Lady Runa Hawkmour
Lies cannot succeed without some perception of honesty
Description: Slim, pale with a dark black cascade of hair. Inquisitive looking, whose grey eyes are not so much sharp, but interested in what she can draw in. She's approaching her thirties and has taken pains to delay the ravages of time. Culturing her best assets, keeping fit, and having enough grace to appear confident and capable. A maturity and composure encompasses her slender form, learned from years of being around nobility and having to deal with commoners. The best and worst of both worlds has tempered her, and left their mark in how she can navigate both.
Personality: Inquisitive and bright, this woman has a hunger for delving into secrets and mysteries. Forgetting meals for the opportunity to peel away layers of obscuring detail, pursuing threads dangling tantalizingly within reach. A wry sense of humour that is threatened by the sort of experiences that could make someone jaded.
Background: Lady Runa has always been one that wanted to tease or pry more details out of a story or tale. A true account or far fetched fib, sometimes the story just isn't enough. Growing up, she was fostered within House Fidante. From the Harkmour family, there happened to be an opportune marriage with one of Prospero's sisters that meant Runa had a reason to visit his Lordship's House. And after a very fine visit, there was an opportunity to have Runa stay within his home, at a young and moldable age, and benefit from a proper education. Both Runa and Propero had a chance to grow up within each others company. She benefitted greatly, and was a doting and devoted childhood friend who felt all the more important if she could help share a secret or suppress a bad word flung in his direction. This type of protectiveness bloomed into a more zealous sort of behavior, where there was a proactive stance taken with those that tried to sidle up to the Lord. Usually with descretion, she would inquire after those that sought to find an inroad with Lord Prospero. While the Lord no doubt had many protectors, she would take in the larger picture that included more than simply gossip. With her knowledge of politics and court, and how tongues can wag, she would ferret out truth and lies and hound people that troubled her. This grew into an occupation to become an investigator that was not above solving problems with more than just her wits. Of a lower social rank, she would dirty her hands to keeps others clean. While having an extra helper along for the truely distasteful needs, the sight of blood has never made her faint. She comes from just enough good breeding to require respect, but is not so high that she cannot fulfill a physical challenge. Some may say that her personality may have been the thing to drive away the arranged marriage for her. On the outside, the threat of being childless and without an official union to a fine man doesn't seem to have bothered her at all.
