Luna, the sweet, studious assistant arrives, following Carita.

Yasmine has joined the High Booth.

Rook, accompanied by his lovely partner, ascends the high booth to sit and watch the House of Solace's event and its participants. The Crown Minister seems in a good mood today, for one reason or another, and murmurs animatedly to Yasmine as he gestures to the field.

Today the tournament grounds are decorated with pennants with Solace and East Light. Sections for a number of games have been set up and Cora is set up and checking each location as people arrive. As people show up there are tables set aside with food and drink, seating, and just general hang out space.

Having arrived way too early to watch the proceedings get set up, Edward stands out of the way of everything until the proceedings are about to begin and then he is an obvious fixture by the beverage tent...for obvious reasons: the rum.

Yasmine carries a sling over her body that she cradles close, indulging Rook with a grin as she accompanies him to the chosen spot. She settles into a seat and lifts her brows, murmuring something in response to whatever Rook says.

2 Leary House Guards, Lite, a little blue canary arrive, following Corbit.

Striding into the Tournament Grounds with his assortment of Leary Guards, a scribe and a Northern Hawk Owl comes the silent Marquis Fairen, tall and lithe as he moves. Spying Edward there, he moves towards the Baron, his guards following along with him until he is within range of Edward. "Baron Stormbreak. Good to see you. How is the married life treating you?"

Edward has joined the the Beverage Tent.

Fairen has joined the the Beverage Tent.

Edward lifts his glass as Fairen comes over to him, "Marquis Leary! A welcome sight. I had hoped to run into you or visit you soon." he responds, "Married life. Everyone asks me that." he chuckles, "Things are going well. As they are intended to at least." of course his tone lowers as the Marquis gets closer...

Thena, event hosting veteran if not enthusiast, is busy taking care of the things Coraline can't get to. A number of Solace knights and acolytes are getting bossed around as they help with setup and attendees begin to arrive.

Bashira has been here, she's just been her usual quiet self. The sailor is dressed in her usual leathers and hanging about watching the happenings until things get officially going. She's a member of East Light, sure, but she's still a little people shy sometimes.

Corbit walks into the tournament grounds, he looks around as he tners and spots Coraline, "Hey Cora!" he says and performs a walk by hugging as he makes his way to the drink tent and the whiskey, nodding to Fairen and Edward.

Corbit has joined the the Beverage Tent.

Smiling contently at the Baron, Fairen moves into a seat next to him, with his owl still perched up on his shoulder. Listening to what the man has to say, his smile is unwavering. Then Edward leans in to speak in a lower tone to him and he nods his head along with that.

Sparte is here to show his support, has been for a bit from the looks of it. He is sitting off by himself, watching the people file in to participate.

Edward gives a nod to Corbit when he appears by way of raising his glass and for a moment he glances to Fairen and he speaks with him before he pauses and he waves to Bashira to motion her over and then he looks back at the two at the tent with him.

Archeron is excitingly at an event - though perhaps looking more stern than excited as the Tyde lord tries to work out what is going on. Helpfully he has brought a bow. And a very large axe. Because you need these things in life. Even more excitedly though, Archeron has brought the lovely Amari. He inclines his head in a small bow to her "Where would you like to sit, Lady Amari?"

Bashira has joined the the Beverage Tent.

Siobhan says, ":waves."

Amari arrives with Archeron, arm slipped through his and pleasant smile on her face. "I had to pull the arrow out and there was blood everywhere, so I'm sure he's going to be left scarred. I had this grand tapestry made and sent it to him as an apology, but I don't think that's entirely sufficient." She's telling her taller companion, in a casual, conversational tone of voice. Nevermind the subject matter, it's all just another day in the life of the Keaton. At his question, she realizes that she's here, where they intended to go and has a look around. "In the stands, over there?" She decides, with a vague gesture towards the general seating. "Where's-?" She spots Coraline setting things up and lifts a hand to wave.

4 Thrax Guards arrives, following Fatima.

Bashira manages to catch Edward wave and the young woman returns it and heads that way. She's got a slight limp, but she's playing it off as she approaches, "Baron and Marquis." she dips her head to them.

Monique arrives with very little fanfare, looking withdrawn and paler than usual. She murmurs something low to Coraline in passing before disappearing into the crowd and finding a quiet space.

Jordan strides into the arena with his full shiny diamondplate suit, his swords sheathed at his left, the mace on the right. Offering a bow towards the assembled royalty and nobility, he strides over to the sand pit.

Keski, a nervous disciple of Petrichor, Aletta, an even more nervous disciple of Petrichor arrive, following Brigida.

Sparte has joined the Quiet Booth.

Someone a touch unfamiliar to him is greeting him, and Fairen waves over at Bashira with a cheerful smile on his lips. As he spies Amari, he peers over at her and waves at her as well.

Fatima arrives with what might be called minimal fuss, given she is a fan of fuss in general. There's still a bit of a show of her guards walking in pairs before and ahead of her, and maybe even a herald to announce her. Because why not? Though clearly, she's not here to participate, and far more interested in hunting down her cousin to support her in all of this. "Do you see Cora?" she wonders of one of them, glancing here and there.

Carita's been here since well before the tournament began, of course, in an effort to help with whatever might need her Darkwater touch -- which is likely not particularly much. There's a smile Fairen's way, when she spies him, before she makes her way to the Consessions Tent.

Siobhan moves along with a certain swagger in her gait that suggests a big personality, long experience on the sea, or a physical ailment. Possibly all three. She doesn't seem to have any particular path in mind, and she stops to look at the flowers, though smelling them might be a stretch for the brunette lass. She's taking the long way around, lips pursed as she whistles a lively tune - and not always quietly.

As Carita greets him, Fairen perks up and waves over at her. Then he beckons for her to join him, but mostly keeps his conversation in a low tone with those at the tent with him.

Looking around at the quiet words, Cora smiles warmly to Monique and speaks softly back before waving at everyone she recognizes, which is nearly everyone. Those who are helping are kept fed, watered, or boozed as per preference. Cora looks around and looks like she is trying to scrape up the nerve to actually bring attention on herself, she might almost be there too!

Corbit is talking with people at the drinks tent and glances over to Coraline before jogging over to her real quick and saying something quietly before making his way back to the tent.

Anya, the cool as an ice cube Champion apprentice, Renn, the mousy, scholarly brunette, Morgan, a roguish looking gentleman arrive, following Caspian.

Coming in with a group of people to observe things, Aksel makes his way towards the beverage tent to snag himself a drink. It's done quickly with polite nods here and there before he's moving off to the side to watch the crowd.

Caspian has joined the the Beverage Tent.

"You could try taking lessons, Amari. I am not a /terrible/ archer, you know. I would be happy to teach you. Though I might actually be a terrible teacher. Also no shooting me while I sleep. I don't like the idea of dying in my bed. Family weakness you know. We all die a bit too much." Archeron nods though to Amari and makes his way towards the stands he thinks she gestured to "Oh, and you could use training arrows like those I showed you. And well. At least he is alive to get your apology? Anything you can walk away from is fine. Or limp as the case may be." Archeron of course isn't finding this funny. That smile is just for...reasons.

Archeron has joined the General Seating.

Monique has joined the the Concessions Tent.

Cabbit, a nub-tailed tabby kitten, Laudine, a stern middle-aged maidservant arrive, following Tabitha.

Cabbit, a nub-tailed tabby kitten have been dismissed.

Making a hand gesture to all her helpers to show it is time, Cora strides to a little stand and clears her throat, "Ladies and Gentlemen, thank you for joining Solace and East Light today on their first joint fund raising event. Donations are not required but are highly appreciated and payment is accepted in any form be it silver or writ. But as I said, it is not required to enjoy the festivities. Food and drink is for everyone and our prizes for the games today are small works of wearable art, they are worth the effort trust me on that one. Our first game is a foot race and it will be a difficult and long route. Those of you who feel fast /and/ with a great deal of endurance come on up." Cora indicates a starting line for those who wish to participate.

Amari has joined the General Seating.

Archeron has joined the line.

Siobhan lifts her head as the clarion call of an announcement begins. She even lets up whistling. It takes a moment, but she manages to get a sight line on the speaker, and when the race is announced, she grins broadly. Look, the woman rolls more than she walks, but there she is, rolling right on over to the starting line.

Siobhan has joined the line.

Aksel has joined the line.

Fatima continues to navigate the crowds, and raises a hand to wiggle her fingers in a greeting to Carita as well. And in fact, after having gone a slight way further along, she pauses and turns back to follow where she last saw the other woman. Cora will probably be busy, so it's a good excuse! Assuming the other woman doesn't rush off to join the races. Well, either way really, she ends up in the tents. Watching people run is hard work, and requires refreshment!

Caspian has joined the line.

Fatima has joined the the Beverage Tent.

Caspian has left the the Beverage Tent.

Caspian has joined the Field.

With little fan fare, Aksel goes to the line indicated. He finishes up his whiskey and hands the glass off to a helper. He looks ready to go.

Amari returns Fairen's wave with one in kind and a bright smile and there's clearly a moment there where she considers changing course and joining everyone in the beverage tent, if only to satisfy her curiosity. But, she goes instead with Archeron to the stands, brow rising, "You're really terribly concerned about me killing or injuring you in your sleep. I promise I won't. Especially not with arrows." She settles into a nice spot just in time for Coraline to announce the starting event. There's a moment she clearly considers it, but she's hardly attired for a footrace. "Lessons might help." She has to admit.

