Went for a walk in the woods the other day. A long long walk. Just to clear my head. I missed it. I miss being where it doesn't feel so crowded and I can just run and just be...but I remember we have a job to do and my family needs me. So I come back because sometimes there are more important things.

I am getting sick of all of this heat. Seriously, how can it be this hot all the time. If I knew if it was going to be this hot, I would have waited until the fall to come back to Arx. I would have had at least one good winter to acclimate back to this weather. I would become nocturnal for the rest of the Summer, but it still amazingly hot during the night too.

After my brother's heroic actions, here's hoping he listens and will continue his trainings. Though I'm proud he killed the crab and the crab didn't catch him.

Relationship Note on Drake

I ought to follow up with Drake again... a man like that likely has need of some sort of equipment, sooner than later.

You know, it's likely rude to gloat, even in writing... but I'm really quite pleased with myself this week. I didn't meet many new people, but I was quite successful financially...

Seeing so many people I adore and have not seen in a long time at the Keaton Summer Celebration was a tonic I did not know I needed so much.

Great party you threw, by the way, Baelor. Awesome idea!

The last couple weeks have passed in a blur of emotions and nervous excitement. Gwenna and Jorah are doing well, many thanks to all who expressed their congratulations. Every time I close my eyes, though, it seems the boy wakes and has us all up A couple of times, I have fallen asleep holding him just so I could make sure Gwenna got some rest. Lack of sleep, though, is temporary, and we are all thrilled with this new addition to the Redrain family. I look forward to many upcoming playdates over the years, particularly with Jorah's Greenmarch cousins. Also, sleep. I look forward to sleep.

The celebration of the Under the Sea Ball was a good time in my opinion. A practice run as we work on educating the compact regarding Isles traditions that have little too nothing to do with the practice of Thralldom.

I do not expect to slide through these waters without scandal, but scandal is a way of life for me, a way to grow and change and become something more than I already am.

I'll listen to the criticism, and I will do so with open ears, ever seeking out new knowledge, new information.

A Duchess, a Mirrormask, and so many other things. Yet first and foremost a citizen of the Compact.

The moon is bright tonight. There is no need for a lantern. Again I am reminded of how the Gods provide for us, if we simply take the time to recognize Their gifts.

I still wonder how people stay atop their messengers without a full staff for it. Some days I can scarce move without tripping over a courier.

Hmm I wonder if many explorers have gone north to the everwinter. I would like to journey there sometime. I did enjoy that mammoth hunt last time I ventured to the northlands.

Relationship Note on Martino

What would I do without you my beloved Hawk?

You make everyday be the most endearing and entertaining.

I'm glad you did not drown in the lowers nor were you eaten by that crablamader during our little river adventure.

What a privilege it is to not only witness but play some small part in a remarkable accomplishment every now and then. The work done by and for the Lodge of Petrichor has been quite astonishing, and I earnestly hope that it will be of assistance to people throughout the Compact. And in this first flush of the news... I don't think that I have ever been so widely recognised in the streets of Arx!

The wool has been pulled over the eyes of House Keaton. They believe things that are not true.

I did not plan nor ask for the Keaton Summer Celebration.

Today I got my best new dress on and went out to have my first real noble ball experience! It was a little bit scary. If it wasn't for the fact that I met a few people at poetry night I would have been overwhelmed by everything!

At first I thought perhaps I would be totally outclassed, but everyone was so nice and kind. And being able to tell a story does come in handy!

You did well Leola. Very well indeed and you are an inspiration to what those who worship Petrichor should aspire to.
