Aelius Mercier
Someone who doesn't take risks is doomed to fail.
Obituary: Killed in 1016 during the destruction of Mercier Vineyards by forces unknown.
Description: A broad shouldered man in his late twenties, Aelius stands about 6'0" feet all, with a sandy blonde hair reaching up to the upper part of his neck. A pair of deep blue eyes gaze calmly away, matching with his aquiline nose and thin, rosy lips. This man has a strong square jaw, which contrast with the rest of his features.
He is clad in a dark coloured, richly designed doublet which bears some golden adormens, being tied around his waist by a leather belt. A set of leather brown pants and black boots complete his outfit.
Personality: Calm and relaxed, Aelius is a methodical person, usually taking bold decisions when faced with a challenge. Somewhat stubborn, he is very willful and disciplined.
Background: Aelius was born into a minor branch of the Mercier family, to traditional scions who were interested in keeping the family business on wedding wines alive and well. His father, Vibius, was a dedicated merchant, often assisting to the former head of household in meetings and contacting relevant people to the trade deals. However, a young Aelius wasn't meeting up to the expectations of his father, preferring to spend his time studying scholary matters and painting, instead of learning the family business.
Naive as he was, Aelius spent most of his time daydreaming of buildings he would create, tall creations that would impress The Pantheon themselves and he planned to dedicate such buildings to them. It was only when his father suffered a severe disease that Aelius realised his role in the family, he would spend his days trying to learn as much as he could from his dying father, working to fill up his boots and setting his dreams aside, at least for now, so he could help the cause of the family. Vibius passed away around Aelius' 27th Summer and Aelius decided it was time to put his ideas forward and advance the family business to a next level.