Aksel has joined the Field.

Brigida walks in with her nervous attendants on her heels, pausing to look over the tournament grounds with both hands on the knobbly bit at the end of her walking stick. She sweeps her gaze over the gathered people, expression tightening at something she sees. Or doesn't see, perhaps. She pauses to listen to Coraline's announcement, giving a firm nod, then keeps on. Walking past the growing line, not being much of one for foot races, she heads over to size up the concessions on offer.

Siobhan has joined the Field.

Edward waves to Caspian as he arrives and departs, "Good luck!"

Carita has joined the the Concessions Tent.

Brigida has joined the the Beverage Tent.

Archeron reaches with his finger to gently tap-boop Amari on the nose in a moment of frivolity - rare as they are - before he gets back to his feet, only having just settled "Well. I am slightly worried that you have apparently ranked weapons already in order of those you won't be murdering me with the most. But. I should probably go and join in the sports and let everyone beat me, hrm? Margot says that I should be more fun." And so he goes to put his name down. One lanky noble for runnings please.

"Don't you hurt yourself you just got well, Caspian!" Bashira shouts after her brother.

Jordan opts to go to the beverage tent instead of running this time around. He's in plate, after all. It's a hassle to run in plate. Waving to the contestants, he calls out, "Good luck!"

Jordan has joined the the Beverage Tent.

Monique has joined the line.

Maxene, Pellinor, 4 Thrax Guards, Honey Snuggle, a Velenosian Angora cat arrive, following Alarissa.

Tabitha's here. When did she slip in? Who knows, but slip in she did, behind some other trail of random stragglers who recently ambled into the tournament grounds. With nods and perfectly-executed little curtsies to this person and that as she moves by, the artist finds herself somewhere quiet and out of the way to stand. All quiet, like.

Monique has left the the Concessions Tent.

Striding to the line, Cora raises her arm and in her best parade ground voice says, "Ready, set, GO!"

Archeron checked dexterity + athletics at difficulty 15, rolling 12 higher.

Caspian gives a wave over to both Bashira and Edward, smiling to them before he turns back to the group at the field and sets himself up at the starting line. And when Coraline announces the start, he begins to run! Run run run!

Caspian checked dexterity + athletics at difficulty 15, rolling 44 higher.

Aksel checked dexterity + athletics at difficulty 15, rolling 35 higher.

Amari wrinkles her booped nose at Archeron, but holds off on murdering him for the time being. He's awake, so he's safe. She instead shoos him along to go be more fun, and lose the race, "I put a lot of thought into things, so, I think that's why my archery suffers." Overthinking. "Go, I'll cheer you on." She further encourages, smiling and looking distinctly non-murderous.

Siobhan checked dexterity + athletics at difficulty 15, rolling 0 higher.

Alarissa slipsher way into the tournament grounds, a glance for the current ongoings and then the stands. familuar faces means she lifts a hand to wriggle fingers Carita's, Fatima's evenn before making her way to flop refally in thehigh booth.

Alarissa has joined the High Booth.

Monique checked dexterity + athletics at difficulty 15, rolling 23 higher.

Aksel lines up at the starting spot, giving a thumbs up to Caspian at something that was said down there. When the signal is given, Aksel takes off running. He doesn't look around at those who he is running against, solely focused at what lies ahead.

Go? She just got here! Siobhan's shoulders hunch towards her ears, her jaw thrusting forward in a scowl - and then everyone else is running. Oh! Right, GO. The brunette takes off behind everyone else, her gait an odd thing that still succeeds in propelling her forward. Somehow. She'll just follow these other people, until she gets an idea where to run to.

Monique has some frustrations to work off, it's clear. She lines up at the start to do just that. She's not very focused though, coming in middle of the pack.

Aaron has joined the the Beverage Tent.

Run. Run. Run. Run. Run. Caspian is a speciem at peek physical shape, so when the man runs he really runs, getting ahead of the pack right off the bat, long, lean legs carrying him forward with speed as he zooms through the corse.

Archeron begins the race - but Archeron was always more of a forest runner than a sprinter. Get to where you need to go and still be fresh enough to shoot something in a soft delicate part, that's the way he is. He starts his run decently, but certainly not at a strong sprint, letting others overtake him as he instead focuses on a nice rhythm, hoping to make it up as the race continues. Of course, it would have also been a good idea to leave the large wood axe out of the equation but, then what would happen if he needed wood for some purpose. Like for sheep.

Harlex arrives at the grounds after a good deal of deliberation. He considers the space and concedes on the concession tent, unable to choose for a moment between booze and food. The thick, mistreated umbra long cloak moves behind him and--as no gloomy swordsman is complete without--a pair of hilts protrude from over the left shoulder.

Harlex has joined the the Concessions Tent.

Siobhan checked dexterity + athletics at difficulty 30, rolling 13 lower.

Monique checked dexterity + athletics at difficulty 30, rolling 22 higher.

Aksel checked dexterity + athletics at difficulty 30, rolling 38 higher.

Caspian checked dexterity + athletics at difficulty 30, rolling 3 higher.

Archeron checked dexterity + athletics at difficulty 30, rolling 5 higher.

It seems that Caspian is not as good in physical shape as he had hoped. Perhaps the illness he suffered from has left him weaker? Maybe something he ate? Or maybe he just didn't pace himself right, because now he is slowing down much more then that orginal first burst. He lets out a playful 'Hey!' as Aksel passes him!

Bashira was in conversation at the beverage tent, but the sailor gives a moments pause when a familiar for graces the grounds and she looses the smile on her face. There's a moment of looking over Harlex and then she turns back to the rest of the people she was talking to with a weaker smile.

Monique continues running exactly as she has been, heedless of everything around her and just exorcising demons and energy all at the same time.

It takes the Northman sometime to get up to speed, but when he does, boy look out. As he passes Capsian, Aksel flashes a grin and gives a thumbs up, before continuing to book it down the course.

2 Grayson House Guards, Elizabetta, a disapproving lady-in-waiting, Lily, an aloof lady-in-waiting, Clark, an exasperated guard arrive, following Sabella.

The good news about being in dead last is that when Siobhan's crazy gait finally unravels, there's no one to trip over her. Something buckles when it shouldn't, or doesn't hinge when it should. Regardless, the shipbuilder eats the ground, falling headlong and getting some impressive distance. She grunts and wheezes, rolls herself upright, and then continues to limp in the same general direction as the others. It doesn't look much different than her usual rolling gait, come to think of it. She never said she'd cross the line /first/, after all.

Atreke, a severe-looking scribe arrives, following Rinel.

Rinel has joined the Quiet Booth.

Slow and steady wins the race? Well, it certainly puts Archeron in the middle of a bunch of other people and not really winning. But still, one foot in front of the other as he jogs along - and hopefully he will survive to the end. Maybe his lithe frame is storing up energy for a late sprint?

Aaron has left the the Beverage Tent.

Siobhan checked dexterity + athletics at difficulty 45, rolling 20 lower.

Caspian checked dexterity + athletics at difficulty 45, rolling 27 higher.

Archeron checked dexterity + athletics at difficulty 45, rolling 13 lower.

Monique checked dexterity + athletics at difficulty 45, rolling 4 higher.

Aksel checked dexterity + athletics at difficulty 45, rolling 10 lower.

Not content to lose, Caspian pushes himself in this last leg of the race, when many people are getting too tired to run Caspian leans forward, pumps his arms, and sprints for the finish line. "This! Win! Is Mines!" But does he cross in first?!

Races, it turns out, are much easier when you can shoot the people in front of you. But stringing and firing a bow on the run seems hard. Just as Archeron ponders there, he stumbles a little, his focus and gait disrupted, and he drops back in the field - not quite having the energy to hang with them all. He finally crosses the line but then quickly flops. Not his finest hour!

Aaron meanwhile has been meandering about, as one does at such festivities. The latest sighting of him is as he's leaving the beverage tent, nursing a clay mug of something that is doubtless refreshing. He picks his way along the sideline of the field where the race is being held, attention veering between the race and those watching it as he makes his way along. One of the racers takes a fall and he winces sympathetically, but gives a sharp whistle of encouragement as she gets up and keeps right on. As the racers near the finish line, he leans down to thump the flat of his hand against a leg, since his other hand is maintaining tasty beverage and all.

Rook has left the High Booth.

Yasmine has left the High Booth.

1 Silvershields leaves, following Yasmine.

5 Silvershields, Jeeves, a sophisticated valet, Yasmine leave, following Rook.

Tabitha is overheard praising Solace.

Sabella is late to the party, but that doesn't mean she's not cheering for...whatever it is that's happening, "You can do it!" She calls out to those that are trailing behind, before wincing at Siobhan's fall and subsequent limp, "...impressive recovery!" She shouts encouragingly, clapping for Caspian as he crosses the finish line, "Great job, Master Caspian!" She glances around to others in the crowd, "Was that a sanctioned event or is something chasing them and we should all be a little more alarmed?"

1 Silvershields arrives, following Yasmine.

5 Silvershields, Jeeves, a sophisticated valet, Yasmine arrive, following Rook.

Rook has joined the High Booth.

