs near by him. Asger does as well. Therasin slices into the shav near him. Tivka's arrow goes slamming into the woman reaching inside her cloak, taking her down before she can possibly set off another bomb and potentially saving those in the room from yet more gas. Killian while struggling with the black smog keeps fighting, taking on the bringer that was fighting Luca. Esoka goes for the this bringer as well. Aiden's arrow slams into the bringer on Peregrine and Barric. This bringer is overwhelmed by the three of them, falling into the ground in a crumpled mess of Abysmal spawn. The shavs are all fallen. One bringer stands. Mae breaks another window open even as her arm stings and bleeds. The gas is starting to abate.

There is one bringer standing, barely standing near Killian and Esoka.

"Hurry! Pass the children through!" Cara calls back through the window as she manages to clamber out, holding her arms within to try and help get the noncombatants out.

The gas is sucked in deep as he calls out warnings to the others, and Killian coughs, a deep wracking sound that is disturbingly wet as blood flecks upon his lips, the noxious fumes searing into his lungs and windpipe. For just a moment, his stance falters as the pain lances through his body, before drawing himself up and stalking towards the nearest Bringer. "You have trespassed against the hospitality of Gild..you have broken the sanctity of the lands I am sworn to..and in the name of the gods and before Sentinel, creature, I swear you will face justice!" he roars as he stalks forward. His second blade is drawn as he goes, both of them Storied Blades works, of the finest quality, and he growls in righteous fury. "Abyss take you creature, and tell your masters that oblivion awaits them within these walls!" and then he leaps forward, bringing his swords in like a pair of shears at the creatures neck.

Esoka brings her sword up to block the assault from the shav on her. Her breathing comes in short huffs, to try and avoid inhaling the gas, but she doesn't seem to be suffering much ill-effect from it yet. Her sword-strokes are tight and contained as she sights in the close-quarters of the inn, surrounded by friendlies and civilians, to try and see that her blade lands upon the Bringer.

Ainsley will make his way across the bar, pulling Ailys and Aiden along with them to that window Cara gets open. He'll push his siblings through. As he does he says to Cara, "I'll with to ensure they get safely to some place safe."

Peregrine rocks back onto her feet. Two Bringers dead on the ground before her, their black blood staining her leathers and she turns. "Calarian!" It is a commanding shout and perhaps, yes, a slightly worried shout. Holding her knives in a defensive stance, she backs to the table where the others are ushering children through the broken window, making a barrier of herself before those looking to help others escape. And, incidentally, looking for her husband as she stands vigilant against the remaining shavs.

Mae deals with the gas - with the help of Killian - as much as she is able. Then, following the man's advice, she goes to smash a window. As she does, she edges just a bit too close to one of the shavs. Probably all the poison in her eyes! There's a flash of steel and then she gasps out. "Ah!" she cries, and quickly pivots away. New direction! She runs towards the windows, and grabs out her dagger along the way. The hilt goes for a window. Smash! Meanwhile, she holding that arm as the blood starts to spill out. Her eyes go wide as she attempts to figure out what to do next.

Tikva leaps down from the bar to hustle Mariah and her son towards the newly opened window, tracking enemies with her gaze and with the angle of her arrow, held ready to fire, as she does so. She casts a deeply anxious look between the royals at the window, her chin lifted. "Please, keep them safe," she says breathlessly.

Ailys oooofs as she is pushed out the door, staggering a little over the kids she was helping. She ducks out.

Ailys has left the Bar.

Axe buried in the gut of the shav he is closed with, Asger grabs a bottle from a nearby table and with a slam against the edge of the table breaks it in half. Taking his new toy, the Duke jams it into the neck of the dying shav, pushing him off of his blade and onto the floor to bleed out. With an unmistakable mirth to his voice he calls out, "Now who is next? My blade still thirst and, let's see if we can give her her fill today."

Barric is able to dodge the Shav attack and then strikes at the bringer before him, next to Pergrine. Both make clean gruesome cuts and more join in and sees the one bringer go down before him with multiple blades working on it. He then turns tot he last bringer to strike it down.

"I'm--" Calarian is caught in a coughing fit for a moment before he recovers. "--/fine/!" He tries to reach for a child, working to help get people out through the window to Cara waiting on the other side.

"Ailys!" Aiden looks concerned for his sister as she goes through the black stuff, though he does mark where his arrow went, toward Peregrine's bringer! He slides off the bar counter, giving one last hopeful look to his necklace and in doing so he avoids the grab that Ainsley made for him, "I'll be right there!" He calls out, searching for the necklace that means enough to try and find it in the ensuing chaos.

