Relationship Note on Venturo

With recent tragedy weighing so heavily, it is unspeakably therapeutic to have something bright on the horizon. The recent report from Venturo on Port Venture's progress to date and the development projects already underway have lifted my spirits considerably. I am so proud of what he's achieved and so eager to see what we're able to build together. Six years of collaboration, and it feels like we still have so much ahead of us.

I might even, in only this one obviously emotional moment, find myself inclined to call myself lucky.

Direction. Purpose. I never expected to find it and I certainly never would have thought I wanted it. Now that I have it? It's all-consuming.

We approach the day, each morning brings us closer. The list of allies grows and those that are willing to help House Tessere is both humbling and admirable. Those of you that read this: you know who you are. And you have my thanks from now until my last day.

Met a mercenary of late who called herself Mad, and called a knife the perfect weapon on account of having a point and two edges. It weren't a bad knife, bit skinny, but no guard or hilt worth mentioning. Just a thin blade.

She had to know that swords have a point and two edges, as well? Mayhap that's why she were called Mad.

The summer's dwindling fast and there's yet to be a second running of the cows. To think I've spent much of the summer preparing Bessie and Astra for a second attempt to capture the crown in the Bovine Grand Prix.

Am I the only one who misses such things? Alas.

Relationship Note on Calla

This woman is something special. She has seen some hardship, and she is very different from the rest of her family. Facing life alone I know she is realizing that she is not alone truly. And being different isn't a negative, it can be quite the positive. She is intelligent, a thinker. She has a strong heart that is blossoming.

Am I in love with her? Yes. That much is obvious and true. I support her in her endavours, and in finding a marriage. I want to see her have children even more than she does! Then I can spoil them and we can eat treats together, play games, have pillowfights, and play chase the goose around the pond! I must get to them before Marquis Cirroch to teach them Cake is for eating, not for throwing!

The Baroness of Red is strong, stronger than she realizes. She will run her barony with strength, intelligene, and will lead them into a new strength. One does not have to be on the battlefield themselves to lead, elevating those of worth and support I think will bring you the best support and not only build upon what your ancestors and family have done, but elevate it, increase it.

I am so proud of you, and I'm seeing you grow, become confident. Don't doubt yourself - ever, but listen to others. A plan can be crafted but always can be tweaked, sometimes those with experience have knowledge and insight you don't even know you seek. I used to think No no I want this, or I know this, or I just want it my way! As a bratty young girl I led my own life astray. Your a more knowledgable person than I was that much I think is absolutely true. Being open to the advice, and experience of others is something I've seen you do.

I think your wonderful, and beautiful, and swell. I'll support you, and encourage you, and perhaps when your not looking tickle you as well. But don't tickle me, beause I'm ticklish you see. If you do it too much I might fall down and pee. It's not really fair, really it's not. But make it up to you somehow I will have to do, because your stronger than you realize in all things you do.

Relationship Note on Calista

Tor has no rivals in beauty, but some aspect of it suffuses the Fidante Villa of Arx. I had one of the most pleasurable days in recent memory swimming and conversing with the guests of Duchess Calista and Duchess Grazia.

I half suspect my cousin Ciro can still be found in that paradise.

Relationship Note on Ciro

A special man had a special day.

He danced (carefully) with Lady Medeia, with me and Calla. I might have fallen on my tushy making it feel a little less cushy. But he made me feel comfy. He made me a chemise to swim in, which was quite nice. Very Lycene, and I quite love it! Lycene's know how to live! Light, airy, fun to look at clothing. And you can usually climb a tree in them.

We had a bit of a gruff missive exchange going, but I met him a bit by chance due to a mutual interest friend. I do think he's pretty special. He might be a Lord, but he also is Lord of the dance! With a wiggle, and a jiggle, and a flippity twirl. That's how I saw him on the dance floor with grace and flow and dancy terms I don't know.

There's a softness to him, and he keeps feeding me treats. I'm not going to say no, to a fig and a cobbler. I just open my mouth to become the gobbler!

Nomnom nom, yum yum yum. Though I've found eating treats is more fun with a friend.

I hope you felt special on your very special day. Filled with loves and hugs, dancing as long as you might! Remember to take it easy or a sprain you'll experience in a place out of sight.