Monique doesn't stop until she crosses the finish line, and when she does, it's with a wince for the sore muscles she has and will have later for her tireless efforts. She does, however, look mildly more cheerful for it.

Tabitha is overheard praising Order of east light.

Things were going swimingly for Aksel. He built up a lead and then, right towards the end a pebble - no boulder - okay, pebble, that caused him to trip and stumble and it's not until he's about five feet that the Northman decides to jump for it. He slides across the finish line. In what position? WHO knows.

Jeeves, a sophisticated valet arrives, delivering a message to Yasmine before departing.

A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Tabitha before departing.

There's a whistle and various shouts of encouragement, and Siobhan glances at the sidelines with a look of suspicion that quickly flashes to one of recognition. There, the bearded man with the mug of something. "Aaron! Hey, Aaron!" She waves her hands over her head, and starts angling her limping jog in his direction. "Hey, it's me, Shiv!" Really, it'll catch on if she keeps using it. "Remember me? Hey, fancy seeing you here, huh?" She's not leaving much room for the man to respond, because she glances down the course and sees other people still running. Oh, right. "Hey, I have to run," she says, turning to jog backwards as she points at him, "I'll find you later!" Aaron, you lucky, lucky man. Turning, Siobhan continues the race, coming in the livliest dead last one ever did see.

Amari applauds for Archeron, and all the racers actually, but he gets the extra enthusiastic applause even if he lost. Yaaay, anyway! Hearing a question, she turns and flashes a smile at Sabella, "It was a race, Your Highness. Everything is just fine."

Tabitha has joined the the Concessions Tent.

Sabella has joined the the Beverage Tent.

245Cora cheers for all of the participants, looking concerned as Siobhan takes a face dive and cheering even harder when there is that epic recovery. Soon enough Caspian blows through the finish line followed by Aksel then Monique, Archeron making it along then Siobhan. "Ladies and gentlemen please give a warm congratulations to Master Caspian who took first, Master Aksel who took second, and Lady Monique who took third for an extremely well run race." This said she goest to hand each of the three winners their prizes before calling out, "Next up is the fight, please make your way to the fighting sands and I will set up a new line shortly."

The line has been dismissed by Coraline.

Coraline gets Guiding Light Medallion from Arcuri Delivery Bag.

Coraline gets Guiding Light Medallion from Arcuri Delivery Satchel.

Coraline gets Guiding Light Medallion from Arcuri Delivery Tote.

Just as quietly as she arrived, Tabitha makes an exit from the scene, though with gentle applause for the runners, and with smiles in general beforehand. Then she's gone!

Caspian has left the Field.

Caspian has joined the the Concessions Tent.

Tabitha has left the the Concessions Tent.

Laudine, a stern middle-aged maidservant leaves, following Tabitha.

Stojan, the assistant, 3 Thrax Guards arrive, following Denica.

Siobhan joins the others just as the winners are announced, and her smile is broad as she claps calloused hands together. "Well done, you lot," she says. Flushed in face and a little winded, the brunette wheels about, likely going to look for Aaron. Untillll there is a fight announced, and Siobhan's grin somehow gets even broader as she dusts her knuckles on her shirt. "Redemption!"

Jordan has joined the line.

Siobhan has left the Field.

"What's the rules for the fight?" Caspian calls out to Coraline as he leaves the field and heads for the beverage tent to get himself a drink, though he pauses to turn around and call back to her.

Captain Teemo, a mountain lion cub arrives, following Leona.

Edward gives a smile and a raise of his glass to Caspian taking first, a whistle following, "Well done man!"

At Caspian's question Cora grins, "Just fight clean Casipan, you can wear any armor and use any weapons, think you can win two of those things?"

Caspian has joined the line.

Aksel has joined the line.

Harlex takes in a breath as a fight is announced. He shakes his head and looks at the debris of peanuts on his table. There’s a hesitant approach to the line.

Archeron has joined the line.

Harlex has joined the line.

Monique has joined the line.

Monique wields 'Honor' The Minx's Diamondplate Hairpins.

Harlex wields Grim, a wolfish longsword.

Aksel dusting himself off the dust and what not, Aksel accepts what he's given and tucks it away before moving towards where he's been told to gather for the fightery.

Jordan wields Red Feast, a long rubicund mace.

Archeron does a little loop by Amari as he finishes his rather underwhelming race "Well, Amari. As you can see, the honour of not quite losing completely is won for you." But Arch is then quickly stringing up his bow "Time to go and see who I can boomf with practice arrows I suppose. Going to join in, or afraid of a Norwood?"

Fatima waves somewhat exaggeratedly at Denica as she goes by, from where she's enjoying the booze and watching people sweat and (now) soon stab each other.

Archeron wields Intricately forged ancient steel recurve bow.

Leona has joined the High Booth.

Aaron sips his rum, his gaze intent on the finish line as the runners approach it. But he glances aside as he hears a raised voice, just somehow being able to sense that it's trying to get -his- attention. He lowers his mug and gawks as one of the racers...is taking a bit of a detour. "S-so it is!" he exclaims, and then as Shiv remembers that there's a race going on, he waves an arm toward the finish line. "-Yes!- Yes you do! Good luck!" He stares after her for a long moment as she determinedly galumphs on toward the end, and shakes his head. "Right, then," he muses, scratching the underside of his chin as the race ends. Maybe he's thinking about where might make a likely hiding place.
At any rate, he heads toward the seating near the fighting sands and settles in with an interested lean foward, elbows on knees.

Aaron has joined the General Seating.

Leona arrives somewhat later than most of the participants, but as she sweeps in it seems she's more interested in spectating than actually participating. She says something to the cub at her side and then moves over to take a seat in one of the booths, shaded from the sun but still with an excellent view of the field. She gives a nod of greeting to those present, and then says something quiet to them as the tournament begins.

Dot, the war-wiener, Judy, an investigative assistant arrive, following Harper.

"Caspian Wild!" Bashira calls out to her brother from the tent. "Don't do anything I wouldn't do." she adds as she points to her eyes and then back to him.

Denica has only just now arrived and she has an eager smile as she greets Fatima with a wave of her own, a little glance going to the rather crowded booth, instead she notes the presence of a few more faces and heads somewhere a little quieter, giving a wave to Leona and falling into step with her, giving a wave of her own to Alarissa and Rook as she settles herself down in the booth.

Amari shakes her head slowly but adamantly to Archeron when he rounds by. She does smiles, so she's not planning on stabbing him in his sleep for a poor race showing. "No. Have fun! Don't take anyone's eyes out and don't get badly hurt."

Denica has joined the High Booth.

Harlex stands quietly in line, resting his palm on the pommel of his sword. He looks around him, taciturn and seemingly disquieted by the breach of his solitude. He spies the tent where he had come from, momentarily, but remains in his place. Too late now.

Siobhan is lined up with the other fighters, watching as they strap on armor and pull out weapons. She's got her leather pants and her leather vest, her fists, and a regular carpentry hammer. That'll do, Shiv, that'll do. She cracks her knuckles, and gives a little hop as she rolls her head around on her neck, dark eyes glittering with a possibly ill-advised amount of anticipation.

Brigida has left the the Beverage Tent.

Harlex has left the the Concessions Tent.

Harlex has joined the Field.

Now that the epic prizes had been handed out to the race winners, Cora moves to the sands and grins, "Alright fighters we are going in sets of two. First up is Jordan and Caspian. I don't care what you us, or what you wear or don't wear so long as you remain decent, and honorable in your combat. When you two are ready, lay on!"

Monique has joined the Field.

Coraline has joined the Field.

"Hey Jordan," greets Caspian as he steps into the field, giving a little grin over to Jordan as he twirls his knife in hand, then once they are a good distance away raises up his knife and bounces on his feet. "You ready to do this?"

Caspian has rolled a critical success!

"I'd have to jog halfway across the Ward of the Compact to get my steel set, so I guess that rule's good," Jordan calls out to Coraline, grabbing the heft of his mace and swinging it around. He snaps his visor shut, nodding to Caspian. Any facial expression is lost behind the faceplate.

Jordan checked dexterity + medium wpn at difficulty 25, rolling 58 higher.

Gianna makes her way into view at the edge of the tournament field, the bright yellow of her dress sticking out like a... well, probably not a sore thumb. But it is noticeable. She spares some glances at the field as she goes, but armed combat doesn't hold her interest all that much.

Brigida steps out of the beverage tent with a glass of chilled wine. One of the disciples moved up to try and hold it for her and she gives the girl a glare. "I'm old, child, not infirmed." She wanders aimlessly around the ground, staying well away from anything where anyone may mistake her for being interested in participating in a sword fight. She makes her way up to the high booth where she slides into a seat.

The woman bows awkwardly, nearly falling over, but catches herself with her crutch and takes a deep breath. "I was wondering if I might interrupt and speak with you? Privately?"

Caspian checked dexterity + small wpn at difficulty 25, rolling 20 higher.

When the fight starts, Caspian gets a good hit on Jordan, striking him between the armor, but then Jordan gets a good hit on him in return, the man grunting with the strike. He slips to the side, attempting to get around Jordan, and parries a few blows and goes in for a few fients before landing another strike. He gets countered hit, swaying with the strike, and at the third exchange he lands another hit, and takes a big one in return, and the man is knocked off his feet, groaning. Though Jordan is likely beat up as well, to the point where the man would have conceeded, Caspian is the one worst for wear.