The shavs have all been killed. One bringer stands before Killian. The door is open. Ailys rushes out side with the children, being guarded by Prince Ainsley. Cara is climbing out the window.

And so, growling out frustration for duty and honor and those things that have tendency of getting in way of cutting things down, Luca's turning to rush out the door before Ailys and the children, looking back over his shoulder to try and help those leaving, oblivious for a dangerous moment to what he's rushing into.

Mae is right at the window, bleeding, holding her wound, gasping in fresh air. It's then that she spots at least one of them. Her eyes go wide. "They're outside!" she cries, just about the same time as the other window-openers notice.

Peregrine will worry about Calarian's coughing later. He spoke, that's good enough for her. Turning, she intends to follow the stream of nobles and children out the window-- and spies the Bringer looming there. What comes next is done without thought or concern for her own well-being: she vaults up onto the table and launches through the window, knives first, hissing and spitting like a cat intent on bearing it down to the ground. Hopefully, not one with arrows whizzing at its head.

Aiden gets left behind because he was searching for his silly necklace. He finds it at last and manages to try and scurry toward the exit behind the others. He comes up short because of the comments from everyone else about it being a trap. He shoves ahead, "My sister, my brother... They went out there!"

Lailah holds the boy close to herself, still coughing as the gas is pulled outside. "Are there any clear places?" she asks. Boy in one arm, sword in the other, and a weasel on her shoulder, Lailah certainly doesn't look ready to be fighting.

Asger grins as he looks about "Then bring them, today there will be kills for all of us, my friends." a low rumble of laughter echoing from the man as he looks towards the doors with anticipation

"GAH!!!" Is Luca's pithy way of adding to the warning calls as he rushed out before Ailys and Ainsley, only to be the first to run right into the trap. Luckily though, Prince Nimble isn't just what Reese calls the man, and he was able to duck aside from vicious attacks, keeping the enemy occupied enough for the other pair to get past with some of children, while Luca's growling out loud enough to carry through the door. "You tricksy motherfu....!" But he's too intent on trying to stay alive and maybe chop off something's head in the process to finish.

Princess Ailys escapes outside with a group of children only to find herself face-to-face with a massive hulking bringer that was just waiting for escapees to kill. Prince Ainsley is at her side, moving to stand between his sister, the children and the bringer. He takes a strike, inflicting damage, but doesn't stay around. His focus is on keeping those fleeing safe. He stays close at their side, making sure that other bringers are not waiting. Prince Luca and Prince Barric charge out the door, both royal warriors attacking the bringer with expert skill and keeping it from following after the fleeing kids. They do a good deal of damage, but the giant beast still stands. He tries to swipe at Luca.

The bringer inside is attacked by Lord Killian, Lady Tikva, Duke Asger, Dame Esoka, Mae Culler and Count Thesarin. They are able to take him down, leaving the creature in a pulp of silence. With the gas abating, the bringers down and the shavs down, the inside of the building is now secure.

The old couple are curled-up together, the man looking hurt. Those taken down by the gas, gasp, starting to wake up. The four year boy is crying and trying to climb into Lailah's lap.

Cara is half way out the window. A bringer is there, ready to attack her. This could be bad, very bad. Peregrine charges forward, pushing Cara out of the way and likely saving her life in the process. She slams her blade into the bringer, who is hurt, but remains standing and is trying to swipe at her.

Aiden's arrow falls short of the bringer as he tries to follow after his brother. Does he follow Ainsley or stay with Luca and Barric to fight?

Peregrine checked dexterity + dodge against difficulty 30, resulting in 37, 7 higher than the difficulty.

Tikva leaps through the window, rolling over the ground in a dive and coming up on one knee. She fumbles for an arrow even as she darts out into the fading daylight, scrambling to fire another shot.

Peregrine is going to get swiped at. That's just the way of it, trying to grapple something monstrous and inhuman. She'll have to trust that pressing in close and contorting-- so flexible!-- will keep her safe. And knives are an in close weapon, after all. It isn't pretty, what she means to do to the Bringer's head and throat with her blades. It isn't pretty at all... but it is messy. Sorry, Cara's dress.

Esoka's eyes try to track Tikva and Thesarin, in the chaos of the figiht, and keep as much on their six as possible. She doesn't have to stray far from the Bringer to do it, her weapon stabbing fiercely at the creature to help in reducing it to demonic pulp.