This is a wish of wellwishes to you, I hope and I pray that you felt special on your day. A hug, a kiss and all things nice. With Baroness Calla, you both made for me a wonderfully great night!

Relationship Note on Alarissa

I had the fortune of being able to recommend a meeting to the Princess, though she is often busy. I got to recommend her character. As someone strong, whom has gone from grace, to graceful strength and will. Thrax is strong, and it is partially from her leadership and hand upon it.

I may not always make you smile Princess, but I'm proud of you and the things you've done. Thank you for being you, for the sacrifices you have made. They are not for naught, they are not to be forgot.

Relationship Note on Neve

The Lady Nevey.

I feel honored to have been given a chance to glimpse who this woman truly is.
To see her care and compassion first hand. To see the smiles she brings to
those who she encounters.

Her laughter and happiness infectious, Her warmth endearing and her beauty without question.
Her hugs comforting and the playful kisses thrilling.
Without a doubt the woman is one of a kind even in a place such as this.

I do look forward to getting to know this sweet and affectionate woman
who seems to enjoy sweet treats over sweet words.
And exploring the road of friendship and our similar interests.

I find it intriguing, Scholar, that so many claim to have done so much for the Liberators, and yet we remain so few. That so many claim to have given so much, and yet their names appear not at all on the registers. Come, brothers and sisters of freedom and choice; emerge from your shadows, and let us work together to strike the chains that bind so many.

Relationship Note on Damik

I have waited, to gather my thoughts, in the hopes that the words will come, and take away the pain. Or at least lessen the sting.

Prince Damik was an impressive man, and to see him and Lady Monique together, as they came out of the chambers where they'd had their private discussion was a sight - and when I saw their expressions, I felt hope blossom in my chest. I witnessed firsthand the might he and his soldiers brought to bear at Sungreet. And I thanked the gods they were on our side.

I never did spend much time with him, beyond that. Though I was happy for my friend, and eager to see how the two of them would change each other, as I witnessed the first spark of Lagoma's touch between them.

I mourn our loss, Prince Damik'uhl'daja. But I celebrate that you were with us. I still carry hope that the fires sparked on your ship that day will still rise into a mighty conflagration.

And while I am no soldier, I will strive to forever remind people why we fight. And that we have more in common than not.

Mother,

You would be proud. I fought back. I lured my captor into a false sense of security by feigning a fright so great I fainted dead away. My compatriots were well and able to take the situation in hand, no doubt due to the quick thinking of a distraction on my part.

The truth of the matter is that you can only lose what you cling to. There will always be an irrevocable distance between the goodbye and the letting go, but there will inevitably come a moment when you realize that the old you is just a shadow of the reality of what you have become and you embrace that which is with your whole heart; when you let the winds of change blow through your body like a northern gale and you allow them to scour away what was; when you embrace your farewells and let the fire burning inside take you where it wants to go.

When you become the fire and leave ashes in your wake.

I thought I’d lost the cat for good. It had been gone nearly four days. Perhaps it had ventured to the grey forest to be with its fellow savage beasts. Or finally had gotten so sick of Scarf it couldn’t bear to be here a moment more.

No. None of that. It was just accumulating its trophies of mice and birds in a hole it’d dug under a shrubbery in the courtyard.

At least they’re not in the house like usual. Astrid may stop worrying for her feline friend for awhile more.

I tried to get out about the city a bit, even though I still find summer in Arx a bit too warm for my tastes. When I heard that whiskeys from the Sanna estate would be paired with some sparring? Well, hard thing to resist. As tends to be the case, I wasn't able to stay long, but I did witness a bout between Raven, The Blackheart, and Sir Amund. And what a spar that was! Almost makes me wish I could wield a sword. The whiskey was exceptional and I was graciously offered an invitation to the next family dinner. I may have hinted about politely crashing it before that, I admit.

I attended the celebratory event for Lord Ciro Seraceni, though I don't really know him properly just yet. We exchanged a couple of messengers about endeavors he hopes to work on, so I thought to catch up with him at an event held in his name. Brilliant deduction on my part, that. Kidding aside, I'm glad I went even though I did not get the chance to speak with the guest of honor.

Instead, I lucked into spending time with some of my most favorite people in the city! As well as made a new acquaintance, and have plans to catch up with at least a couple of them soon over tea. While duties kept me from staying as long as I might have liked, and I shied away from dancing, it was an absolutely wonderful time.