It's clearly a close fight, but Jordan's win, since his opponent is unable to fight.

As the fight begins, Jordan strides in closer to Caspian, but not so close that he's out of range for his mace. He snaps into motion, whirling the mace at the Thraxian's chest, and taking a nasty shot on the side. He wheezes, stumbling back for a moment. "Nice shot," he manages out, using a forward jab to gain momentum, stop suddenly, and then sweep to the left with the weapon, taking another hit. He's on his feet, but wobbly, and he offers a hand out to Caspian.

"Ugh, good fight, but let me lie here a moment," Caspian groans, but he reaches for Jordan's hand anyway, wincing as he is pulled up, stumbling a bit. "I'm going to feel it tomorrow," he groans, patting the man on the back, before stumbling his way off the field.

As the fight starts and progresses both are fantastic fighters and that is clear however one does finally come out on top, "Alright Sir Jordan is going on to the next round! Well fought Master Caspian. Next up is Aksel and Siobhan, remember fight with your weapon of choice!"

Harper makes her way in and limps over to a bench to take a seat and watch the fighting. Giving a wave to Coraline and Thena, she settles in and looks around the stands. Spotting Sabella she tosses her a wave too, before turning her attention back over to fields.

"Other then being beaten up? I'm Okay," Says Caspian back to Carita, glancing for anyone who might see, then leans in and steals a fast kiss from Carita's lips. "I'm still resting, but once I feel one hundred percent, I should invite you over my place." He tilts his head to her, wondering, "How are you?"

Aaron sets his mug down to clap for the resolution of the first match, and for those entering the ring on the next go-round. His clapping slows, though, as he sees who it is and what they're fighting with. "Oh, by Gloria. Is she using a -hammer-?" He looks to the bloke with the -huge axe-, squints, wrinkles his nose, leans back and scritch-scritch-scritches at his thigh in a fast, fidgety way.

At the call to fight, Aksel moves towards Siobhan with a flurry of blows. It's a clean fight, one for the ages really, as axe and hammer go at each other. Siobhan's blows land on Aksel, but in the end he's the one still standing. Barely. He reaches down to help Siobhan up, "Good tilt,"

If sheer chutzpah could protect a person, then Siobhan would be cloaked in diamond plate. Alas, it does not, and all she is wearing is her regular clothing. Also, that ax-el of Aksel's is /huge/, and looks even larger when it is swinging through the air at one's self. The brunette ducks and dodges, but Aksel gets quite a few good tags on her, and at the end, it's Siobhan being helped up. "It's /all/ tilted," she tells him, and then gives her head a hard shake. "Good fight, aye."

A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Caspian before departing.

As the fight happens and Cora makes sure everyone still has all the bits they started with, Cora nods at the end, "Another very well fought fight with Aksel being winner. Nicely done with that giant axe Siobhan! Beautiful piece too. Right Aksel will be moving on to the next round! Next up is Archeron and Monique!"

Not the best at fighting, Monique still takes to the field against an... archer? Yes, against an archer. Why not! Surely hairpins against fast flying objects is a great idea. Turns out? Not so much. She doesn't even get close against his skill and in the end, thee Minx yields under the expert onslaught. "Not my best idea," she chuckles, rubbing at a particularly close call.

Sabella gives a belated wave to Harper as she heads off!

Sabella has left the the Beverage Tent.

Archeron grabs his first arrow and waits for the instruction to start the fight with the bow half drawn. Almost as soon as Coraline says go he looses the shot and is quickly scrabbling for a second arrow, pausing to try and use his bracer to ward off the hair pins as he quickly fires off the other shots. Backing up and trying to circle to give him time to fire his remaining shot, archeron manages to end up more than a little tired and with some forearms a little worse for wear! "A good fight, m'lady." He compliments with a bow of his head, smiling "Perhaps axes might be a better choice for things like these - if I want to preserve my good looks and arms."

Bashira has joined the line.

Not the least bit daunted, though considerably rumpled and fingering a tear in her sleeve that she's just going to make worse if she doesn't stop it, Siobhan watches the remaining fights. By now, she's flushed, bruised, and sweaty, but her smile hasn't dimmed a bit, and her brown gaze carries warmth in it. She gives a piercing whistle as the battle finishes, but doesn't stop worrying at that hole in her sleeve to clap her hands.

Bashira gives a salute to Edward as she stands and then goes to get in line.

Bashira has left the the Beverage Tent.

This fight gets a raised brow but Cora did say any weapon type she shakes her head but grins, "Beautifully done to you both, Archeron you are the victor and will be moving to the next round. Monique, that really was really nice fighing. Next up we have Harlex and Bashira!"

Bashira has joined the Field.

Harlex’s eyes widen a bit and his brows crease. He looks behind him, noticing Bashira’s approach, and he doesn’t seem able to move his feet. Not quite yet. After a moment, he tenses his jaw and moves out into the field. He says something, quietly, as they square up. His hands grasping at his sword.

Monique has left the Field.

"Kick his ass, Bash!" Caspian calls out to Bashira from the beverage tent, hands clasped over his mouth so his voice will carry loud and clear!

Aaron can't look. But he can't look away, either! Fortunately, the fighters...well alright, -Aksel- is for sure a highly-skilled warrior who knows when to crush one's enemies and when not to, so much. He claps for the end of that one with a 'Whooooo' that sounds highly relieved.
The next battle is a truly interesting one, indeed. He watches raptly as missiles fly and the nimble combatants leap, dodge, and maneuver. When Archeron proves victorious, he laughs and applauds again, saying, "Well done."
As the next pair prepare to fight, he glances over and spies Siobhan. There's a moment where he's obviously weighing the wisdom of speaking to her and attracting her attention, and then he says, "You survived!" A blink, after. That sounded better in his head.
Eyes go down to regard the way Shiv is worrying an even bigger hole in his sleeve, and one can fairly see the tailor doing his best not to squirm right out of his seat.

There is clear trepidation in his movements. He lets her come to him, parrying aside blows with an expert hand and doing so long after openings could be taken. Quick on his feet and slow to act. But eventually, as though he concedes to the look in her eyes, the black-clad swordsman draws the red-steel knife in to the crook of his cross-section and then slides back a foot behind hers. His weight is thrown forward, knocking her down to the ground with the brutish push of his shoulder; as if he were a wall of stone. When it's finished, he offers his hand and says something quietly. His features apologetic.

Jeeves, a sophisticated valet arrives, delivering a message to Thena before departing.

- Said Harlex!

Siobhan watches the pair square up, her eyes narrowing faintly. There's undercurrents here, perhaps. Then Aaron greets her - sort of, and Siobhan's grin spills forth again. "I did. He just gave me a couple taps with that big old axe of his. Practically love taps, really." She sighs, shaking her head as she sucks her teeth in a way that is neither attractive nor particularly couth. "I'll have to let him down gentle." She nods towards the sands, where the next battle is occuring in quick parries and toppling bodies. "You going to watch all night, or are you going to join in one of these things?"

Archeron moves back into the stands to take his seat for a moment, flashing Amari a pleased-with-himself smile. The Tyde lord sets his bow on his lap and then settles to watch the other fights, wincing at the blows and cheering the winners - as one does. "I guess this doesn't count as a delightful quiet romantic trip when I decide to jump into things and fight, hrm?" He queries of the Keaton lady.

Miranda strides into the Tournament grounds, taking in the assorted goings on. A fight is on, of course, and she slows her pace, looking to find herself a good place to see things. She glances towards the seating, only a moment before her attention is on the display going on. She makes her way as close as she can, dealing with the throng of bystanders and observers politely.

Bashira's really handy with that rubicund blade. Funny she's trying to use it against the very person that made it for her. But there's only so much ducking that a girl can do before brute force makes your ass hit the ground. And that's exactly what happens. "Ow." the sailor states. She does take the offered hand and gives a dip of her head to him, "Well fought." she states to him. Then there's a quiet reply back to him and a shake of her head.

This fight two ends with two spectacular combatants having fought, alas only one may be victorious, "The winner is Harlex having fought an extremely skilled Bashira! Very well done both of you! Harlex you will be moving on to the next round. Next up we wonce again see Sir Jordan and Aksel battling it out!"

Harlex rubs the back of his neck and there's a ghost of a smile on his face. "Well fought," he says in response. He squeezes her shoulder lightly and then moves away, back to his place in line.

Aaron gives a churning sort of nod at Siobhan's...conclusion. His lips press together and it makes the bit of beard beneath his lip puff out a bit, like a bird's fluffed feathers. His gaze drifts back to the fight, and his eyes narrow, perhaps picking up the same sort of thing that Shiv might be. But he answers her question, "I'm not really the fighting type...anymore." One hand rubs at the other, idly. "Though the race looked fun. Might've jumped into that, if I'd gotten here a bit sooner." He sits up straighter and pats his stomach a bit, then frowns and looks down at it. "Shame I didn't," he says, mildly, as he resumes sipping his rum.

"Good job Bashira!" Caspian calls out back to Bashira, hooting and hollaring her way!

Miranda takes the time between fights to find herself a place to sit and see better. Those near her are greeting with a nod and a few words, lost in the noise of the crowd. Then she sits down, smiling as her eyes take in the games.