Thesarin absentmindly wipes his sword clean after helping fell the bring. He scowls and then checks the room for other immediate threats, noting Tikva and Esoka's locations before checking the other entryways for threats before making any other moves.

Lailah holds the boy close, letting him bury his head in her shoulder, still holding a sword in her other hand, ready to use it if anybody gets too close! But for the moment it seems that she is in the clear, and she just waits, her eyes occasionally watching Asger at work.

Mae gets over the pain in her arm and refoucses. There's a Bringer, right there! So she rushes forward and leads with her prismatic-colored dagger. Slash! Right at the back of the knee!

Calarian pulls back sharply when Peregrine leaps through the window. For the moment, he stays inside -- where, weirdly enough, it seems to be safer. But he watches everything with sharp tension.

Aiden hasn't a clear way to follow his brother and sister. His third arrow goes awry, but he takes aim at one of the bringer's blocking his path, inhaling and exhaling upon the nock and release. Arrow goes sailing on point this time!

Cara checked composure against difficulty 50, resulting in 21, 29 lower than the difficulty.

Asger crushes the skull of the bringer pulped by him and the other under heal with a large grin as the crack is heard. With a look around he asks "So where is the next foe?"

Cara is outside, unarmed, and pregnant. In silk. With two Bringers. Even her legendary composure fails her utterly and she goes dangerously pale before letting out an earsplitting SHRIEK. Luckily? All of the commotion has brought her guards from where she ditched them not that far away, meaning that (perhaps) Peregrine and she won't face the creatures alone. In her panic, she grabs a rock from the ground and flings it at the nearest bringer with very little precision.

Luca's dodging aside from the next insanely fast Bringer strike with his usual grace, but making it all the more infuriating, trying to keep the thing's attention on him. How does he do that? He's acting like it was a casual thing and he's toying with it, given how he's giving attention over to Barric to quip out wryly. "Beautiful night for a dance, eh Barri? These things never learn." And even doing so, the Champion prince is trying to flank the creature in order to get a clear shot at it's spine, neck, or heart. The diamondplate or the alaricite are going to kill it just fine, so it doesn't have any particularly good options of which warrior to give its back to, but at least Luca's doing his damnedest to be irritating enough to give opening if he can.

Seeing others jump out the windows to do battle, Thesarin follows suit. He pays attention to where his sword's sharp bits are as he jumps and gets ready to cut at the nearest threat to his person or an ally. In a deep roar he bellows a nearly wordless battle cry.

In truth, Killian doesn't have a clue what the hell is going on at this point, but he can definitely tell where the Bringers are. He also realizes they're outside, and he thinks he saw a certain Princess rolling her way out a certain window..to outside. Well fuck. "This is why I wear armor to bed.." he curses, as he's suddenly stomping in a dead run towards a window he senses a bad thing outside of. One foot plants on a chair, propelling him upwards, and then he came out like a wreeeecking ballllll... Tucked he dives through the window to slam into whatever bad monster (hopefully not person) is outside, trusting entirely on something other than sight as he lays into the creatures of the abyss stalking the darkness as his friends and family attempt to flee to safety.

Peregrine rolls to her feet and quickly backs up, placing Cara behind her. Something very, /very/ rude is shouted at the pair of Bringers the princesses face. /Very/ rude, though not nearly as effective as the weave of knife-play she works before them, striking like asps wherever she sees an opening-- and always, always striving to ensure neither of them can reach by her to get at the pregnant woman she guards. How is she not bleeding yet? It's probably the swearing-- some Shav charm, maybe.

The bringer at the door is big, really big. He seems like an especially powerful bringer. A bringer at the window growls upon hearing Asger's words about the next foe. The bringers outside go to engage Cara and Peregrine. The creatures seemingly amused by her scream. One seems close to trying to attack her. Tivka and Thesarin go out a window, finding themselves with two bringers before them.

Barric laughs softly as he continues to engage thee bringer at the door with Luca and Aiden, "Indeed... It does seem to be a good night for dancing. We could have chosen better dancing partners. Not even its mother could love this one."

The bringer at the door is this massive beast, but he takes fierce blows from Duke Asger, Prince Luca and Prince Barric. Mae Culler and Aiden also attack, but their blade and arrow fall short. The creature is still standing, but is gravely hurt. He turns his attention to Mae, seemingly about to attack the already injured messenger. Luca's taunting distracts the monster who goes for him instead.

