Anyone can face ease and success with confidence. It is the way we face trouble and misfortune that defines us.

Description: Massive and imposing, Adalbern has been blessed with a powerful, athletic build that seems perfect for looming. His honey blonde hair is worn long and wild, typically unbound, framing a little trimmed beard and steel grey eyes. The man's movements are large, and expansive, but with animalistic grace to them as he seems to fill the room with every gesture. When he speaks, it seems to almost rumble from the low, deep tones that serve to make himself heard across a room and his presence known even though he rarely raises his voice outside of battle.
Personality: At first glance, Adalbern doesn't exactly look like the most approachable type and his blunt directness can put others off. Those who get to know him however, soon come to learn that he's a man that takes pleasure in the simple things in life, and while rough around the edges, his words are honest and once his loyalty is earned, it's nigh unshakeable. On the whole, he's slow to anger, enduring much before provoked, and it's a good thing as well. Once his anger is roused, it burns hot and unceasing, and on the battlefield a berserker's rage rises to the fore.
Background: Adalbern was born in the hills surrounding Bonespire, just south of the Everwinter to a warrior of the Stahlben clan, and a woman he'd taken to wife from the Everwinter Shav. Sadly, he never knew his mother as she died shortly after, his birth a difficult one. His father raised the boy as best he could, but he was often away and unable give the proper attention necessary for a young troublemaker.
The boy spent much of his youth exploring the crags and tundra near his home, learning the ways of the mountains and the frozen north; largely unsupervised and turning into quite the little savage until his father decided he was an of an age to start training with the other young warriors-to-be of the clan. As he started spending more time amongst the others of his people, he met the girl who would grow to be his wife, Skada.
Once the two were of age, they soon married and it wasn't long before a little one was on the way. It wasn't meant to last, however. Shortly after the birth of their daughter, Vigga, the Undying and their servants spilled forth from the Everwinter.
Skada was lost during the first rush of the horde, though Vigga managed to escape into the mountain stronghold that her father would help to defend. A part of Adalbern seemed lost, and he flung himself into the battles of his clan even more fervently than before, leaving Vigga to his wife's parents at the time.
When Magnus bent the knee to Sanna, Adalbern decided to uproot himself and Vigga from the Bonespire and the memories it held, and now they seek a new life in Arx and the Compact.
|Jasher||A fresh Prodigal and his daughter, left adrift in Arx. Time will tell if they will swim, instead of sinking.|
|Jeffeth||It's not often I meet someone as big as me. He seems a nice man, though seems to be the quieter type. Good to see another big boy in the city.|
|Norwood||A man of few words who came in with my stepdaughter. He seems quiet and composed, if a bit out of his comfort zone. That is a feeling I can understand oh-so-well.|
|Shae||He may think I am wee in stature, but I am giant in spirit. He though is a GIANT. Are all the men from the north giants? I'm not sure if he is an animal lover yet, but he has the cutest daughter!|