Siobhan glances at Aaron, nose wrinkling. "Anyone's the fighting type if you piss 'em off enough," she points out, and then hutches her shoulders in a shrug. "Well, I'm sure there'll be something. Hey, maybe they'll do a drinking contest, eh?" Sir Jordan and Aksel are announced, and Siobhan twists her fingers in that hole in her sleeve as she leans forward. "Hit 'em in the knee!" she yells out, though it's not entirely clear who she's directing.

Brigida has left the High Booth.

Alarissa has left the High Booth.

Maxene, Pellinor, 4 Thrax Guards, Honey Snuggle, a Velenosian Angora cat leave, following Alarissa.

As soon as the signal to fight is given, Jordan moves in. Fighting someone with a big axe is generally troublesome due to the opponent's greater reach. His sword is lifted and he sneaks a glance to Siobhan after her called out instruction, chuckling as the axe's blade catches the flat of his sword, but then overpowers him and he takes a hit to the shoulder. To respond to /that/, though, he sinks his sword at Aksel's side, lifting the blade in a diagonal cleave while he's caught again, this time on the side. It's a narrowly fought fight, but once again the knight of Ashford is victorious, if only by a thread.

Harper has joined the General Seating.

Contrary to the call from the sands, Aksel doesn't go for Jordan's knees. He's much to experienced of a fighter to leave himself exposed like that. But taking an arm off? He's not opposed to that. It's a tremendous display between the pair with all there skill on display of dodgerdoo, parrying and strikes. But, all good things must come to an end and Aksel is the one to falters first, face first into the sands.

Now there are -fingers-, multiple, in that hole in Siobhan's sleeve. Aaron reaches up and sort of claws the air for a moment as if it's taking every ounce of self-control he has to not just reach over there and grab her. "You know, a little thread and half a candle-mark's time and some self-control and that sleeve's good as new," he says, the words spilling out on the heels of one another.

And that was one of the most spectacular fights Cora had ever seen, judging by her rapt expression anyway. As it ends she is cheering both. "That was amazing! Both of you incredible job! Sir Jordan, you move on to the final round. And now Archeron and Harlex, you are up!"

Siobhan is on her feet, stomping and yelling, and at some point there is the sickening sound of weave giving way as her torn sleeve is rent clear in twain. She waves the fluttering end over her head, screaming advice and other entirely unhelpful phrases, and when the fight is over - so close! - it is Aksel who is beaten. "I told you! Hit him in the knee!"
Oh, but Aaron said something, didn't he? She looks over at him, brows knitting. "Huh? Oh!" She looks down at the limp cloth in her hand and then holds it out to Aaron. "Here you go."

Somewhere after the events started, a quiet and semi-steady stream of messengers found Sparte where he is sitting to watch. So he has remained benched, and reading, and writing responses, through the full of it. Ah well, at least he can watch.

Keski, a nervous disciple of Petrichor, Aletta, an even more nervous disciple of Petrichor leave, following Brigida.

The sound that Aaron makes is one of pure, primal, lizard-brain horror. He slaps a hand to his mouth and just stares, wide-eyed, at that mutilated sleeve. The fantastic prowess going on at the tourney field, is utterly forgotten. He takes the sleeve in both hands and cradles it like a baby bird that has broken its wing.
He looks over to Harper in a daze and all he can say to her is, "Well I wish it were under better circumstances."

Archeron stands up from the stands, leaning to kiss Amari's cheek if she allows before he makes his way back to the field. Arch quickly grabs a trio of the cloth-wrapped blunted arrows, carefully holding them using two of his fingers in the hand that grips his ancient bow. He takes his spot and scuffs the ground a little with his boots. The first arrow is slipped against the bow and half drawn, and once go is called, Archeron immediately starts backpeddling as he looses the first arrow. After releasing the string, his fingers are quickly grabbing an arrow from his fingers to loose another. Archeron stumbles a little after Harlex's second attack, his bracer knocked askance as the blade bits into the leather. Archeron quickly rolls back and fires his final shot, aiming for the small gaps in the armour to try to give his opponent a good thumpy bruise that might win Archeron the day.

Harlex is light on his feet and quick with his hands. But a man has his limits. He’s closing the distance, splintering arrows as he pursues the archer, until that final arrow catches him /hard/ and he jerks back. His longsword whipped out of his hand and into the dirt as he drops. The sellsword gets back up on his feet and dusts himself off with a nod to Archeron. "Well fought," he says after a moment before he sheathes his weapon.

As Archeron pulls off a shot that seriously is one of those once in a lifetime sort of shots, Cora is once more cheering for both. "And that will no doubt be remembered! Wonderful fight both of you. Archeron you are moving on to the next round which is against Jordan! This is our finale folks!"

Stopping a moment Cora calls out to the crowd, "NExt will be the joust and then a team event. That event will be capture the flag, teams of 3, find your perfect teams!"

Jordan steps into the field again when he's called in, breathing harder from all the fighting he's done so far. But he's wearing a jousting shield on his off-arm, no doubt to avoid getting peppered with arrows. Nodding to Archeron, the knight of Ashford readies himself.

The line has been dismissed by Coraline.

Amari applauds from the stands once the round is decided by Archeron's masterful display. There's a warm smile of pride and encouragement for him too, as he moves on to the finale against Jordan, who wisely brought a shield with him.

Archeron gives Harlex a warm smile and a bow of his head "Well fought." Before he turns to smile at JOrdan as the knight appears "Sir Jordan. I guess we see if the Knights of Ashford can best the training of the Rangers of Ashford." And the archer offers a small bow before he readies, grabbing some arrows from a rack and carefully preparing them.

Caspian steps forward after the tournament is done, calling out, "Jousters, please get your horses and your lances, and take the field! I will take your names and form the bracket!" He calls out to the crowd.

Corbit grins at Gianna, "To be honest, if an actual spider gets on me, I scream like a little girl." he says, "Stomping, jumping up on stuff, if it's on my clothes I'll probably end up naked within a few seconds, I don't like spiders, they creep me out." he says with a shudder, "Too many legs, nothing needs that many legs."

Fighting archers as a line soldier is never a good idea without a shield wall to protect you. So even with the shield, Jordan still has to contend with arrows that pin him down into defensiveness, until a shot narrowly misses the bone on his shin and he lifts a hand to yield.

Nor does she seem shy of barging in on the conversation!

A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Harper before departing.

Bayberry, an Oakhaven juvenile bloodhound arrives, following Norwood.

There is a final bow from Archeron, before he quickly fires off and starts backpeddling once more. It probably isn't the most dignified way to fight, trying to be the backwards sprint runner - but Archeron likes being alive far more than he likes being dignified, so he learnt well. Watching arrows obliterate themselves as they strike plate, one arrow finally strikes true just to pip him over the edge. Unfortunately even backpeddling comes at a cost, and his left arm which held the bow has a rather large bruise appearing from under the bracer "I think, Sir Jordan, a little more energy and you'd have had my arm - blunted or no. A good match, Sir Jordan. And always an honour to face my beloved Ashford. Please, give my best to my mother, and to Duke Harlan." It is formal and polite, but it comes with ragged breath and sucked in air as he recovers from the exersion.

As this final fight wraps Cora cheers them both and begins handing out the appreopriate medallions, "Very well fought both of you, the whole way through. Thank you for joining in. Next up is the joust." She says grinning then heads to the stands to collapse for a few.

1 Grayson House Guards, Peaches, a lovely white war filly with a peach saddle, Deliverance, an albino falcon, Stormy, a silvery gray hunting hound, Rascal, a hyper terrier, Rosalie, a lady in waiting arrive, following Reese.

Miranda rises from her seat, "Can anyone join? I'll be glad to joust, Master Wild!" She waves her hand, then murmurs to those with her in the stands

Reese arrives at the tournament just barely in time to make the joust. Her golden locks are looking a bit messy. Did she just wake up or something? She smiles to many gathered here and hurries up to get her filly ready. "Hi Harlex." She says to the other jouster getting ready.

Cora gets up and nods to Miranda, "Come on in, anyone can join indeed!"

Caspian points to Miranda, telling her, "You are in then! Get on down here!"

Harlex is a fine rider at least so far and offers Reese a ghost of a smile. "Princess," he says quietly.

Miranda has left the High Booth.

Leona calls as Miranda steps from their conversation to join the joust, "Good luck, Lady Miranda!"

Bashira has left the General Seating.

Miranda hurries out of her seat and down to the stands. She gives a wave up to Leona at the wish of luck!

Norwood has been doing his thing over there just WAITING for when he gets knocked off his horse onto his arse again. Drawing up beside the others he runs a hand along his horse's neck to calm the creature before nodding to the jousting opponents.

Amari pops up, not because she means to join the joust, no. She instead strolls over to fetch Archeron and check his arm to see if it's still on right. She fusses with the bracer and winces sympathetically, but that seems to be the extent of her ability to treat sparring injuries. "I was afraid you'd end up a bit uneven and stumpy, Archeron. That was some fine archery though. Congratulations."

Aaron lifts a hand and waves as Bashira must depart. "Nice meeting you," he says (slowly)

Reese looks over to Miranda, having a gentle smile for her as she joins the jousting. She then keeps ready for the joust, cooing at her filly and the like.