Tikva, Esoka and Thesarin are all outside together, finding themselves fighting two bringers. These ones are not as massive as the one at the door, but still very scary looking with a huge maw and sharp talons. The first one goes down beneath their blows and the singer's arrow. The remaining monster tries to strike out at Tikva.

Peregrine and Killian are able to destroy one of the two bringers on them. The remaining one goes for Cara, but her guards are able to keep her safe, parrying the creature's attack.

Aiden tries not to shoot anyone and positions to get in a better place to strike true at the Bringer.

Esoka hurls herself and her sword at the Bringers, alongside Thesarin and Tikva, eyes shining in the darkness. She's not quick enough to put herself between Tikva and the Bringer. But she charges at the thing, with a vengeance, a beat later. Lips parting in a high-pitched, undulating warcry.

Peregrine wastes no time. One Bringer drops, the other is drawn up short by being confronted with Cara's guards, so the Prodigal princess whirls to grab for her kin-by-marriage's arm. She is going to speedwalk the pregant lady right out of here, fast enough to curdle the liberal amounts of black blood they're soaked in. "Calarian we go! Cara is not safe!" Such a considerate wife she is.

Tikva has left the Bar.

"The beserkers aren't the pretty ones definitely. Some gate guard deserves a serious kick in the ass for letting one of these through actually!" Luca's quipping out with some genuine irritation in that still-conversational tone to Barric even while he sees what the thing's about to do. A frantic glance to Mae and Luca's stepping in front of it declaring. "Oy fugly! Eyes over here or I will think you don't like me anymore!" After wh ich, he's being forced into a dive into a combat roll as the thing swings at him again. But it's a combat roll with purpose and he comes out of the dive near to one of its legs and is sweeping the diamondplate sabre up in a dark arc at the ligaments behind its knee, sizzling again as the black blood meets the blade in a spraying arc, intent on dropping it to one knee to bring its head down closer for other's to attack.

"Yes, all right!" Cara agrees with Peregrine, putting up her harm helplessly to block a blow that -- by the gods -- is only stopped by her guards' lucky sword.

Asger grins madly, his free hand going to draw the other axe at his side. Flipping his grip on it he raises it up and swings the wicked looking spike on it down at the bringer's neck in bid to burrow it into its side and if successful pull with his rather immense strength as he goes to bury the blade of Winter's Kiss into the beast's opposite shoulder.

Calarian curses low under his breath and finally forces himself out of the window. He races after his wife so that she can protect him, too.

Thesarin scowls as he sees the bringer strike out at Tikva, it's contact causing the prodigal to go into a rage. "Esoka, protect Tikva!" He takes his blade in two hands and begins throwing his attacks at the bringer as he roars in his old tongue, bringing what death and destruction he can onto the beast.

Killian seems to have chosen the right window, and collides into the side of the Bringer that Peregrine was fighting, catching Hawk's Talon into the creature's body and spinning, the Bringer of Dawn like a sudden new star in the night sky outside as it flashes through the creatures neck, finally dropping it to the ground. Killian rolls to his feet, and hearing Peregrine's call he laughs, "I knew we'd get along well!" he calls, moving to rear guard and engage the one that was pressing Cara and Buchanan, "Go with your mistress!" he calls to the man at arms as he fights to secure the retreat of the royals.

Aiden loses his nerve against the Bringer, since arrows are more likely to hit friend than foe at this point... Looking around, he notices a way out. There's his hole, he's gotta fly!

Mae helped take down the one Bringer, and that went smoothly enough, so she turns and rushes to the next. Dagger out, she's ready to hack and slash (or something like it). Only, when she moves in, there's a Luca taking it upon herself to defend her. "Luca!" she cries out, as he distracts the thing, and ruins her swing.

Princess Peregrine, Princess Cara, Prince Calarian and their guards escape as Killian stands bravely before the remaining bringer. He hits the creature quite hard, giving him a giant gash in his chest. The monster stays standing and tries to attack in return.

Tikva gets hit across the chest so hard that she goes falling, her ribs likely broken by the being's mace and her breathing is ragged. It doesn't look good for the redheaded lady, she will need a healer. Esoka and Thesarin stand before the remaining bringer, taking the creature who harmed Lady Riven with their powerful blows.