"So first off is Lady Miranda verses Princess Reese! Ladies, get on your horses, grab your lances, and line up! And when you are ready, signal and ride!" Caspian calls out, pointing to the two, "If nether of you dehorse each other in three rounds, I will judge who the winner is!"

"Likewise, my Lord. Well fought and congratulations on your win." Jordan hobbles over to the corner, removing the greave -- and the arrow along with it. He represses a curse, glances down, and just puts the greave back on before heading back to the refreshments table.

Miranda has to borrow a horse! BUt once she does, she slides up onto him, looking excited and nervous as she's handed a lance. She takes a moment to get a feel for it and then nods. She smiles at Reese, "Princess, good luck to you!"

Archeron gives a little sly smile across, helping her to remove the lacings on his bracer "I will claim a kiss later to stop the bruises."

Miranda rides on an unfamiliar horse with considerable excitement and energy. When it is time, she leads her horse into a gallop, lance ready and going into position. She has a really silly grin on her face as if this were the best fun ever! When they exchange blows, Miranda goes right off the horse! Flung feet over head and right to the ground with a thud. The air is knocked out of her and it takes her a moment to manage a grunted, "I"m all right!" into the dirt.

Norwood glances over his shoulder when he hears his name, shaking his head at mention of the Norwood incident. Back to the focus of the joust, especially as Miranda is knocked off of her horse. Armored hands come together to applaud Reese.

Corbit has left the the Beverage Tent.

2 Leary House Guards, Lite, a little blue canary leave, following Corbit.

"And Princess Reese wins!" Caspian calls, pointing towards Reese. "And next up, Harlex verses Baron Norwood! Please take the field!" He calls out to the two.

Called forward Norwood nods to Harlex respectfully once before hauling himself up onto his horse and reading towards the field. He's a quiet one as his horse takes its place.

Reese gets her filly under control even as she looks down to Miranda, seemingly making sure she is okay. She seems relieved when she hear the Lady's words. "Good Match, Lady Miranda." She says and then starts to trot from the jousting area, making room for Harlex and Norwood.

Harlex moves out onto the field. He rides a dusty warhorse and carries a medium sized lance. "Baron," he says, a steady nod given.

Norwood has rolled a critical success!

Miranda has joined the High Booth.

Harper makes her goodbyes to those she's sitting with and stands up. Giving Aaron a nod, she calls back, "Yeah we definitely should talk real soon." Waving over to Coraline and Thena, she starts limping her way out of the area.

Harper has left the General Seating.

Dot, the war-wiener, Judy, an investigative assistant leave, following Harper.

Miranda returns to her seat with the ladies, landing hard a bit on her rear and brushing off some dirt and dust from her ... exceptional display of joust-manship.

Cora waves to Harper as she leaves calling out, "Thank you for coming! Tomorrow will be fun too!" She grins then looks around and moves towards the stands.

"I don't think so." Reese to Miranda even as she looks around the grounds as if searching for someone. "Not unless he is being sneaky, which seems possible."

Focused and centered Norwood's gaze and attention are directed only towards his opponent. Zero frills in his charge as he leans in at the last moment and does his best to resist the ooomph that slams him back into his saddle. A tight smile settles on his face, see, this is fun.

Amari walks Archeron back to the stands and makes sure he's not bleeding and nothing is obviously broken before directing him to sit. She'll do the same once he's settled. She'll also keep the one bracer of his, putting it on her own wrist and then pushing it back towards her elbow. With a nod, she observes aloud, "Baron Norwood is jousting. Don't set your bow near me, or I might accidentally set it off and knock him out."

Though he is not a knight, he's handy enough with a weapon. But the sturdy and unfamiliar weaponry is not on his side. The lance smashed against his shield and he falls off his saddle with a resounding thud. The sellsword looks up at nothing for a moment before he climbs to his feet. Harlex lifts his chest in a breath, to make sure he can breath, and nods to Norwood in the aftermath.

"Baron Norwood wins this round!" Caspain points his finger towards Norwood, a grin on his lips. "And he will now joust Princess Reese for the prize!"

Reese watches the match between Norwood and her protege with all this intense interest. "Good Match. Congrats Baron Norwood." She says, when she thinks the Baron has one. She then peeks over to Harlex, making sure he is alright. She smiles as Caspian speaks of her being next. Reese gets back on her horse. "Oh, this a rematch between us." She says, but has a smile at that. "An honor to joust with you again, Baron. May Gloria be with us both."

Reese is overheard praising Harlex: yay, trying out jousting. Good match!

Pulling his horse up Norwood waits till he sees harlex to his feet again before moving back to his starting place. An up and down look satisfies him that the man isn't severely broken in any way before wheeling and looking back to the start. That small smile has grown into a real smile and he bows from his horse to Reese. "And to you, I only hope to go more than one round this time."

Harlex stands by the side of the jousting field. His arms folded over his chest. He watches closely, maybe trying to pick up some tips for future contests.

Reese goes charging at Norwood. Her first blow lands and so does his. She manages to stay seated upon her filly and Norwood does as well. On the second charge, she has a really powerful hit, but is also struck. Reese's filly goes a bit wild after that blow and she never manages to get her horse back under control. She goes tumbling only a few moments after Norwood does. It was a very close match.

Reese is overheard praising Norwood: Good Match!

It goes more than one round which was really all Norwood asked for. On the sound round Reese's lance hits him like a bolt of lighting and he's going flying. His horse is SUPER CONFUSED at the fact that he's no longer on top of it and the creature just wanders a bit. Norwood is just going to lay there for a good second. Ow. Just. Ow. He'll get up in a moment.

Norwood has joined the General Seating.

Cora moves to hand out the first and second place prizes, "Alright folks the capture the flag event is about to start, I need each team to sort out a leader and they will join the line and tell me who is on their team. ONLY the leader will join the line."

Monique smiles to Coraline, rising as the other woman does, and stretching out her limbs. She comes to join Reese and Jordan on the field, the first two she sees. "Team?" the Minx murmurs in offering, pairing the offer with a smile.

"Sure." Jordan nods to Monique, flashing her a brief smile in turn.

Jordan has joined the line.

Harlex has left the Field.

Archeron slowly eases himself to his feet, giving Coraline a bow of his head as they pass in their little shuffle "Thank you Princess. Let me know how Tyde can help, and we will." And he slowly leads Amari away, gently rubbing at his bruised arm.

Archeron has left the General Seating.

Amari has left the General Seating.

2 Novice Keaton Huntsmen, River, a juvenile Oakhaven bloodhound leave, following Amari.

Amari leaves, following Archeron.

Miranda is very excited and honored to receive her medallion for third place! She holds it, admires it, and looks VERY delighted by it! She heads back up to the seats, grinning like an idiot who is very pleased with herself, even if her fall has caused her to move a little more slowly than before.

Miranda has joined the High Booth.

Siobhan jerks her head towards the field as the next contest is announced. "C'mon, that's us. Let's go find us a third," she says to Aaron. Without looking back, she's heading out on the hunt. Spotting an older man with a silvering beard, Siobhan plants herself before Norwood. "Hello. Name's Shiv. Looking for someone to tell me and my friend Aaron here what to do. You're nominated."

Siobhan has left the General Seating.

Norwood finally gets himself all settled down off the joust and his mount taken care of before moving onto the field. The nomination of himself has leader has the older knight shaking his head slightly. "It's my pleasure to be with the pair of you then." Team Older People. They are the TOP.

Aaron has joined the Field.

Reese is on the field in all her pink as she speaks with Jordan and Monique. She tries to get a pink flag for her team, because this is Reese!

Siobhan grins up at Norwood. "I like you." Then she's looking around for Aaron. "Aaron! I found us a boss!" Not that she asked the tailor if he WANTED a boss. Siobhan rubs her hands together and then pushes one of her sleeves up. The other one already haven been torn off, natch.

Having left the scrap of fabric that was once Siobhan's sleeve at the stands by his mug of rum, Aaron saunters over to join the teams. "Thank you, m'lord," he says, with a brief bob of his head to Norwood. Nope, he doesn't seem to mind having a boss, even if it was because he got voluntold.

Norwood follows after Siobhan and bows slightly to Aaron. "I am afraid I did not catch either of your names directly? Aaron?" Just overhearing names now. that's fun.

Siobhan frowns at Norwood. "Shiv. I said. Right before I nominated you." She sighs, and then rolls her eyes. "Oh, all /right/. It's Siobhan, but /everyone/ calls me Shiv, really." Or they will if she has any say in it.

And finally the last game is upon them, a field is set with trees, hills, and shrubberies! Oh yeah and those flag things. Two flags set ready one red, one blue. Before the red one stands Norwood bravely leading Aaron and Siobhan, while the blue holds greats like Reese, Jordan, and Monique. Oh but this is not just any field, oh now, it is dotted with areas that look a little TOO peaceful. Stepping to the middle, after /carefully/ walking there, Cora calls. "Here we have it folks, the finale! You may begin!"

Monique flexes her fingers as she looks to Reese and Jordan, a smile curving her lips. Her eyes drift to the other team and start assessing. "Hm. Make sure you take out the oldest one first," she murmurs loud enough for Norwood to hear.

Norwood stares at Monique and then very carefully turns away. Nope, NOT LISTENING.

As the teams begin doing their thing, suddenly eggs begin flying in from somewhere! Perhaps minitaure trebuchet's? Either way nearly everyone manges to avoid them, all except poor Aaron. Splat!

Meeka arrives, delivering a message to Denica before departing.

Of course Reese does backflips and spins as she avoids her eggs, making it clear she don't fear no stinkin eggs!

Norwood dodges the eggs, then winces when Aaron goes down. NEVER LEAVE A MAN BEHIND has Norwood falling back to reach down and see if he can help out his partner. "You alright?"

Reese is quite nimble out on the field as dodges, darts and spins around eggs. Even the best egg throws in the audience cannot touch her!

"Aaron Blackburn, at your service," Aaron says, smoothly, with just a little bit of A Look at Siobhan because did she -really- roll her eyes just then? Then Norwood is commanding them and Aaron is doing his best to circle around and do flanking maneuvers, et cetera. Then something pings him upside the head and it's running down his face and eww it's kind of cold! "I'm hit!" he yelps, gallantly. He swipes egg off of his face and glares at it. "Yes, I'm fine, I think. Pretty much."

Monique dodges the eggs like they're Oathlands Knights and then just sort of... fades into the background. Where did she even go? It's hard to spy that telltale hint of crimson that is the Minx.

Siobhan stares at the sky as if it has betrayed her, but she dodges and weaves between splatting eggs. Norwood is falling back to help Aaron out, who has taken one right to the noggin. Shiv frowns, clearly torn between the thrill of competition and the tug of Aaron on her heartstrings. Well, some sort of strings, anyway. Heaving a sigh, she trots back towards her team mates, only to spin on her heel as she hears Aaron says he's all right. Where did those other people go?

Reese peeks over to Aaron as he wipes the egg from his face, having a grin for the tailor. "He is a good sport." She says to whoever is nearby at the moment. She then keeps her doing her thing, trying to help Monique and Jordan capture a flag.

As everyone tries to run across the field all but Siobhan manage to find themselves falling into pits of a lemon cream. They are COATED and need to make it out of the pits to keep moving forward!

Reese sure can flip around like a acrobat as dodges, but she seems pretty tense and goes falling right a pit of lemon cream. She acts like a true princess as she slips into the cream. "Ack! Ack!" She fails and seems to be /gasp/ worried about clothing too.

Miranda has left the High Booth.

Norwood is CREAMED. So much cream everywhere. It gets into his armor. So. Much. Cream. "That's going to take a bit to clean." So very matter-of-fact. Absently, "Margerie might like it though."

Aaron carries on, egged on by Norwood's leadership and Siobhan's...total stubbornness. Just when he thinks that he's in the clear, the ground gives way underneath him and he's sliding into thick, yellow...fabulous-smelling goop. He licks some out of his beard. "They're going to be able to make pies out of us by the time this is over with," he muses to himself.

Pits to the left of her, pits to the right. Not to mention the ones behind and ahead. Siobhan keeps running, and maybe it's her skill, or maybe it's that weird rolling gait of hers, but she manages to keep her feet. She looks over her shoulder to find both Norwood and Aaron coated in lemon cream, and she calls back, "Save some for me, Aaron!" Leaving him with that shudder inducing thought, the shipbuilder keeps on truckin'.

Monique gets too close and is creamed by Norwood. His cream gets all over her, since he made such a mess of all that cream. She glares, wiping it off with disdain. "Be more careful where you're splattering, m'lord!"

"It'll be Lemon Merainge in your case my man." Norwood calls out to Arron for that musing. A hand raised up to Siobhan. THEY GOT THIS. Monique gets EYED. "Perhaps you might consider just not going near my cream My Lady."

Reese checked composure at difficulty 15, rolling 5 lower.

Monique flicks cream back at Norwood in retaliation, and then slides free of his big, creamy mess.

Reese is struggling to get out of the pit of lemon green while looking like a huge mess. She doesn't seem too happy about it! Her cheeks are pink beneath the cram and everything. She does look between Monique and Norwood and almost giggles though.

Norwood is innocent of whatever Monique is doing. He just needs something to clean himself up. Maybe a hankerchief. Later. Struggling out of the cream he goes to follow Siobhan. Who's the leader NOW?

Aaron laughs at that. "S'true," he says to Norwood. "Oh gods, let's hope I don't get anywhere near flames, then." He lunges forward and sort of half swims and half marches out of the custard moat of doom.

Jordan is drenched in cream, and that naturally means he'll have to spend hours cleaning his armor. Pity him as he scrambles out of the pit, grumbling to himself. "Let's get that damn flag already!"

Reese checked charm + leadership at difficulty 45, rolling 11 lower.

Siobhan checked dexterity + brawl at difficulty 45, rolling 16 lower.

Reese starts to give orders and tries to look all stately and leader like. The problem is she is blushing hotly and covered in egg cream. She doesn't seem very commanding at the moment.

"Just.... try to get the flag." Norwood's command falls utterly flat as he slogs forward. "At least I have some pants just for this occasion." Just In Case Pants.

Jordan checked dexterity + athletics at difficulty 45, rolling 1 higher.

Norwood's rousing leadership advice filters over to Siobhan, who actually stops in the middle of her run to turn and look back at him. "Get it? That's your plan?" She throws her arms up in the air, and then turns to start running again, but the non-lead she had before is even more of a non-lead now. But hey, at least she's not covered in lemon cream!

Jordan is an angry man drenched in cream, and that means he's more than willing to run afield to get the opposing flag. He nods to Reese's instructions, whether they're confusing or not, and dashes forward with the intent to take that damn flag! He makes headway, impressively.

It's very hard to be sneaky when you're covered in cream and glowering at a certain Baron, but Monique does give it a try. At least her hair is no longer a bright, crimson flag one could use to spy her with.

Aaron is making weird squishing noises when he walks. "You know, Siobhan," he says, as he sort of waddles through the wood with his soggy trouser legs flapping this way and that over his boots, "I almost brought your sleeve over. Perhaps I should have. We could have used it as a decoy." Squish squish squish. Rustle, rustle, as he gets leaves and things stuck to him.

"There are WORSE plans," Norwood responds calmly. He falls in beside Aaron, if nothing else maybe they can plow through things. He'll fall silent beyond that though, continuing on to whatever comes next.

Norwood has left the Field.

Reese is overheard praising Aaron: He can take cream and eggs and keep going!

Fatima has left the High Booth.

Reese is overheard praising Siobhan: doesn't fall into cream pits, she seems pretty alert!

Word trickles out that while Princess Jaenelle Velenosa closed down the dockyard in the Lowers for a day, a group of brave souls hunted down the source of the animal attacks. Lead by Princess Coraline Thrax, the group consisted of Princess Denica Thrax, Lord Ian Kennex, Harlequin Mae Culler, Guardsman and Admiral Merek Black, Grandmaster Caspian Wild, his sister Goodwoman Bashira Ru-Tal, Guardswomen Harper Ashdown and Amantha Harrow, Asher Grayhope and Raymesin. Lord Richard Wyrmguard joined the fight after a diseased bear made an appearance, knocking out a wall of the warehouse which housed the diseased animals and fourteen captives, all suffering from the same disease. The culprit was revealed to be a woman identifying herself only as 'Meg' who had been fostering and breeding disease in this warehouse, mingling different strains for whatever nefarious purpose. Injured in the fight, Meg has since been taken to the Commons Clinic with the rest of her victims, and is currently under treatment. All of the diseased animals (Including the bear) have been put down.

Meanwhile a cadre of physicians have been working day and night to come up with a cure for this disease. After a trio of remarkable breakthroughs discovered by Goodman Soren Temple, Master Physician and Coroner Godric Stewart and Princess Isidora Valardin, it was now Master Physician Meriah Gascoigne who unlocked the formula for the cure before collapsing into her sickbed. They did not do it all alone, and were aided by Princess Coraline Thrax, Ladies Lethe Tyde, Azova Darkwater, and Rey Laveer, Marquessa Reigna Keaton, Lords Richard and Alexandre Wyrmguard and Assistant Guildmaster Cybele. Confirmation comes that this cure is, in fact working and within twenty-four hours those infected recently, are showing signs of full recovery. Those living with the disease longer-term require multiple treatments, but are non-aggressive and on the mend. All in all, a fantastic victory for the Physicians of Arx.

Reese is overheard praising Monique: Sneaky redhead isn't so sneaky when she is covered in cream, but still is awesome.

Reese is overheard praising Coraline: East Light Leader and Dieased Bear fighter!

Reese is overheard praising Jordan: Yay, he is athletic under pressure!

Reese is overheard praising Denica: Yay, Denica helping to fight dieased bears.

As Coraline steps away for something probably SUPER important, Carita steps in to take her place, smile shining as she makes her way towards the flag area. She clears her throat before speaking up, "It gives me /great/ honor to announce the winners, though that is likely readily apparent," She dips her head apologetically towards Norwood and his group, before she adds, "Princess Reese's team, congratulations!"

Reese is all covered in cream and she smiles when Carita announces them as the winner. "Yay!" She says. "You were quite wonderful Sir Jordan and Lady Monique." She murmurs. "We would have lost of Jordan were so very fit and athletic." She says, before looking to Aaron, Siobhan and Norwood. "Thank you all and good match."