The bringer at the door is slaughtered by the combined efforts of Luca, Barric, Asger and Mae. The bringer was quite the beast, but they are amazing warriors. One of the two bringers at the window starts to climb inside, intending to go for Lady Lailah and the child who clings to her. The old couple hold each other. The man will need a healer when this is over.

Esoka slams her sword against the Bringer who hurt Tikva. She had a fair amount of fury behind her before, and //now// she's protecting her tribe. She fights beside Thesarin with a rhythm born from years of practice, sword working with his weapon to end the thing.

Killian is hit by the bringer's claws that dig into his right shoulder, finding a weakness in his armor. He was already injured. The Ashford Lord is in a world of pain and not looking too good.

Lailah stands up, spotting the bringer in the nearby window heading straight for her. She stands up, holding the boy close to her chest stepping back. She places him down, making sure the child stands behind her. "Asger?!" she calls out. "I don't think I'm quite ready for this yet." she says as the boy clings to her legs.

The boy cries and hides behind Lailah.

Thesarin continues to rage as he swings the blade down into the beast in a rythm with Esoka, taking turns as they beat down the beast until it stops being a plague upon them all.

Luca's on the move as soon as the big bastard went down, circling to the alley with the windows and ruckus outside of them, only to see Killian get caught. Wordlessly, he rushes at the thing's back, trying to catch it by surprise while it's busy with poor poor Kill, or at least get it to drop him.

Asger rips his spike from the bringer's neck as he hears his name called, turning around he spots the bringer trying to climb through the window. With a wicked grin he attempts to use the beasts relative immobility and vulnerability of being in a window to his advantage and bring his diamondplate axe down on the beasts neck

Killian's shoulder armor is sheared through, catching a weak point and digging in so terribly deep, a fountain of blood spraying from underneath the armor plates as he staggers back. "By the gods and on my life, you will not catch them fiend!" he cries out, reversing his grip on the sword in his left hand, an easier hold reversed on the blade. He spins and hacks, slashing and stabbing furiously at the creature as he battles through the pain, holding his ground on the path that the Grayson's withdrew upon, even as his blood stains the ground and paints it crimson, the night washing the crimson to gray.

Mae watches the Bringer go down, despite Luca ruining her swing! She huffs out, as she watches the Velenosan Prince dash off, and so she sets to pursuing him. Tag along!

Lady Tivka is carried gently inside by Thesarin. The woman moans in pain, but seems barely conscious. Asger gets between Lailah and the bringer, keeping the Lady Bisland from being attacked. His blow is powerful and the bringer is injured quite gravely. Still the creature makes it through the window and tries to attack him in return. Luca, Mae and Esoka rush to help Killian with his bringer. The Ashford guardian is gravely injured, but he keeps fighting and hits the monster. Luca and Esoka inflict serious damage on the fiend, who falls in a sickening crunch. Mae's blow falls just barely short. Barric notices that one bringer is unengaged and bravely goes to take him on, striking true. The monster stays standing, but is bleeding profusely.

Asger checked luck + dodge against difficulty 30, resulting in 26, 4 lower than the difficulty.

The one that Killian was fighting is taken down by the combined might of reinforcements, and he staggers slightly, rocking backwards, bleeding profusely, audibly wheezing still from the damage to his lungs from whatever it was the wench threw earlier. "Luca, Swords!" he calls out with a wracking strain in his voice before without any more warning than that, that shimmering blade of his is flipping through the short space towards the Lycene prince, a sign of just how much Killian trusts the old friend. Then he's charging, a bit slower than the others, to the aid of the last battlers against the remaining creatures, catching the trade from Luca if the Prince reciprocates along the way.

Esoka looks over her shoulder at Thesarin, but he seems to have Tikva well in hand. And there are still Bringers to deal with. She converges with the others to bring the one molesting Killian down. Her armor's a mess of gore right now, but she's still spry an uninjured, for her part. She half turns toward Killian, to look him over. But he's still charging, so that'll do. She goes as swift as her legs and carry her to aid Barric in his clash.

Asger gets hit by the by the bringer, its weapon finding a chink in his armor and drawing blood, but still the northern man just laughs and shakes his head. His axe coming down to meet the bringer's neck again because obviously one blow was not enough to do the deed...So he brings it down again, and again and again and again, hacking at the the bringer laughing all the while, his armor and face covered in the blood of his foes.

Luca checked dexterity + medium wpn against difficulty 15, resulting in 44, 29 higher than the difficulty.