No flag is got, despite Norwood's excellent directions. Siobhan hangs her head, hands on her hips as she catches her breath, but as the winners are announced, she lifts her head to show a broad grin. "Well done!" she calls, and then she's trotting her way back to Aaron. "Well, we didn't capture the flag, but at least I didn't fall in a lemon pit." Oh wait, but Aaron did. Siobhan pauses, and then asks, "How's it taste?"

Jordan chuckles at Reese's words, offering an awkward, cream-laden bow. He tosses the flag to Monique with a wink, saluting her. "Your souvenir, my Lady!" A moment is spent to pat Reese's shoulder, then, on his way towards... a towel.

Aaron bravely keeps trying to mow his way through bracken for a few moments before he finally concedes defeat. "Well, on the plus side, I did -not- have to climb or balance on anything. Technically." He squish-thwap-rustles his way back toward the others and offers, "Congratulations. Well done."
At Siobhan's question, he looks down at his pants, which are a sodden ruin of lemon curd and bits of forest. "Um. Like -lemon-, probably," he says, accentuating that key word she'd just said herself. "I wouldn't recommend trying any, now."

Siobhan is overheard praising Order of east light: A great series of games and a great group of people!

Monique grins broadly to her team, even covered in cream as she is, and plucks the flag out of the air, bowing over it in Jordan's direction. "Sir Ober, you are our hero. Well, this was wonderful!" And there are congratulations to the other team, too, because this is not easy!

Siobhan is not one to take such good advice! She attempts to swipe her finger through a splash of lemon on Aaron's shoulder, and should she glean anything, she's popping it into her mouth. Regardless of her success, she's waving a hand to the other team, grinning broadly at them. "That was well done, indeed. I'd say we nearly had you, but we all got eyes."

Aaron swipes a hand through his beard and comes away with some more lemon-stuff. As well as raw egg. He pauses for a moment and then...just wipes it on the front of his shirt. "It's laundry day tomorrow, anyway," he murmurs.

Jordan grins at Monique. "You were quite good at it, yourself, my Lady. Well played! And you too, red team!" He calls out to the others.

Reese finds a towel and starts to wipe off lemon cream from her face. She smiles upon getting the Medallion. "Oh, I already got one, did you want one Princess Cora?"

Cora gets big eyes as Reese offers, "Really? Really truly?"

Fingers clasped together in front of her, Carita's serene sort of smile remains as she watches each team congratulate one another. When she notices Jordan walking by, she turns to keep her steps even with his as she talks amiably and low, humor dancing in her eyes.

Reese looks over to Coraline, having gentle smile for her. "Oh, yeah, I don't really need two medallions." She murmurs softly, handing her one. "Plus if anyone should have one, it should be you Cora." She tries to kiss the princess's cheek.

Monique grins to Jordan. "Ah, well, maybe I just followed your tactics." She does not, notably, offer anyone one of her medallions. Greedy Minx.

"They work, right?" Jordan winks at Monique, before his attention is stolen by Carita as she murmurs to him. He smiles briefly, and offers a murmur in kind, nodding affirmatively to whatever is said.

Taking the medallion, Cora gives Reese a big hug, not caring if there is cream transfer. "Thank you, thank you so much this is like. It is like I just won too." Are her eyes misty? Nawww couldn't be! She accepts the cheek kiss with a broad smile and a blush. "You are all wonderful, amazing, excuse me while I blubber a bit."

Reese returns Coraline's hug, but she is covered in lemon cream and just might get some on the Thrax Princess. "You made the order, Cora, you should have a medallion. It is very exciting and I look forward to all our adventures to come. "

Aaron grinds to Jordan as he too offers congratulations, and starts to pick his way back up the path toward the stands. He looks over his shoulder to see if Siobhan is following. Somehow...he just expects her to.

Dandy, the red fox, 1 Templar Knight guards arrive, following Etienne.

Siobhan is following Aaron, but only as long as it takes to catch up with him. Then she's right at his side. "Let's hit the tents, yeah? I saw an arm wrestling tent." She eyes him sidelong. "Loser buys drink?" Oh, the gauntlet is thrown!

Monique is standing near Reese and Coraline, clutching two shiny medallions and covered head to toe in lemon cream. She doesn't look too upset by it, though, because she's busy inspecting her lovely medallions.

Aaron blinks, stops, and looks down at his pants. There is a sweeping gesture with both hands. "Are we going to stand up and do this?" he asks. And yet he's following her into the tent. Squish, squish.

Siobhan has left the Field.

Siobhan has joined the the Champion Arm Wrestling Tent.

Aaron has left the Field.

Aaron has joined the the Champion Arm Wrestling Tent.

Siobhan grins broadly as she looks Aaron up and down. "Well, it's a different sort of wrestling altogether if we do it laying down," she says, ducking into the tent.

Aaron rubs his face and mutters into his hand as he, too, disappears into the tent.

Etienne glides into the tournament grounds, arriving after the majority of the festivities. Behind him as usual is the dandy red fox cheerfully puppering, however now there is a sort of grim looking man in templar colors that could be best described as tagging along. He makes a loop around the grounds, his first stop the concessions tent. Emerging a moment later he emerges and makes his way to watch the field, noticing the lemon cream covered collection of persons and drawing nearer he raise a pale eyebrow. "I imagine there was something truly spectacular that I missed?" the tone is a question, and it comes with an amused smile.

Denica has left the High Booth.

Stojan, the assistant, 3 Thrax Guards leave, following Denica.

Monique turns, cream-clad and smiling, towards the arrival of the Archlector. "Oh, dear. Hide yourselves! Here comes a man who loves sweets!" she teases, lifting a goo-smeared hand to greet Etienne. The one with the medallions. Pointedly.

Carita stands and speaks quietly with Jordan, her laughter the only thing that rings out until she hears a familiar voice. "Of /course/ I'll let you win at arm wrestling, Sir Ober. You didn't even have to ask. In /fact/ I'll even just /say/ you won and we don't even have to try, if that will make you feel better?" It looks as though she might have patted Jordan shoulder to comfort him,

You didn't even have to ask. In /fact/ I'll even just /say/ you won and we don't even have to try, if that will make you feel better?" It looks as though she might have patted Jordan's shoulder to comfort him, but thinks better of it as he's covered in pie filling of some sort. Instead she pats the air around that shoulder.

Etienne takes a step back as the Monique raises her hand, "I've got something." he shows her his small niblet from the concession tent. "But thank you." another smile. "Is that a prize you're so surreptitiously showing me?" he inquires. He seems to be keeping a tactical distance from the mess and holding the lapel of his coat defensively.

Jordan smiles bemusedly at Carita after her words outloud, shaking his head. "Sure. Arm wrestling it is." Once he's secured a towel for himself, he'll be wiping that cream out of his face and much of his armor. Slowly. Carefully.

"Two prizes, in fact," Monique boasts, stepping closer to Etienne with ill intent very evident in her bright green eyes. "Medallions. One for third place in a running contest, and one for being on the winning team in this last game, with Princess Reese and Sir Ober over yon." She waves to Jordan. "He handily won the game for us, though we all got covered in this tasty treat. It was a well-run event by Princess Coraline. Are you looking forward to yours tomorrow, Etienne?"

3 Thrax Guards arrives, following Jasher.

As Jordan's name is called, Carita smiles in Monique's direction, "Ahh, Lady Greenmarch, I wonder if I might have a word with you privately a moment? It should only take that long, if you're able?" She lifts a clean towel in offering, "I have ill-gotten gains from Sir Ober for you, if you'd like to towel some cream off?" She smiles Jordan's way before turning her attention back towards Monique.

"Two prizes? You shall have to add them to your numerous collection of others." Etienne chuckles. He turns to look at the recipient of the wave and then at the question looks back. "Yes, tomorrow. Well." the short nature of his reply is easily interpreted. "I hope I fetch a suitable price that will help the organization." he actually rocks on his heels as he says this, a new level of fidgeting.

"I got two, myself!" Jordan calls out to Monique. "Second and first place. Couldn't have done it without you, though." He looks over at Carita and tilts his head when one of his prized towels are just outright swooped. But he laughs, and goes back to the benches to continue the cleaning up.

"Bragging!" Monique calls back to Jordan with a low chortle of laughter, and then she's holding out her medallions for Etienne to inspect, trying to wipe some cream along his cheek with a finger. "Oh, well, anything for a towel," Monique replies then to Carita with a guarded look. She'll step forward to meet Carita half way.

Perhaps hearing the commotion going on in the tournament grounds, Jasher makes his way within, pausing to regard the activity still going on. After a glance around, he lopes towards the stands (or wherever spectators tend to end up in) to observe the proceedings quietly.

Carita can't help but laugh as she dips her head, offering the towel and nothing more, though her eyes glitter with mischeif. "Sir Ober is a very good sport," she muses, dipping her head his way before he ventures off to find /another/ towel because she's taken his. Once Monique has taken it, she steps in to speak a little more softly, her smile sweet and something not very large in her hand to show.

Etienne does not follow, it was a private conversation. Instead he focuses on the remainder of his snack, and after a tentative swiping of a finger against his cheek where lemon cream was deposited decides it does not go well with the meats, between peering around the field. He finishes all but one bite of the meat which he pulls from the small wooden spear and drops on the ground for Dandy to eagerly consume. The stick he hands to the templar knight, who holds it dutifully with only the smallest hint of the injustice of it all.