Luca's grinning fiercely as they cut down the creature, and all the more so when Killian's gleaming Bringer of Dawn is flying through the air. Luca's done this before apparently with Kill, as he's flipping his own gleaming steel sabre back to the man hilt first while he takes up the alaricite in same motion. Even doing that switch-up, he's growling out with guy-friendship sorta love. "Stay upright you ass, and go keep Barri alive!" With that though, the CHampion prince now double-armed with diamondplate and alaricite is diving throught he window inside again, stabbing both blades in sync towards the one fighting Asger, seeing if he can't cause it to splatter on boiling effect alone of the magical metals.

Mae's attack on the Bringer is against falling short. Maybe hitting it, maybe just glancing off thick skin. She seems to be getting frustrated, and so she abruptly decides to turn off. "Stop following me!" she blurts, at Luca. Who she'd been following. Then she turns and darts back inside, quick then she is. All so she can go to Barric's aid, and focus on /that/ Bringer, instead.

Dame Esoka, Mae Culler and the bleeding Lord Killian all go to assist Prince Barric with the bringer on him. The creature tries to attack Barric, but the sword of Grayson is able to dart away from his talons. The four attack, all slicing into the creature with skill. The bringer is taken down, falling at their feet.

Asger is doing great damage to his bringer, despite having had taken a wound. Luca comes to his aid and together they two are able to take down the bringer. Tikva is injured, but safe in Thesarin's care. The child is clinging to Lailah's legs.

Esoka's first thought is to check on Tikva. And she goes to do that, breathing heavier as the rush of the fight wears off.

Mae checked wits + medicine against difficulty 15, resulting in 22, 7 higher than the difficulty.

Thesarin has left the Bar.

Asger looks elated as his blades find home and more blood splashes, but that elation quickly drops to a scowl as the pristine view of his kill is suddenly marred by blades somehow ending up in it. With a grunt, Asger buries his axe blade in the head of the bringer and turns to face Luca, gesturing to the now dead bring "The fuck was that Luca, you just come waltzing over here in your fancy as pants and shiny phallic overcompensation and ya steal ma kill." The northern man kicks at the dead bringer and points at it "Ya see there, his head is fallin off, like I'm surprised it is still hangin' on it's that gone, and yet ya just come on over here and poke poke slash slash thrust thrust and ya still mah kill."

Lailah lets the sword fall to the floor with a loud clatter. She falls to her knees and draws a deep breath. When the last bringer falls, she allows herself a moment to just acknowledge what she'd just lived through. The little boy is still holding to her, and so she wraps her arms around him in truth and holds him close, breathing deeply and keeping her eyes off the carnage all around her.

Luca looks at the one with the half-melted back and probalby mostly melted head fallen between he and Asger and grimaces a little. "Abyss Asg, it was already half dead wasn't it? Ah well, thought I was doing a solid. You still owe me that blackout drinking adventure and can't do that if you get dead-like. Still. Sorry I suppose." As he's turning he adds, with that wry lopsided smirk he's so prone to. "Beautiful new axe by the by." With that, kill-stealing Luca goes out to the window to check on Killian and get his sword back to him, then make rounds to ensure there's nothing else out there. He looks hale and hearty as before the battle. Not even any blood on him, from allies or Bringer and never touched amidst the fight. In point of fact, he seems more invigorated than anything.

Esoka has left the Bar.

Killian swaps swords back with Luca, looking like refried dead guy as he does, smiling at the Prince. "Well done," he compliments as he spots all the carnage inside.. "Oh man.." he says as he eyes the inside of the Badger, "I'm so glad I don't have to clean that up.." he says quietly before he looks around. "I'm..uh. Going to go make sure that the Princesses and such made it back safe. And..I think..find a pillow or somethingg. Maybe just a quiet space of floor.." he apologizes, already heading off to seek bed.

Barric has left the Large Table.

Mae runs back to the aid of Barric, and helps the man, along with Killian, cut down that Bringer. Fallen, she huffs out a breath, then stops to look around. Yes, it's a mess. A disaster, really. She frowns, and then quickly wipes her blade before she tucks it into her belt. She heads over to try to help that poor old man. "Are you okay? Let me take a look..." And the girl that knows all but nothing about medicine gets to work!

Killian has left the Bar.

Asger cracks a grin at Luca as he retrieves his axe "Aye, she is a beautiful axe and now ya are gonna buy the first five rounds of drinks after." he wrinkles his nose and gestures to ghe mangled corpse "This."
